C540 Touch sound problem

I have been researching, trying to figure out why my sound on my Lenova C540 Touch is not as loud as it used to be. I have the sound all the way up, but it's nowhere near as loud as it was when I first got the computer.
I think it might be because of the whole Windows 8.1/Dolby Advanced Audio problem I've read about in other posts. I confirmed that my Dolby Advanced Audio is not working.
However, none of the online solutions apply to me because they mention different drivers than what I have on this system. I don't have Convexant. When I click on the properties, details, of my speakers, it says Audio Endpoint. When I go to driver details, it says "no driver files are required or have been loaded for this device."
I tried to unistall/reinstall Dolby Advanced Audio, but that didn't do anything. Dolby still doesn't work.
Just for information, this is what is listed under audio inputs and outputs: microphone (lenova USB audio), speakers (RealTek High Definition Audio), Stereo Mix (RealTek High Definition Audio).
Please tell me what I can do to get Dolby running again and whether this will make my sound loud again.

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Open Device Manager and Uninstall the audio Driver under Sound and gaming controllers,
make sure to place a check under delete driver software prompt.
Open Control Panel Uninstall a program and uninstall all Dolby Related component.
Open Drive C: and Delete the folder says Driver or drivers
Install this driver
Realtek Audio Driver V6832
After installation open C: Driver/s
You should find the Audio driver folder and a dolby gui or pcee4 will be in ther and an installer of DolbyAA or advanced audio

Ideapad s210 Touch Sound Problem

Hi,
I seem to have a weird sound issue with my laptop. I got the following message when i tried to play an audio on windows player.

But when i started the computer previously, it still produced the windows start up sound. And there's nothing wrong with the file cause i don't have problem playing them before. Same thing happened when i used iTunes, the needle on the music bar didn't even move and there's no sound eventhough i have already pressed play. Strange thing is, there's a speaker icon next to the song title which appear everytime the music is playing which means the file is playing.

Sound problem with my iPod touch! Need urgent help!

I have an iPod Touch 8gb 3rd gen (2nd gen) and have owned it for a couple years. Recently I've been noticing some sound problems when I listen to music with earbuds/headphones. One of the earbuds will lose sound and won't produce music but if I twist the input plug it produce little or full sound but if it moves out of a certain position it won't produce sound out of that bud. I'm using Skullcandy Ink'd earbuds so I thought maybe since they arn't great it might be a manufacturer defect but I used them with my iPod Nano 2gb 1st gen and I could hear out of both earbuds perfectly. I even plugged in my iPod Touch into a car adapter so I could listen to my music through the car stereo and it went in and out of sound so I realize now it is my iPod and not 3rd party equipment I've been using with it that is the problem. Since its the iPod what is the exact problem and how do I fix it? I really don't want to use my old iPod since it doesn't have enough storage for my music now and I'm already getting something else for Christmas that I've been wanting for a while. Please help!

If your car adapter works thru the headphone jack, the problem could just be dirt inside the jack.
Try just putting in and out the headphone plug a few times. You can also try cleaning the jack, just don't use anything wet. Cotton swabs are also not advisable as they might leave lint and make things worse.
To make sure it's not a oft ware issue, try to Reset your device.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off that shows up first).

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

Any resolution to the sound problem?

I have been having the same sound problem with my Mid 2010 Mac Pro tower ever since I got it. I have been in touch with Apple and have been told that they are familiar with the problem, but that they are still working on a fix. The problem is that I have external speakers, and every time I shut down and then start up again, I have to go to preferences and physically change the sound output to go to the speakers. I have also been tole that the Mac is supposed to sense the external speakers and go directly to them.
Is there anybody else out there with this problem, and has been able to resolve it?

I have a 2010 Mac Pro and use the stereo line out jack in the back of my machine for my speakers with no problem. I don't recall any problems setting it up. But check the Audio MIDI Setup (in your utilities folder) to see if you can set it from there (should be able to). Not sure why the preference wouldn't stick. And I don't believe there is automatic detection of an attached sound output device where the sound preference switches to that (unless maybe the front jack which I never use).

I have a HP Pavilion which has a touch sound bar above the keyboard. The display is no longer there

I have been trying for 3 days to fix this issue & I even had Bicrosft tech support on line remote PC acces take control of my PC, and still can't get the sound to work!

Problem: I was watching a movie a night before, and I muted and forgot to turn off my laptop, today I found out the sound did not work, so I tried restarting and still no hope, i tried disabling and enabling the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and still no hope, windows says that this device is working properly, but oviously its not I really need help, I dont know anything advanced about technology yet, so im helpless.

Hi,
Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59291.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow thisand then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Start the notebook and let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete. Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

Sound problems with my Visio

Hi, I have read that people are having sound problems with their Vision M players, hissing etc.
I wonder if anyone has had the problem I have - I cannot alter the volume! When I plug in either headphones or portable speakers into the M, using the touch pad has no effect on the volume. If I unplug it the touch pad then alters (or appears to) the volume - judging by the scale on the right of the screen. Plug the phones back in again and I get the same one level of volume.
Also, the screen goes blank when I plug in phones or speakers.
I am an MP3 player virgin and have no idea if the fault is mine or not.
I bought my Vision M from Amazon, who very quickly sent me a replacement when I contacted them - even before I had returned the original. But the replacement has the same problems.
Any comments would be welcome.

woggydog, thats what happens when your plugging outputs into the Audio/Video out socket of the player using the dock or supplied connector... it goes into line Out Mode, which cuts out audio from changing since the amplifier would be able to control this on a sound system.
The one that shouldn't do this is the one on the top right of the player.

hi all thanks in advance for ur help. a couple of weeks ago i built a pc at college and when ever i play a game, music anything with sounds i get a horrible clacking noise the only way to stop it is to keep stoping and starting the music/game

I too HAd the same clacking..
Turns out....the Nforce drivers are Poo!
got the realtek AC97 drivers and my K7N2G sound problem was no more!
I also had a very long delay on boot up...........disabled the onboard LAn and it speeded up a lot. i then increased the Memeory aperyture for the IGP too 64MB and it seems(Touch-wood) to be running ok now....phew!

Try another set of earphones to rule out the earphones as being the cause.
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack or other hardware problem.

My sound was very high, but now it's low after my sound problem

Hi guys.
I have a HP Sleekbook touch.. windows 8.1
so, here comes the problem:
When I was trying to listen to a video, I saw a red x on my sound icon.. I found a place where I could fix it, and what I did was: To go to the driver AMD High Definition Audio Device (or maybe it was another one. Because first there was only one and then it changed to two) and deactivate it, and then restart the PC... That was really easy, and it worked..
However, my laptop's sound had changed really... The sound was low.. From 1-10 my sound is now at 5.. Before that it was at 8-9 pieces.
I don't what happened.. I need help to change my sound back to what it was before.
Here is a picture of my current status:

I see that you are having a sound problem after you deactivated your sound card. Go to your Device Manager and expand Sound, video and game controllers. You should see your AMD High-Definition Audio Device. Right click it and select Enable then restart the computer. If that doesn't work please reply back with your product number so I know what Sleekbook we are working with.

I have Cq40-144tu laptop. i am't hearing sound from internal speaker but sound is hearing from headphone. I have configured my system many time. Last got to shop and they also format it and reconfigured but still this problem is showing.
But I was hearing sound from speaker when i chat in gtalk and then i heared sound from window media player and other application also for 5 to 10 second only. every time some text is recieved i hear sound for 5 to 10 second.
please tell me what is problem in My Laptop. i have window 7 ultimate operating system.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Desperately need some help!! iTunes/Quicktime/iChat/Sound problems....

So, yesterday, I was online, on google video, and when I pressed play on the video, there was no sound, but the video worked...the same was true on every video site i checked. My computer volume was at max, and I even tested the speakers to make sure they were on, and they indeed were.
I thought that was odd...but then the problems really started.....
After that, I clicked on my iChat icon. It bounced once, and did not open. The same thing happened when I clicked on iTunes. 1 bounce, and then nothing. I checked to make sure all of my iTunes mp3 files were on my computer....they indeed are all still here, bit nothing I can do opens iTunes. I've run disc utilities, and disc repair...according to that, everything is peachy-keen on my computer.....but iChat and iTunes STILL will not open, and there is still no sound on anything.
Now, i'm leaning towards the archive and install option....or even just backing up what I want to save, wiping the drive, and starting from scratch.....but i'd really like to not have that happen.
(and, as a side question, if all I want to save are images, several documents, and many mp3 files, would everything be okay if I just backed them up on an external drive, and then loaded them back on to my computer after reinstalling OS X?)
Sorry about the length of this, but I am at my wit's end, and I have no idea what to do.

by third-party, do you mean things I installed that are not manufactured by mac? If that is the case, I have microsoft office, Smart Music, Flip4mac, and Senuti.
I got rid of Flip4Mac to see if that affected my sound problems, but it did not. So, as of now, my problem remains the same...

Did you download and install the Windows Support software? First step in Bootcamp Assistant is to download the support software. Then did you install the support software from within Windows?

Sound problems on ProBook 6550b, running on Win 7 Pro x32bit..

I have been getting very similar sound problems on my notebook as posted by most: internal speakers work on original Audio HD drivers, but there is no sound when I connect external speakers or headphones. I up-graded the audio drivers to IDT HD Audio and I get sound coming from external speakers or headphones, but nothing from internal speakers.
I have tried everything from reporting the problem on public forums, live help, and done this or that, but nothing changes. It's so very clear to me that it has to do with audio drivers, which don't seem to work appropriately to cover all aspects of sound output.
I also, often, get this loud, weird, irritating noise and a frozen PC when I am playing music with the notebook, while on the internet. The best I do is not to do both at the same time. I have seen similar problems on blogs, but tangible solutions are NOT offered!!!! Please help...

Audio Switching coudl be due to several reason. if you have tried latest audio drivers and latest Video drivers from hp.com, i suggest you to get audio board replaced for your computer.
