C7 - Problem with text messages - Help please!

I have had my Nokia C7 since November and have not been able to use it! When I send a text message less than 160 characters I am charged between 2 and 3 times on my bill. The text message is being sent once and the recipient is receiving the text once. I have done everything that I have been asked by my provider from software upgrades to a brand new sim card to sending the phone off to be repaired to having a replacement but nothing works .. If I use my sim card in my old Nokia N79 then I don't have this problem. I recently tried a pay as you go sim card in the Nokia C7 and the same thing happened!
Any suggestions please??

Thanks for confirming .. Just so frustrating as getting no where with T Mobile. The technical person insisted that I had sent 3 text messages despite the fact that 1 was sent all because that is what was showing on his system! I had to go into the shop with a copy of my usage and the phone showing the text messages to prove only 1 text had been sent. They just don't seem to be able to resolve the issue. I just don't know what else to do. I haven't been able to use this new phone since November

If i save the number in my address book as normal...i.e 079 etc, when that number sends me a message it does NOT come up with a name just the number, BUT if i save the number in my address book as +44 when a text comes through the name WILL show but when the number rings the name wont, it just a number...does that make sense?! can anyone help me please...!

I am not sure about the +44 stuff - someone with that experience will help ya on that one, but with my address book, I have to add the number then add a name then when they call, their name shows up.

My wife is having the same problems as a reciever. She works in a school as a teaching assistant and her teacher sends messages that are mixed with previous texts from ages ago.
Can anyone shed some light on this problem or is it only her and this poster?

Problem with Text Messages

Hi,
I have a 5530 XpressMusic phone with around 4000+ text messages saved on the memory card.
Whenever the number of text messages increases above approximately 3500+ messages, the new text message alert stops appearing, no tone or vibration alerts. Even delivery reports refuse to appear.
Nokia PC Suite (Latest version) has a lot of trouble displaying those texts as well (So that I could backup the data) and nothing appears in Communication Center.
I had the exact same problem with the older N70 ME and had to delete texts to get back to normal. Its going to be very cumbersome to go through all those messages and pick and prune to a size that the phone/Suite can handle.
I have the latest firmware. Any help with this?

   when i have "backed up" my messages from the phone to my memory card AND picked my memory card as the place where my messages are stored,i put the memory card into my pc to browse the memory card i cannot find anything on there relating to the back up or my messages,i've gone through all the folders i can see,even the empty ones(btw do i need keep the empty folders or can i delete them),now this is really "bugging" me as my little lad sent me a merry christmas text message so i wanted to do the above action so i could save the message on my pc as a keeps sake

Problem with Text Messaging on new iphone with non iphone users

Ever since I set up imessage forwarding to be able to send/receive text messages on both my mac book pro and iphone people with non iphones are not getting my text messages from either device.
In my settings - messages - text message forwarding it only has one device enabled which is my mac book pro. There is an option to enable my iphone. Do I need to do that? I did try and it's asking me for a code. If i do need to do this where on my phone do i get this code? Thank you.

Have you tried reporting the problem to AT&T?

Problems with text messages due to changing to galaxy s5

If you have recently switched away from the iPhone and are having issues receiving messages from iPhone users, you may find the following article helpful:

Also, if possible, you may want to see if your contacts can delete any current message conversations they are having with you to ensure that their phones recognize that you are no longer using iMessage.

Pdf causes problem with opening files: help, please!

The operating system on my computer is Windows xp and I use Adobe version 11.0.6.
I am having a problem that arises when I get a warning message (particularly when opening pdf or xls files): "AcroRd32.exe - Application Error: The exception unknown software exception (Oxc0000409) occurred in the application at location 0x00411e0b". I am then unable to open most files - pdf, xls, Word etc. - until I switch the machine off and then on. I have discussed this problem with Microsoft, who eventually said that it seems to be caused by something related to Acrobat software.
I should be grateful for advice or help from any participant in this forum.

To test the automount hypothesis, you could create
a new user with a home directory someplace completely different and NFS-free, like /opt
useradd -m -d /opt/testuser -s /bin/bash testuser
passwd testuser
Then login to CDE as the user.

After recent upgrades Firefox prevents links in several websites from working whilst there is no such problem with other browsers - help please.

Since a recent upgrade of Firefox links in several websites no longer work. They used to be fine and I loved Firefox. The problems do not exist with other browsers e.g. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome. More specifically, on talktalk.co.uk the links to news items do not work, nor do those to "My Account." On Barclays.co.uk the link to print my statement doesn't work - similarly on MBNA.com
There are several suggested solutions around the internet but all are complex, none so far have worked and I don't see why I should need to carry out the suggested tweaks. Firefox used to be great - now it isn't. The problem seems to be with the upgrade. Please help me to get my Firefox to where it should be.

Thank you but please don't waste any more time on this. I have done as I said I would - removed and re- installed Firefox, cleared all cookies and caches (CCleaner) - still doesn't work. As I said at the start, the problem is not confined to Talktalk - it applies to several other sites and links. The problem does not occur with Internet Explorer nor with Google Chrome so I am now using those.

Problem with my Macbook - HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!

This is my second 1.83ghz 1 gb ram 80 gb hard drive Macbook. The first one mooed and had a buzzy display. This one has been perfect for three weeks. Have loved it. But today, my girlfriend shut it down, apparently properly, we took it out of it's case to use it and the fan was on FULL blast. Even though the computer was off! It then wouldn't turn on for ages. The macbook was very, very hot at this point.
Eventually it restarted when the fan went off ten minutes later. The battery level had gone from 80% to 28%. And then it said 'Mac OS X unexpetedly quit' and carried on as normal.... for the moment.
My girlfriend said 'it's done it once before' too.
Any heads up on this? Many thanks in advance.

It definitly sounds like she instructed the computer to shut down, but did not wait for the Mac OS to actually shut off the computer befre closing the lid. Doing so suspends activity and puts the computer into sleep mode where it still uses power. If you put the computer in a bag, the heat will build up, and I would expect it do do as you described.
Ask your girlfriend if she waited for the screen to turn black or not. If she did wait for the screen to turn black, then you definitly have a problem that should be taken up with AppleCare, or Apple.

Problems with text messages and internet access

I have an Apple 5c and over the last few weeks my text messages to most people had not been completing the send. Now, in addition, I am not receiving most messages and I can't access the internet for most apps (like maps, yahoo search, youtube). Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to go about fixing it?

Try removing then reinserting the SIM card -

It may just need a refresh to reconnect to the network again.

Problem with text messaging

recently activated my iphone, i can make and receive calls...and i can send text messages but I cant receive them from other carriers.
so at&t customers can text me and I get them, but other carriers text messages never come through to my phone. i called at&t and they cant figure it out..cause I received their test message but the issue is unresolved. any thoughts?

I've got a similar problem, except there's just a small amount of people that I don't get texts from rather than every other carrier. AT&T said they fixed it, but it's still no good...I'm probably going to go in there tomorrow.

Problem with text messages import to PC Suite

When I connect my Nokia E55 to PC Suite (7.1.30.9) it sees messages correctly. Just in a second it updates messages from the phone and I get only multimedia messages on PC Suite - no text messages at all.
Plus I can not move messages from Draft folder to another folder.

Did that. No change. When you start Nokia Communication Centre it sees all messages and does it correctly. But in few seconds it udates itself (or you do it manually) and then there are only MMS's in the window.
Plus, i forgot to mention, that i can not send messages from PC Suite ("failed to send the message").
I think it must be fixed somehow, since no one else is complaining of that.

AppleScript Studio/Xcode problem - Problem with text entries! Please help!

Hey, I've been up for hours each night looking for solutions to this but still have had no luck.
I am creating an app in Xcode/Applescript studio that will ask you to enter how many times you would like system events to repeat a certain keystroke. First of all, the code would look something like this:
on click theObject
If the name of theObject is equal to "myApplication" then
(Right here would be where the variables representing text in an input in the app's window would be, which I have absolutely no clue what to type.)
tell application "text edit"
activate
tell application "system events"
keystroke x (x representing a variable)
end tell
end tell
end clicked
and that's about as far as I can get. I want a variable representing the text in the main text entry box, but I have no clue how to access that text, or even know if it's submitted or detected when I hit a button. Hopefully you're following, as I am way to confused to fully explain it, but please try and help me out if you can.

Im having a problem with text messaging on my Iphone4s

The problem started about 2 days ago. Me and my friend were texting and all of a sudden he stopped getting my text. Now i texted him asking if he got my text, and he said No. So we figured it was just a error no biggie right? then it started happening again about 2 hours later. Now we can text but sometimes he doesnt get my text. The text on my phone says that the message was sent, but its as if the text was sent but got lost? if that makes sense. He does get my texts most of the time but sometimes he doesnt. Now this is not happening to any one else i text, its just him. I dont know if its because of the phones? or what? could it be his phone? i Im trying to figure out why this is happening all of a sudden. And i have no clue why. If someone could please answer my question.

I know that staying in contact with friends and family overseas is very important p0207111. Are you able to send and receive text from all other contacts on your phone and everyone in the U.S. What country are they sending text from. Have they been able to text you previously? Did they ensure they are not being blocked from their international carrier? If you are able to send and receive text from everyone else, the issue may not be your phone and they will need to check with their carrier for any issues.
