C7280 NEW INK CARTRIDGES NOT RECONIZED

I bought a pack of all new ink cartridges. I was only going to replace the ones that were empty but after I got errors saying that the dark blue was now too empty I decided to change them all to new. It still says that the dark blue is empty and the dark pink one went from almost empty to totally empty. It tells me on the main screen that I cannot print because the blue one is empty but not the pink one. BUt if I go to the ink levels it shows both are empty. All of them are new. I tried to do this reset solution that I found on another post that has to do with holding down the # and 6 and that didn't work at all. I do see that there is a little splash of blue around the blue cartridge. I seriously need to get the printer working because I have to print out shipping labels. Thanks to anyone that can help me out.

    Can someone help me? I have only used genuine HP cartridges in my printer. Over the last three installs I noticed that one particular color (triangle blue - not sure the colorname) shows a little over half full and it is a new cartridge. My printer is a few years old and has been kept in excellent condition. Is there anything that can be done. I feel if I get a new cartridge it is only going to show the same thing as the current one.

  • New black ink cartridge not working

    I have installed new ink cartridges and all the colour ones work but the black will not print out. Level of ink is fine, touching where the ink comes out is wet and black as is where it goes in on printer, but will not print out black at all only colours. Any ideas as to why?

  • New ink cartridge is not being recognized

    I just installed a new ink cartridge in my np officejet pro L7580.  All the ink works great except the black. 

    Ok, I just figured out so I´ll post it here in case someone has the same issue. I turned off my iPod while connected to the computer. Afterwards, the "other" connection showed up again in the device manager but this time it stayed there without disappearing and with the exclamation point on. I then proceed with one of the instructions in this posting to install the driver for the apple mobile which then showed up in the USB section of the hardware (it was never there until now). Bingo! I got my iPod Touch to connect for the first time! But seriously, why should it be so hard???? I'm concerned with the number of postings here. It looks as if Apple is selling the hottest toys but not be the best ones in terms of quality...

    Which printer do you have specifically? HP makes several eprinters and I want to make sure I get the best information for you that I can.
    Also, have you tried doing a self test print to see if the issue is hardware related versus being software related?

  • Brand new ink cartridges, cleaned, still not printing

    Recurring problem on this printer, nothing helps.  Brand new ink cartridges, cleaned the inkheads twice, read though solutions for de-clogging the vents.  Able to print documents fine this morning, now---nothing.  Black ink not printing.  Frustrating, this is a recurring problem and am tired of going through more ink.  Ran alignment, just says "alignment failed" but no solutions offered/no troubleshooting given.  Suggestions?

    I see that your HP Photosmart is not printing black. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to help!
    For further assistance, I will need to know:
    The Product/Model Number of your printer. Follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
    If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
    If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well. 
    If you are using genuine HP ink cartridges, or refills.
    Once I know this information, I will be happy to do some further research for you.

  • PRO8600 Not recognizing new ink cartridge

    I just changed the cyan cartridge in my Pro8600 printer, as I have previously done with no problem.  However, the printer is not recognizing that the new cartridge has been installed.  After closing the door and allowing the machine to cycle through its initial process, the window again appears stating that the cyan ink is empty and must be replaced to continue printing. I've removed the cartridge and reinserted it several times to no avail.  I've also tried a second new cartridge, again with same results.  Any ideas?

    Welcome to the HP Forums.
    I see that you are having an issue with the ink cartridges not being recognized in the printer.
    I do have a few suggestions that we can try in the attempt to troubleshoot this issue.
    First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
    I have also located a document that deals with this issue as well as other errors.  Please click on the following link for when An 'Ink Cartridge Failure,' 'Incompatible Ink Cartridges,' or 'Ink Cartridge Problem' Error Message ....

  • How can I get my HP DeskJet 6540 to recognize the new ink cartridges I installed?

    Hi everyone. I have an HP DeskJet 6540 printer and I replaced the ink cartridges. After I replaced the cartridges, I aligned them and then did a test print. I noticed that the blank ink didn't print. I opened system preferences, and then I opened the printer utility. It says, "Device Status : Pen Failure." Current Supplies Levels says, "The current levels for the selected printer are shown below...Cartridge on the left (tri-color 97) is unknown and the the cartridge on the right (black 96) is missing." Oh, I forgot to mention that the print cartridge light on the left side is flashing. I went to the HP support website and it says that the problem could be an incorrect print cartridge, incompatible print cartridge, or problem with the (left/right) print cartridge.  The solution they offered was to remove, inspect and reseat the problem cartidge. It also said to clean the problem cartridge contacts. I did that and it still gives me the same results. I even reset the printer but still got the same results...
    So the next thing I try is the OTHER cartridges listed as compatible with my printer which is 94 (black) and 95 (tri-color). I bought the new cartridges, placed them in the printer and I still got the same message from the print utility. I took the latter cartridges back and got a refund and explained that none of the compatible cartridges are working with my printer. I kept the 96 and 97 cartridges in the printer and the light on the left continues to flash so now I'm here asking if anyone knows how I can get my printer to recognize the new ink cartridges I installed?  Are there any other solutions that I have besides throwing the printer out of the window? :-)

    With all that you have done it does sound like the printer has a fault. If you haven't tried turning off the printer for several minutes, then this would be worth trying (maybe you have done this when you say reset the printer?).
    If the cartridge light on the printer flashes when you turn the printer back on then it sounds like a hardware fault - not the driver or the operating system. And this is not usually something a user can resolve so it would need repair. And for the cost of a new printer, why would you bother.
    If you plan of sticking with HP and getting another model that can use the 96 & 97 cartridges (let's face it, they often cost more than the new printer), then take the two existing cartridges to the store and see if they will let you check they are okay. No point throwing them out also if they still have a fair bit of ink still in them.

    I see you are having troubles with your black ink.
    Please complete all of the steps in the following document; Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages Although I hope this resolves the issue, it might not. As you have a 5525, If the issue persists, I would suggest calling HP Phone Support, even if your printer is out of warranty, as you may require a replacement printer.
    The number to call HP is 1-800-474-6836 for Canada and US, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.

  • HP c7280 363 ink cartridges status

    Hi,
    after installing new ink cartridges, the status page often shows they are not full, and installation date shows 6 days earlier than i installed. Why?
    Screenshot below shows present date and install dates, and shows the newly install Magenta is about 80% full.

    I read your post about installing a new magenta and it showing as installed earlier than the date it was actually installed, and the ink levels lower than what it is for the same cartridge.
    Thank you for the screen shot by the way!
    I would suggest removing all of the ink cartridges, power resetting the printer (unplugging the printer power from the rear and wall outlet for 60 seconds and plugging it back in), then reinstalling the ink cartridges.
    After the printer is started back up, print out a test page:
    Press setup and press the down arrow to highlight Print Report and select OK.
    Press the down arrow again and select Self-Test Report and press OK.
    The page should now print out and show ink levels.
    I hope that helps and shows a more accurate reading!

    I am having trouble with my printer doing the alignment after I put in 2 new ink cartridges. The help section to align  gave me instructions but they didn't work.
