C510a Zeen - ScreenSaver problem

I put 24 pictures on an SD card and put it in the Zeen to use as a screensaver when it's not in use. Since this printer is in our living room, it's kind of nice to look over every once in a while and see a new picture.
BUT, after some time, the picture stops changing. The Zeen still goes through a transition process (zooming in) but it stays on the same picture and doesn't change to a new one.
I do not know if this happens after it goes through all 24 pictures or if it happens after X hours/minutes or what. I just know it happens every time, eventually.
Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
And yes, I have tried updating the software using the Zeen update process and it is up to date.

If you are having network problems with the Zeen, have you tried setting a static IP in the printer's embedded web server?  Also, if the printer is new, have you tried to contact HP Technical Support for assistance?  You should get a free year out of the factory warranty if you still have your receipt.
If you are still seeking assistance with this, I have a few questions for you.  
1. Why do you have the Belkin and Verizon bridged?
2. Is the main access point a hot spot?  
3. What is the printer's IP address?  What is the Zeen's IP Address?  
4. Lastly, what is the operating system of the PC you most commonly use with this printer?  There is a firmware update to enhance network connectivity but it all depends on the your operating system (ex. Windows 7 64-bit, Mac OS, 10.8, Windows XP, etc).  Answer those questions for me please and I will gladly do my best to help out.

    Here's an idea for a work around. Go to theNational Geographic photos folder and substiture your own photos. Under the finder menu, select go and then "go to folder" and paste in /Library/Screen Savers/Default Collections/1-National Geographic That will show the content. Save those pictures if you like to a folder somewhere and add your own photos to the national geographic folder..

    Unfortunately not. The Zeen tablet runs a modified version of Android made specifically for that printer. There may be a firmware update available for your printer, but there is no way to update the Android OS on the device.

  • I really am struggling to like the upgrade, but the screensaver problems are awful...I have tried most of the solutions offered here, and the problem still persists...PLEASE fix it, Apple. I wish I had not upgraded my ipad.

  • EStation C510a Zeen Problems-Scan Broken & Apps Won't Print

    I have 2 new problems with my Zeen:
    1. It will not scan to a SD card.  It will preview the scan but locks up when the scan button is pressed.
    2. Print apps won't work.  They eject a blank sheet of paper.
    3. Still can't register with eFax.

    I have been able to register with eFax, but have no way of knowing if it completely works.  I have faxed documents to a phone number which doesn't have a FAX machine attached and the phone did ring.  (It tried to connect a number of times, but finally stopped.)
    The major problem I am having with the printer (ZEEN) is that applications frequently stop responding and I have to choose from FORCE CLOSE or WAIT options.  WAIT doesn't really solve the problem and FORCE CLOSE can cause me to lose data.  This has happened on HOME, INTERNET and eReader applications.  Because of it happening on a number of applications, I believe the problem is with the Android operating system.
    In the beginning HP support gave me plenty of hope that solutions would soon be forthcoming.  There was supposed to be an update to a newer version of Android the first of January 2011.  An HP support person told me that.  That never happened and probably never will.  One HP Support person told me to contact Google Android support directly and have them troubleshoot the problem.  Of course, that is ridiculous.  He said to download Android 2.2 to the Zeen myself.  I was also told that the group that had been providing support for the C510a no longer do.
    Finally, I used HP email support and was told that there were no updates available for the printer.  It went on to say that I could take it back to where I purchased it for my money back.
    Also, I have noticed that the price has fallen greatly, including on the HP site (HP is offering a $50 gift card with the purchase).  I am led to believe that the product is being closed out and is something close to being an orphan product.
    I have decided to keep my eStation C510a as I enjoy using it and value its many features even though it is a little rough around the edges and that I believe that some of the features such as eFax may not function in a few years.

  • EStation C510a Zeen applications stop responding problem

    I keep having problems with the Zeen locking up and getting error messages:
    "Activity Internet (in application Internet) is not responding".
    "Activity eReader (in application eReader) is not responding".
    I believe I have also had the problem with Home.
    The error message gives me the options of Force Close and Wait.  Wait generally doesn't fix the problem long term.  I have found Force Close the most helpful.  Afterwards, I have to search for the place I was in the application. 
    This "Freeze up" is very annoying.
    Has anyone found a "fix" for this problem or have any idea of when/if HP is going to issue a fix?  I had read some time ago that HP was going to issue a major update on January 3 that would fix these problems.  I have not yet seen that update.
    Is anyone else having these problems?
    Calling HP support is very time consuming and frustrating.  I may soon be forced to again contact them.

    UPDATE
    I just got off the phone with HP Support and was told that HP no longer supports the Android operating system, which is the probable problem with the applications locking up.  He suggested that I call Google Android support and try to download the newer version of Android to the Zeen tablet.  I don't think that is something I am qualified to do.
    I had been told by HP support, last month, that there would soon be an upgrade from Android 2.1 to 2.2 and that that would solve many problems.  That is apparently never going to happen.
    HP has dropped the price from the original $399.99 to $329.99 and are giving a free $50 gift card with the purchase.  I think it is obvious that HP has washed their hands of the product and are no longer providing future upgrades and only limited support now.  I doubt that we can trust HP to support the eFax or ePrint functions in the future.
    I am considering trying to return my printer to Amazon.

  • Photosmart eStn C510a Zeen won't stay connected to network long enough to update software

    My network connection to my printer works fine; but the zeen connection is intermittent.  And will not stay connected long enough to download the software update that it shows is available.  Sure wish I could use the USB port on the zeen to accomplish this software update.  Even though I do not know if it will fix my intermittent connection problem.  I have tried many resets and re-adding my network and re-syncing .....etc.

    Is the printer's connection also intermittent? When the Zeen won't connect, are you still able to print something from the computer?
    How close is the Zeen to the router? Has it always been intermittent, or is this a newer development?

  • OS X RSS Screensaver problem

    Just wondering if something is wrong here, but I can't get the Apple RSS screensaver to show more than four stories. I've tried different feeds, etc., and they all have many more than four items, but when the screensaver comes on it only displays the top four stories. As far as I remember, it used to be the top ten stories. Is this a feature change or is something weird going on?

    Run Software Update, if nothing appears the open System Preferences - Print & Scan, highlight the device on the left pane and right click to reveal Reset Printing System.... and then restart the computer. If you still have a problem contact Minolta to see if they intend to support the device under Mavericks.

  • Screensaver problems

    Hello Forum,
    It pains me to write this, but am having problems displaying my custom screen saver. My screens resolution is 1280x1024, and my art board exports at that size, am exporting at 72 p/inch s well, and although it displays perfectly when used as a background when I use the same image as a screen saver it becomes pixelated and somehow blurry. Tried adjusting a million things but I think I'm missing something? Can anyone offer any advice?
    By the way I am using an old cube with OSX 10.4.11 if that helps

    When I download and do minor edits (as rotations, mostly; a few
    re-sized for posting via email, very few for posting to web pages)
    of images from either of my digital cameras, they go into a date
    structured folder based on the date of image capture.
    This folder and any additional folders of edited images that I keep
    in the computer are available for me to point the Screensaver and
    Desktop system preference panel to use as a source. Never fails.
    Are you writing a new ScreenSaver module of your own, to run
    your images as a screen saver via the System Preference panel?
    If so, there are rules that differ between most upgrade versions of
    Mac OS X; as time goes on and changes in them occurred. See:

    The 'screensaver' use of images is different than 'desktop' images.
    A higher resolution should not matter too much, if the image does
    cover the screen in both situations, as screen saver & also desktop.
    The effect of using the same image as 'wall-paper' vs. using it as a
    full-screen screensaver (where images can fade from one to next,
    like a slideshow effect) may appear differently, between these two.
    (How a folder of images, destined to be used as 'screensavers' to
    run like the defaults, in a movie-like mode, is created will make a
    difference in factors such as resolution, esp between images in it.
    I prefer to not make 'screen savers' per-se and use images as
    desktop and folder backgrounds instead. Takes less time.)
    And this is a default system choice, to select a folder of images.
    So, if this fails to work and you do not use iPhoto (I do not, either)
    then there may be a problem with how the images were edited - or
    the software you used leaves a proprietary mark on the image files.
    For images I've decided to have appear in my Mac as desktop images
    they go into a file named something like 'misc desktop images' and I
    can add or remove those few, sort of a default choice. Otherwise, my
    choice for desktop and folder background images can range up to a
    few thousand images taken with my old Nikon D70 DSLR, & Panasonic.
    And from any dated folder of either camera's derived image content.
    Have you tried using another image editor, and have it load the images
    into a new-named folder, after minor corrections, to see if the Mac's OS
    can handle the file correctly? For minor edits, I use a freeware in Tiger
    10.4.11, it can do more than I need; it is ToyViewer 5.0. Works well &
    it does not leave any proprietary marks on the resulting images.
    So, you may have an issue. Have you tried other folder names, instead
    of 'screensaver' to see if a new folder, and correct user access to that,
    makes a difference? If you have user account permission or privilege
    issues with a folder you create and place in the Hard disk drive, you may
    be able to change them via Get Info & look into Ownership & Permissions.
    {Not sure if there are any system default folders already named
    SCREENSAVER but I am sure to not name anything of mine
    similar to a system-generated folder.}
    There are different ways of using the file hierarchy of the user account, as
    well as those in the system; the image quality should not change due to
    location of the single image, but how it was edited or handled via software
    may be related to the problem in this instance.
    When did this issue first start happening? Was there an update or software
    added to the system, just prior to this problem's appearance in the computer?
    Does a second user account (given admin access and its own image folder)
    also make odd or lower than expected resolution of images? It should not,
    unless the image issue is related to third-party software editing that some how
    isn't correct.
    Anyway, I have to be offline and +take someone who can't drive+ shopping.
    That can take anywhere from two hours to two days. So much for coupons.
    And being told how to drive, shortcuts, and risks to take, is part & parcel of
    the journey's path. In poor conditions among amateur-class drivers.

  • ITunes Artwork Screensaver problem - linked to recent iPod Touch update?

    Ever since I updated my iPod Touch on Sunday I am having problems with the iTunes Artwork Screensaver. It will only work when I go into system preferences and actually set it up - by changing to another screensaver, then going back to the iTunes artwork screensaver, then adjusting the time, then 'testing' ...and then it will eventually work; but only on 'test'.
    When I let the computer just run the screensaver I get the message: "Your iTunes Library does not contain any artwork" - well it does, and by doing the process mentioned above it will work when I press 'test', otherwise it doesn't work.
    This is VERY frustrating - I've looked on the discussion boards and no one seems to have a firm solution - certainly the ones I've tried for the past 48 hrs haven't worked.
    Also the System Preferences seems to be not working correctly. I have to 'quit' the application completely, and then click on it - to start it up - in order to look at it again following the 'testing' of the iTunes Artwork screensaver.
    It was all working fine until I downloaded the update for the iPod Touch two days ago - Can anyone help?

    I'm having the same problem. The itunes artwork screensaver quit working. I get the same message that my library contains no artwork. Any body else having the problem? Solutions anyone? Apple are you listening? It always worked until about a week ago.

  • Screensaver problem!

    I use the Weather Channel screensaver and it's been working wonderfully for over a year, however it now refuses to show anything but a black screen. The only thing I've done between it working and not working is download the Safari 4 beta... but I don't see what that would have to do with my screensaver not working. Also, when I checked to see if my other screensavers worked they were all fine, except the album artwork which turns them all shades of pink for some reason...
    Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this?

    FWIW, I did an archive and install and left out Safari 4 and it is now working again, so I can confirm that's the problem. Since this is my media centre computer, I really liked having the weather come up!
    Btw, does anyone know of any other weather screensavers that maybe have more pictures and include a 5 day forecast? I think the weather channel could probably make tons of improvements, but there's been no updates in two years.

  • Nokia 6303classic - screensaver problem

    Hi guys,
    I have a problem with my new Nokia6303c: I can't activate the screensaver. I tried everything: setted a screensaver and a time-out, tried with the default ones and new ones that I dowloaded, tried to deactivate the sleep mode, the power saver, changing theme, changing wallpaper... Sadly nothing seems to work. When the phone is at rest I can only see the display witht the normal wallpaper. Only when I press the red button I see the analogic clock for three seconds, then it goes back to the wallpaper mode.
    Am I missing something? Please help

  • Weird screensaver problem?

    I'm running the latest version of OSX on my mid 2010 Mini. I've just tried to set my iPhoto library as the screensaver but get a message saying I cannot use it with this version of OSX and to contact the vendor????
    I've ran software update and everything is up to date? I've tried using another picture library and I get the same message?
    Any ideas????

    I found the fix for this problem...
    The culprit is Air Display... You have to go to /Applications/Utilities/and run the "Uninstall Air Display" script and reboot.
    This fix it all.

  • 5320 screensaver problem

    i have set my screen saver at "always" mode (since 5320 doesn't have "sleep mode" feature) to make the screensaver is alway on..
    my screen saver show the date so that i can see it quickly when i need it..although it in the "always" mode, but it's still turn off in the next 60 second..i have come to nokia customer care at my country and get explanation about the software problems etc
    is there anyone can help me?because at nokia official site at my country 5320 is not yet listed..it's brand new cellphone here..

    Hi, I got the 5320 today. I also found it difficult to achieve a date/time screensaver that doesn't fade away but eventually figured it out after a bit of playing around.
    Go to settings -> General -> Personalisation -> Themes -> Power Saver -> Date. This sets the screensaver to show the date/time rather than the fancy default animation.
    Then go to settings -> General -> Personalisation -> Display -> Screensaver -> Screensaver duration and set it to Always. This makes the screensaver stay permanently and prevents your screen from fading to nothing.
    You can also adjust the screensaver time-out to change how long it is after your last activity before the screensaver activates.
