C540 wireless not working (horrible customer warranty support)

Just spent the last 3 hours of my life doing 1) on a call with tech support unable to troubleshoot wireless networking 2)getting disconnected TWICE with no call backs even though you have my number 3) unable to call back into the system all lines are busy and no way to connect online with support to restablish the connection.
If you can read this. I'm absolutely disappointed with the level and mechanisms for support.
Please contact me Lenovo. Otherwise, I'm never buying a Lenovo product again. Also, I will affirmatively tell my friends and family of my experience if this is not resolved.
This thing is brand new, and there should be a systemic way to troubleshoot wireless networking.
PLEASE CONTACT ME LENOVO

  • Service not working- horrible customer service

Maybe if I write to you some other way besides calling in 15 times to explain the same thing over and over again and have nothing done this will help. I signed up for service 1 1/2 weeks ago. two or three days after signing up and having a tech come install my services , my on-demand crashed ,my Internet crashed and my cable boxes keep resetting by themselves. I called tech support and they couldn't solve the issue and had to escalate to tier 2 tech support , waited 2 days for the call back . They couldn't fix the issue. Sent me a tech to my home. After 4-5 hours here and switching boxes , trying to update firmware he was not able to solve . Told me Comcast would call me to let me know what his next step was and then for me to call him and let him know????? Anyway he also told me that the initial modem that was put in place was not the one I take therefore making my signal extremely weak even though I pay for the faster service. No one has called not even a courtesy call, no one can tell my why my service isn't working or when it would be fixed . I have called in around four times and you can check my notes if you want and I keep getting told that I'm going to get help and I don't yesterday a supervisor told me a technician to come out and make sure he gets it fixed . NO ONE called . NO ONE showed up. Still my services do not work. I called Comcast today 2 times I was on hold for 47 minutes and after 47 minutes was told I would get a call back . Still nothing . I am definitely going to look into another service provider and the way you do business is very sad and extremely u professional . And you expect me to pay a bill this week for a service I haven't even been able to enjoy . This is ridiculous no one knows what's going on Comcast . Horrible service . Would appreciate it, if anyone that works for Comcast can assist me at this point before I cancel I would greatly appreciate it . [email protected]

    Hi npetten,
Welcome to the Palm forums! Sorry to hear about your issue. The reason that you haven't heard similar stories is that GPS completely works on the phone. I don't know why support would tell you otherwise.
First, let's check to make sure you enable GPS on your phone.
Open the Location Services App (it's on the 3rd page of the launcher)
Tap Preferences in the top left
    Tap Locate Me Using...
Make sure GPS and Google Services both have checkmarks next to them
Now, try using GPS again. If your still having problems, please post back with answers to the following questions:
What application are you using to get your location?
What is your signal strength? Can you browse the web?
    Has GPS ever worked before?

    Hi  sparhk, and welcome.
One of the Lenovo staff who frequents the forum put out a call to help you in a private forum.  I do a little Linux, so I poked into it.  To my amazement my first Google hit was your thread where you indicate you have solved the problem.  (At least, it _looks_ like you...)
May I respectfully suggest that a post back here indicating success would be a nice touch?  That way anyone who passes by looking for help with this issue will have a better chance of finding it.  For posterity, here it is (see post number 25):

Those are hardware issues. You can try all of the software troubleshooting if you want. Restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. If that does not work, then your only option is to pay someone for something. The decision is up to you, but I've provided the options.

Cannot get Broadcom 4311 to work with my custom linux kernel 2.6.27. The scenario is that it is properly installed and works with Arch's stock kernel and the vanilla kernel.
As my computer boots, I get the error message:

I know I don't have it as a module (I wanted it to be in the kernel), but I tried it anyhow, lol.

Question: Any idea what I am missing?
I'll be going through some trail-and-error runs for now.

Well, it's still not working. I tried just taking parts from the working kernel and replacing the parts of my custom kernel under wirelss, but that didn't do the trick. I am probably going to copy anything related to PCI and IO Mapping next do the BAR collision and b43-pci-bridge error I am getting and see if that works.

  • [Solved For Now] Wireless Not Working on HP Pavillion 15-n278sa

EDIT: I seem to have fixed it for now by following this tutorial, I don't know how long it will last though: http://askubuntu.com/questions/337785/w … -c55-a5281
    Hi there guys,
I have been having some problems with my Wireless under arch on my lapotop, which is a HP Pavillion 15-n278sa. I've had the wireless working twice before, but a reboot broke it both times. The Ethernet works perfectly fine. The first time I have no idea how I got it to work, it was a combination of a bunch of different threads and eventually I modprobed the wireless adapter and it worked (this no longer works).
This is the output of when I try to connect to the wireless using wifi-menu:
Job for [email protected] failed. See 'systemctl status [email protected]' and 'journalctl -xn' for details.
So I run systemctl status [email protected] and journalctl -xn and this is the output of the both respectively:
    Systemctl output:

The network cards that I am using are the following (output from lspci -nn)
02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8188EE Wireless Network Adapter [10ec:8179] (rev 01)
03:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller [10ec:8136] (rev 07)
This one being the wireless controller:
02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8188EE Wireless Network Adapter [10ec:8179] (rev 01)
If there is anything more I can provide I would happily do it, I really need the wireless to work under this laptop. I know it works, I have had it working under Arch and it works under Ubuntu no problem. I am not sure if it is a driver problem, or if it's a problem with netctl. It looks more like a problem with netctl as after netctl updated it started working, and after a reboot it broke again.
    Thanks so very much everyone,

  • U430 Touch: wireless not working with windows 7

My friend bought a U430 Touch with Windows 8. He hated Win 8 so I helped him downgrade to Win 7. Now the wireless dowsn't work. Ethernet works fine and we are able to get on the internet, but wireless does not work at all. I've been to Lenovo's site and downloaded the drivers from their support site, but nothing weems to work. Is there a special driver I'm missing?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It's possible that they are shipping with Intel only at the moment, but the Hardware Maintenance Manual lists two non-Intel cards: a Liteon, and a "non-Intel", whatever that means.

  • Broadcom BCM4357 wireless not working *

    Hi!
    now its about wifi drivers...
Ijust can't get my wifi work!
I had found drivers on intel page and I had followed instructions to install
installation requires only to copy one file to /lib/firmware ,so I did it.
but wifi is still not working... instalation manual says athat kernel needs to have enabled hottpluging function which should be found at : device drivers -> Generic Driver Options -> Hotplug firmware loading support ,but its not there!
can someone tell me where in make menuconfig of kernel 2.6.35-4 can I find it ?
or can someone just help mi get it work?
I did search a lot but nothink helped...
    thanks a lot!

  • Satellite L300 - Wireless not working at all

    Hi everyone,
Im new here and my name is Jodie. My husband and I bought new laptops a couple of weeks ago, the Satellite L300.
On my husbands one the wireless just stopped working, the switch is on but no light is on. I've tried FN and F8 is says the wireless is not working. I then checked in the device manager under netwrok adapters to see if it said the same as mine and the Wireless Adapter has vanished? It's the Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Netwrok Adapter.
Can anyone help? Can't bellieve this has happened and they are only 2 weeks old :(
    Thanks Guys
    Jodie

    >Can't bellieve this has happened and they are only 2 weeks old
I understand what you mean but if you check this forum and all questions here your problem is not so complicated. You cannot even imagine which problems people have with notebooks. Sometimes I ask myself what people do with notebooks. :)
Back to your problem: Jodie if there is no way to get WLAN to work I recommend you to use most radical but most effective way to test WLAN functionality install OS again using HDD recovery image. After doing this you will have factory state and all hardware components should be installed properly.
Enable WLAN using WLAN switch, be sure WLAN is enabled with FN+F8 and scan the area.
    It must work.

  • Discoverer Viewer/Plus does not work with Custom EUL owned by APPS user

I am facing a unique issue with one of my customers. They have a custom EUL named XX_EUL_US and this does not allow connecting through discoverer viewer or discoverer plus.
I have worked with custom EULS before at other customers and this was never the case. I am being told that this issue is happening as the EUL owner is APPS instead of some other user. Is this the case? Can discoverer viewer not be used with EULs owned by apps user?
Please not that the Default EUL in ICX profiles is set to this EUL and no other EUL profiles are set.
    Appreciate any thoughts on this.

    Hi,
I am not sure what you mean when you say you have a "custom EUL named XX_EUL_US". The EUL table should be created in a schema named XX_EUL_US. This will then be the EUL owner. You will then need to connect to Discoverer Administrator as the EUL owner and grant privileges to Apps users and/or responsibilities.
The user should then be able to connect to Discoverer Plus/View using their apps username, responsibility and password.
To be able to connect directly from an apps menu you need to have the ICX parameters set correctly. The ICX: Discoverer Default End User Layer Schema Prefix should be set to XX_EUL (without the _US). The ICX: Discoverer End User Layer Language Override should be set to US or not set at all.

  • Wireless not working at a hopeless tech person's house

Wireless doing fine then I tried to connect the new direct tv connect kit. First step was to press my wan button on router till it blinked then press something on the direct tv connect thing. Never got it to talk to each other. But then none of my wireless things worked so I tried a unplug of modem and router and that didnt reset everything so then I hit the reset button and now my little button no longer lights up yellow. The tiny power light is flashing (not holding steady).did I ruin my router?

Is that a Linksys/Cisco router? What is the model number? Reset again the router for 30 seconds and then unplug/replug the router for 30 seconds also. Observe after that if power light goes solid and if ever it still flash after a minute or two, try to plug the router in a different power outlet. If you get the power solid after the reset, reconfigure the router again for wired and wireless internet.
