Ca I load CS5 in the background, at startup?

Bridge has an option to load in the background at startup, but I don't see any such for CS5. Is that possible? I know I can put CS5 in the startup folder, but that will not run it in the background. I'd like to do this to save time when going between photoshop work and other tasks and back again later.

I've never tried to start Photoshop "minimized" - I guess from your note that it won't start that way and we can assume that's what you mean by saying it won't start "in the background". How often are you rebooting or logging-in? I should think just minimizing Photoshop shouldn't be too much of a burden.
Perhaps the best you can do is to use Windows 7, with SuperFetch getting things all ready for you so it loads in only a few seconds.

I've written a javafx app running in the browser. It loads a bunch of images in the background. It worked fine prior JRE 7 u11.
However it is broken since JRE 7 u13. Images are not loaded correctly, failing with a SecurityException:

Loading JARs in the background

Hi,
I was wondering if it's possible to load web start app JARs in the background, while application is already running.
For example, I have main JAR containing everything that is necessary for application to start. However, there are some additional JARs that are not always needed. It would be nice if they could be loaded in the background even before they are needed, but their loading shouldn't interfere with application execution.
Is this possible to achieve with Web Start? Would I need to write custom class loaders or could this be done with standard JNLP options?

For the proof., check out my [JNLP API examples|http://pscode.org/jws/api.html]. All of the examples use the classes supplied in the javaws.jar, yet not one of them supplies the javaws.jar on the run-time classpath (though it is necessary for the build classpath - see the build.xml for details).

Is Firefox supposed to load in the background at startup?

This just started yesterday. I haven't done anything different with my computer/settings. After my computer starts up, clicking on an icon to go to a program, etc The program won't load and I get an error message about Firefox running in the background. According to Windows it's using 187,688k of memory and there's 4 plug-in containers that are running also. I don't remember seeing there plug-in containers in this window before. If I shut down my computer completely, restart, then everything's OK. What can I do to fix this problem. Thanks for your help.

Are you using Clear Recent History to clear the cookies when you close Firefox?

Firefox may not have closed properly the previous time.
Use "Firefox/File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit") to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the title bar.

Loading pages in the background (Android)

Hello, I have a problem with the tabs loading int he background in my Galaxy Nexus.
The thing is, let's say, I load a page in a tab and it finishes loading. I switch to another application, then I go back to the firefox and the page is reloaded, why? This is quite problematic in slow connections, sometimes I spend like a minute waiting for a whole page to be completely loaded. I even switch to other applications in the meanwhile a page is being loaded and, when I go back to firefox, it's showing the previous page, like before clicking the link I was waiting for to be loaded.
Also, sometimes I go back to firefox and some of the tabs I had closed on purpose, are automatically restored.
Is that a bug or is there any way to prevent this behavior? I really like this browser but these impediments make me waste a lot of time.

I am having this problem as well. I'm running a nexus 7. I also had this problem on my old Acer iconia a500.
This is my only major issue with Firefox for android.

Loading in the background

Hello, I have a problem with the iphone 5. When I'm at home without any open application icon appears next to the wifi icon in the form of clock showing that something is loading, but if I enter an application loading icon disappears, the background applications are disabled. Help.

My mac stays on the loading screen and when I boot into safe mode it loads the background but no icons

My mac was working fine the other day and I started it up today and it loaded to a blue screen so I restarted it and went to safe mode and it loaded up with the background and mouse but no icons. Could I please have any help thanks.

If you have the iMac connected to an old (or overcrowded) power strip, try connecting it directly to a wall outlet by itself. Make sure no other cables (other than the power cord) are connected.

Loading Flash Menu in Background?

I've inherited a website with a huge (2.5MB) flash menu system and would like to know if there is an elegant way to load it in the background from maybe an intro page that redirects to the home page after a certain amount of time - or possible when the menu is done loading. Thanks in advance.

Close programs running in the background

I have a program that I have been attempting to delete but it says that it is currently open and can not be deleted.   How do I force close a program that automatically runs in the background upon startup? (I can't locate the program itself other than in application where it does not offer me a close or force close option)   And Yes I tried restarting the computer.

See the following about uninstalling applications. Also, open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu. Locate this program in the list and select it. Now click on the Quit icon in the toolbar then click on the Force Quit button.
Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications. Here is a selection:

None of my CS5 suite works anymore............and i really dont want to upgrade to a monthly cloud service fee as i hate this policy with a passion.

I couldn't launch Dreamweaver CC. An error told me to install "java se 6 runtime". But when I clicked OK I got another error telling me there is a network problem! I found this forum post on CS6 products, so I tried the download link, installed java 6 and presto, it worked! Thanks!

I have a new computer running os10.9. my old computer ran cs5.5(upgrade version). I am trying to get CS5.5onto my new computer. when i load cs5.5 towards the end of the install it asks for the cs5.5 serial number. i put that in and everything is accepted

Loading an image in the background and displaying it as it is loaded

Hi,
I'm writing an "image viewer" swing component, which should load an image in the background, and display it as it is loaded (for example each time a line of the image is loaded, display it)
Is there a way to do this using JAI or any other api ?
I guess i would need a way to check the loading progress from the EDT, get the loaded part of the image and display it. Am I right ? Is that possible ?

In the video inspector set the Spatial Conform to "none". This will give tou the actual size of the image in the viewer. You can then use the transform controls to adjust the image to what you want to see.

When i load the page on line the link appear as well as the question marks in boxes on the background

When i load my Iweb photo page on line the writen links appear as well as the question marks in boxes, on the background? what can I do for that not to appear?

Where are you hosting your site and how are you uploading the files to it?
Publish your site to a folder on your hard drive and open it locally with your browser to see if these pages display properly or not. If the look OK then the problem lies with the uploading of the files to the server.
If the local site looks the same as the online site then the problem is more serious.

Firefox wont load background image on some sites but internet explore will load the background

i downloaded firefox awhile ago worked perfectly fine then all a sudden it wont load facebook background images the homepage of facebook loads background image but when i log in it wont load background image but when i try internet explorer it loads the background images fine i checked every setting redownloaded everyhing nothing fix's it tho

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains (e,g, sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net).
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.images pref should be 1.

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.
