C5180 won't print on 4" x 6" photo paper

I can no longer print on 4 x 6 photo paper from my C5180 (purchased 2007). The only paper choices on the drop down are "letter" and "A4". This happened after my files and software were put onto a new computter. I just reinstalled the C5180 driver from the HP website, but I still can't get back the photo-paper sizes or options. My photos are in Kodak EasyShare and also outside Kodak, as basic "lloose" .JPGS. Any ideas? Thanks.

GO to control panel and printers (depends on which os you have on how) rightclick the icon of your printer and select printing preferances. Go to the features tab and with paper size select more, here you normally can select the correct size. If note use custom to make your own size.

How to print on the back of photo paper so it will dry.

I need to print on the back of some photos I have. I am using an HP Officejet Pro 8500A using Windows 7. I have tried to print on these photos but the ink will not dry.
The paper I am using is 4x6 glossy everyday photo paper.
What should I change in the settings to get the ink to dry????

Hi,
most of the Photo Paper will only allow you to print on a single side.
Unless the used Photo Paper is intended for double side printing you will not be able to print on the back of the paper.
There are no different settings for any of the sided, it only depand on the used media.

Printing on 4" by 6" photo paper

I have no trouble in printing my photos on A4 paper, using hp psc1350 printer. However, 4' by 6' prints capture only part of the image. I set the printer to 'Fit to page' and 'Photo' paper type. I set the paper size under the custom part (10 by 15 centimetres) in Page Set Up. In Print mode, I set the size to '4 by6'. Under the Advanced tab, I change the paper quality to that of photo paper. but still, I get partial prints only. Surely I have missed a simple step somewhere?

You have cropped it to 4x6 in iPhoto before trying to print, correct? With my two printers I use the borderless 4x6 setting in Page Setup and in the iPhoto print window I select the specific printer again and then Standard Prints, 4x6 and click on the 1 photo per page checkbox.

Photo Printing on 4 x 6 Photo Paper Using HP D4360

I've suddenly started having problems printing 4 x 6 borderless photos on HP Advanced Photo Paper. The print quality is good, but the image is shifted to the left (when printing in landscape), or the paper isn't fed far enough into the printer before printing starts) and so a white border approximately 2/8" - 3/8" wide remains on the right side of the paper after printing finishes. Ink streaks are visible on the underside of the leading edge of the paper (which also seems to indicate that the printing is starting before the paper gets to the starting position.

Printing only on half 4x6 photo paper

My printer is only printing on half the photo paper 4x6. I have changed the preference settings on my hp printer to photo paper the paper size but it's just printing the picture small and on the edge leaving a wide blank space. If I trimmed the photo down it would be too small. Any ideas why this is happening.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8500g won't print on standard 8.5"x11" paper!

I downloaded and installed the update to the print driver that came out in January 2014 and that seemed to help for about one day. The next time I tried to use it, it wouldn't print with the same error as before. I downloaded and installed it all over again and it was OK for a day.... Next time, I wanted to print, I couldn't print using my 2012 MacBook Pro 17" laptop running Mavrick OS 10.9.2 on my 2.4GHz Intel Core i7 computer... I try to keep up with my upgrades and this is entirely rediculous! Same problem on my wife's MacBook Pro 15" with a similar configuration... We have had to buy a canon printer to print from our iPads and phones but HP sits in the living room only usable as a copier! **bleep**? This is horse pucky!

Photosmart 8750 won't print sharp black and white photos

I am trying to print some black and white photographs using my photosmart 8750 printer. Up until now, I have just done color photographs. After printing my first black and white photograph, I'm very disappointed. While it is definitely gray scale, the dark black colors in the photo aren't coming out black at all...just a shade of gray. I have the gray photo cartridge installed. Is that my problem? Everywhere I read, it says that is what should be used.

Try the troubleshooting steps in this page. Does the diagnostic page print properly?

As I don't print in color much but had need to I discovered my printer not printing in color. I trouble shooted and even replaced with an new HP95 new from Office Depot ( I never buy refilled). The printer still won't print color but it advances the paper as if it was printing - just no ink on paper. I have cleaned thoroughly the ink jet heads, cartridge area, and run all the alignment and printer utilities. The test page print does not show color either. I have no error messages. Don't know what else to do.

I can see your having a print quality issue with your HP OfficeJet 6310. I should be able to provide documentation that will help locate a resolution. You mentioned you have already tried another HP95 tri-color cartridge with no resolution. I also noticed you said that the quality report from the printer also has no color ink.
If a stand alone test report is performed from the front of the printer such a printhead cleaning or print quality report and there is no color on the page then you are likely looking at a hardware issue within the printer. I have provided a document regarding Missing, Faded, or Dull Colors on the HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One Printer. If you follow the document from start to finish and still have the same issue then I would recommend contacting our HP tech support via phone. They deal with hardware warranty and replacement options.

HP x64 printer--won't take glossy photo paper

This printer will not take glossy photo paper--it simply grinds and message reads "Out of paper". It will print matte photo paper and regular paper, but not glossy photo. I bought HP glossy photo paper and that won't even work.

What is the exact paper type?
The printer specifications does not list Glossy Paper as a supported media, any supported media is listed under Paper-handling specifications > Supported photo paper:

What is the exact media type and weight, that may also help identifyig the issue, the exact paper type should be listed on its packaging...

What operating systen/device are you printing from?
If you're using AirPrint, it's worth noting the points below:
The default settings for Airprint on Apple devices is to print photos from the photo tray and all other documents from the main plain paper tray.
For more flexability in terms of media and tray selection, please download the HP e-Pprint app. You'll find setup instructions for e-Print here.

HP Envy 7645 won't print from photo tray

FIXED my own problem!Never thought to try setting the paper size to 4x6 in/10x25 cm! That's apparently what I get for being metric-phobic (or ignorant). But really, why provide a 4x6 option in the first place? I can't get my Envy 7645 printer to print from the photo tray. I'm specifically trying to print from the Photos app. I select the print option, set the printer, paper size (4x6), and paper options to "print from photo tray." I select print, and the HP print dialog appears and from there I am unable to set the photo tray as the paper source. The dialog comes up with "Default Settings" as the Presets option and when I scroll down through the dialog to select the Paper Type/Quality option, it shows paper type as HP Photo Papers, Quality is set to Normal, and the Source is set to Automatic (which fails to print from the photo tray; it defaults to the main tray). When I try to shift from Automatic to Photo Tray, I get an error message that says "The paper size selected is not supported by the Photo Tray. To print with the Photo Tray, go to the Page Setup dialog, choose a paper size supported by this tray, and then return to the Print dialog." At this point, I have no idea where to find the Page Setup dialog (it's not immediately apparent in the avialable options and I can't seem to find it under any of the Photos print options). Further, I don't understand why I'm getting the error in the first place as the paper installed in the tray is, indeed, 4x6 (as set in the original Photos dialog). I've tried playing with any number of varities of options (e.g, changing from HP Photo Papers to the generic other photo papers option, not specifying size of photo paper) and any time I select the photo tray option, I get the error message.

I see that you have some interface questions about printing photos from a Yosemite Mac using your HP ENVY 7645 e-All-in-One Printer. I would like to help. Have you installed your printer's full-feature driver on the Mac? If not, click here to install. Also, for your information, your printer's specifications re: supported photo paper sizes is available here. When I tried printing a photo from my Yosemite machine (albeit with a different printer) this is how I configured the print job: If I had the option I would also recommend setting the paper type to correspond with whatever kind of photo paper you're using. If this approach doesn't help try the following steps: Uninstall your printer - click here for instructions. Repair disk permissions on your Mac - click here for instructions. Once you've finished running the above-noted utility, restart your computer. Lastly, click here to reinstall your printer. Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post. Printer won't print black ink on plain paper but WILL on photo paper.

Suddenly my printer stopped printing black text, main tray. I put in a new cartridge, clean print heads, cleaned screen, reset the printer, etc., etc. Then I found it WILL print text in black on photo paper in main tray. It will print colored text, it just WILL NOT print black text on plain paper, I have tried different brands of plain paper. No difference. I have tried different quality settings, I have deleted and re-installed the printer, update software, prayed, etc. Even tried wired and wireless connections. I give up. Please help.

I'd like to help you be able to print again. I understand your colored cartridges are working, but the black ink is not. Please begin with the steps in the following document; Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink for the HP Photosmart Premium C309a...
If you complete all of the steps in the document above and the issue continues, my own personal recommendation, not one of HPs, is to use the solution offered in the following video. I only suggest doing this if he printer and printhead are out of warranty.  Hot Water Printhead Flush - HP Ink Series Printers with removable Printhead.
I have recommended this solution to others and have seen success, but I can not guarantee this will resolve the issue, it is an end of the line kind of effort. I hope it helps.

Although the printer might be out of warranty, if the issue persists, HP may be able to offer you something. Maybe they can offer you a discount on a newer model, or discuss the option of replacing the printhead!  If after all of our efforts the issue remains, I suggest calling HP. HP PhotoSmart C310, won't use photo paper

My printer just stopped using the photo paper. It will print photos on regular printer paper, though. I've made sure the photo paper is loaded correctly & chosen the correct type of paper. If I remove the regular printer paper, it won't print at all. It is as if there is no photo paper loaded. Any suggestions?
