C7 e-book reader?

Is there an e-book reader for the C7?  There's one on ovi (Mbooks) but it has terrible reviews.  Mobipocket doesn't support Symbian3.  Currently I want to read something on Project Gutenberg which can be downloaded as html, so will try that, but it would be good to have a proper reader. Any ideas?
Kate

I've been using Dorian but it only does epub. There are many readers you can get for your PC that read epub, try Calibre.

These models are based on how long a reader has read an eBook. For example, you may borrow an eBook for a period of 30 days. While some publishers and distributors may charge libraries and resellers for 30 days from the date of the download, others may follow a metered pricing model and charge them for the actual time you read the eBook.

  • IPod classic as e-book reader?

I just heard that ipod classic can read ebooks in text format. I wonder how can you convert pdf files to txt and put them in ipod so you can read them through notes. I don't know how to do it though so that's a question to everyone who done did it. Thank you

I don't think you will have much joy with this idea. The text files have to be no more than 4KB in size, which is a maximum the iPod can handle. Anything bigger would be truncated. This would mean that you would have to edit a converted PDF file into text files smaller than 4KB, and this would be so time consuming you would have no time to read the book.

How can I activate/registrate my e-book reader afterwards.

  • How do I get my Adobe Digital book read out loud.

I am disabled and need to use text to speech. I purchased an ebook which is an Adobe Digital Edition. I have really enjoyed using Adobe Reader with the Read Out Loud feature and was shocked when I discovered I could not use this feature on the Digital Editions. If I knew Adobe cared so little about the disabled I would sought the book in a different format.
Does anyone out there have any ideas on how to be able to get this expensive book read for me?

I do not know quite what you mean by "paid for them to transfer all my data and programs over"...  I'm hoping you are not implying that you simply copied (had copied) programs from your application folder to your new computer.
You still need to go through the installation process to install Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

  • Books/reading material for 1Z0-146

    Hi,
Can anyone guide me regd books/reading material for exam 1Z0-146 (Oracle Database 11g: Advanced PL/SQL).
If anyone has given this exam, please help with details.

    user4589793 wrote:
There is such a paucity of material for this examination, it makes it very difficult. I studied off the Oracle suggestions at the web site for the exam, then took the test and failed, with 50%. I didn't even complete the last 7 questions for lack of time. Poor time management on my part. However, I'm glad I took the exam. It's the only legitimate way to get real insight into the nature of the questions, and to apply that to how I will study to take it again. I did use the newest Fuerstein book. In my opinion it is his best hands down.
Since failing, I also purchased uCertify's practice test, the only non-braindump prep test for 1z0-146 I know of. I don't think its questions are of Self Test Software quality with regard to likeness of its question format to the actual Oracle exam, but after having taken the exam I think it's better than some give it credit for and will definitely be a help, IMHO.
I have my OCP in 9i Database and have passed two of the three exams for my Advanced PL/SQL OCP. I have never and would never touch a braindump site, as I'm sure you wouldn't or you wouldn't be asking for legitimate sources. I wish Oracle or it's approved prep vendor (Self Test) would make a legitimate alternative available. Without a legitimate alternative - Oracle Press and/or Self Test - honest test takers have a harder time passing. It's logical to assume that cheaters would comprise a higher percentage of all passers of this test than they do in tests with legitimate prep material.
Oracle does have a course with a manual for 1z0-146. However, the course has yet to actually be offered anywhere, live or virtual, as I have checked. I don't know if Oracle would make available in some way the manual for us to study from. I still think Oracle should produce an Oracle Press book as well as pressure or subsidize Self Test Software to make a prep exam.
    Hope that helps.

  • Interactivity within Briefing Book Reader

I was wondering if you create a briefing book .sbb file which is a snapshot of a dashboard, whether there is an option to be able to drill into some of the graphs on the dashboard to their detail level when viewing in the briefing book reader.
For example, if I have a graph on a dashboard and there is a navigation link on one of the measures to be able to drill into a detail report, how do I set up the briefing book to be able to have the same interactivity as the dashboard it came from. Or is the best practice to keep adding pages to the briefing book and view them one at a time without any user interactivity.
    Thanks.

Briefing book primarily consists of static reports. So you need to add all the pages to the briefing book. But if you want the same amount of interactivity you can use disconnected analytics. I have blogged about it today here http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/11/23/oracle-bi-ee-101332-working-with-disconnected-analytics-sadis-utility/ if you quickly want to test how it works.

  • My e-book reader is not visible in Adobe Dig addition

    Hello,
I installed adobe dig addition on my iMac, no problems installing and authorizing.
I also installed my e-book reader (Kobo) on the computer and it installed ok
I managed to download an e-book from the library and managed to move it into the Dig addition
and I am able to read it.
I now want to click and drag the e-book in the Dig addition into the Kobo reader but the kobo is not visible in the Library view
    dig addition
How can I make that work ?
    regards,   Peter

This is an old question but I am answering it since I am going through the process of learning to use e-books and had a problem with this too, so I am answering this with the hopes that this reply will help someone else out too.
On the Kobo reader which I have: start ADE on your PC;  connect the Kobo to a USB port on the PC;  when the Kobo prompts you to "keep reading" or "manage library" select "manage library".  You will hear a tone from the PC and the Kobo e-reader will appear under "devices" in ADE.  At this point click on the desired e-book and drag it onto the Kobo e-reader icon.  This will start the loading of the e-book onto the Kobo e-reader.  To complete the loading left click (on the PC) "start", then "computer", then right click on the Kobo e-reader icon and select "eject", then unplug the USB cable.  The Kobo e-reader will ask you to wait while it processes new content, and then will display your new e-book with the label "new".  If you do not "eject" but simply unplug the cable the book will not be visible to you in the Kobo book menu.

  • Universal book reader ???

I buy e-books from Amazon and Apple.  I use the iBooks app on my iPad to read the books purchased from Apple, and I use the Kindle app to read the books purchased from Amazon.  Both work fine, but using either app first requires me to remember where I purchased the book from, then open the appropriate app to read it.
In the not too distant future, I hope someone can create a universal e-book reader.  Something that allows you to purchase e-books from any source, and to organize them into libraries (as the iBooks app does).  You would open the univeral reader, locate the book you want to read, click on it, then behind the scenes it would navigate thru the appropriate DRM's and e-book formats to display the book for reading.  Maybe someday Apple and Amazon could collaborate on this, but I know they each want to protect their own channel.  But hey, you can buy music from both Apple and Amazon and play it all on one player (your iPod), so why not one e-reader for books from either source?
I like Apple, but the Amazon store seems to have a much larger e-book offering and much better search capabilities to help you find what you are looking for.  A universal e-reader app might combine the best of both worlds.  If someone knows of a univeral e-book reader and I've somehow missed it, pls let me know!

No, it doesn't exist.  To tell Apple what you want, use their feedback channels:

  • Hearing a book read aloud on iBooks

I'm a teacher, trying to help a student who needs to hear a text read aloud to her.
We've got the iPad, and the book is opened up in iBooks.
Where do we go to have the book read aloud?

There is not a speak option within iBooks itself, but speak selection can be enabled on the iPad.
Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Speak Selection - On
Then when you select text in iBooks you can have it read out loud.
Note you can change the Dialect and Speaking rate in that same setting screen.

  • Lenovo Natural Touch - e-book reader for Windows 8

I have used Lenovo Ideapad S10-3t before. I used to love the Lenovo's 'Natural Touch' program which was pre-installed on it with the e-book reader. I simply love its book shelf experience and ability to flip the pages of any pdf document.
Now I own a Lenovo Yoga 13 with Windows 8. I am really missing the e-book experience my Lenovo S10-3t gave me. I was wondering if Lenovo had any plans to release an pdf reader app with 3D page-flipping like 'Natural Touch', as a Lenovo Exclusive Windows 8?
If now, I would like to request you to consider doing that. Lenovo fans are going to love it for sure.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
If the software is available for download from Lenovo, have you tried installing it onto your Lenovo Yoga 13?

  • Today I downloaded a book reader app then downloaded one free and one purchased book to listen to on my Ipod Nano. Initially Ok, then a mess, now missing. Any ideas?

After downloading the app was there, the books were there, but nothing would play, not even the music. I re-searched the computer for music and now there is no Books tab and no books. There are duplicate music files and they all play. What a mess! Anyone know what's up?

What book reader app? There are no apps for the iPod Nano...
