C5280 All in One scan to pdf issues

Running Windows 7 Pro, 64 Bit.  Two days ago out of the blue, my C5280 printer is having problems scanning multi page documents into files.  It will scan between 2 and 3 pages of the document and then freeze in the middle of the scan.  The only way to clear it is to unplug it.  It won't turn off or cancel.
I thought it might have needed a driver update but I dont' see one readily available.  There was a Windows update on the day this first occurred but the error did not occur with the first scan after the update so I don't think the update was the problem.

I understand that your HP Photosmart C5280 printer is freezing after 2-3 pages of scanning, and I am happy to help you with this scanning issue!
Please take a look through this scanning guide, An 'An error occurred while communicating with scanning device' or a 'There is no computer connectio.... 
I would also make sure that the printer's power cable is plugged directly into the wall outlet, and not a surge protector.  Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.

    The scanner that I have is a hp deskjet F2110 all-in one.  How do I scan and save as a PDF file.  The only options that I can find are JPG, BMP, PNJ, TIF.
    Is it even possable to scan as a PDF file on this scanner?

    Try running the HP Print and Scan Doctor to start with and let me know the detailed results or include a screen shot to me.
    Also, like I mentioned above, ensure you have the full software downloaded and installed:
    HP Deskjet F2100/F4100 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver
    Afterwards, open up the printer software from your desktop and let me know if you have the options to "Scan to PDF".

  • Scanning on my c5280 all in one printer-scanner-copier

    since purchasing my lap running windows 8.1 I have been unable to scan from my all in one printer to my pc. all it allows you to do is to scan the document to a memory card or reprint the image

    Hello , Welcome to the HP Community. I'd like to help you with the issue you are having scanning on your Windows 8.1 system with your HP Photosmart C5280 All-in-One printer. I would suggest installing the full feature software for your product. Fortunately, the full software suite is still available for download for your Windows 8.1 operating system. You can download the software here: HP Photosmart C5200 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver If the issue persists, I suggest trying to install the printer using the Windows Update. You can find all of the steps to do that here (under Step Two: Method Two): HP Single-Function and Multifunction Printers - The Printer Does Not Print in Windows 8 and is Listed as 'Unknown' or 'Unspecified' or Appears with a Yellow Triangle in the Devices and Printers Folder If you're still unable to scan after installing the printer using Windows Update, try downloading the HP Scan and Capture app from the Windows Store. Please respond to let me know if these suggestions helped to resolve your issue!

    The HP Photosmart C5280 All-in-one display shows "No printing Alignment Page" scrolling for the last 30 minutes.
    Also, suddenly, this printer is no long listed in my control panel.
    I installed new cartridges about a week ago and they worked fine until this week.

  • Photosmart C5280 all-in-one Cartridges error message

    hi, I have a Photosmart C5280 all-in-one. It's been good until today when I got an error message:
    ! Print Cartridges refer to printer documentation.
    I've only ever used genuine HP cartridges. I have the correct ones in - 75XL tricolour and 74XL black.
    I've taken them out, reseated them several times to no avail, the error message will not leave and the printer will not function. Any ideas please?

  • HP 1410 all-in-one Scanned Pictures not Saved

    Recently upgraded my pc to windows 8.1 but the HP 1410 all-in-one printer scanner will  not save scanned pictures.  I attempt to "scan to file" but when I click finish I receive the option to scan more pictures or end (done).  W"done" when I click done the "solution center" app returns to its home screen.
    All other scanning properties are functioning correctly.

    Please first try running the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results. Please let me know the outcome!

  • HP PhotoSmart 2575 All-In-One Driver/Software Install Issue - Windows 8.1

    I've just bought a new Sony Viao with Windows 8.1 (64 bit) installed.
    I'm trying to install my HP PhotoSmart 2575 All-In-One so downloaded the driver and software installer from here:

    The file downloaded fine on to my desktop, i double click it and then the Exctracting... thing moves along to 100% then goes off the screen.  Then nothing happens. I was expecting some software for the printing and scanning to be installed or some further install files to be added to my desktop.
    What do i do next?

    Thank you for updating me. I can definitely understand the frustration you must be feeling, especially when things seemed to be going great then it changed.
    I have 2 documents to follow next.  First, please try the steps in the document titled "Software Installation Stops Without Warning and With No Error Message".   When you get to "Step three: Install the Software", it references HP SmartInstall.  Please don't worry about using that program as it's specific to some of HP's LaserJet printers.  Please use the HP's Printer Install Wizard instead of HP's SmartInstall.  
    If that document doesn't resolve the issue then please proceed onto the 2nd document titled "The Progress Bar on the Software Installation Stops or Stalls". 
    Please let me know how it goes.  I want to ensure we have your printer installed and working.

  • HP 7520 all in one - scan to computer won't work

    Hi there,
    I was wondering if someone would be able to help me with a scanning issue. I use my HP 7520 wirelessly, and the printing works fine. I can scan to email and to a USB, but scanning to my computer won't work. It used to work, and stopped one day. I've tried shutting down the printer, computer, and router to re-start.
    I also followed all of these directions:

    I have a Mac OSX 10.8 operating system. I tried un-installing and re-installing the software, nothing works. But the printer is connected to my wireless network. The only thing I couldn't do with those instructions is under the "check scan to computer setting" area, number 7. Whwn I open my print que and click on "settings", I don't have a utility tab. So there is no where for me to check the box "scan to computer". Is that the issue? Not sure why I don't see this on my computer. Thanks!

    If you are missing the Utility tab then you won't have the option to enable the scan to computer.
    What drivers did you install?
    I would uninstall the printer. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
    Follow these steps to repair Disk Permissions.
    On the Apple menu bar, click Go, then click Utilities.
    From the sub menu on the right, double-click Disk Utility .
    From the list on the left, select your drive or active partition.
    Click the First Aid tab, then click Verify then Repair Disk Permissions .
    Restart your computer.
    Then download and run the installation.

    I have provided a document for A 'No Computer Detected' or 'Connection Error' Message Displays during Scanning. Steps for enabling the scan feature.
    This information is for onespeedbiker since you are using Win XP.
    I would download and run the Print and Scan Doctor since it might resolve the issue automatically.

  • Photosmart 2610 all-in-one Scan preview does not display

    Recovering from a hard-disk crash, I've just reinstalled my Photosmart 2610 all-in-one using the driver and software package for Windows XP : rub_W01_Americas_Euro1_NB.exe. downloaded from the HP support site. All seems to be running well, except for a glitch when I try to scan: the document Preview does not display.  I have made certain that the Preview checkbox is duly selected, but nothing seems to help. It is the same whether I'm scanning a picture or a document. It also makes no difference whether I launch the scan from HP Director or from within another application.
    Note that if I click Accept, the document (or picture) will indeed be scanned and saved. But I won't see it until I open it with some other application.
    Thoughts, anybody?

    I understand you are unable to see your scanned preview with your Photosmart 2610. I would suggest the guide below to use for troubleshooting steps for this issue.

  • Hp1510 all in one scan error

    I have just buy this printer but it shows scanning error. i have already used hp print scan dr. but issue does not ressovle.When I open Start>all programms>HP>HP scan.......then it shows "hp 1510 series was not found" AND I am Install all Software drivers   which is said by HP print scan dr.I am use xp sp2 having ram 768mb and intel 1.7ghz processor.

    I'm facing a similar problem with an HP Photosmart C4380 All-in-one. Having scanned well at the start, it now tells me that it "cannot allocate memory or system resources to complete operation." HP said it was an Apple problem and would not help. I've tried re-installing CD etc. but message still comes up and it won't scan. Can anyone help? Thank you.

  • HP8600 Officejet all in one -scanning problem with ADF

    Hi there - I have an Officejet 8600 all in one printer-scanner etc.  I love it - it copies no problem - it used to scan both from the Automatic Document Feeder and from  the glass.
    NOW - it prints OK - it scans from the flatbed glass OK - but when you scan a document in from  the document feeder - it scans 4 pages 1inch high then the document.  This is really irritating as it never used to do this and I dont want to have to scan pages one at a time from  the glass.

    Based on your description, it sounds like the issue is limited to the document feeder.   • How can I use my HP 1315 All-in-One scan features on my computer?

    I am able to use the printing function from my computer but am unable to use the scanning feature on my printer.  I have downloaded the Apple stuff and have searched HP (many features, including a diagnostic test, are blocked by Apple!!) and can't figure out how to use my scanner on the printer.  The suggestions from Apple (web help) are not helpful in the least.  I have a HP 1315 All-in-One (1310 Series) and the Mac installation disk will not work on my MacBook.  Any suggestions will be helpfull.  In advance, thank you!!

  • HP C4440 ALL -IN- ONE PRINTING AND INK ISSUES

    I have an HP C4440 ALL-IN-ONE that seems to be having some printing and ink issues.
    Ink keeps saying it is in backup mode
    and its also saying it is not detected or intalled
    this is not a new cartridge and has been used before without any problems.
    i tried using all of the solutions hp gives you with no help.
    all ink levels are detected and i am also using color ink cartridge.

    Hi! I have same problem too. After printer (HP B110b) turn on and then off, all my Wi-Fi devices lose network. I should reboot my router every time after use printer =(((This problem only with Wi-Fi. All ethernet-connected devices woks OK.
    My network: D-Link DIR-320 with firmware 1.21
    Wi-Fi: hidden network with WPA/WPA2 and PSK mode.
    Wi-Fi devices: netbook with WinXP SP3, netbook with Win7 Home Premium x32, Sony-PRS-T2 reader and Galaxy S3 phone (last 2 based on android).
