C7 Microsoft Apps Update

As I said earlier I have a problem.
I told it to Jampe - a moderator - but his solution didn't solve my issue.
The Problem is that I have two new updates for my mobile ""NOKIA C7"" . The first one is Microsoft apps & the other one is social but I can't get them every time I update ... Update fails..

       1- soft resetting

       3- using nokia suite

make sure you choose the access point under settings of the software update app. once done, restart your phone then try to download the updates. This worked for me, hope it helps

E6 battery drain after microsoft apps update

just two days ago i updated with microsoft apps in my e6 belle. Now the battery doesn't last even a day. I went to installations in settings and tried to uninstall microsoft apps, but a pop up says 'file cannot be deleted'. How do I uninstall microsoft apps from E6 belle? Since QuickOffice not currently compatible you might like to look at Picsel SmartOffice as an alternative..

Microsoft Apps update not available for Nokia 701

From nokia conversations website, I could see that MIcrosoft Apps is available for Nokia 701 (http://conversations.nokia.com/2012/04/10/get-microsoft-office-for-symbian/) post Belle FP1 update. But I am not able to get that update. I am from India. My product code is 059J7M4 (This is a new code that I got after taking my mobile to Nokia care for software update).

If the Nokia care point staff has changed your product code in repair, they should have changed it back to the original before handing it back to you. In this case please visit the Care point and ask them to change the product code back to the original. If they have replaced enough parts, or the whole device, so that the product code has been changed as well, then it's just not available for your device yet.

Microsoft apps update disturbed the emal client on...

With the update of Microsoft applications email client is not working. Two icons namely..freestyleemail and emailwidget..have cropped up...and unfortunately none are working as on clicking icons dpn't open or response. Very irritating. Please, Nokia, solve the issue as soon as possible.

I bumped into a similar problem..here are some thoughts from me;
Remove first the icons/widgets and remove the email accounts.
If problem by deleting email accounts, disconnect data/wlan
Then go to a new start screen.
After this, open up settings and start to set up an email account and follow the standard procedure.
If you bump into problems, try to do a soft reset first. If still problem, put in wrong password for your email account...and set up manually instead.
There is something that isnt quiet ok by setting up email accounts after Belle PR1, but mine seems to work fine now.
Speedy and stable they all are actually. Brilliant speed...

Microsoft Apps SW Update / Nokia700

Last week i checked if there is any sw updates and saw "Microsoft Apps". I started downloading the update, and somewhat it stopped installing and gave the message below.
"unfortunately there was a problem getting your updates. you can use your 700 as normal. please try again later to complete the update."
Now, whenever i use sw update, it looks like the phone does not check whether there are updates or not. it just shows "microsoft apps" update and it can never finish installing.
i guess my 700 downloaded the update files. but the files are corrupted, and it can never finish installation. In fact installing process does not even start (% bar does not move a bit)
things i tried,
-trying sw online&offline
-restarting the phone
-trying sw update on 3G or WiFi
-trying sw update without the memory card & taking the battery out
-triyng sw update without any open apps

There is one thing that you should keep in mind. It seems like there is no way to uninstall those apps (you can find people talking about this here in Nokia Support Discussions). Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Since I bought an official Italian 701 thinking that a native Belle phone would have been included in the enabled ones, I have to say the above statement is untrue, or misleading at least... Not to mention the lack of a support page for the 701 on Nokia Italy's web site, or the recently discussed issues about compatibility reinstalling Belle FP1 via NSU or Nokia Suite on the 701 itself. But these rants belong to other threads.

Not sure how I got in AppleWorks. I was having slow internet issues as well. I checked the apps later, and they were able to update.

but there is no editing option in it
its showing microsoft apps 2.01 in installed apps
but while opening dco or xls file a pop up comes
"can't edit file"

Older files with xls and doc cannot be edited using ms apps 2.01. Editing is supported only for xlsx and docx formats. You can only view the xls and doc files.

Message reader problems after Microsoft Apps insta...

My previous thread was delete due to forum rules infringment.
I describe here again my problem, hoping to have a solution and considering that the problem I faced was not my fault, but it happened after a Nokia official update downloaded via Ovi Suite.
On 15th of April I've installed the Microsoft Apps and after my C6-01 reboot I found that the application "message reader" does not work anymore (tapping on the blue icon in the homescreen had no effect).
The only way to use the message reader was going in the incoming SMS folder, select a message anoose "LISTEN" from the menu. In this way the reader works.
Some days ago someone in this forum suggested me to remove the configured mailbox and try; in this way the reader came back to life and worked again, but if I add a mailbox the problem come back and the reader is malfunctioning again. So the only way to have this application working is removing any mailbox from my C6-01.
Therefore, considering that this problem occurred after an official update from Nokia and not for an user's error, I would like that Nokia tell me how to solve this malfunction.

After the first time I installed Micro$oft App$ I did a deep reset pressing the four keys as described in a web site I've found. After this procedure my C6-01 rebooted without many applications, so I have connected it to Ovi Suite and restored the firmware. The result was a "brand new" and perfect phone, until the new installation of M$ Apps on 11th of April :-(
So we are three Nokia users with the same problem... and we will faithfully wait for a fix ;-)

Problem with installing Microsoft Apps on Nokia e7

Hey Guys
I have a nokia E7 with Belle update , previously I had the Microsoft apps installed on my phone and for some reasons I had to do a full format and restore of my phone. My phone restore was only SMS and contacts.
Then I tried installing the Microsoft apps again and after the installer file downloads , it ask me if it can download a 21 MB file , so I press yes and then it says " the connection was lost , canceling the installation "
I am sure my network connections are OK, all the other applications download and install perfectly and I have tried it over 3G and Wifi. To be sure I did factory reset and it did not work.
even when it creates an icon for smart installer , the same thing happens.
I have tried anything it reached my mind and did not work, do you guys have anything else that might work?

Have a horrid feeling that your formatting mass memory has achieved same result as "hard reset" especially if you can't access Nokia Store upon device. Nokia Care facility can re-install software completely including eMMC content which truly returns device to "Out of box" state.
Have you tried "Googling" for "Microsoft Apps 2.01 (5616)"?
You will need to install Pixi enablers first, if I remember it correctly.

Duplicate App Updates - Shared Library

I have my iTunes library under Users/Shared/iTunes Media for sharing with multiple users on one Mac. Everything seems to working fine other than app updates. I noticed under each user we each have the same amount of updates 94. I updated them under my account and they were all updated and downloaded, but under the other users it still shows 94 updates. So I updated them under another user. I see that they are duplicating the downloaded updates in Mobile Applications. I am trying to find where iTunes stores it's update location so they all share the same database for the updates. There is nothing located in Library.xml or library.itl from what I can see.

If Excel works as do other apps, you should be able to tap and hold on the attachment and then select "Open in Excel" in the window that will open. Note that you need to be subscribed to and signed into Office 365 to be able to edit documents in Microsoft's apps.
