Try resetting the printer as described in the link below

Hey Spider! First off welcome to the forum.
I would recommend removing all the ink cartridges, unplugging the USB cable from the computer that connects to the printer, and then shutting the printer off completely by removing the power cord. Then restart your computer. Turn the printer back on but leave it disconnected from the computer. After it has finished its power on cycle go ahead and insert the ink cartridges back into the printer and be sure to seat them properly.
After you have all the cartridges back in the printer properly then connect it to the computer. See if this resolves the issue. If not post back with any findings.
    Thanks,

  • All-on-One printer ink system failure with unusual error code

Woe is me (and my kids)!   Got the 'printhead problem' message while using my C6380 printer.  Followed all instructions - cleaned the printhead, replaced the cartridges with new HP products, reset the printer - but persistently getting the 'ink system failure' message.  The error code is Oxc19a0007 which is NOT one of the many listed error codes -  ...0006 and ...0008 are on the list but not ...0007.
    Any ideas, anyone?

  • HP c7280 Oxc19a0035: Ink system Failure

Even after following steps provided by suggested support, after a printing few pages I get the same error again. And of course this happens after my warranty has expired. Is this a fixable problem or am I sunk? I have rebooted, reset and even sent it to a family member who does this sort of thing all day. The error messages are not always the same. Sometimes I just get the ink system failure message alone without the error code. More often than not when I try to reboot the printer it gets hung up and does not restart until the second or third time. Or As I try to properly reboot it, it tells me that I have not rebooted properly and to try again.
    Thanks in advance,

While it looks like your printer needs to be services there is also a thread with some suggestions out there with some results for this same issue. I have linked this thread this post. You will want to look at message 16 and 17 for what seems to be a resolution for your same printer. Hope this helps.

  • Since I installed Mountain Lion operating system, I cannot print.  I have a HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one printer.  I get a message when I try to update the software "Server not available  The software update service is currently not available."

After installing Mountain Lion, my printer doesn't work.  I know it is connected as it shows up,  The message is:
"The printer software was installed incorrectly.  Please reinstall the software for this printer or conact the anufacturer for assistance."
I used the disk that came with the printer as when I go to the HP site, it tells me that Apple has the drivers needed.  I unistalled the printer and reistalled.  Previously, I just went to the HP website an everything worked fine for drivers, program, etc.  I never had to use the CD that came with the printer.  My printer is:  HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one, it is wireless, but I even took the computer and plugged it into the printer to make sure that everything was connected.  Can someone please help me to get this working,
    Thank you,

    Printer = PhotoSmart C7280
    Situation #1
Printer screen displays message "Ink System Failure" with error code 0xc19a0035
    Situation #2
All lights flash - printer screen is blue with symbol (power) and message b03771de in white.
    Is this printer beyond  saving?
The printer may have suffered from a sudden power outage prior to these problems appearing.
PC - operating system is not relevant.

The same thing happened to me ... I tried everything.  If I turned it off and put it back on it would print or copy but thats it.  I finally just bought a new printer.  HP officejet pro 8600 e all in one.  Stay away from this one if you have to buy a new printer.  Its not half as nice as the C7280.  No preview when you print and you can't even pick which pages you want to print.  A lot of wasted paper and ink!  Seems quite a few of us are getting that error message from the C7280, maybe HP did something wrong and should compensate us for the malfuncuntion!  Now I wish I didn't buy another HP.

  • "HP AIO Printer 7180 " Ink System Failure- Worth Repair ?

Hi              I have the above all in one printer. it is maybe 8 years old now but an excellent, top of the line printer at that time. I have gotten an " ink system failure" warning and nothing works. I have been told that this means the printer is basically shot-to chuck it-and buy a new one. Its such a nice unit, it seems a shame to not try a repair. my local printer repair shop in Vancouver -eltek- has quoted me about $50 to check it out and up to repair from there. I've heard that this is a common problem with this unit. Question- As I am Disabled , on fixed low income,  can I attempt a self repair and if so , what can I attempt? Would it be worthwhile to pay for this problem repair or should I just write it off and save $100 for the newer type, disposable printers ?                                                                                                              Thanks Most Kindly   Brian Smith in North Vanc

Hey ,  Welcome to the HP Support Forum.  I understand your Photosmart C7180 All-in-One Printer is stuck in an error state.  I would like to assist you with this.   According to this article from HP, the sole troubleshooting recommendation is performing a hard reset.  Beyond that, I recommend you reach out to our tech support team. You can click on the following link to initiate a case: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Once you fill out the online form to create your case you can choose from different direct contact methods.  Even though your printer's out of warranty, you might be able to look into alternative servicing or replacement options with HP.   Addressing your questions about D.I.Y. repair and third-party servicing, I do have some advice that you may want to take into consideration.  The printhead on your C7180 is fixed/permanent.  This means you can't readily take it out and clean it or replace it like you can in other printer models.  Is it possible to dismantle the entire unit and identify the source of the error status (likely the printhead) and repair it on your own?  Maybe... but there are no official guides from HP that support this approach.  With some research online (Google, cough, YouTube, cough ) you might be able to find tips on how to go about this, but we rarely advise this route as it can exacerbate existing issues or create new problems.   Third-party repair businesses may have their own methods for fixing these types of printer errors, but I'm doubtful that they can guarantee a positive outcome, especially with this type of error.  You can end up wasting  money on a fruitless repair.  We don't do pre-sales tips in the Forums, otherwise I'd recommend budget-friendly printers from HP that would match and in many cases exceed the capabilities of your C1780.  If you do end of deciding to pick up a new printer you can checkout new HP models here.   I hope this helps.  Have a great day!

  • Officejet 6500 ink system failure - hp printers used to be good, but are trash now

I'm so frustrated. I have an Officejet 6500 that gave me an Ink System Failure warning. I read that it probably was a low cartridge and so I replaced the low one - according to the level indicator, it still had ink - and it started working again. Then I got the error again. According to the HP print manager software, all cartridges had ink, but now the magenta looked low, so I replaced it. (As a side note, this printer EATS the expensive high capacity cartridges. I thought it was a good value to buy the higher capacity cartridge, but if I get a dozen pages out of them I'm lucky.)
So now I have tried cleaning the printhead using the manager software, which doesn't work because the printer is still in Ink system failure mode. So I took out all the cartridges, cleaned the printhead - it was inky - cleaned the contacts, reset using the turn on, unplug power cord from printer, from wall, wait 15 seconds, plug in to wall, plug in to printer. Still have the error. Did it all again. Still have the error.
I'm so irritated. I spent good money on this printer, and the expensive HP ink, because I'd had good luck in the past with HP printers. But this one h as eaten up  hours and hours of my time and cost me hundreds of dollars in ink alone and STILL  WON'T PRINT. Is there some other secret reset method that isn't documented? Some other test I can do? According to the troubleshooting guide, I"m now supposed to replace the printhead, and then if that doesn't work send the printer for servicing. Hello? You told me to replace the ink cartridge, so I wasted expensive ink doing that. Now I'm supposed to replace another part, without any real idea whether it will fix the problem or not? There's no diagnostics on this printer that can figure out exactly what part of the ink system has failed?
If anyone has any ideas how to get this piece of junk to print I'd really appreciate it. I'd love to be able to keep this printer working for a little while longer because I'm trying to get a business off the ground and just don't have lots of unused money sitting around to throw at solutions that "might" fix my problem. I've become so disullusioned with HP. They used to make great products, but now unfortunately the products and the support seem to have gone down the tubes together. I will NEVER buy another HP printer even if they fix the quality issues.

Try cleaning the print head with rubbing alcohol wipe, then replace your print head. Keep pushing the Ok.
Go to this link and HP shows you how.

    Lucky for me it worked!

  • Blue screen on c7280 all in one reads b851fe84. lights flicker on and off. will not turn off.

HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One printer.  Operating system is Windows XP.  This has happened sporadically over several months.  A few weeks ago, I inserted new ink cartridges and that seemed to stop the problem.  Now, it has returned.  The on/off button will not turn the printer off.  The photo-menu, print photos, auto answer, on/off button, plus a light near the card slots all blink on and off.  The PhotoSmart Express displays a blue screen with B851FE84 written on it.  On occasion, I have received other blue screen messages but they appear for just a second or two.  I believe one earlier today was B01B17FC but it only appeared for a second or two so it may not be correctly recorded.

  • Black Ink won't print & "Ink System Failure"

I have a 3 year old HP Photosmart Plus e-ALL-IN-ONE B210, Product # CN217A.  I was doing a lot of printing yesterday, noticing that I was getting low on Black ink.  Then I got a very light page and changed the black ink cartridge.  I installed it and....nothing!  I cleaned the print heads...nothing.  Thinking I had a bad cartridge, I went to the store and exchanged it.  Again, nothing.  So following direction's on HP's website, I removed the print head and gently wiped it off.  I placed it back, following directions, reinserted the ink cartridges and now I get the "Ink System Failure."  I also cannot align the print cartridges, either.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As it's 3yrs old, it's likely out of warranty (typically warranty is a year from purchase date). It might be worth soaking the printhead as described by @Bob_Headrick below....
    1) Get a pan and put 1/2" of very hot (not boiling) water in the bottom.
    2) Next remove all the ink cartridges, then remove the printhead assembly.
    3) Gently put the printhead nozzles down in the water and let it soak for five minutes.
    4) Remove the printhead and gently dry the electrical contacts.
    5) Put the printhead back in the printer and then reinstall the ink cartridges.
Please let us know if this works

  • Ink system failure 0xc19a0022

    Hello,
I reset the printer and clean the printer-head. Then I reset the printer again and still have error message. Model B209a. Can you help thanks!

Hi jgstary, sorry to hear that you are getting an Ink system failure on your printer. I see that you have already done the reset's on your printer. One other step I would like you to take is to please make sure you have the Power cable connected to a wall outlet and NOT in a Power Bar/Strip. HP printers already have a built in surge protector and if you have it in a Bar/Strip, the printer will not get all the power needed to function properly and it will cause false errors on the display screen. Here is a document that explains the issues with the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector .   Once you have the printer back on, if you are still getting the “Ink system failure” error, please click on the following link to troubleshoot 'Ink System Failure' or a '0x...' or a 'C2...' Error Message Displays on the Front Panel .
If the issue is still on the screen, please contact HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 or if you are outside North America, please Contact HP Worldwide.

While printing a 5 page document, my printer just stopped after shooting out 4 of the printed pages.  The screen started blinking and is read -Ink system failure, unable to print ,refer to printer documentation, Error OXC 18a 0001- This printer is an HP Photosmart C8180 All-In-One, just 9 days out of warrenty.  I can not find any reference in the printer documentation regarding this error number.  I can not print anything, even color.  I have turned the printer off, unplugged it waited 15 seconds replugged it, turned it back on.    I have cleaned all the cartridges and print heads with a coffee filter and distilled water.  Nothing seems to work I think it might be a problem with the print head but do I have to replace all the the heads or just the black one?  They cost somewhere near $40.00 each and I bought the printer  last Feb on sale for $139.00.  It seems foolish to replace heads when the printer was so cheap, but throwing it away also seems foolish to me.  I just think you should get more than a year and a couple of days out of a HP printer. Has anyone had this problem and knows how to fix it????
