C7280 driver + solution center install in windows 8

Is hp going to release drivers that will make solution center  work with windows 8?
I tried installing under compatibility mode windows 7 but with no sucess.
I am tried connecting it through wifi, it finds the printer but when it goes to install it, it fails

Yes HP will release software for this printer for WIndows 8 so until Windows 8 releases I would recomend using the in-OS driver that is in Windows 8.  If you want to scan you should be able to if you install it via USB.

    Hi Warren,
I assume you simply plugged the printer without preinstalling any software. Please correct me otherwise.
Please remove the existing device as following:
Unplug the USB from the back of the printer.
Enter Control Panel > Devices and printers
Right click any 1400 printer icon, then click Remove Device.
If there are several icons of your printer, repeat the same for any of them.
    Reboot your PC.
Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Left click once any presented printer (e.g. Fax), then click Print Server Properties on the Top bar.
    Click the Driver tab.
If there is any 1400 listed, select it and click Remove.
Select to remove the 2nd option. Remove printer driver and printer driver Package.
Download and install the Full Feature Software for your printer (HP PSC 1400 Series) below:
*Make sure not to connect the USB till prompted to do so during the install.

    Hi @aggie62,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that your HP Officejet pro 8610 driver will not install on Windows 8.1. I am happy to help!
    A few questions for starters:
What happens when you try to install the driver?
Do you see any error messages?
How is your printer connected? Wireless, Ethernet, or USB?
Are you able to make copies with your printer?
In the meantime, please try the following:

  • Solution Manager Install on Windows/MSSQL-Dev/QA/Production R/3 on AIX-UNIX

    Hello,
We are about to install Solution Manager Install on Windows/MSSQL.  Our current R/3 4.7 Enterprise environments (Dev/QA/Production) are installed on AIX-UNIX servers running Oracle 9i.
Is installing Solution Manager on a windows environment compatible with our R/3 servers in relationship to our transportation management system existing in a UNIX environment?  i.e. can Solution Manager on windows control transports across our UNIX landscape?
If so, could someone point me in the direction of documentation/notes on this?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
The HP Solution Center is not a part of the software for the HP Officejet 6600, it is a part of your previous HP printer's software.
From the windows 8 screen type HP and open the HP Officejet 6600 software, the HP Printer Assistant which is the software for your current printer will launch.

  • How do I get the HP solution center back on windows 7

I have an officjet pro 8500 all in one printer. It was on windows vista but after a computer crash I have installed it on windows 7 but I cannot do anything with it because I am unable to get the hp solution center to work. I have downloaded the new software and drivers and yet it still tells me that the hp soluntion center cannot run because your device installation is not complete. I reran the disc with the network option but it still wont work. Does anyone know of anything I can do to get this to work. I cannot scan or anything with it just copy.
    Thank you

There are two approaches to try.
The First Method is easier - the Second Method is more likely to work.
It would help if I knew your exact printer model; it may not matter.  It sounds like you have already downloaded your printer's installation package from your printer's website -- you will need the installation package for both methods.
    Method One:
Remove the software bits with the following:
Fixit -- Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled
Reboot the computer and log in
Install the software package -- probably from your Downloads folder
    HP Officejet Pro 8500 - A909g - Full Feature Software Win7
    ====================================================================================
    Method Two:
    By pcwizard
    Step one: Clear temp directory
Type %temp% in the run or search for programs and files field
Highlight all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to delete.
NOTE:  If you get a message that the file is in use you will need to skip this/these file(s).
    Continue with Step 2 below
Step two: Downloaded and extract to your system:
    1. Download the Full Feature Software and drivers from your printer's website
    2. Once the download is finished double click on the file to extract the software.
    3. When the installation window opens press the cancel button to stop the installation
    4. Type %temp% in the run or search for programs and files field
    5. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
    6. Right click on the folder, and select Copy
    7. Close that window, and all your open windows, and then in the middle of the desktop right click your mouse, and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder to your desktop
    8. Open the 7z folder you just copied to your desktop
    9. Open folder Util
    10. Open folder CCC
    11. Run the uninstall_L4
    12. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
    13. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools folder under all programs
    14. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
     15. Open the 7z folder, and then double click on the Setup.exe file which will be toward the bottom of the open window. Follow the on screen instructions to reinstall your printer

    I hope this helps.

    Hey @redleader74,
At this time I am going to have you unlock the hidden System Administrator Account and attempt an install under there. Ideally, if everything installs fine you should be able to log back into your normal User Account and the complete software and driver package for your HP Officejet J6480 All-in-One Printer will be installed and functional. Can I please have you follow the steps below.
    Step 1: Uninstall Drivers:
    Click on your Start menu
    Select All Programs
    Select the HP folder
    Select your HP Officejet
    Select Uninstall
Please follow any onscreen prompts to complete the uninstall. Once the uninstall is complete please proceed to the next step.
    Step 2: Clear Temp Files:
    Click on your Start menu
In the 'search programs and files' box located right above Start after you click on it, type %temp% and hit enter on your keyboard
When the Temp folder opens, select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will now highlight.
Select the 'delete' button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains temporary internet files. No actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting the Temp files. Should a Temp file still be used than you will automatically get the pop up to 'skip' that item.
Close the Temp folder once it is emptied
Right click the Recycling Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycling Bin
Step 3: Unlock System Administrator Account:
Click on your Start menu and under the 'search programs and files' box type CMD
CMD will populate as a search option above, just right click on it and 'run as administrator'
Once CMD (Command Prompt) opens, type net user administrator /active:yes and hit enter
Next, close CMD and restart your computer
When your computer comes on log into the new Account that should show. It will be called Administrator and will not have a password on it.
If your computer automatically logs into your account after restart than go to your start menu click the arrow beside 'shutdown' and choose 'switch user'. Now log into the Administrator Account we just unlocked
    Step 4: Install Device:
Under the Administrator Account please click here to download the latest drivers for your printer.
Once the website opens select the Download button on the top left
Once the download is complete please follow the onscreen instructions to install your printer
Once the installation is complete, please test the functions of your HP Officejet to ensure that everything is functioning properly now. If everything installs fine, log out of the Administrator Account and back into your normal User Account. All the Software and Drivers for your product should show installed now on your Account. Once you're logged into your User Account please test your HP Officejet again to verify that your print and scan functions are still working.
If everything works fine, you will want to Hide the Administrator Account.
Go to your Start menu and under the 'search programs and files' box type CMD
CMD will populate as a search option above, just right click on it and 'run as administrator'
Once CMD (Command Prompt) opens, type net user administrator /active:no and hit enter
Next, close CMD and restart your computer
Please let me know if these steps resolve your issue. Good luck!

  • USB Console (Serial) Driver fails to install on Windows 8.1 x64

The USB console cable driver v3.1 will not install on Windows 8.1 x64.  Had a similar problem with Windows 7 x64 but this was fixed using Greg's (greggar25) excellent step-by-step procedure (see post: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11492306/usb-console-driver-install-failing).
I am using the driver from this link: http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=282774228&flowid=7442&softwareid=282855122&release=3.1&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest
I followed the same procedures I did for Windows 7 and the install goes without a hitch.  Reboot and connect the USB cable, opened Device Manager and now I have a COM Port randomly appearing and disappearing with its number incrementing well above 1,000.
A few times while it appeared for a few seconds, I was able to right click on the properties, update the driver and chose Cisco Serial and it settled down but it did not assign a COM port.  Then a few seconds later, it starts the disappearing/reappearing thing again.
Anyone have luck getting this to work with Windows 8.1 x64?

     Hi,
open Device Manager by simply typing the words on the Windows 8.1 Start Screen. The Search Charm opens and click Device Manager in the displayed list.
In Device Manager a new hardware category, CiscoUsbConsoleWindowsDriver, is displayed. It has two components: the Cisco Bus enumerator and the Cisco USB to Serial adapter. Expanding the Ports hardware category shows a new Cisco Serial port.
     or
    Look into below
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11492306/usb-console-driver-install-failing
    1) Install the usb console driver\windows 64\setup(x64)
    2) Follow the wizard and accept the defaults
    3) Restart the computer (the installer usually says it needs a restart)
    4) After restarting the computer, plug in the usb cable
    5) The computer should say installing Device driver software and fail at the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00
    6) Click the Windows button, right click computer, manage
    7) Under Computer Management, Click Device Management
    8) Go to Ports (COM & LPT)
    9) You should see the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00 with a Yellow Exclamation point on it
    10) Right Click on the Cisco Virtual Comm Port00 and select Properties
    11) Click the Driver Tab
    12) Click Update Driver
    13) Select Browse my computer for driver software
    14) Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
    15) Choose the Cisco Serial Driver
    16) Device Driver is installed successfully, take note of the com port it is using and enjoy.

  • Lenovo Solution Center install problem - Error 1721

Hello, I'm trying to install Lenovo Solution Center to my computer again, after not properly uninstalling it. I simply deleted the files and repaired the registry thinking that it would be fine, and it is not.
I'm getting the Error 1721 upon installing, installer tries to execute 'KillProcessLSC.exe' under Lenovo Solution Center folder and it cannot, since I deleted them. I need the files under Lenovo Solution Center folder so I can make the installer pass the 'Killing LSC' step, or at least think it passed.
I got the idea to fixing it from this post. The guy restored the files from Recycle Bin and installer worked just fine. Since I already cleared my Recycle Bin and I did this over a year ago I cannot get the files from recycling. I simply need the files so I can make the installer execute the program it wants and passes that step that I get stuck on. If any other solution is available I'm free to try it, otherwise I'm pretty much sure putting the files in the Lenovo Solution Center folder will fix it. Thanks.

    @bl8demast3r,
    Your post 1 stated:
Whenever I try to run the hardware scan I get the error:
"Lenovo Solution Center service is not available. Please restart the application, or reboot your computer if the problem persists."
Your later post mentioned Scheduled scan, I assume LSC hardware scan.
    ===
Lsc during the last year has had issues where LSC software fails during a  manual run of hardware scan. Symptoms include Lsc service not available. You have the latest version of LSC.  Monitor what you see and post back if the "service not available"  screen shows up. Describe if this hardware scan was done manualy or a result of the scheduled monhtly run.

  • New printer driver failed to install on Windows 7

    Hello everyone,
Yesterday I purchased a wireless printer HP Envy 5530. When I installed the driver on my HP Pavilion mini windows 7(I don't know what the product name is since it is about 3 years old) , it failed. I called the HP printer hotline and spoke with someone in India. He told me there were some errors in my computer and I should pay them $149 to have them fix my computer. I am not sure this is the way that should be, or if there is any other method I can use to solve this problem? Please advise.

  • Sony MDR-zx550bn driver not found installing on Windows 7.

I keep getting "driver not found" when trying to install my headphones on a Windows 7 computer.

    Hi richardph22,
    Welcome to Sony Community!
Possibly the driver/s (Bluetooth or Audio) is not properly installed or, for some reason, deleted on your computer. Kindly follow the troubleshooting guidelines here:
If you're trying to connect your headphones to your computer via Bluetooth, please follow these steps:
Reinstall Bluetooth driver -> Go to Device Manager -> Bluetooth -> right click and Properties -> Driver tab-> select Uninstall (DO NOT DELETE) -> restart the computer. The driver will be reinstalled. NOTE: If Bluetooth is not listed, check under Network Adapters -> Bluetooth. Or Click View -> Show hidden devices.
Download or update Bluetooth Driver -> visit the support page (website) of your computer and download the Bluetooth driver.
If the headphones plugged in to the computer via headphones jack, kindly follow these:
Reinstall Audio driver -> Go to Device Manager -> double click Sound, video and game controllers -> right click and select Properties -> Driver tab -> Uninstall the driver/s (DO NOT DELETE) -> Restart the computer. The driver/s will be reinstalled. NOTE: If Audio is not listed, click View -> Show hidden devices.
Download or update Audio Driver -> visit the support page (website) of your computer and download the Audio driver.
    Hope these help.

I am trying to install the full package on my laptop. I get to the point where it is trying to execute something in this folder-

That may happen due to any 3rd party software which may block the software, as well due to a system issue as it happen in an early step of the software installation.

  • Adobe Flash security exposure in HP Solution Center Digital Imaging code

I have an HP Officejet 4500 with the HP Solution Center installed.
    Windows XP.
My security software identifies "Adobe Flash Player Multiple Vulnerabilities" embedded in the HP Digital Imaging product.
    The versions and locations are:
    Adobe Flash 10.0 r2
    C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\{7E0E61CC-1C99-429D-BEA7-C4DD5B898D2A}\setup\hwsetupwizard\setup_guide.exe
    Adobe Flash 9.0 r115
    C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\Help\player\FlashPla.exe
Apparently the Digital Imaging products uses these for help and setup functions. They were likely installed initially but I can't find any way to update them. I have tried all update functions available for the Solution Center.
Adobe Flash player is at version 11 as the standalone product on my machine, so this is not the issue.
    The vulnerabilities are real

    http://www.securelist.com/en/advisories/41917/?function=advisories&VN=41917
How do I get these Flash product versions updated? I am assuming if I delete the files the help and setup functions won't work.
    Thanks

Alright, well.Ltaff, first of all, to let you know Solution Center does not need a different version of Adobe Flash Player. AFP is merely a conduit that puts together the coding for Solution Center so that it can function, and if AFP is not up to date then it can cause problems.
If you have the most recent version, then those security issues have already been resolved through subsequent releases. Now, what it sounds like is that your security software is falsely detecting issues in the program or AFP was not correctly configured.
As a starting step, why don't we uninstall both the printer and Flash Player and reinstall them.
First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it. Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.
In the START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.
Then follow this link to download the full feature software and drivers for the printer. You will need to search for the correct model number of the 4500 you have (either G510a/g/n or G509a/g/n):
    www.hp.com/go/support
Then uninstall AFP from Programs and Features and install it from the download :
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?fpchrome
Install that and let me know the result!
    Have a great day!

  • Can't install Solution Center on Windows 7 64 bit to PSC 5140 printer shared from XP computer.

I recenntly got a laptop with Windows 7 64 bit installed.  I have a HP Photosmart C5140 All-in-One printer installed on a Windows XP desktop as a shared printer.  I am able to print to the printer from my Windows 7 laptop without a problem.  I want to install the HP Solution Center app so I can scan, etc from my laptop.  When I try to install the Solution Center on the laptop, it starts the install process fine but then gets to the dialog where it wants to know how the printer is connected.  The only options it provides is direct connected (USB) or network connected.  I choose the network connected option.  It asks for the IP address of the printer which isn't available since it is installed on the XP machine using USB.  I have tried using the standard MIcrosoft fully qualified network name (can't remember the technical term right now) for the XP computer where the printer is installed (i.e. \\computer_name\printer_name) but it still won't allow me to continue with the Solution Center install.  Possibly this type of install is not possible?  I thought I did something similar a year or so ago with a Vista laptop I had.

More than likely, you are receiving the access denied error because there may not be a HomeGroup in place.
To handle networks securely with Windows 7, Microsoft took a different approach.  A HomeGroup essentially creates a trust among all the devices in that home group.  If a device is not in that homegroup, then that system will essentially be denied access.
Click on Install a printer on a home network to get basic steps to install a printer in a network environment.
Click on HomeGroup: recommended links to get more information about Home Groups, including setting one up.
