Sub : Nokia model C701- Total &Horrible dissatisfaction of device when compared to Nokia  E51- Do not put this model into sale – immediate withdraw of this model from the sale shops – Reasons are explained below – For kind consideration & to escape from this trap – Reg.
I purchased this new model Nokia C701 model on 27th September 2011 with great interest.  Prior to this I am using Nokia E51.  To use this new piece, it took more than 4 weeks for me due to my ill health soon after purchasing this new piece.  Ever since I shifted from E51 to C701, I got bitter experience in using the new piece and the same are herewith submitted below for kind information of new ones who want to purchase this.  Also, as I took this please help me a way out to use this minimum extent so as to at least get some satisfaction.
In E51, to change contact heading it is  easy to change the label say for example from “”Mobile(home)”” to custom interest “”Mobile(for night call use this)””, where as in C701 there is no such feature at all.  I wonder when a new model comes in market, is it not minimum to see what end user wants and what end user thinks for a second..   Before I purchase, to know this feature I tried to go through all the  Nokia websites and other mobile websites technical features and specifications but no where this is indicated nor in their brochures at all.. I thought being this a minimum, it will be there built in and I cannot find each and every bit of info unless it is used.    So, I took the new piece and I was literally trapped.  No doubt this new piece has touch facility, but I cannot touch this item at all as this factory locked.   Please tell me anyone who wants to use contacts, whether this feature is simply useful or bitterly useless.  In my view, because of increased mobile usage,  most of us have one mobile for regular day time use and other for night free calling and one more for personal calls.   So the person remains same and has three mobiles.  I cannot write above their phone numbers like one forMobile(Official) and next forMobile(night free call) and lastly asMobile(Personal).  Unlike now in this new model C701,  we have to be adjusted with eitherMobile(Home),Mobile(Work) or simply Mobile.  Is this any way a suitable answer for our necessity.   It is simply cheating new customers and unethical to new users like me. Please correct me if I am damaging you..
 2.    In E51, I have Google application installed by me as soon I press this button,  a Google home screen comes with voice search along with small icons for Google mail, Google maps, Picasa Web albums, News, And More icons and so on...   In C701, the application allowed me to download but when I touch this icon, after few seconds of delay as if some action is being taking away, but by the end of few seconds,  it comes original screen without any as if I have not at all touched the icon.  There is no error indication neither visually nor any audio indication.  What shall I do.   The same thing when I report to Nokia customer care on Phone  04030303838, the customer care staff says me that Google is third party application.  How come this is true in my case.  When it is working on E51, It should work on somewhat higher end model of C701.  Is it not.  Believe me the customer care staff have simple became customer careless and tries to divert my topic and ultimately I have wasted not less than 1 hour 27 minutes of phone talk..  This too the first staff wasted me around 45 minutes and then some second higher one came and he wasted balance time totaling to 1 hour 27 minutes.  Who has this much time now a days please tell me..  Even after this wastage of  human hours I could not get what I want and ultimate dissatisfaction and utter discomfort.    It is not boasting of myself, that  earlier Nokia care has Toll free number from BSNL lines 18004253388.  They have simply removed from their lists causing much pain in contacting them.   Instead of upgrading this number and making free from any cell phone provider or land phone provider you have degraded yourself like existing human being to dumb human being.   At this juncture, what a end user  like me thinks is either you have fed up with the daily calls received or there are no calls at all daily.   I don’t believe the second one due to day by day high mobile usage.
 3.    When I touch the Google map icon which I installed,  it will not open up and in turn an error screen message comes likes this :

Where as in my E51 it was happily opening and I can go wherever I can indicate place position of search in any part of globe.  What all you say is this is a third party software.  I do understand that though this is a third party software,  it works in E51 and not in 701 that too very latest model launched thanE51.   With this I was bitterly dissatisfied and I felt I should have been died than submitting the error report like this..  
 4.   When I down loaded the Skype mobile software, this model is not at all indicated in the list of approved model for Skype software.  Even then I downloaded and ultimately when I touch the icon of Skype, the screen looks like opening  the software, whereas after lapse of some time, the screen comes to the normal position as if nothing is touched.  This is a minimum software that any end user wants to use as it is completely free besides the speech and video quality is much satisfactory.   This Skype is working very nice in E51 and not all in 701.   If this is the problem where can land whom shall I contact and when can I get help.    Already to submit my problem to you it took this much delay due to my ill health(one month only to express my pain to you)..
Actually what a crime I did was I just thought and presumed that all the features what I am right now using in E51 will be and should be available in latest models.   I never thought that you people will be cheated to this much extent for me..
 5.    Similarly, In my E51, with Airtel network provider, I have nice facility of sending pre-programmed sms to any mobile any future time so that I can able to send any sms to any mobile number through software named as “”Aiffle””.   This software name is SMS2 version 3.00(43) of AFFLE Pte Ltd.    When I tried to load this into 701, the error report says that this device is not recognized and approved.  I Utterly failed in this minimum necessity regard.   
 6.    Any user like me wants to load their religious software, being Christian I loaded NIV Bible in E51 which was working so nicely and when I try to load this in 701, the error report says is “” this software is not available in Nokia Ovi store for this device””.  How come this type of absence in ovi store..  Any user like me wants to use their religious software like Bhagavthgita,  Bible, Quran or whatever may be is due to their minimum need.  This way also I utterly failed.  Please tell me how should I use this device.. Before launching any model is it not minimum duty as to see how far is compatible  whether this model is used by humans or animals. 
 7.     Another issue where this new model utterly failed is loading of software Wireless presenter by Psiloc of version 2.11(0).   This is a very beautiful software by which any one can project through LCD projector and works like a pointer mouse(E51) while explaining things in seminars.  This is not at all possible with 701 and the error info is no such software availability in ovi store or any other wise website of theirs.
 8.   Another thing is unable to load the TV software ofAlJazeera  version 6.32(1002) supplied by Actmagine, SPB TV software version 2.10(1162) where in these things I utterly failed to use this software even though they are giving freely anyone who wants..  Like this there are many issues which are very much common and a basic minimum necessity unlike highly prioritized items where in they are used only by big persons or high-fi type..  Like this in each and every item I have been cheated very much horribly and I don’t know where to go what to ask neither I cannot put this new device 701 in to dust bin..
 9.  Every Sunday there is Christian online web based services through which  any one can watch the live programs through mobile and not by attending the services thus avoiding to and fro transport and other tensions.   This is not being possible with this new device 701 where as I am happy with my old model E51.  The error report is nothing.  It is not opening the program nor any indication of error.
 10.  I use to work so cool in E51 the software Quickoffice and I use to transfer to the PC through Bluetooth almost every day by creating new and  try to add, change the word, excel, PowerPoint contents of MS Office 2007.   This facility is not at all available now in 701 and the error report says that I must purchase Quickoffice software where as I used to do it without any purchase.  When I contacted Quickoffice staff(Kamill, Customer Care Specialist Quickoffice Customer Care),  the problem they suggested me to change to OS from Symbian Belle toSymbianAnna.  What is this, why should I take this new device at all.   Same is the case with Acrobat files.   See in each and every item of daily need I have been utterly failed and so please tell me what to do as I prepared a branch of graveyard and kept the new device 701 since purchase…   There are many such issues having utter problems with this new device Nokia 701 model..
 11.   Even though I am facing this since purchase I could not find time submit these to you due to my ill health till now.  It is not good to mention of my ill health condition though I met with stage-IV stomach cancer, I am still not well and under treatment and medication.   Though I am not well to submit these, somehow I managed to submit just now after a lapse of almost a month..  12.   I only ask almighty to look into my issues by your concerned staff and grant a solution to me more than that I don’t have any might to do any except cry in silence… So please help me a way out by simply calling me some one of  your staff and say the situation of rectification at least for my mental satisfaction as I am depressed beyond imagination…  Already I am fighting dreadful disease besides the device made me to suffer further and further without any scope of…..

The majority of your complaints concern compatibility with 3rd party software. But what you describe is similar to the experience a person might have when upgrading from, Windows 98 to Windows Vista right after release. Nobody guarantees forward compatibility of software, not to mention the change to toutch screen, that Belle is brand new, and that as Nokia's market share shrinks, a number of software companies have jumped ship. I am sure some of these issues will be resolved in maybe 6 or 8 months, but perhaps you would have been happier with a more traditional E52 ?

    Try:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer                            
      - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem. Maybe you installed a bad component or damaged something during the repair/replacement.
    Apple will not help since you worked on the iPod yourself.

    Dog Pa,  That information is in the status bar.  If the status bar is hidden, enable it by clicking CTRL+/.
    Then it will look as it did in previous versions of iTunes.

    Not knowing what "iTunes is bombing out my computer" means all I can suggest is:
    Disabled
    Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
    iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen                         
    If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

    If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • RME 4.3.1 not archiving configs on all devices

    As the part of the screen shot shown, I have a total of 1312 devices in the RME. The number of total devices RME tried to collect inventory adds up to that. However, the numbers it tried to archive configuration do not (581 + 116 + 23 + 58 = 778 = 1312 - 534).
    Why are so many devices missing there?
    An RME job deploying a configuration template failed on a large number of devices, which led me to discover that many devices don't have archived configuration.
    When I manually start a "Sync Archive" job from the Device Center on a device showing "Configuration Last Archived Time: No configuration archived yet", the job succeeds.
    This is a serious issue. My immediate concern is to get configuration archived on all devices. What do I need to do to get RME to do that?

    When I try a device package update now on RME, I get "All the available package(s) at source location are already installed."
    When I try a device package update on all CiscoWorks modules, I only get one: DFMDeviceUpdates going from 17.0 to 18.0.

    You can keep everyone on your iTunes account all you have to do is have everyone create there own iCloud account. Me, my wife, and my son all have our own iCloud for our own use. I have my 3 devices linked to mine, my son has 2 linked to his and my wife has 2 also. For some reason by default the iDevice will ask you to use your iTunes account but you don't have to. You can create it right from the device itself if you want a @me account which is the way to go IMO. you can also go to iCloud.com and create it there too. We have a total of 8 devices linked to one iTunes account for purchases and everything works like a champ. Hope this helps.

    I am just a little confused about the way that you asked thes questions. But here is my take.
    1. Yes - You can use two Apple ID's on an iPad.
    2. You can use the same Apple ID on up to 10 total devices - but there is a five computer limit in that total of 10 devices.
    3. If you use one ID for some things and then use the family ID to download past purchases for free - you will lock themselves out of the other ID for 90 days.
    4. When you download a past purchase on an iDevice using a different ID - you associate that device with that ID and you are locked into that ID only for 90 days.

    IIf you forgot your restrictions passcode, you have to restore your devoce using iTunes and you will totally erase the device. There is no way around it. if by some chance you have a backup that does not contain the passcode that you can't remember, you can restore that backup to remove the passcode. Otherwise, restore as new.
    You will have to download your eBooks again. If you are purchasing books for the iBooks store, most of those can be downloaded again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID that you bought them with - and as long as they are still available in the iBooks Store.

    Has anyone seen this error message "This Apple ID has already restored to the maximum number of devices in the last 90 days"? We get this when we use iCloud to restore a master backup to iPads in a school computer lab. The first 9 or so restores go without a problem and then we start getting the error. The iPads are running iOS 5.01.
    We previously used iTunes to do the restore and did not have a problem, but it takes a long time to deploy to the 25 iPads. We were hoping that using iCloud would be faster.

    Authorising only applies to computers, iOS devices (iPad, iPhones, iPod Touches) don't count - you can't increase the number of computers that can be authorised.

    Forgot to add, no you won't lose your stuff. You just can't use it till you reauthorize the computer. When you try you will be prompted to do so.

    Yes it will. When you restore it will totally erase the device. But if you backup, as recommended, you can restore from the backup and the photos in the camera roll will be restored. If you don't backup, and you haven't imported the photos to your computer, then the photos are gone.

    I plugged the iPad air into my computer and iTunes recognized it, then I downloaded the 7.0.6 update.  The update then gave an error message and aborted.  Now my iPad won't turn on, and iTunes does not recognize it.  Neither does my computer (windows 7, doesn't show up under "My Computer" anymore).  I've updated both Windows and iTunes, but no luck.  I've followed all the steps in both http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 with no luck.  The iPad displays the apple logo and then that connect to iTunes screen and nothing else.  Shutting it off with home and sleep buttons does nothing.  Plugging it into the computer does nothing.  Now what?

    Unfortunately your iPad is in recovery mode now and the only way to get it to work is to restore it using recovery mode and that will totally erase the device.
    If you have a backup, you can restore from the backup after the device is up and running again. Worst case scenario, you can download most of your purchased content again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID that was used to make the purchases.
    I don't know what else to suggest other than to use another computer or try various cables, and USB ports on your computer. If you have a friend or family member that is running iTunes on their computer, you might be able to restore the iPad using theirs. If that isn't possible, make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask them to restore it for you.
