Hi,
we have a C6 that my wife uses to call her patients (she is a GP). We want to be able to make the phone anonymous to them to prevent patients calling back directly. They have to call back to the landlines and reception staff log the calls.

But this feature is only provide to VIP persons by the service providers.
Another way out will be to purchase a new SIM card and ask the operator to not to activate incoming calls to that sim.

I have a lot of contacts on Skype, but some of them I either do not know well enough or do not trust enough, and I don't want them to have access to my phone number unless I explicitly give it to them. I'm sure a lot of other people have the same issue--many people use Skype voice chat with strangers to better coordinate their playing video games, etc., but don't want any of those people to have their phone number. On both Skype's website and program, I've tried to edit my profile but the phone number option is greyed out and set to "Contacts". I don't want my contacts to have access to my phone number. I want it private, like my email address. Is there a way to achieve this?

Unfortunately, no there is not. For those items that are set by default to be displayed to your contacts, and which you do not want certain contacts to see that particular data, the only option you have is to leave that setting as "blank" or "not specified."

Is it possible to make an iWeb site accessible to mobile phones? (I'm in Japan)
I've tried making a tiny site but my own phone (au A5516T by Toshiba) can't display it.
The URL is accepted but displays just a white blank screen.
I can't see anything about it in this iWeb forum or iWeb Help. Which I guess means that either it's impossible or that it's so elementary I shouldn't have to ask!
Is there some special code involved?

Mine works with the tel URL syntax already in there.
A couple of thoughts, if that's not working for you you could make your own hyperlink to look something like this:

You can't; not natively, anyway, since the iPad is not a phone. If you want to make a call, you'll need to use some third-party Voice-Over-IP service such as Skype.
I'm not sure what you're asking when you ask about sending a message. If you mean a text message, you can either use iMessage, which can send messages to other users also running iMessage, or you can look in the iTunes Store for SMS apps, a few of which are available. They use separate services to actually send the message and so require an Internet connection, either WiFi or 3G.

I have been using BT broadband for some years using a BT Homehub 1.5.
My Freesat box is plugged in to my Homehub, so that I can reliably get BBC iPlayer on the main household TV, so I am unable to move the hub to improve wireless reception elsewhere in the house.
The wireless connection in most of the house is OK, but in one room the reliability is poor and often signal strength shows as low. There is a phone line in this room and I was wondering whether it is possible to make a connection to this line using either a separate modem (Speedtouch 330), or a second hub.
If this is a possible solution then the computer connected to the new modem would affectively be a wired connection, leaving the wireless option still available to the homehub. Both the new modem and the homehub would need to be able to access my BT Broadband account.
If this is technically not possible I seem to have options of using an ethernet connection from the 'poor reception' room to my hub (not really practical as the house has solid floors and routing the cable would be a nightmare), or perhaps upgrading my hub (and wireless dongle) to a later version. Any advice would be very welcome.

No, I would strongly advise that you keep using the home hub 1.5, as in my opinion, the version 1.0 and 1.5 are the most stable of the home hubs, and do not have some of the problems of the later versions.
If you want to add extra wireless coverage, then an additional wireless access point is the best option, connected to the far end of the powerline adapters.

As said in the topic, it's not possible to paste a phone number together with the + sign in front of the country code. Instead you need to add + manually and paste the rest of the number. It means that when selecting the phone number text you need to make sure you miss out the + sign before hitting CTRL-C.

Don't know if this is a solution as I only have personal Email on my phone, but when I set the email widget it is populated by Hotmail account (the first one I set up, and coincidentally my main email address) then if I chose inbox within the widget I can open and view my Ovi Mail account, which I use a lot less. My theory being , that if you were to remove all your mailboxes and then set them up again, setting up the mailbox you want as default first, it may be close to what you actually want !

I've been using apps both on the Android market and iTunes store.I've noticed that some apps
such as "Whatsapp messenger" which are free across all markets are paid apps on iTunes store.

Just FYI, Whatsapp is not free indefinitely even on Android phones. They give a one-year trial period after which you have to pay per year for the subscription (a miniscule amount, but you have to pay nonetheless), whereas with the iOS app you pay once up front and then don't have to pay again. So in the long run, the iOS version comes out cheaper (at least unless Whatsapp changes their pricing model). And also just FYI, Whatsapp doesn't work on the iPod touch, only on the iPhone.
In any case, as planb77 said, pricing is totally up to the developer of the app. It's completely the developer's choice what price to charge for an app.

You might be able to use your iPhone sim. FaceTime calls are only possible over wifi or you can get something like the Skype For iPad app from the store if you want to make video calls over 3G - but you can't do 'normal' phone calls with the iPad.

You need a special phone which allows wifi calling.
The iPhone does not have this option.
You can get a micro-cell device, which plugs into your network internet and is basically a mini cell phone tower. It will work with regular cell phones (includiing iPhone).
