Cable accessory not supported fix

So I manage thousands and thousands of electronic devices for emergency services. We standardised apple products to make it easier. Then ios7 was released.
I had hundred of remote emergency crews unable to charge their phones. Or call in choppers or fire trucks. It was a disaster.
Luckily no one died and we had no major catastrophes while I was busy swapping. Out 70% of the apple products for gst' sand samsungs.
My question is this. Whenever I put a post up it gets removed.
I point out that, as a tech, I NEED to get their phones to work and charge. So I put in how to bypass the software block but all my posts get removed.
This seems to be a terrible move by apple. They didn't offer to replace the 2000 odd cables I would need and said I would simply need to replace them all with certified products....
But again when I mention anything about the problem on the forums as well the go to the point of blocking and deleting my posts!

That should rest htc or samsung.
Anyhow the way I had to get power to crews was to courier them cables at at a cost of thousands of dollars
It was a nightmare. Luckily no major catastrophes happened otherwise it would have cost lives and we probably would have sued apple.
Now that most of our field phones are htc or samsung it's ok but it was a close call.
The ways I had to get around it were
A - tell them to force the phone to turn off and as the logo was spinning plug it in.
B - get them new cables
C - for those who know how to use computers, install the 3rd party software to make it work
But I should have had to do any of those things.
Apple plain ignored my requests for help and I went into the store with 40 odd cables and she made me feel like I was doing something 'illegal' by not having a certified cable. It was horrible then she told me I would have to buy literally thousands of cables to replace all the ones that were blocks. It was the turning point for me. I was made to feel like a criminal but I'm the one helping save lives and they keep blocking and deleting my posts for it!
Not a word from apple still on how they can help or any mods other than to delete these posts so I'll just keep asking for help I guess. I don't know how they can do this.

  • Anyone else having issues with third party changers saying "this accessory not supported". I get it every time I plug my phone. It only started after the iOS 7 updates

Anyone else having issues with third party changers saying "this accessory not supported". I get it every time I plug my phone. It only started after the iOS 7 update?

That's because part of iOS7 had code in it to look for and recognize unsigned cables.
In other words, Apple knew that people used non-signed ones and didn't care....until last month when they decided to care. People with iOS6 and lower should experience no issues (unless Apple patches those iOS versions) but folks with iOS7 will need to deal with it.

That message is usually due to a bad cable.

  • Car stereo - 3GS "accessory not supported"

Anyone else got this? My 08 Subaru STI has a ipod connector that charged my 1st Gen Iphone and allowed me to play music from it on my car stereo. Now I got the 3GS and it says the same thing as before "accessory not supported" but this time it says it won't be able to charge.
Anybody with something similiar? Has this been a change for 3GS that non supported accessorys won't charge now?
    Thanks

This was changed with the last generation iPhone and iPods. They are using the usb pin on the dock connector to charge the phone now instead of the firewire pin as used on your old first gen iphone. There are companies that do make adapters though. Search for "ipod 5v adapter" in google.

If you know the IP address of the printer, then you can check if there is a working path between the Mac and printer. This can be done using Network Utility or a web browser.
If you open Network Utility and select the Ping tab, you can enter the IP address of the Kodak and then press the Ping button. If there is a working connection then you should get a reply to each packet sent.
With the web browser, many devices have a built-in web server so you can type the IP address of the printer into the browser and if there is a working connection then you will open the printers web page.
So, are you able to confirm you have a working connection between the Mac and printer?

  • Camera kit accessory not supported

    Hi,
I have an iPad 1 and a camera connection kit that works fine. It was working up to a week ago on a new ipad2. I updated my mac to 10.7.1 and synced my ipad2 for the first time in a while before going on a trip. During the trip I tried to use the camera kit but the ipad2 is now saying accessory not supported. The camera connector still works fine with my old ipad1
    Any help or ideas?
    Paul

    Thanks for the reply
    - Both are the same version 4.3.5
    - The reset has not worked
    - Both the SD card reader and the USB device when plugged in will cause the ipad2 to say "This accessory is not supported by this iPad"
    - They both work on the old iPad and I can download the images
Interestingly, I also had a problem sync'ing some jpegs to the ipad2 and had to delete the latest folder so the sync could complete. iTunes was just saying that the ipad could not display those files, yes they're just straight jpegs.
I've backed up the device, I'm going to try a full reset

  • Accessory not supported

ipod syas accessory not supported when i put it to my car adapter and headphones

Yes it will cause you grief. Go tot the Apple store and get them to replace the keyboard, as that is the same message I got just prior to 2 keyboard failures. The iPad puts too much stress on the keyboard connector tab, and it eventually becomes loose and non functional.

Hello I am using Ipad 4 and its charger is not working while I was using it few days before and it was working properly now it says that the cable does not support this Ipad Please Help me out.

    Try a reset:
    - Hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time. When the Apple logo appears release both buttons then try and charge again.
    If issue persists try:
    - Another known working cable
    - Check the charging port for any damage or debris
    - You could also use a dry soft bristle toothbrush and gently brush it on the port to clean it of any debris that could be in there
