C6150 Win 7 Full Featured software won't install

I can install a printer driver and print no problem.  I am using on a network.  I can see the printer no problem.  I want to use the scan to computer function, and found that I must install the layest full featured software set - HP solution Center - to do that.  I have downloaded the file, it expands, then either does nothing, or I get an error message that says runtime error - this application has asked runtime to terminate it in an unusual way,  I cannot get it to install.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.
Shut down firewalls
Redownloaded the file.
Tried the patch for the AMD C50 processor - no work, but I have an AMD FX-6100 3.3 Ghz anyway.
I have restored to a point before doing the uninstalls.
I have run C Cleaner to clean up bad links
Now it seems that all of the HP software on this machine is hopelessly lost,  I get file not found or missing shortcut error messages.  The uninstaller is gone, so I can't uninstall.
Please help!

Hi smi5ths,
I understand that you are having an issue trying to install the software for the Photosmart C6150. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue.
I recommend downloading the HP Officejet Pro Software and Driver Removal Utility and running a Level 3 uninstall.
Then download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows to find and install the correct driver software for your printer.
I hope this information helps, let me know how it goes.
Thank you,
I worked on behalf of HP.

  • Problem Installing HP Officejet J4580 Full Feature Software and Driver

    Hallo !
I recently installed a new 2T harddrive and performed a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on my e-Machine Model ET-1331-g-05w. The clean install of Windows 7, installation of the e-Machine drivers, und 325+ Microsoft  Updates was successful. The System is running fine and protected by Kaspersky 2015 Internet Security. Please note this WAS NOT an OS upgrade from Vista to Win7 - just a clean-install of the original Win7 64-bit OS.
After creating an ISO and Full Backup(nothing else has been installed at this point) I wan't to re-install my HP Officejet J4580 All-in-one. I have the original CD but I know that it can only be used on an XP or Vista OS - so I went to the www3.hp.Offical  HP Drivers and Support downloaded the Product Installation Software for:
HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver
    File: OJJ4500_FULL_13.exe
    Released: 2014-09-03
    Version: 13.0.0
My printer wasn't connected via USB - the install ran for about 30 and when I asked to connect the USB cable the splash screen told me it was finishing the install but then it failed with a message unable to located J4580 Drivers. The install that place the Solution Center, HP Document Manager, and HP Photosmart ICON's on my Desktop - when I opened the Solution Center - it said that it couldn't communicate to the printer. The printer and USB cable work fine on my Vista Desktop, my Vista Business Notbook. and my IBM X40 running WP SP3.
    I've also tried running:
    1) HP Update Software Utility - hpsetup.exe
    2) Hp Print and Scan Doctor - HPPSdr.exe
    3) HP Officejet Software and Driver Removal Utility - OJJ4500_Scrubber_13.exe
but the 2nd attempt to re-install failed too.
I then reloaded my clean ISO - and tried the Product Installation Software for the Basic Drivers
HP Officejet Basic Print and Scan Driver
    File: OJJ4500_Basic_13.exe
    Released: 2014-09-03
    Version: 13.0.0
The Basic Drivers worked fine -but I need the Full Driver. I double checked and the WIN 7 64-bit is shown as a supported OS for the Full Driver - any suggestions on how to proceed? I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile installing  XP virtual machine and installing the Full Drivers in VM. If I go that route - it creates other issues such as sync'n file from 64-bit to VM, then switching back & forth between VM to process other work,  and then the issue of having to scan in VM then sync the folder to 64-bit side.

    Hello @Tom_Ma,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I would like to assist you today with installing your HP Officejet J4580 All-in-One Printer on your Windows 7 computer. Thank you for including all of the troubleshooting steps you have already attempted and your Operating System details in your post. At this point I am going to run you through some additional troubleshooting steps to get this Officejet successfully installed with the Full Feature driver. Please follow the steps below.
    Step 1: Uninstall Drivers:
It is important that we have a nice clean slate to work with for troubleshooting. Therefore, I am going to have you uninstall the existing software on your computer.
    Click on your Start menu
    Select All Programs
    Select the HP folder
    Select your HP Officejet
    Select Uninstall
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the uninstall of your printer. Once the uninstall is complete, please proceed to the next step.
    Step 2: Clear Temp Files:
    Click on your Start menu
In the 'search programs and files' box located right above Start after you click on it, type %temp% and hit enter on your keyboard
When the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will now highlight.
Select the 'delete' button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains temporary internet files. No actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting the Temp files. Should a Temp file still be used than you will automatically get the pop up to 'skip' that item.
Close the Temp folder once it is emptied
Right click the Recycling Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycling Bin
Step 3: Unlock System Administrator Account:
There is the potential that there is something within your User Account that may be blocking the drivers from installing properly. Therefore, I am going to have you unlock the hidden System Administrator Account and install your device under there. Then, when you log back into your normal User Account the printer and all Full Feature software should be installed and functional for you. If all goes well, we we 'hide' the System Administrator Account once troubleshooting is complete.
Go to your Start menu and under the 'search programs and files' box type CMD
CMD will populate as a search option above, just right click on it and 'run as administrator'
Once CMD (Command Prompt) opens, type net user administrator /active:yes and hit enter
Next, close CMD and restart your computer
When your computer comes on log into the new account that should show. It will be called Administrator and will not have a password on it.
If your computer automatically logs into your account after restart than go to your start menu click the arrow beside 'shutdown' and choose 'switch user'. Now log into the Administrator account we just unlocked
Under the Administrator account download and install the drivers: HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver
Please follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation of your printer
Once the installation is complete, please test printing and scanning to confirm that everything is now working properly.
If everything installs fine, log out of this account and back into your normal User Account. All the Software and Drivers for your product should show installed now on your account.
Under your User Account please test printing and scanning again to confirm that everything is still working.
If everything works fine, you will want to Hide the Administrator account.
Step 4: Hide System Administrator Account:
Go to your Start menu and under the 'search programs and files' box type CMD
CMD will populate as a search option above, just right click on it and 'run as administrator'
Once CMD (Command Prompt) opens, type net user administrator /active:no and hit enter
Next, close CMD and restart your computer
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you!

  • How long does it take to download and install full feature software for Officejet 4500 g510g-m?

I have been updating my software in hopes I can get my Officejet 4500 g510g-m to work wirelessly but the full feature software has been at the "installing software" stage for over an hour. Is this normal? Also, anyone know where I can find a step by step guide on setting up my printer for wireless use? Is it even possible?

The download speed is dependent on many things, but is often a factor of your Internet provider's service.  If you are on basic DSL, then over an hour is not out of line.  If you are on cable, something is wrong.

  • Can't Install C5200 All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software- Runtime error Prevents Installation

I am running Windows 7 64-bit and I am unable to install the HP Photosmart C5200 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software that I downloaded from the website.
After extraction, I get the following error:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: c:\Users\MyUsername~1\AppData\Local\Temp\7zS7526\Setop.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information
Can anyone help me solve this problem?
The actual printer and all associated drivers are installed and working correctly.

    Hey cmsciulli,
I would first like to welcome you to the HP Support Forums!
When getting the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error message. The first step that I would suggest doing, is to make sure that you do have the latest update. I have included a link to the latest available download from Microsoft for 'Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4'. Along with this update, I would also suggest completing any other Windows updates that are available to you.
After you have installed all the necessary updates, I would suggest restarting your computer, if you have not already. Then try installing the printer software again.
If you are still experiencing the same error message when trying to install the printer, please let me know the version of Windows that you are currently running. If you need assistance in finding the version, I have included the document 'Which Windows operating system am I running?'.
    Looking forward to your reply!

  • Hp officejet HP driver software won't install past step 1

Just got a new laptop with Windows 8.1 64-bit.  Trying to install my H470 mobile printer on this new pc and was able to download the HP Officejet full feature software and driver, but when I try to install the software, it won't get past step 1 of 8.

    Hey @rk3000mem,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you're not able to install your HP Officejet H470 Mobile Printer on your Windows 8.1 computer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this issue. Now you mention that you're not able to get past step 1 of 8. This would appear to be a driver conflict. There may be a conflict occuring between a program on your Windows 8.1 computer and the print driver. Please follow the steps below to resolve this issue.
    Step 1: Uninstall Drivers:
Even though the installation is failing, there is a chance that some software made its way onto your computer. To ensure that we have a nice clean slate to work with, please follow the steps below.
    Please disconnect your USB Cable.
Open your Start screen, by clicking on the Windows button on the bottom left hand corner of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows button on the bottom left of your keyboard to the right of the Ctrl button
Once the Start screen opens, type Programs and Features
Click Programs and Features to launch it
Once Programs and Features opens a list of programs installed on your computer will populate
Scroll down the list of programs and look for your HP Officejet. Should you see your HP Officejet, select it and allow it to Uninstall.
Follow any onscreen instructions to complete the uninstall process.
Step 2: Clear the Temp Files:
    Open your Start screen again
Type Run and click on Run to launch it
In the Run box type %temp% and click OK
When the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will now highlight.
Select the 'delete' button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains temporary internet files. No actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting the temp files. Should a file in the Temp folder still be used, you will automatically get a pop up to 'skip' the item.
Once the Temp files are deleted, please close the folder
Right click the Recycling Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycling Bin
    Step 3: MSCONFIG:
There is a good chance that a program running in the background on your computer is causing the installation conflict. To resolve this conflict I am going to have you temporarily disable the background programs on your computer.
A background programming running on your computer may be causing interference when trying to reinstall your wireless printer. To ensure that no programs are going to cause issues, I'm going to have you temporarily disable the background programs on your computer.
Open your Start screen again by selecting the Windows button on the bottom left of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows button on the bottom left of your keyboard to the right of the Ctrl button.
Once the Start screen opens type Run. Click Run to open it.
In the Run box type msconfig and click on OK
When the System Configuration Window opens select 'Selective Startup' and uncheck Load Startup Items
Click the Services tab. Check the box at the bottom for Hide All Microsoft Services
    Select Disable All
    Select Apply and OK
    Restart your computer when prompted
    Step 4: Reinstall Drivers:
When your computer comes back on, please click here to download the appropriate drivers for your printer
Select the Download button on the top left
When prompted, allow the download to Run
Follow any onscreen prompts to reinstall your printer
If using a USB Cable, do  not plug in the USB Cable until the installer prompts you to
Once the installation is complete, please test printing.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Should you encounter any further issues, please let me know exactly what step fails and what it is doing (installing driver, loading software, configuring product, etc). I look forward to hearing from you!

  • 64-bit Win 7 SCANNER software does not install successfully for wired-networked HP Officejet L7750

My client has an Officejet L7750 on his network (in the same 192.168.111.nn subnet), and it functions OK as a printer.  I downloaded and installed each of the three sets of L7750 software designated as working with 64-bit Windows:
HP Officejet Pro Basic Print and Scan Driver
HP Officejet Pro Full Feature Software and Driver
HP Officejet Basic Driver - IT Professional Use Only
The end-result is the same with each.  The software runs for a time, finds the printer, continues the install, then runs for about 10 minutes "configuring the printer".  After a time, it displays a dialog box saying that the installation failed.  Sure enough, there is no software to run the scanner, but the printer still works.  (I also ran the install a couple of times and the printer could not be found.  When I continued installation anyway, the software left an icon on the desktop with some pretty unhelpful info for troubleshooting.)
After each failed install, I followed HP's documented procedure to remove the incomplete software.
My client needs to use the printer's scanning function, and occasionally send faxes, but cannot do so without a working L7750.  Of course, Windows 7 cannot even recognize a networked scanner.  Suggestions?   Do I have to move the printer to the USB port on one of the computers to have a working scanning function?  To do so would be mighty inconvenient, and essentially negate the networked capability of the printer.  Can the L7750 operate simultaneously as both a netwkred device and a USB device on a computer?
Thank you.  This one has me really stumped... Ben

    Hey @RobAhl,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you're not able to scan properly with Windows 7 64 bit. As you already know, while the Windows scan and Fax program is handy for basic scans, it is not practical if you need to scan PDF Files. I would be more than happy to assist you with your issue; however, I'm going to need a bit more information first.
What colour Laserjet is this in regards to?
How is the Laserjet connected to your computer?
In the meantime, on the HP Support Website there are Full Feature Software and Driver downloads available. Should your Laserjet have Windows 7 64 bit support than you should be able to go to the HP website and download the appropriate drivers as they are required in order to have full scan functionality.

Please let me know what you find out. Best of luck!

    Hey!
Sorry for the drop-off from the thread, I must have missed your response, I apologize.
When it comes down to the actual installation and issues revolving around that; it is no longer an HP printer issue. It is an MSI (Microsoft Installer) issue.
For MSI support, I recommend for you to call Microsoft Technical Support at 1-800-642-7676.

  • New Version of Software Won't Install

I am trying to download the newest version of Blackberry Desktop Manager (710_b042_multilanguage.exe) for PC and it won't install all the way.   The message keeps saying I have previous versions of the software still installed.  I tried installing all Blackberry apps, re-booting the PC and re-downloading the update from the website but it still comes up with the same message.   Any suggestions to correct so I can download the application?

I finally found a solution to this problem
While performing some searches, I discovered this affected BOTH Blackberry Link AND Blackberry Desktop Software, so there should have been some ... link between the two.
There are many threads around, but each one refers only to one of the two softwares, but the common problems led me to understand that this is unrelated to the software package itself, but to automatic driver installation procedures
carried out by the installer (Windows INstaller)
    Here's what I found:
Affected Environment: the problems shows up on Windows 7 and other Windows version machines, when installing or upgrading Blackberry Desktop Software, or Blackberry Link.
Sometimes, you have Desktop software installed and you want to install Link, OR you have Desktop software installed, it is working fine, but you need to upgrade it (automatically) to apply some software update -
some Desktop SOftware updates are required to update some devices.
    Symptomps
The problems shows in exactly the same way, during the final steps of installation of either Blackberry Desktop 7 OR Blackberry Link.
You get a warning message saying
"Some of the installation files from the previous versions of the software could not be removed. Make sure that no other application is using these files."
    open the
    Users\$_you_user_name\AppData\Local\Temp
directory. You may need to choose hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer to see these
Choose to sort files by creation date, scroll to the most recent files, and look for one of these
BB_Desktop.log, if you're installing Blackberry Desktop Software
    OR
BBLink_Install.log if you're installing Blackberry Link software.
Open your file with a text editor, and look for part of the error message "some of the installation"  using the Find feature
The cursor should stop where the error occoured.
If the line above shows something referring to InstallRimUsbDriver, there are good chances you're exactly in my situation.
If you DON'T find the same error I found, the line above the error message should give you a clue about what's going on, and you may want to share it on this forum, however the solution below may not be applicable to you.
    Solution
Before you begin BACKUP YOUR SYSTEM AND CREATE A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT. The best thing is to have a full hard drive image. While the following steps are quite straightforward, additional problems on your system may be creating a
potentially worse situation. Remember to backup your Blackberry device as well and also contacts/calendars/notes as these can be affected by the first sync after Desktop Software reinstallation.
While I'm listing all the steps I took, some of them may be unnecessary, however the uninstall/reinstall of Desktop Manager or Link software should be performed anyway, IMHO.
Uninstall Blackberry Desktop Software or Blackberry Link (I chose the "erase user data" option as well).
With the device still connected, Uninstall the Blackberry smartphone driver from Control Panel / Device Manager
    Disconnect the device.
Open a command  prompt window, and type
    pnputil.exe -e
you'll get a list of devices/drivers, scroll as needed and take note of the "oemxx.inf" entries regarding Research In Motion devices.
(xx can be a 2 or 3 digits number)
    type
    pnputil.exe -f -d oemxxx.inf
to remove the entries regarding the Research in Motion devices.
Chech that the operation succeded after each action.
    Restart system.
    At this point, yoy may start reinstalling the Blackberry Desktop or Blackberry Link Software;
You may still get the error.
Now perform again the above actions regarding pnputil.exe to see if there are still Research in Motion devices appearing.
    then open the
    Users\$_you_user_name\AppData\Local\Temp
directory. You may need to choose hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer to see these (you should have done this before, see above)
Choose to sort files by creation date, scroll to the most recent files, and look for one of these
rim_usb_install_log (date stamp) - choose the most recent
Open it with a text editor

Then rebooted and the install went fine.
Keep in mind that, whenever something goes wrong with these driver related action, you get little information in the main log file, but you get some more in this file.
After performing these action, reconnect the device, it should be recognized; you'll almost certainly need to reconfigure your sync preferences, and start synching again.
Please let me know if this helped.

  • IPod Updater Software won't install in computer

Help! I've searched through the discussion boards and can safely say I have not seen my specific problem with the iPod Updater software posted. For 8 weeks, I've installed the latest iPod Updater software (06-26; 09-23; 10-12) that I've downloaded from Apple and zdnet sites. Like most everyone, I kept getting the message that the iPod software is too old, etc. After each installation, everything seems to have downloaded properly. I then go on to the Utilities folder, and after I click on the latest Updater software to finish the installation, my computer keeps asking me to connect my iPod, and the Update and Restore buttons are greyed out. I even went up to the Options menu to Update and Restore and that's also not viable. I've then tried to reset, restore my iPod, nothing was working. I was even on the phone with Apple for 2.5 hours (iBook and iPod helpdesks) and the newest result is that my iPod is in the disk mode; and the folder with the exclamation mark is flashing. When I checked the Console log of my computer, I found this message:
2005-11-16 22:36:48.012 Installer[365] SUIS couldn't be installed because "This software cannot be installed on this computer."
2005-11-16 22:43:09.278 SystemUIServer[196] Trying to set an iPods time, though I have no user client.
Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone have any working solutions? Should I have posted this on the iBook site? I'm at my wits end.

I am experiencing the same problem. I cant seem to get the ipod updater to actually update my ipod.
itunes tends to freeze my system, even though Ive had a full format and reinstall. I think the trick is getting itunes v4.9 though I am struggling to find this version as well...

  • Officejet Pro 8500 a909g software won't install in widows 8

I have a HP Deskjet Pro 8500 a909g printer.  It's worked great on XP and windows 7.  On Windows 8 I can get the printer drivers to install, but not any of the HP software.  I have done a L4 uninstall, stopped all the TSR non-windows applications, cleaned all temp files/folders, disable the firewall and anti-virus and downloaded the version 14.8.0 Product installation software.  When I execute the Product installation software, it completes the "extraction", then simply disappears.  The app is still running, because I can't delete the file, but no screen or window comes up.
I have also tried the Install wizard and the HP Print and Scan Doctor, both failed saying they don't support this device after processing through the first 3-4 steps.
Has anyone successfully installed this software on Windows 8?  Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi pepps
I understand you are unable to install the printer on the Win 8.
The downloaded driver goes to the downloads folder, try and run it from there.
In our lab this where it extracted to but yours might be different.
Go to desktop, touch windows key and x key, select file
explorer, downloads folder. Double click it to run the
    extracted file. (ojaio6500e709fullwinww140)
    Run extracted file separately.
Go to desktop, touch windows key and x key, select file
explorer, c:, users, your computer name, app data, local,
temp 7zs4d1a, (Officejet 6500) open the setup.exe to run
    the installation.
Let me know if that works.
