Cabinet is Fibre ready, neighbour has it but BT Sa...

Hi I'm moving to a new build property. According to https://www.btwholesale.com/pages/static/Community/Broadband_Community/Coverage/ADSL_Availibility_Ch... the property will be served by a Cabinet that is already accepting orders for fibre from others connected to the same cabinet.
The Cabinet is Alloa 35.
Crucially in this checker and others it says that my address can't get fibre, even though cabinet is ready and next door has it. This is doing my head in as really want infinty when I move. BT Retail suggested I was connected to another cabinet, but when I asked which, they crucialy couldn't say. Even if it was, I believe all the cabinets in the Town are Fibre ebnabled.
Having dealt with @BTcare it appears no one is able to progress this.
Any thoughts?

The phone line and ADSL broadband can be done more or less at the same time but the Infinity install date may be a while after that.

As I spend a lot of time trying to recuce and eliminate failure demand through examining customer journeys at work, I just find this whole situation, somewhat strange.
Do you know of anyway around the install/moving fee considering it would be free if I could order the infinty?

Fibre Broadband availability (Cabinet is not ready....)

Hi all, So I've ready the information on this subject and I know i need to wait, but the openreach website has been showing fibre in my area since Jan 2015 but states something about my cabinet not being ready. My ISP is my only link to openreach (I assume) and I would like to ask if Sky would contact openreach to see why this is. Thanks

Fours since BT announced we were getting FTTC in our road, Three years since the twin cabinet was installed and connected, i know it is connected because i was talking to the three guys who were connecting the fibre bundle to the cab, they showed me the test kit results showing it was all connected to the exchange but still it is not enabled every time i contact BT i get a different reason for the delay, the last was that Network Rail own the land which the ducting is buried under and they wont allow access, BT did not specify why the need access but even if this is the case surely there are ways to come to an agreement, still not to worry as they have said it will up and running by the end of June, yeah and pigs might fly lol

I already had that done IE. I had duet already chosen as input and output etc etc.
The problem seemed to be the issue that was addressed by Eriksimon:
(( ctrl-click the track Header.))
Following that advice gave me a drop down menu which allowed the various buttons to be
checked and unchecked.

I need your help. I think my neighbour has been using my airport network. I only noticed this today when my computer detected his wireless network. His network is password-protected where mine isn't. I've added a password to my airport connection but I am not sure whether this has worked or not.
Is this enough protection?

There are some things that you can easily do using Airport Utility.
First, turn encryption on and select WPA as method, create long password for it. WEP is not as good as WPA (WPA2).
Then you must change your network name, so your neighbor needs to know your networks name and password to get access.
Also, you can turn on MAC address filtering, just add all your computers MAC address to the list.
And last, you can create a closed network. This means that your neighbor cannot see your network at all as it doesn't broadcast it's presence at all.
With these steps you can be sure, that no one uses your network without your permission.

See this article about troubleshooting the error message regarding access privelages. It may be preventing your iTunes library from being able to save/retain music you have recently imported to it, which may explain why no new content is being added to your device.

I have had numerous people call and ask why I didn't reply to their texts...and I look, but have not received any new texts. YES, I have restarted phone. I have cleared data as well as cache on all apps. I have downloaded the vzw messaging app, which seems silly, since it happens with several different processes and apps, but all to no avail. I am missing texts from my employer, from my family. This did happen, but rarely, before this "soak test". It is now Kitkat version 19.6.3.obake_verizon.en.US. THIS is when I started having problems...like 50 times a day kind of problems! I have seen hundreds of posts all over the internet over the past 3 days. Does no one know how to fix this??? Shouldn't there be a way to revert phone to a pre-update state? and no, hard reset did NOT work!!!! I have been with verizon for well over 15 years, but I have not upgraded my lines and will not in July either. This is ridiculous. It's not like my games aren't working, it is my messaging and "android os"...my lifeline at work!

Oh no, I am sorry to hear your messages are not working since the software update. I greatlly appreciate doing all that troubleshooting to try and get the messaging application back in business. I know how much I rely on my messages so I can understand the urgency to get this resolved. Have you had a resolution ticket opened since you started experiencing issues with your messages? Does this happen with all contacts or just some? Please provide additional information to ensure we get to the bottom of this for you.

I don't know what has happened but I can't open iPhoto. When I try to open it I receive a caution "The iPhoto Library is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have permission to make changes to it." How do I solve this??!!

I don't know what has happened but I now can't open iphoto. I get a caution when I try which says the iphoto library is locked! It was working perfectly fine this afternoon until I tried to upload some photos from my camera and my computer started to run very slow and wasn't recognising my camera. I tried to quit iphoto and then when I came back in to it, this was the message I received. As far as I am aware I didn't alter any settings or put on any locks. Please help!!

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

And since the old e-mail address is no longer active, I can't even chenge the password- becasue it's sends the link to do so via e-mail! Even when I use the "ask personal questions" option to verify and it asks me for my date of birth, I put it in and it still won't acccept.

How many pictures (or how many bytes) are we talking? Now that the pictures are imported one way to cross users is to use a removable drive (although large volumes of files preclude this).
The other is to login as the user where the pictures are, then copy them into the public drop box of the user where you want the picture.
The arrow is showing (in ths example) copy files from the Pictures folder for my user to the guest user accounts public dropbox. When you do this you may have to authenticate and you won't be able to see the results of the copy until you log in as the other user.
All users are in the folder "/Users/"

If you have both a device that supports AirPlay, and the iPod has Bluetooth turned on, then it should appear in Control Center (swipe up from bottom).
If you are talking about AirDROP, then in Control Center, the AirDrop button is right below the volume controls. (This AirDrop only works with other iOS 7 devices with AirDrop enabled, not Macs). I have tested this feature, and it works fine.

Without knowing anything else other than iTunes or you PC gets confussed, try another USB port on the computer - do not use a hub or the port on the monitor if you use a desktop, quit iTunes, reboot your PC and restart the iPad and then try again.
If that doesn't work - it would really be helpful to have just a little more information - other than the PC gets confussed.

I have a Panasonic FZ38 HD camera. I can load and view my hd movies onto iMovie with no problems via my camera or a card reader. When I try to copy my hd videos from my old Windows pc to my new iMac, the picture speed has doubled but the sound is normal.

I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ38 HD camera and have lots of hd movie clips stored on my old Windows Pc using Photofun software supplied by Panasonic, which I want to transfer to my new Imac computer. I am able to copy my most recent movies that are still on the memory card from my camera onto Imovie and view them with no problems at all. When it comes to copying my old existing hd movies stored on my Windows Pc (and which are no longer stored on a memory card), I discover that when I view them on the Imovie, the speed has doubled but the sound is normal. In order to transfer my old movies I have copied them back onto a memory card (SDHC - the same card as previously used) and then put the card back into my camera and then copied them onto my Imac via the camera USB. I have also used a card reader but get the same result. If I view the same movie through my camera, or look at it on my old pc, it plays at normal speed. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening please?

iM is a bit.. iffy, when it comes to the definition, what a 'camera' is. historically, only tape based machines were a movie-camera. nowadays still-cams allow movin' images too..
but, as mentioned above: the intended workflow is: material from photo cameras (even when they move) => import via iPhoto; material from video cameras (even when they don't move.. ) => iMovie
when the import is done, you'll notice in all iLife apps the 'media browser' - in iM09, on the very right, the icon with a camera on.. click it, presto, all (incl. your 'videos') your iPhoto Library at hand for usage in iMovie.
