C6180, Brand New Cartridge, replace cartridge message. Help Please!

I recently had to replace my Lt Blue ink cartridge on my printer, but now All I get is the message to replace it in order to print.  I didn't have any issues with this previous to replacing it.  I even tried using another new  ink cartridge hoping that perhaps it was just the cartridge itself.  But that didnt work either.  I also tried to use the nozzle cleaning option or the printer alignment option, with no luck, it wont let me do any of that either!  I am still getting the same message...Ive tried turning it off for a bit, unplugging it, cleaning the contacts and am having no luck yet. 
Please, is there something else I can do that I havent tried??  I cant afford another printer or even getting this one fixed by a professional.   I use this printer fairly often, especially to scan and print documents.  
I really would appreciate an answer, I have tried this twice b4 now and have yet to get any response..

  • Having problems with brand new battery installed...Help please!

    Here's my problem. I just recently replaced the battery on my 13" Macbook. The brand new battery ordered from Apple arrived on Saturday and up until last night everything was great. Now all of a sudden the computer is doing the same things it did with the old battery. I am getting the green light on the MagSafe Adapter even though the battery is not fully charged. I am also alternating between "Not Charging" on the battery icon and a "X" on the icon.
    I did some reading and tried resetting the PRAM and SMC. I even uninstalled Leopard and reinstalled Tiger (updating everything afterwards), thinking maybe it was a software issue. (I just recently installed Leopard and hoped it was just a bad install.) None of that really seems to work.
    There is one slight exception- the SMC reset. After I do the SMC reset I get the amber light from the adapter, the icon shows charging and all is well for about 15 to 30 minutes. Then I am back at square one.
    I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or ideas on what could be going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    It seems like you have eliminated all the easy fixes for your problem - what is left is the computer itself. Call Apple (800-275-2273) and explain the troubleshooting you have already done. They should set up a repair for your computer. If it is out of warranty you may have to pay for the repair.

  • Brand New To Photoshop...help please

         I'm a student using the free trial software. My first objective is to turn construction docments into resume pages. Fairly staight ahead I think, but I'm running into a few snags early.
        First, when I open files things are a bit blurry. Zooming in it's terrible. Not at all like the look I'm getting on the schools computer.  I'm getting a mesage to "uncheck the use graphics processor checkbox in the performance panel of the preferences dialouge" Is that the preoblem? Where is the preferences dialouge located? I'm assuming my laptop is lacking, but the graphics capability I do have works perfectly with other programs like Revit and AutoCAd
        Also, when I try to drag an opened file to the blank canvass I'm getting a message the says "The target document depth does not match the source document" Is that the bit rate?
        I'm setting the new page Resolution at 300 Pixels/inch. Is that on target?
       And if I could, one more question. Working with 11x17 my files are dragging over to the canvass no problem On 8 x 11 they wont drag over. Weird.
    Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    If you are getting a messgae that you should uncheck the graphics processor then you should do so. Some of the features of photoshop uses the graphics card to process instead of using the CPU. Off loading is meant to speed up the amount of time it takes to do something.
    If your graphics card lacks the power or does not have the ability to process, then the CPU must do it and therefore the reason to uncheck the option.
    As for where to find the preferences, that depends on whether or not you have a mac or windows computer. It is located in a difference menu structure for each system. This is why it is always important to specify which OS you have when posting a request.
    On Windows you will find it at the bottom of the edit menu. On Mac, I think there is one menu option just before file. Click that then go down to preferences. {ctrl-k on windows, command-k on mac}
    When the preference dialog opens there is a list of sub options on the right side find the one for performance. Click on it, then on the right side uncheck the graphics processor and finally click OK.
    As for the ppi, 300 is or was the recommended value for printing. Some now recommend less. It is a personal preference of balancing between file size and quality. I still use 300ppi as that is what I was taught years ago.
    As for physical size it should not matter what size it is when you drag a file, it should go to the document's canvas. It could be possible that either you are not seeing the image becasue it is too large or too small. Or you are seeing an affect from the graphics card.
    When you drag the image onto the canvas. try zooming in or out if that does not help, let us know.

    Do you get this window when you hold down the Command+Option keys and launch iPhoto?
    If not then you're not holding down both keys long enough.

    If those photos were part of the camera roll, they were part of the backup as well and you can restore from the latest backup you made on the old computer. After that transfer the photos to the new PC, follow this article: iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
    Then sync again to the new one, which will erase the phone again.
    You can also try to copy the backup folder from the old computer to the new one and see if the old backups get recognized, check this article to find the location on your PC:
    Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes
    If the photos were not taken with the phone, your data is gone, photos you sync from iTunes to the phone are not included in the backup.

    That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
    Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
    Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
    Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • Photosmart C6180 All-in-One: Replace cartridge message after already having replaced cartridge

    Would appreciate ideas on how to resolve this issue with Photosmart C6180 All-in-one Printer.
    Receiving "Cannot Print, Replace the following empty ink cartridge(s) to resume printing."
    Replaced cartridge with newly purchased cartridge (so not expired) and still receiving same message.
    Thoughts?

    All cartridges (from original to replaced ) were HP ink cartridges.
    No refills.
    No non-HP ink.
    All are now within expiration.
    Issue appeared when yellow cartridge ran out of ink.
    Printed black .
    Went to store ( STAPLES ) and purchased 02 yellow XL plus 02 combo pack . 
    Replaced yellow with 02 yellow XL. 
    It did not recognize new replacement cartridge.
    Replaced yellow with 02 yellow from combo.
    Again did not recognize second new replacement cartridge.
    Per HP, replaced  'expired" cartridges (not yellow).
     No change.
    Did Power on Reset / reseat all cartridges OR reset voodoo.
    Iink levels still 0 but able to print self test  in color and  photo.
    Turned off PC and printer for 2 days.
    Now back to three cartridges at ink level 0 and 2 need to bne replaced.
    Only prints black.
    I tried Power on Reset and repalce cartridges, but same result : Black only : replace empty ink cartridges.

  • Brand new geniune Hp cartridges depleting with very few printings with Officejet 6600

    I just bought an Officejet p6600 last fall  and I hardly ever use it for printing.  Twice now I have been faced with depleted cartridges after having only printed a handful of pages.  These were black and white pages.
    These cartridges were NOT empty. In fact, I replaced the cartridges the last time, came back 2 months  or so, later ce ame back to use them just now and it says that the brand new black one is depleted. Why do you think this is happening with genuine  cartridges?  If this keeps happening I'm inclined to think I have a lemon and I will want to return it.932
    Black is and was Hp# 932
    Colored cartriges is and were Hp# 933

  • Brand new HP Printer cartridge ran out way too fast

    I just bought a new HP 60 cartridge for my printer the all in one Deskjet 4480. I was printing out piano music that I have purchased online, and the ink ran out at 100 pages. I had it on fast draft, so if wouldn't use that much ink. The cartridge is completely empty now. When I look up the page yields it says for the black cartridge (which I was using) should yield 200 pages. How do I get a replacement cartridge or my money back? This is ridiculous.

    It says 200 pages and the best we can get is around 85% or 170 pages with 5% coverage. Please check your output, are they 5% covered or a bit more ? Please note: many music symbols will NEED more ink to print. Probably on average each page is covered 8.5% and 100 is the right number.

  • About Ready To Throw Printer In The Trash!! Cartridge Issues!! Help Please:)

    I have an all in one 3135 Photosmart. I can scan fine, the issues are related to printing. I have the blinking top 2 lights only, the check paper and check cartridge. I went thru all the online troubleshooting steps. I do get an error on my computer that says carriage jam but the carriage moves freely and there is no paper inside. 
    Also... I feel like a real idiot now... why do I have FOUR print cartridges? There are two on the carriage itself and two on the right side of the printer. I used to be a systems manager but I've had a stroke and now things like this are causing my mind to just blank. 
    I tried to follow the steps to remove the two print cartridges on the carriage but I can only unseat them, not remove them at all. 
    Somebody help please... I am probably doing something incredibly stupid. Thanks!!! 

    The cartridges are only accessible for replacement on the right side of the printer.  It is possible an extra set of cartridges have been installed in the right side slot while there were still cartridges in the carriage.  Your printer only holds two cartridges, if there are four installed I would suggest you remove the two in the right side, then turn on the printer, open the carriage access door and allow the carriage to move to the right to change the cartridges in the printer.  At this point both sets of cartridges may be damaged, as they may have sat from some time outside the protective caps.  You may need to run a few cleaning cycles after the cartridges are reseated properly.

    I was messing around on my brand new ipod touch and it suddenly crashed. it flashed a static-y black and now the screen is bluish white and won't change. I tried holding both the home button and the black button on top of the ipod and neither helped. I even connected it back to my mac book but nothing happened. please help! i've only had it for two days!

    That sounds like a mechanical problem.  You might want to insert and remove the headphone plug several times and see if it fixed the issue.  If it does not, call Apple.  800-275-2273 in the U.S.A. and I think Canada.

  • Messed with kexts, killed kb/tp on brand new mac!!! help

    ok, i was trying to disable mac's usb ports to see if that would let windows in Parallels get access to it (later learned this was impossible) so that I could read/write to an external ntsf hard drive. One method with SOME potential that I found on a very trustworthy anonymous website was to remove a kext file called IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext. I found this advice on numerous web pages which all also assured the keyboard and trackpad, etc, would not be harmed.
    I removed the kext by copying it to the desktop, and then trashing the original. It... sort of worked. My mac no longer grabbed the USB, but Parallels didn't either. But I was still having the original error in Parallels, so I tried the same thing with the similar-looking IOUSBFamily.kext. Nada. Butkis.
    Note: when I moved the kexts to the desktop, their icons changed to folders. Does this mean anything??
    So anyway, it didn't work. So I moved both kexts back into Extensions. But then the Mac could not detect the USB port like it did before I did anything.
    Note2: I am a relative mac newb and have no idea if this is the proper way to install/uninstall kext files. But I figured if it couldn't find the files, couldn't use them. And if they were returned, no harm no foul, right?
    So anyway, I figured I needed to reboot, and now my keyboard and trackpad and anything USB related won't work. The only access I have is using the Install Disc to startup, where I DO have a working keyboard and mouse (just not when booting from HD) I can get into the terminal and tried various things with the IOUSB kexts but nothing worked.
    So.... HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
    I now have, basically, a brand new, dead macbook!!
    Is there any way to fix the kexts manually through the (limited) terminal, or from the install disc? Or..... am I way off here and it has absolutely nothing to do with the kexts?!?! oh god........
