C7280

I have an HP computer, Windows 7, 64-bit & the HP Photosmart C7280. The drivers for this printer alone have been installed on this computer for someone else's use & has been working great. Now, we have swapped computers, & I need the HP Solution Center on this computer for ease in scanning, etc. For some reason, that is not on this computer.
So, I tried downloading & installig the drivers again in order to get everything, including HP Solution Center & HP Photosmart Essential 3.5 on this computer.
Downloading appears to be okay. During the installing phase through the Wizard, it reaches a point where it says installation failed and gives an error code of 32612548. It continues to report the error to HP & find a solution. It goes through a couple more screens & says it found a solution & supposedly installs it. Then when it continues a box comes up & says the Installer has stopped working & closes the program.
I've tried this about 8 times with the same result, even though I try little different things, such as downloading & saving the program, then installing or simply running the program rather than saving, etc. I even tried copying the bin files from my laptop which uses the same printer & has HP Solution Center & HP Photosmart Essential 3.5 on that desktop, hoping if something was missing on this computer, it would replace it. No luck.
Please help me find a way to get HP Solution Center on my desktop on this computer.
Many thanks!!

Hi @srmz
Maybe we can locate the MSI error code using the event viewer, please open the following link and complete the instructions below; A 'Fatal Error' (MSI error) Displays on the Computer During HP Software Installation in Windows
Click on "No, my error message does not include a numbered code"
Scroll down to "Step 2: Find the error code in the Event Viewer"
Choose your operating system and follow the instructions
While I wait to hear from you, try the Print and Scan Doctor and the Printer Install Wizard, one of these utilities might actually be able to resolve the issue and allow a successful install.

  • I have an hp photosmart c7280 all-in-one series printer won't print. error message, system problem

I have an HP Photosmart All-in-One C7280 series printer/fax/copier/scanner. I have been having issues with printing for the past few weeks. It is a wireless printer, with a jack into the wall (for fax) and it is plugged into a power source. I never used to have issues with it before, but recently, it won't print when I send a document to it to print. It will print its configuration pages, reports, etc if I select them from the Printer's menu but not when I send a doc to it to print. First it was saying it was offline, but I figured out how to override that by operating as an administrator and selecting "Use Printer Online" from the dropdown menu when I right clicked on the printer from the control panel. But now it says "Error: Printer failed to print document. System error".
Noooo clue what to do now. This is the only color printer we have so we kind of need it to work. We bought this printer off the shelf at a office store (before I started working here) and so we don't have any designated technichians to work on it. I asked the guy who services our Image Runner Copier to look at it but he had no clue what was wrong with it. Hopefully someone can help?

I'm trying to connect to my IPhone 5s to my wireless HP C7280 AiO printer. I just downloaded HP AiO Remote app. My printer is connected by ethernet to
the same wireless network as my phone. My phone can't locate the printer when selecting this wireless configuration. My printer is in the list of supported printers. Please help. Thanks!

The printer needs to be connected through the same WiFi network as the iPhone in order to use AirPrint. Connecting via Ethernet will not work.

  • Since I installed Mountain Lion operating system, I cannot print.  I have a HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one printer.  I get a message when I try to update the software "Server not available  The software update service is currently not available."

After installing Mountain Lion, my printer doesn't work.  I know it is connected as it shows up,  The message is:
"The printer software was installed incorrectly.  Please reinstall the software for this printer or conact the anufacturer for assistance."
I used the disk that came with the printer as when I go to the HP site, it tells me that Apple has the drivers needed.  I unistalled the printer and reistalled.  Previously, I just went to the HP website an everything worked fine for drivers, program, etc.  I never had to use the CD that came with the printer.  My printer is:  HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one, it is wireless, but I even took the computer and plugged it into the printer to make sure that everything was connected.  Can someone please help me to get this working,
    Thank you,

  • Can't wirelessly connect HP c7280 for home wireless network using A.express

Hey there, I'm hoping someone can help me. I recently purchased a HP C7280 multifunction printer and have had a wired connection with my new iMac. I'd like to connect wireless and am having extraordinary difficulty. I'm using the latest leopard update. HP doesn't seem to offer any clear assistance. so i'm using an airport express that's connected to my router. I set up a wep key 40 bit and am trying to input that information into the printer's wep key password request. It finds my wireless signal named "Airport" and asks me for a wep key, when i enter the wep key which is 6 letters and 2 numbers, the response I get from the printer is
"key must be >5 or 13 characters OR - >10 or 26 length with 0-9 and A-F (hex). I've tried to follow this request but i can't seem to make it connect. this aforementioned message keeps popping up. what must i do? i've even restored the printers network factory default to no avail

The HPc7280 printer seems to be notoriously buggy. Get the new updated driver from the HP website and try to reinstall from scratch. Make sure you delete the previous driver version, because it might be seeing that it was a wired connection. The HP cannot be set as a default printer on Vista machines, it has to be chosen as a printer. After many hours of setup, our HP is finally working seemlessly with our Macs and PC.

  • HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one problem printing. Ink System Failure has failed unable to copy--

I'm having a problem printing on my HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One. The following message is what came up on the printer screen: Ink System Failure has failed unable to copy, receive faxes or print. Refer to printer documentation Error O.cl9a0007.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Hey Spider! First off welcome to the forum.
I would recommend removing all the ink cartridges, unplugging the USB cable from the computer that connects to the printer, and then shutting the printer off completely by removing the power cord. Then restart your computer. Turn the printer back on but leave it disconnected from the computer. After it has finished its power on cycle go ahead and insert the ink cartridges back into the printer and be sure to seat them properly.
After you have all the cartridges back in the printer properly then connect it to the computer. See if this resolves the issue. If not post back with any findings.
    Thanks,

  • HP Photoprinter C7280 printer. The wireless radio is on but not functioning - so no wifi conection.

HP Photoprinter C7280 printer. The wireless radio is on but not functioning  - so am unable to gain wifi connection and print! - Why?   How do I fix, Thanks

I would guess that the printer's wireless radio has died.  Have you tried plugging the printer into your wireless router with an Ethernet cable?  It should work and give you the same functions as wireless.  Your computer or router will not care how the printer is connected.

  • HP C7280 Solution Center won't work after upgrading to Windows 7

I was running Vista and connected to the C7280 both wired and wireless. Last month or so has been wireless with no issues.
I upgraded to Windows 7, reinstalled the driver I had, and now when I try to scan I get an error that says "An unsupported operation was attempted" that pops up twice, then I get an error that says "An invalid argument was encountered".
Then a pop up window gives some steps to try to fix the problem.
I downloaded and installed driver PS_AIO_02_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_140.exe which didn't work.
I then removed the printer from hardware, and uninstalled the Solution Center software,
    Re-installed driver  PS_AIO_02_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_140.exe C7200 driver package and
    installed dot4patch_reboot.exe,
shut the printer down, unplugged it for a few minutes, rebooted the computer, and
    the same errors occur.
The driver is a year old, and I can't find a newer version.

  • No longer able to print from wireless MacBook Pro to wired C7280

I originally piggy-backed this onto an existing thread thinking that it was the same issue.  It looks like it was something else now, so I figured I probably ought to spin this off onto its own thread.
    Details:
Printer:  Photosmart C7280 All-in-One, connected to network via Ethernet, IP address 192.168.1.5 (confirmed with Network Menu > View Network Settings > Display Wired Summary)
Router:  Verizon/Actiontec MI424-WR (Verizon FiOS) with
    * Ethernet ports
    * 802.11b and 11g with WPA encryption
Desktop:  iMac with Mac OS 10.5.8, Ethernet connection.  I originally installed the HP software from the CD when we got the 7280 a few years ago, but we've probably upgraded it since then.
My Laptop:  MacBook Pro with Mac OS 10.5.8, wireless connection.  I think the HP software was originally downloaded from hp.com (as opposed to the original CD).
Wife's Laptop:  MacBook with Mac OS 10.6.3, wireless connection.  HP software downloaded from hp.com.
We've been able to print from the laptops to the 7280 until several days ago.  After that, anything sent from the laptops stayed on the printer queue without any reaction from the printer, even after the usual tricks (cycling power on printers, holding and unholding jobs, pausing and unpausing printers, etc.)
Our laptops seem to lose the wireless connection a bit more frequently than normal, and at first I thought that was the problem.  Lately, however, I can't get anything to print even when the wireless connection stays solid.  I can print from the iMac, though.
As noted above, my wife's MacBook has 10.6.3, so I'll try the instructions on other threads for uninstalling the HP software and using the built-in 10.6 drivers.  If I can pry the MacBook away from my wife long enough :-)
Meanwhile, I've been trying to troubleshoot my own MacBook Pro.  I can ping 192.168.1.5, and I can pull up the printer's web page by entering "192.168.1.5" in my web browser.
So I followed the instructions here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam e=c01893662&tmp_task=solveCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&c...
(title:  Mac OS X:  Print Jobs are Stuck in the Print Queue and Will Not Print on a Networked Product)
I followed Solution 1 (Delete and readd printer) until I got to steps 7 and 8.  The printer wasn't automatically added to the Printers list, so I clicked the Add button, but wasn't able to select my printer from the list.  Some of the information in Solution 2 seemed to hint that I had a connectivity problem, and suggested that I look for network connectivity solutions.  Unfortunately, all of the network connectivity FAQs referred to Windows-specific utilities, so I decided to uninstall the HP software (using HP Uninstaller).  I downloaded HP_Installer_PSC7200_v9.7.1.dmg from hp.com and ran it, but here's what happened:
At the Select Device step, no devices appeared even though the printer was powered up and on the network.  (As noted earlier, I can ping it.)  I checked "My device is not listed" and clicked Continue; when "Photosmart C7200 series" appeared, I selected it.
At the "Select the Device Connection" subset, I selected "Network." (The "device" in this question is the printer--right?)
I went through the Install step.
No device was listed at the Setup step.  I handled this the same way as the Select Device step ("My device is not listed", Continue, click "Photosmart C7200 series", Continue, select "Network", Continue.
This time, I got this dialog:  "If your device is not listed, it is not supported by this installer.  Please visit www.hp.com/support to download an installer, if one is available" even though this was the correct installer for C7200 and Mac 10.5.
Am I overlooking something?  What should I try next?
    This question was solved.

It appears that the printer is OK and is on the network.  Eventually you may want to set a static IP address for it, but let's get things working first.
The first thing I would try would be to reset the printing system on all the problem Macs:
    - Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
    - Right (control) click the print queue area and select Reset Printing System.
    - Select the plus sign to re-add it. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
If this does not do it there may be something going on with the router.  I have a few ideas if this is required.  Let me know.

  • Photosmart C7280 all-in-one: white screen

Turn on my C7280 and the display screen is all white.  The photo menu button is lit up.  Can't seem to turn that off and get the display screen to show the normal info.  It won't print either.
    Thoughts?

Hi - I'm assuming the printer had been working and you just started seeing this issue?  A couple of things to try:
    - Isolate the printer by removing the cable connecting the computer and printer.
    - Remove the power cord from the back of the printer - wait 30 seconds and then plug the power cord back in to the printer.
    - Power the printer back on.
    - If the printer powers on correctly and you get the correct display on the LCD, it sounds like it could be a problem with the cable connecting the printer and computer - but to verify, go ahead and reconnect and see if the printer continues to function normally.
    Hope that helps.

  • HP All in One C7280 no longer duplex printing

I have had my C7280 for over 2 years now and the duplex printing is working fine.  I have checked the control panel printer properties, verified that double sided printing is on for each print in my programs - and still the duplex printing no longer works.  It stopped working suddenly.  Any helps will be greatly appreciated.
Also, even tho I have paper in the feeder tray, it consistently refuses to accept that it is there and tells me to load paper.  I have tried everything I know.
Please someone help - this is end of year reporting time.

There is such as thing as being too close to the wireless router, try moving it at least 15 feet away.  Also, just turn it off and back on again, sometimes that clears up slow printing.

  • My Photosmart C7280 All-in-one Printer no longer turns on properly. Msg B83FCB56 What do I do?

My C7280 no longer turns on properly.  It only displays a message - B83FCB56 - on the message screen and the light below the camera icon in the lower right corner flashes rapidly.  No combination of key pressing bring forth any response.  Holding down the power=on button does not turn the machine off.
Is there anything  can do to get the scanner/printer working?
before this behavior the machine would, on occasion, go into a mode where all the lights on the displays would flash simultaniously.  Pushing the power button would cure this, but often the printer would only print a partial page before failing in the fleahing-light mode
    Any ideas?
