C6-00 Qwerty Keypad

I received a black nokia c6 for xmas, and when i looked at the qwerty board on it in the bottom right of the pad, where the punctuation is present on any english pictures of the phone, there were foreign letters (A and O with dots above them). i shrugged this off, but when i came to type, the orange letters that would require the Fn key, some of them weren't working. i then realised that the keypads setting was that to the english pad shown on the picture, but my phone had a foreign keypad on it. an no matter what writing language i changed to when texting, the key input would not match the representation on some of the keys
When i went into the store it was gotten from, the person behind the desk had never seen anything like it, i compared it to one they had on display to show the problem, but reassured me that it was an apparent upgrade the phones had now had, but unfortunately had no others in stock to compare with, except the same black display one. they said to try searching for an update online that might sort it, but i don't believe there is anything to sort it but just a new keypad to go on it or new keypad programming
Is my phone just a freak accident or are others having the same problem???
and if anyone knows how i cud get this sorted out the best way, please let me know

Give it in Nokia care after taking backup of the data.

Hi! You can't do it without jailbraek. And I offer you "don't try it"!

  • No ipad qwerty keypad on screen

After the OS 7 update, the 1st row of US qwerty keypad disappeared in my ipad when I type.
Qwertz or Azerty array options work but the most popular qwerty keypad lost its 1st  row.
    This really makes me annoying.
I tried reset and restart but nothing works.
    Can anybody help me?

    See if this helps.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • Is there any non qwerty keypad for iphone?

the iphone qwerty keypad is too slow to write sms. I would like to know if there is any possibility to get a non qwerty keypad.

        brooks2062,
Congratulations on recently purchasing an iPhone! I have the iPhone myself and love it, so I am sure you will as well. In regards to downloading music on your device, the best way to complete this task is going to be going through iTunes or the Apple App store. The Apple App store should have several 3rd party applications you can download music and play on your device. In addition any music that you have saved in your iTunes library can be synced and transfered to youre device.
    Thank you,

Are there any apps to change from a qwerty keypad to the normal mobile phone keypad?

Yes there is a couple of multitap (numeric keypad) apps available in the appstore, ive tested on of them and it was not good (messy interface, small buttons etc.). But i after some researching i found that its a new one coming up that looks really good, its called "multitap text". Google the name, and youll find their website for more info

  • I can't find a phone. Please help.

Seem to be spinning my wheels here.
I re-upped my cell phone plan on Saturday and bought an LG Xenon. The hoops I have to jump through to sync with my data on my Mac are too much. I need to exchange it, but I've spent hours on the web and the phone between my carrier, apple, manufacturers, plug-in coders and everyone's sister and can't find the phone that suits my needs. Anyone who's been here that can help would be greatly appreciated. Here are my parameters:
    Carrier: AT&T
Must be able to easily sync with Apple's iSync.
I can't afford the extra $30/mo for the Data Service (don't need to have internet on my cell) which leaves out the iPhone and many others.
BUT I did up my plan to cover texting, so having a phone with a QWERTY keypad is desired, but not 100% necessary.
<$50 with new contract which I already did.
    Any insight? thanks!

Apple should have a more updated list of iSync compatible phones on this site (note that not a single phone on your list is on their most current list from March?!?).
The list that Apple provides is 100% up-to-date as of the current version of iSync. Apple haven't added any new phones to iSync since October 2007.
As explained in the other thread, Apple's list only contains the phones supported by iSync natively "out-of-the-box". It does not include the hundreds of additional models supported by manufacturer and third-party iSync Plugins.
Unfortunately, there is no "master list" of native, manufacturer and third-party supported phones. Apple does provide links to a number of third-party iSync Plugin providers web-sites here, but that is by no means all providers.
Manufacturers stray from standards all too often, seemingly for proprietary sake.
Nokia and Sony Ericsson include SyncML in almost all their phones (except for the most basic ones). Samsung have started including SyncML in a lot of their phones now. LG included SyncML in 3 of their recent models.
AT&T should offer a better variety and be more consistent and current across their distribution channels.
That's definately true. From what I've seen, most US network operators offer a very limited range of phones, and in some cases even cripple the standard features (Bluetooth, syncing etc.). Here in the UK (and the rest of Europe) there are literally dozens of iSync compatible phones on sale in every mobile phone store, for every network - so you've always got a choice. It's a shame the same isn't true in the US.
P.S. I'm in hopes that some of the plug-in coders will be making one for this phone soon. please reply here if you see anything.
If the phone has SyncML then its quite possible a plugin will appear at some point, but often with less mainstream models, it's an end user who takes that task on and perhaps posts the plugin to their own web-site. But it could be weeks, months or never before a plugin appears.

  • Should I buy a n97

OK guys and girls my question is simple
    Should I buy the n97
I currently have a n96 and have been very happy with this I am wondering if the n97 is anything different to the n96. I no it has the application and the keyboard but is it any better for battery stability camera etc or is it just the same but in a better case?
I dont pretend to know everything like some people on these boards i am just trying to help. Its not all about the kudos.

    totoanon wrote:
Is the n97 really any different to the n96 that I have. My main problem with the n96 was the lack of firmware updates and the poor battery and the blurry camera, It looks to me like I will get the same problems with the n97
It's a very different beast than the N96.
The N97 has much better battery life than the N96.  It has a 1500mah battery compared to pathetic 950mah in the N96.
In my opinion the camera on the N97 is better than the N96's which I never liked.  I've had some very nice sharp pictures from it under good lighting.  V20 seems to have improved it further.  Under low light it struggles like most phone cams but the results i've got from the N97 are much better than what I got from an N96.   The post above is incorrect as it's not the same part that's used in both phones.
Also don't forget the touchscreen, larger screen, higher resolution that's great compared to the N96's fuzzyness.  You get the FM transmitter, improved audio quality through headphones, USB charging, full qwerty keypad, 32gb plus card slot and good build quality compared to the N96.  The web browser on the N97 is also much better than the N96's.  Personally i've never had any out of memory errors on the N96 or N97.
The N97 has been well served by updates so far but obviously some networks (and countries) are worse than others at passing them on to the customer.
Ultimately only you can make the decision if you want one or not.  Like I said yesterday you are far more likely to see negative comments on a support forum than positive ones.

  • Can anyone help unlock my Droid 4 ?  (phone now in UK)

In the UK we don't get any QWERTY keypads with Touchscreen other than Blackberry, so, seeing the great Droid 4 we set about getting one.  BUT, can't unlock it from Verizon to use on 3 (UK network)
I don't have any original account details but have the HEX & DEC numbers.  Can anyone help?

        Hi ukdroid4,
Greetings to the U.K.! The Droid 4 is a great phone! We are only able to unlock them for Verizon Wireless customers to use while overseas.  You may want to reach out to your cell phone provider in the U.K. to see if they can refer you somewhere to have it unlocked.  I do apologize for any inconveniences.

  • Video in Flash player does not play in C6

I have purchased Nokia C6-00, but in this phone videos do not play in Flash player. It gives me warning message that flash player required to play this video. On flash player site, it is mentioned that android 2.2 is required to install Flash player on your mobile.
How is it possible to play video in flash player on Nokia C6-00?

Symbian anna (new software version) update is available for C6-01 and C7 but there is no software update for C6-00 (with QWERTY keypad).
I am eagrly waiting for software update for C6-00. At least to provide support of FLASH LITE 4.0 so that flash video can be played on C6-00 handset.
I am facing one more problem with Skype utility on C6-00. I have installed latest Skype version on my mobile but even with 3.5G network speed, Skype login does not work.
When ever I sign-in on Skype, it will become idle in between signing process and nothing is happened and after frustration I have to close Skype application.

  • For Nokia - E52

This is Nokia at its best!!! Plain and simple.
I've played with lots of mobile devices but this one is by far the best I've come around.
It's a perfectly balanced mobile phone in terms of size and weight!!! It's wide but it's not to wide to say it doesn't fit in your hand while being very light at the same time, the width and the weight making it a very balanced mobile phone. Sometimes I was actually forgetting that I had the phone in my hand. The screen is of a good size for this form factor, and the keyboard it is a delight to type on. Basically when it comes to the physical dimensions this phone is having everything E51 missed. I really mean I can't get enough of that keypad! The keys are just PERFECT, wide without being to big or chunky, so you can type very efficiently on it without pressing the wrong buttons(unlike the C5's ones that are big but in the wrong way). The size and shape of the keys together with the T9 dictionary can easily match the efficiency of a qwerty keypad. Actually I don't see the sense on having a qwerty if you know how to handle this device. It is definitely an improvement over the already very good keypad that E51 had.
It has a very good processor, having a more powerful one would have made to much of an impact over the battery life. Excellent battery 1500Mah Li Po.
Drawbacks? Or why I wouldn't purchase this cell phone? I travel a lot and because of this I need HSDPA on most of the frequencies out there.
NOKIA just issue a second edition of this mobile phone with HSDPA on 850/900/1800/1900/2100, almost the same frequencies you have on the N8 and you've got yourself the perfect candy bar phone!!!

To me it is one of the best handsets nokia made,
it has every thing any phone can have.
Yes it has a camera. it is a camera on a phone. what more can we ask of a PHONE.
High speed data. compass. it has more than most phones. Most important 1500mA battery.( the n900 has 1300mA battery>>> i ask why?)
i do my emails, twitter, sms. mms, maps( very acurate in the uk but off by 100meters in nigeria)
But i guess it has been stoped in production. a few bugs in the firmware( way much better than the N97, lol)
Very good Phone overall. next phone is N900 most likely my last nokia unless..............

I have a droid 2 global but it is prepaid and now after the latest update it doesnt work. Can verizon replace my prepaid phone or do I have to purchase another phone?

Currently, I am not showing a way to remove the Street View for Google Maps application from the device. If you are adamant about removing this feature, the next available option would be doing a factory reset. This can be completed through the following steps:
    Factory Reset option 1
From the main screen, touch menu tab
    Touch Settings
    Touch Privacy
    Touch Factory Data reset
    Touch Reset Phone
    Touch Erase Everything
Warning: This will erase all data from your phone, including:
    Your Google account
System and application data and settings
    Downloaded Applications
It will not erase: Current System software and bundled applications; SD Card files, such as music or Photos
Factory Reset option 2  - Warning this will reset device back to original factory settings.
    Turn off the phone
Power on phone while pressing "X" key on qwerty keypad - release "X" and power key after you see Motorola batwings.
You should now see an "!" in a triangle with Android guy
Press the "Search" key on qwerty keypad to enter factory menu, this will unhide the menu and show the following options
    Reboot system Now
    Apply sdcard:update.zip
    Wipe Data/Factory Reset
    Wipe Cache Partition
Use Vol Up / Vol down to navigate to "wipe data/factory reset" and then use Camera side key or Menu key to select "wipe data/factory reset"
Use Vol Up / Vol down to navigate to  "Yes delete all user data" and then use Camera key to select "Yes - delete all user data"
Wait for operation to complete (maybe 1 minute or so) and then press camera key to select "reboot system now"

  • Has anyone received the new update for the X6?

has anyone received the new update for the X6 with the updated browser? what is the firmware version?
    Greece Nokia X6 RM-559 v40.0.002

    I agree with Vinimutta!!
*slide to unlock with digital clock & sms & missed call notification
    *support for homescreeen widgets
    *qwerty keypad in portrait mode
every single update so far was pathetic attemp to fool us and make us happy.
there is no change at all from v30,31, and 32. exect the slightly smaller font for text input in v32.
nokia promises alot in the new update, (browser, smiler and map)
hope it leaves up to the expectation and include the portrait qwerty, homescreen and lockscreen.
Why is it so hard to implement?
slide to unlock and homescreen is already available in c6, and the portrait qwerty is available in 5800.
its no like we are asking for impossible like continuous autofocus for video recording!!

  • Emoji - emoticons issue

On my iPhone4 in iOS6 mail I can use and send emoji,
they are also properly displayed in sent messages.
When I receive mail emoji on my iPhone (mostly from Japan)
    they show up as boxes.
On my MacBookPro with Mountain Lion it's the same as on my iPhone,
with Lion before upgrading to Mountain Lion also same issue.
On my old 24" iMac Core 2 Duo with Lion installed all incoming emoji
    are properly displayed!!!
I cannot upgrade this iMac to Mountain Lion.
Everything is synced via iCloud (previously MobileMe).
Upgrading from iOS5 to 6 didn't resolve the issue.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I was facing the first two problems i.e. Smiley or emoji disappears and no tone only vibration in my nokia asha 210..
My second problem of tone was resolved as i did these steps...
Go to: options>>settings>> notifications>>personal messages..from there...by default it was selected as no tone..change it to custom tone....make sure to choose the custom tone from your phone tones...which is located just below the custom option....
Then onwards your phone will ring also....I HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU...
the emoji problem is still in my phone.....and i have updated my whatsapp version...but it didn't worked....i think its because qwerty keypad...whatsapp is specially developed for touchscreen phones...my freinds are using it in touch screen it is working perfectly....

  • Dont ever buy N97 mini

I bought N97 mini about 7 months back while I was working in another country. I came back to India. I got frustrated to the core that I almost threw the mobile out on the road.
The following happens at least once in a month:
    1) Both the touch screen and the qwerty keyboard stops working.
    2)  If I switch off the mobile and switch on again, the qwerty keypad alone works only for about two minutes or till I lock the keypad. That is also not of much use as there is not back button in the qwerty keypad.
    3) If someone calls me, I wont able to attend as nothing else works in the phone. I have to switch off the phone and switch it on again. Within the two minutes that it is working, I have to use the qwerty keypad to browse through the contacts or call log and call that number. Even worse, if i am not able to connect to the caller due to bad network or if he doesnt attend. I have to do this step from the first again.
    4) I have to restart the phone even to read an sms that i received.
This condition happens all of a sudden at least once in a month and the phone stays in the state for a minimum of 2 days and then automatically comes back to life. Even worse, if i went to nokia care, they say that i cant use my warranty as it was bought in another country and it would cost around Rs.6000 to replace the touch screen.
Literally I have been scolding nokia using all the bad words I know in my mind. Because I am not able to attend important office calls, family calls and nothing. I have to call back everyone after a lot of hardship.
To conclude, this is not a mobile. It is just a brick. Is this the type of mobile Nokia provides to customers who spend more than Rs20000 of their hard earned money? I have advised all my friends never to buy nokia smart phones. Go ahead with samsung.
Good bye nokia. I am sure this will be the last nokia product i ever used.
Note : On browing through the internet I found that I am not the only person with this problem. Almost all the n97 mini users are having the same problem. So dont come to me and say that this is just a rare case of defective device.

Seriously? Either they knew exactly what was wron with it, which would have made sense if they have had the same issue fixed quite a few times, or they were totally ignorant and unhelpful. Both possible.
However, from the symptoms that your device is showing, it seems pretty obvious to me that it is a fault which needs some kind of repair and in that case we cannot help you as self repairs aren't allowed to be discuss here along with other warranty voiding topics.
What about checking out some other local repair shop?
That's really all we can do for you here.
