C7280 all in one software help

Hi, My computer stared saying "Scanner not found" when I tried to scan things. I have tried multiple things, including restoring the print/fax info from a previous TimeMachine backup. the scanner will scan to a thumbdrive. The latest thing I tried was to remove/add the printer to my computer, as insteructed on an HP help site. However, when I tried to add the printer, I get a message saying "software is not currently available for this printer". I do not even remember if i got a CD with the printer, and if I did I cannot find the **bleep** thing (I have looked all over). HELP!! Now I can't even print on the thing.... Cohdey

Since I installed Mountain Lion operating system, I cannot print. I have a HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one printer. I get a message when I try to update the software "Server not available The software update service is currently not available."

After installing Mountain Lion, my printer doesn't work. I know it is connected as it shows up, The message is:
"The printer software was installed incorrectly. Please reinstall the software for this printer or conact the anufacturer for assistance."
I used the disk that came with the printer as when I go to the HP site, it tells me that Apple has the drivers needed. I unistalled the printer and reistalled. Previously, I just went to the HP website an everything worked fine for drivers, program, etc. I never had to use the CD that came with the printer. My printer is: HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one, it is wireless, but I even took the computer and plugged it into the printer to make sure that everything was connected. Can someone please help me to get this working,

My C7280 all in one will no longer scan to my computer. I get an error message that says "no scan options, refer to device documentation to troubleshoot". I have tried all I know. I have re-downloaded the origianl disc software numerous times to no avail. I have gone on line to download the software to no avail. I just get a message that states there was an error in the download.

HP Photosmart C7280 All in One installation problems with windows 8.1

Hi,
I have a HP Photosmart C7280 All in One printer which was working fine on wifi with Windows 8. A few days ago I got the prompt to upgrade to 8.1. Following this the printer would not work at all, and I got prompt/warning message to re-install the printer software. So I went to the control panel and removed all the old HP software, and tried to re-install the latest one from the HP site...to no avail.
I have tried doing this a number of ways - manual download, downloading the HP software that determines what software is required, then downloads it for you....
It seems to start unpacking ok, but then gets stuck on 'Checking System' and never progresses to do anything else. Help!

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you are encountering difficulties installing your Photosmart C7280 printer after upgrading your computer to Windows 8.1.
I have included the Windows 8: The Progress Bar on the Software Installation Stops or Stalls document. It will walk you through the steps to get the printer installed.
Please let me know if you encounter any difficulties while doing the above. If you do, please let me know at what step things went awry and what any error messages said. Please also include how you have the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet, or wireless). Thank you.

Scan menu on C7280 All-in-One has changed

The scan menu on my Photosmart C7280 All-in-One used to have a "Scan to iPhoto" setting. It has disappeared. It will still scan but when the scans go is anyone's guess. Can anyone help?

Yeah, they used the software update to dumb it down by removing a bunch of options, including resolution, type of scan and ability to name the folder and file name for the scanned item. Mostly made it useless - a big step backwards. When mine dies it will not be replaced by an HP unit; I'll find something that actually allows me to control what happens with the scanner. What a joke.

The fax function on my c7280 all-in-one printer ceased working since installing windows 8....?

The compatibility centre for windows 8.1 tells me that my printer is compatible with the new os and na action is required...Any suggestions??? Tks

I read about how you can no longer fax after upgrading to Windows 8. I have a couple of my own suggestion that might help!
1. Uninstall the Printer Software
2. Restart the PC
3. Reinstall the driver for Windows 8 here: HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers
Also, try the troubleshooting steps from this guide: Cannot Send or Receive Faxes
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you, such as a replacement or trade in. HP Photosmart c7280 All-in-One Mac 10.7.1 (Lion) the "Two-Sided" option is grayed and cannot use?

I have a HP Photosmart c7280 All-in-One printer and a Macbook Air that runs the Lion operating system (10.7.1).
I am trying and needing to print via the "Two-sided" option that appears under the "Layout" pull down tab option, however, the "Two-Sided" option appears to be greyed out as if you are not allowed to use it. I am sure that that is not the case I just do not know how to unlock it yet I guess?
I just made sure that all of my software was up to date and it is currently.
Everything else is perfect about the printer and I have been using it for years, so thank you! I would just like to know what on earth I am doing wrong or need to do to unlock that "Two-sided" setting, so I do not waste a ton of paper! Thanks again!

Hi DAP413,
In order to actiate the Two-Sided duplex accessory, you have to enable it from the printer settings:
-Enter System Preferences > Print & Scan
-Double click the Photosmart printer name to open the Print Queue.
-Click the Printer Setup button
-Click the Driver tab and make sure the Two-Sided Printing Accessory option is checked.

Two-sided printing with HP C7280 all-in-one?

Howdy all!
I just bought an HP Photosmart C7280 all-in-one. While ordinary printing works fine, I see no way to do two-sided printing with the current driver. (The accessory is already installed by default.)
Has anyone managed to get this to work?

Hi Randy,
Yes the upside down issue was fixed for me, but only when I manually downloaded and installed the latest HP print drivers from Apple support directly. Apparently the automatic update doesn't recognize the network printer, so it won't download the drivers. I can't remember the exact driver I downloaded and installed, but it was the latest that included the All In One 7200 series. This is the latest I could find, and I believe it was what I downloaded

My HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One printer won´t print out documents, just pictures. I´ve used the printer, since it was new on the marked, and it has worked perfectly until a few weeks back. There is no problem printing out pictures, but only blank pages comes out when I´m printing out documents. Regardless if it is Word, Excel etc.
I´ve never used anything else than original cartridges, and the printer is used on Mac OS X 10.7.4. I´ve tried to reinstall the printer several times without any success.
Can anyone help me?

Blue screen on c7280 all in one reads b851fe84. lights flicker on and off. will not turn off.

HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One printer. Operating system is Windows XP. This has happened sporadically over several months. A few weeks ago, I inserted new ink cartridges and that seemed to stop the problem. Now, it has returned. The on/off button will not turn the printer off. The photo-menu, print photos, auto answer, on/off button, plus a light near the card slots all blink on and off. The PhotoSmart Express displays a blue screen with B851FE84 written on it. On occasion, I have received other blue screen messages but they appear for just a second or two. I believe one earlier today was B01B17FC but it only appeared for a second or two so it may not be correctly recorded.

Printing borderless 4 x 6 photos from iPhoto on HP C7280 All-In-One?

I'm trying to help a friend with a printing problem and can use some help.
My friend uses a Macbook Pro running the latest version of OSX. He has a Hewlett Packard C7280 All-In-One as his printer.
My friend Joe likes to print 4 x 6 borderless photos from iPhoto but can't seem to make it work. Each time he tries to print a 4 x 6 borderless photo the photo comes out on 8.5 x 11 paper. The filled photo paper tray does not engage. He has "told" the printer that he wants 4 x 6 borderless on photo paper by making the appropriate selections.
This problem does not occur if he prints the pictures using HP Printing Solutions, the photo management application that came with the printer. When he uses the HP application he gets what he wants, 4 x 6 borderless prints.
I suspect that there is some setting currently unknown to us that needs to be adjusted in either OSX or iPhoto to enable us to print 4 x 6 borderless pictures in the same way we can with the HP photo management application.
Can anyone help?

I don't have any HP, I use Canon, but if I give you the steps I need to take from iPhoto 09 to print borderless 4 x 6, then you may be able to apply this to your friends printer.
In the iPhoto 09 print dialog, I need to select:
Printer: Canon MP980
Presets: Photo on Photo Paper
Paper Size: 4"x6" (borderless)
Print Size: Borderless
Now when you press Print, the print dialog will appear. Here I have to select Presets again and set to Photo on Photo Paper. I then change the iPhoto menu to the Canon quality menus to set additional information about the image quality. Now it is ready to print.
