C7 after belle update calendar fonts too small

After I updated to Belle I am experiencing some problems reading the calendar appointments. When expanding an appointment in calendar view to look at details font is very small. I think this is a persistent bug because neither in edit mode fonts get larger. Pls fix this. Best Pasha

Hi Pasha_NC7,
It can either be that the update hasn't been installed properly, or that the font size that has come with Belle is too small for your liking. Try to reinstall Belle with Nokia Suite and see if this makes a difference. If it doesn't then you won't be able to change it to a bigger font, but it's worth a shot.
Let me know how you get on!

  • Messaging Not Working Fine After Belle Update

My C7 has issues after Belle update when any incomeing new message in inbox then i read message from the inbox after i read the message then toush the back botton the message is delete in the inbox automaticaly.....i cannot recover this message...!
plzz  help me to solve this problem.......?

If the update does not work for you then do as I explained in my previous post and roll back to the previous driver. That philosophy can be applied to all updates.
If there is no pressing or emergent reason to update and your PC or notebook is running just great... don't update. (that is especially true when it comes to a BIOS update)
For your issue #2, the problem could be your wireless connection (hotspot, router or modem) that causes the dropped connection.

  • Internet browser nt wrkg after belle update

After Belle update on C7 browser is not working & it gets auto closed after 15seconds, eventhough mail, store, social..etc are accessable. Kindly advise anybody to get out this.....

Hey Pjjibin, Welcome to the Nokia Forums!
Are you using the native browser or a third party browser?
Could you please try and delete and re-add the access point for packet data on your device.
Also it might be worth checking if you have isntalled the apps "SPB Wireless Monitor Lite" and "SPB Wireless Monitor" may be preventing your phone from accessing the internet, if they have been downloaded to your phone before the Nokia Belle update. If this is the case please check the Belle FAQ in Belle Troubleshooting you will find an article to guide you through fixing your phone.
    I hope this helps!

  • Help text unreadable (fonts too small)

    SQL Developer v.1.0 patched
RHEL4 AS Nahant Update 3 Linux
    Sun jdk1.5.0_06
Help text font in SQL Developer is too small and almost unreadable, specially monotype font used to describe SQL queries.
Help text in JDeveloper is much better.
How to increase font size in SQL Developer Help text?
    Niksa Jurinovic
    [email protected]

Although this only partially addresses the problem, you can increase the help text font size by pressing the + (plus) key in your numeric keypad (in both SQL Developer and JDeveloper). The following (or similar wording) will be added to the "Using the Help" topic in the help and the User's Guide in a future release of SQL Developer:
"To increase the size of the font in the help topic viewer, press the + (plus) key in the numeric keypad part of your keyboard when the viewer has focus. To decrease the size of the font, press the - (minus) key in the numeric keypad. This setting is preserved only for the duration of the current help pane or window; therefore, you may want to keep the help pane open after setting the help text font to your preferred size."

  • Gmail fonts too small, hard to read but are fine using Chrome

I recently downloaded Firefox 4 because Chrome has been really slow and crashing a lot. But when I opened Gmail, all the fonts display very small (too small for comfortable viewing) and after trying to tweak preferences, clear cache and cookies, nothing has worked. If I can't fix this I'm going to have to go to a new browser. I tried the no minimum font size setting, but it was already set to "none"
I can send a screen shot if that will help.

  • [SOLVED] Fonts too small on X

    Hi,
My fonts are waaay too small for my linking.
I've recently migrated to Arch (I don't know what's been keeping me ), and since the doc is *so* great, I've just had two tiny issues.
My fonts are really small.  About half the size I'm used to.  I formerly used Fedora, and GDM/LXDM magically made them bigger (I remember I once booted on runlevel 3 and ran startx, and the fonts weren't big).
    I've checked .gtkrc-2.0
I've looked at the wiki (at Font Configuration and Fonts FAQ)
I've check all the X PPI (DPI) stuff.  On both OSs the DPI is set fine (and equally on both).  I calculated it manually, and I get 68.8dpi.  It's set to 69 now.
    Update
Running "startx -- -dpi 96" makes the fonts look *just* like I want them to.  (I've already configured the rendering just like I like it, it's just the size that's annoying me).
However, running "xrdb -merge ~/.Xresources" from my .xinitrc does not fix the issue.
    $ cat .Xresources
    xft.dpi: 96
Also, adding the following to ~/.fonts.config resulted in no changes either:
    <match target="pattern">
    <edit name="dpi" mode="assign"><double>96</double></edit>
    </match>
Any idea what the problem is?
    Thanks, cheers!
    Update 2
    This fixed the issue:
    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Monitor0"
    Option "DPI" "96 x 96"
    EndSection
Using Xresources didn't work for some reason, and xrdb gave no output, oddly.  Or any of the other methods.  Only passing the DPI explicitly to X worked.  So I guess that fixes the issue (using startx -- -dpi 96 was way too dirty/hackish.

Do you use KDE or GNOME? AFAIK they override DPI by default (for some applications)
You might also have DPI set in .Xresources/.Xdefaults or your .fonts.conf.
Do you use any of the patched font packages? There's a respect-fontconfig patch for cairo that might help https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/21108.
I only use a WM, and no dpi set in .Xdefaults.or .fonts.conf.
Also using the patched cairo, as you can see in the first comment on that flyspray report.
    (i don't think it's a cairo issue though)
Edit: i should add that terminal fonts are okay, so it seems that mainly gtk-apps show problems.

  • N9 Font too small!!

I received my N9 three days ago and i am so disappointed at the font size. The fonts are way too small and totally unacceptable! I sold my Nokia 700 because the font on that device was so small i just couldn't use it and bought the N9. I figured the N9 with its 3.9" screen the font size would be comparable to the iPhone 4 but boy was i wrong. The fonts on the iPhone 4 are so much bigger! i purchased both the 700 and N9 online so i had no way of knowing the font would be so damn small.
Why are the fonts so small for SMS Messaging?
Why are they so small on the missed call/sms lock screen?
Why is the date on the lock screen so small?
The software guys at Nokia know how to fix this but they refuse. It's not that hard for them to do it. This font size shouldn't even be an issue if they took the time to properly develop the OS for it. I've even heard the Lumia 800 has small fonts.
I've been a loyal Nokia customer for years having owned a 6300 and C3-01 before because they build quality products except this font issue is driving me nuts! Am i supposed to sell my N9 and get an Iphone now?
NOKIA PLEASE ADDRESS THIS ISSUE ON YOUR NEXT UPDATE! MAKE THE FONTS BIGGER! ITS GOT A 3.9" SCREEN FOR CRYIN OUT LOUD!!

Please update to PR1.2 when available, it contains some changes to improve the readability of the UI texts.
the fonts in pr1.2 are smaller than pr1.1.
it is not so much that they are actually "smaller" as the css files in the device show them being the same, with exception to the lockscreens (those were made smaller), but the issue is more with the font style that they changed it to.
someone go and grab a wp7.5 device and then hold your nokia n9 on pr1.2 next to it.  the fonts are closer in likeness now unlike the pr1.1.
so the new fonts are a "thinner" look to them, making them seem smaller.  but they are more "crisp"
I changed my fonts to script, and even with the settings in pr1.2, they are the same as pr1.1, so it is the font, and not the "size"

  • Yosemite fonts too small for middle aged eyes

I just updated my desktop to Yosemite and am wishing I hadn't - the designers clearly don't have a clue what happens to normal eyesight in middle age. I am NOT vision impaired - just a little bit short-sighted (-1.5) and a little bit long-sighted (+1) and a little bit astigmatic, with up-to-date glasses that correct my sight properly. I am nonetheless finding using this new OS on my new 1920x1080 (non-Apple) monitor, which worked perfectly with Mavericks, absolute torture - all the text in menus, settings screens etc is just much too small for comfort, at least in the chosen font. In some apps I can use Cmd-+ to increase the font size, but there seems to be nothing I can do about the font sizes in Finder, Preferences etc
I have read the threads about the reasons and ways to mitigate the problem, and have increased contrast and reduced transparency in the Accessibility settings, and am considering running the script to change the default font back to Lucida Grande. But my point is that I have perfectly normal eyesight (for someone of 53) and have never had any screen problems before, so I shouldn't need to be using the Accessibility settings. I know it is fashionable among designers to create lots of blank white space, but white space doesn't compensate for illegibility!
I can see from all the threads on this topic that I am not alone. So please Apple, sort this out - usability must come first - and not just for the under 30s!

Even iBooks on MBP Retina !?
I love the iBooks app and use it specifically because of the "Night" appearance option, which turns the page background all black and the font white (similar to inverting the display). Fortunately books' font sizes remain adjustable as big as I want, but - I can no longer see page information (current page number and number of pages left to read) at the bottom of each page.  The page information is barely visible (appears like small dark grey foggy font on a black background). This is very likely also the result of the Yosemite font fiasco.  Not an issue when reading books in "Night" appearance on the iPad, (they didn't break it yet yet in iOS).
"Digital Books without page numbering information"!
    A Huge design fiasco.

  • Menus and Fonts too small with Panasonic HDTV

I just hooked up a new Mini (Intel chip) to my Panasonic HDTV-- 34" Model No. CT-34WX53-- using a DVI cable. The desktop shows up fine, but the menus and fonts are so tiny that I can't read them. When I try using Front Row, the pictures and vide are gorgeous and the fonts in Front Row are fine. It's just the fonts and menus in on the desktop and in other programs that are too small. Does anyone know how to fix?
Mini Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.5)
Mini Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Edward,
That's the price of having a gazillion pixels!
You have two options - send less pixels to the display or change each application (Including the finder) to show larger fonts and icons.
The lower the resolution option is easy and fast. The downside of "zoom"-ing the display is it may look blocky at certain resolutions and the fonts and fine details in photos and movies may be lost if the mac has to alias or scale the video. If you do this - you might want to enable the menu bar item for display preferences to quickly switch between the setting you prefer. I use one setting for actually using the mac and another setting for playing movies and showing slides in FrontRow.
The change the preferences to make the fonts and icons larger is more of a pain but yields the most crisp display and you don't have to change things up. I would start with Finder Preferences (select an icon on your desktop and on the View menu - show view options - crank up the icon size and font size.) Unfortunately - you have to do this in each application you use. It also won't change the menu font sizes - you might need an "extension" from a developer to change that.

  • ICal fonts too small to read

I tried using iCal for the first time.
I can't read the fonts on my 30" monitor without strong magnification. No one here can read the fonts easily, even those with excellent eyesight.
How can I enlarge the fonts without using the Universal Access magnification, which makes everything unsharp and gives me a headache?
    Thanks,
BTW, when I enlarge the fonts for these forums, the lines run into each other. Can that be fixed? Or is that a problem with the site?
    I use Safari.
    Thanks again,

    I appreciate the help.
Unfortunately, changing resolutions on LCD is about the same, unsharpnesswise, as using the zoom feature in Universal access.
The ability to choose font size, font color, etc., was available in ODS 9 and previous, and should be available to us as a part of the system.
That it isn't and that, with typical native resolutions for LCDs fonts and all detail size is seen at about half WYSIWYG (half the printed-out size) is a huge fault of the Apple OS.
We are stuck with too small fonts and details in too many applications, windows, toolbars, etc.
I need to enlarge the fonts in iCal, without messing anything up like Universal access does. Otherwise, I cannot use it, nor can many people i know. Ity is that simple!
Any real solutions, not makeshift attempts at trying to help.
    Thanks again,
