Cable connection problem

Hello All!
The problem with connection phone and computer is very popular and I used search - but it isn't help me.
I have:
notebook Fujitsu-Ciemens Lifebook S6210,
desktop Fujitsu-Ciemens Scenic P320,
Windows XP professional with SP2 installed on both systems,
phone Nokia 6021 and Nokia 9500,
Nokia USB cable,
PC Suite version 6.80.22 installed.
The problem:
After connect cable to my desktop or notebook windows prompt me to install driver for new hardware, but I haven't the driver for cable. I tried many times another combinations installation and deinstallation, but no result. Important: the same problem on both computers with both telephones. I still nedd help!
Thanks in advance.

SOmething is wrong here.
1) YOu should highlight the unknown USB device with yellow mark in device manager, right click with mouse and select uninstall.
2) Then go to the control panel - add/remove programs and see what you have installed there, you should have:
Nokia PC Suite
Nokia PC Connectivity Solution
Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
Select first Nokia PC Suite - remove
Then select the "Solution" and remove that too
If all goes OK, the driver should disappear also, but if it does not, then select it and press "remove" for that too.
3) Now boot your PC and go to www.nokia.com/Pcsuite and download the PC Suite 6.8.22 to your desktop.
4) Doubleclick the downloaded file to start the installation. DO NOT CONNECT any phones to PC at this stage.
5) Connect the cable + phone when the get connected wizard in PC Suite asks you to do that
6) The windows notification about "found new hardware" should appear as a pop-up, but NO windows wizard should pop up, because the Nokia cable drivers are signed by Microsoft and thus the installation should be automatic.
YOu just have to wait until the windows installs all the driver classes to your 9500 (and there will be many, close to 7-8) so just wait. The different driver classes should appear in the windows pop-up.

  • 6500 Cable Connectivity Problem

    Hello,
I have just upgraded my phone to a Nokia 6500. I have installed the software on my pc. I have connected the cable to the phone and it has asked me to select the type of connection e.g. pc suite etc. When I select pc suite nothing connects to the pc. The phone display keeps asking for to select the pc suite etc. Again and again
I think that there is a cable connecting problem on the phone.
Has anyone else had this problem??
    Thanks
    Steve

    HI,
The sane problem exists for me too. Its not detecting the phone, no response.

  • Nokia 6700 USB cable connectivity problem -fixed-

Ok, got my 6700 today. Everything worked like a charm, until I tried to connect it to my PC using the supplied USB cable. I downloaded and installed the latest Nokia PC suite which supports this phone (7.1.30.9) and connected the phone. Vista was unable to install a driver, and the phone was listed in the device manager as 'unknown usb device'. The phone display reported 'no response from host' after plugging in the usb cable.
I searched online for a solution, and tried the following:
    - repaired the install of the Nokia connectivity cable driver: no success.
    - deinstalled the nokia pc suite, ran the pc suite cleaner, rebooted and reinstalled the pc suite: no success.
    - threw away the unknown usb device in the device manager and plugged the cable back in so that Vista would try to install the driver again: no success.
    - tried other USB slots (not behind HUB): no success.
At this point I was so frustrated that I decided to take out the supplied 1gb micro sd card and transfer some data to it using a card reader. When I looked in the root of the sd card, I noticed that there was an executable called pc-suite.exe there, among some other files. I decided to delete those files to see if they were causing the problems, I deleted the following files:
    - autorun.inf
    - launcher.exe
    - pc-suite.exe
    - qf
Replaced the micro sd card in the phone, plugged in the usb cable and voila: connection! Everything worked like a charm.
During my online search I noticed I wasn't the only one experiencing connectivity problems with the 6700. Maybe this fix will help other people as well, that's why I decided to post it here. ;-)
    Peter

Thanks Peter, nice job - same problem, your solution is working. Shame on Nokia - i have so many problems with E52, and now with 6700 - why ? Is it so difficult to make a reliable software ? So disappointed ... maybe Apple is the solution - but after 10 years with Nokia why change with Apple ?

  • Itouch cable connection problem

My Itouch4 no longer consistently will connect by cable to a music player or PC.  I often get a "this device does not support recharging and though I can jiggle it to get a recharge, the player doesn't recognize the device.  Also when I connect by cable to my PC I sometimes get an Itunes error message saying it can't connect with the device.  Can the cable connection be cleaned or repaired when this happens?

    Thanks for your help.
The cable is OK.  It works with another Itouch.
I looked at the connector with the magnifying glass and don't see any problem but I was able to extract quite a bit of lint from the recess.
Still no connection though with the music player.

  • HT4528 iPhone5 charging cable connection problem

    just received the iphone 5(verizon)
i have a problem with charging cable.
When i connect the cable to the phone, it keeps charging on and off ... on and off with 1~10 seconds interval.
is the cable defective or the phone? or is there a way to fix it?

I have similar problem, and Apple is not prepared for it, only listening to clients with appointments.  My iPhone5 bougth yesterday (Serial No. F2LJD9MDF38W) at Best Buy Dadeland Miami only starts charging when it is turned off (I guess).  I left the iPhone5 charging all night.   This morning the battery was charged 20%, and try for several hours to make it work.  No success.  I went at 11AM to the store, and with the phone dead, it started charging up to 6%. Ivan Ruiz, an Apple employee at Best Buy told me to go the Apple Store, since Best Buy did not have replacement cables (hopefully this is the problem).  I arrived 45 minutes ago at Apple Dadeland Mall, two employees of Apple Mike L and a blond lady (with freckles) told me I needed an appointment, so they can take care of my problem.  Mike L reacted and said that he can give me an appoitment at 1PM, and had to wait one hour more.  I said that I wanted the problem to be solved now.  Chris Gomez jumped into the issue and help me with a replacement cable, but reminding me I should buy Apple Care, since many thing could go wrong with phone.  I refused.  I am now charging my iPhone5 at Apple Store.  I hope this is the real problem.  I have been a satisfied BlackBerry user for almost a decade, and I tried to make the change to iPhone5 yesterday. Let see if I stay with it.

  • E65 cable connection problem

Hy! I have a small problem if i can call it that. Every time i try to connect my phone to the computer via data cable i get prompted to the Select Mode window on my phone (Pc Suite or Data Transfer), i choose PC Suite and then nothing. I also get a pop-up on my computer that says the device malfunctioned. I tried changing the cable with a new one but same thing happened. What can be the problem? thanx

I had the same problem so I tried bluetooth, it connected and then disconnected. After that my cable worked, don't ask me why.

  • MIDI cable connection problems

I just recently bought a MIDI cable and I plugged the out end into my keyboard and the usb into my iMac, and the computer recognizes the keyboard and MIDI connection but whenever i play sound won't come out my Garageband but it will on my keyboard, i would like to record on garageband using my keyboard, any ways i can fix this?

    PeterVanNguyen94 wrote:
My keyboard doesn't have a vocal volume knob.
I meant Local volume knob, not Vocal volume knob! By that I just mean the volume knob, which I'm pretty sure it does. Basically, just turn the volume down so you only hear the computer.
I just looked at the manual. It goes further and suggests turning off local control (see pages 29 - 31)
    http://support.casio.com/pdf/008/lk_45_01_e.pdf
Then, make sure to plug the MIDI cable into the out jack on the back of the keyboard and the USB jack on the computer. (sounds like you are already doing that).
Then, you said "the computer recognizes the keyboard and MIDI connection." What do you mean by that? If you select, say, a piano sound in GB, and play your Casio, do you see the meter light up at all on the left of the piano track? That would mean that at least you knew GB was seeing you play the keyboard, and you could target your troubleshooting at getting the sound out of the computer.

  • IPad and RCA cable connection problem

Have been using iPad with RCA cables to show pictures on tv. Last week, all of a sudden my iPad is saying that the accessory is not compatible with iPad. Any suggestions or feedback is welcome.

Have you tried restarting the iPad? (Hold down the power button until you get the red "slide to power off", do so, and then press the power button again to start the iPad back up.)

  • AE Connection Problem with Rogers Cable

I purchased a new MBP and AE unit a week ago, and had both of them up and running last week. I subscribe to Rogers' high-speed internet here in Toronto. I have two outlets in my apartment and was able to connect to the internet using both of them by connecting an ethernet cable directly to the MBP and by plugging the ethernet cable into the AE i.e., I was able to access the internet both wirelessly and "wired"-ly from both outlets. The cable to the modem is running through a splitter supplied by Rogers.
Last night, I received a Rogers HDTV PVR box (a pathetic Tivo simulator available here in Canada because Tivo is unavailable to us here because the cable companies here are monopolist luddites) and installed it. Rogers had to reset my cable box because I wasn't receiving the channels I was supposed to get.
Later, I moved the modem to the location by the tv and brought down the AE to be able to wire it through the sound system. I plugged in the AE, and it goes through the startup process, and all I see is the flashing amber LED. This happens at both cable hookup locations. I am, however, able to connect to the internet with my MBP if I plug the ethernet cable directly into the MBP using both hookups. I have plugged and unplugged the modem and the AE several times to no avail. The MBP is able to see the AE because I tried reconfiguring the AE and the MBP was able to signal the AE to restart itself. The problem is that I load up the browser and the status bar just hangs there, sort of half-filled.
I'm pretty sure the splitter is irrelevant given that I've always had the splitter before the modem. I'm able to connect to the internet with a direct ethernet cable connection, so I don't really think there's anything wrong with the connection being provided by Rogers.
    So my questions are...
Could the connection of the television cable box have somehow interfered with the modem's ability to talk to AE? Would the cable company's reset of the box interfered?
Since I have my TV and sound system set up now, there is potential for more radio interference, but it doesn't seem that extreme a setup...could this really be the culprit?
Am I supposed to get a solid green LED if the cable modem is functioning properly, even if my MBP isn't powered up? I can't remember if you can get the green light without firing up the MBP?
I've read some of the forums already, so it seems like this might have something to do with MAC addressing, etc. (something I'm not incredibly familiar with). As a first strike, I've unplugged absolutely everything since last night, and will retry hooking it up again today. Should this fail, is there anything else I should try?
Thanks in advance for the help!
    MacBookPro 15" 2.17GHz 1GB RAM

The issue may be that you just need to re-syncronize the cable modem with the AirPort Express (AX). You mentioned a lot of cable pulling, and I assumed you had power off of all the devices (modem, AX, and MBP) before doing so...correct?
I suggest that you perform a "factory default" reset on the AX to get it back to it's "out-of-the-box" condition. (ref: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=108044)
With all powered-off, reconnect the cable to the cable modem, and the Ethernet cable between the modem and the AX.
    - Power-on the cable modem; Wait at least 30 minutes. Are all of the modem status lights correct?
    - Power-on the AX; Wait at least 5 minutes. Is the AX's status light solid green?
    - Power-on your MBP
Can you connect to the Internet now?

I am having trouble with the initial connection of the apple tv. I have isolated the problem to the cable/connection. My new hdmi cable has a resolution up to 1080p...does the resolution matter?is this the right hdmi cable for the apple tv?

There are only two types of HDMI cables (standard and high speed - listen to all 1.2, 1.3 etc etc nonsense they will try to tell in the store) both types will work with the Apple TV.
The cable may be faulty though, have you got another to try, what exactly is happening.

  • Network cable unplugged problem with WRT54G

I just got a WRT54G wireless router recently, and experienced some problems with it. There are 5 notebooks in my network using wireless card and 2 PCs connect to the router through cables. The router is with ver 7.00.1 firmware.
The router is working fine, the problem is sometimes it will show "Network cable unplugged" on my PC, and the whole network will be interruptted, the network will be resumed in few seconds and all machines need to get IP from the DHCP server again. It's quite annoying to be disconnected from middle of the work. I don't know what is the cause, seems like the router is re-reading it's configuration. I have tried to refresh the fireware but with no luck. Someone else got this problem before? anyone has a solution for this? Thanks a lot!
    Regards,
    Leo

Try the following tips to resolve your problem:
Disable the Ethernet network adapter if you are not using it. This applies, for example, when running a WiFi home network with computers that have built-in Ethernet adapters. To disable the adapter, double-click the small Network Cable Unplugged error window and choose the Disable option.
Check both ends of the Ethernet cable connected to the adapter to ensure they are not loose.
Replace the Ethernet cable with a different one to verify the cable is not damaged.
Update the network adapter driver software from the manufacturer's Web site.
Change the Link Speed and Duplex settings (using Device Manager) to use "100 Mbps Full Duplex" or "10 Mbps Full Duplex" instead of Auto Detect.
    Replace the Ethernet network adapter
    Good Luck,

  • Unending connectivity problems -- and Desktop Help...

I'm wasting so much time on connectivity problems that it's positively wearying. Prior to the installation of BT Infinity here in April, I had a low quality broadband service because of the length of the line from the exchange: if I could get a download speed of 1.2Mbps and an upload of a quarter of that, I was doing well.
BT advised that thanks to fibre optic, my Internet should run much faster. So we had Infinity installed. I'm registered with Speedtest.net so am able to see my performance record.
The average download speed is now aroun d 6Mbps and the average upload, more than that at 7Mbps. How an upload speed can consistently be faster than a download escapes me.
But I'm not familiar with the ways of Internet connectivity and try as a I might, can't get my head around it.
This desktop computer runs Vista OS. Vista was **bleep** when it came out and is renowned for its botched handling of Internet connections. So I'm not blaming BT for the literally unending connectivity problems that are occurring now, with line drops, speeds slowing to a crawl, and no guarantee that any connection will last. But it would be good to actually use BT software to help fathom out what's going wrong here, and today's typical morning which looks like this:
    1) Boot up computer. Automatic connection to hub via Netgear USB wireless adapter. Hub is on ground floor of this 3-storey property but signal strength from hub  is excellent, as confirmed by inSSIDer monitoring, currently showing 54 with no other networks anywhere near that figure.
    2) Perhaps 5 minutes after connection established, it's then lost. 'Local Only' is displayed. This is, apparently, a known Vista problem. But Microsoft has issued a fix for it. I know this, because it took 100 hours of ploughin g the Net to find out that MS had finally admitted to one more Vista screw-up. I've used the Microsoft router "fix it" before and it didn't work ("failed to process") so uninstalled it and have DL'd it again now and run it. This time it says it has fixed everything.
    3) Computer is re-booted to make the fix effective. Computer connects to Internet. Speedtest.net check yet again confirms that upload speed is faster than download speed.
    4) Connection dies. So much for Microsoft Fix It.
    5) Windows diagnostics reports that it can re-set the IP profile (or something.) I click yes. The re-set goes through. Connectivity is restored. 10 minutes later, connectivity is lost. Just a red X in the tray. No connection of any kind, not even that daft 'Local Connection' only alert.
    6) Reboot. Yet again. BT Desktop Help was installed here and ran OK when we were using our Netgear DSG34 router. But since the change to the BT Hub, the BT program has never run at all. So-oo. . . It has been uninstalled. And then re-DL'd and re-installed. And though the installation  has been completed, clicking on 'launch' has failed to launch anything. But anyway. An hour ago, in one of the brief periods today when the Internet connection was holding up, I Revo-ed out the earlier install, DL'd BT desktop Help and re-installed it. . . and I'm still at the same stage as always, with a  Firefox browser page that's open and completely blank and has been for the past 30 minutes. The URL is:
    file:///C:/Program%20Files/BT%20Broadband%20Desktop%20Help/btbb/Start.html
Repeated page re-loading gets nowhere. Malwarebytes PRO is turned OFF to prevent any possibility of blocking and the antivirus is termporaily SUSPENDED. This PC runs on Windows standard firewall but even turning that OFF doesn't get the page to load. Copying the address into Internet Explorer in case there's a Firefox problem merely results in Firefox being opened and the same blank page running there.
    7) After all that. . . Connection lost yet again and this time, Windows cannot connect at all. It reports that the "wireless network security key is not correct". I happen to know that it is, because this is maybe the 20th time it has reported this in the past 10 days and every time I have to key in the "correct" key all over again. . . at which point Windows still says it isn't correct and cannot repair.
Turning off the computer completely, unplugging from the wall, holding in the power switch for a full minute to clear the circuits, traipsing up and dowen three flights of stairs to turn off the hub, then wait, then turn the power back onm again. . . Ah, wot fun times I'm having here with my particular versioin of Infinity (as in, an infinity of connectivcity problems.)
Summary: I seem to be being simultaneously hit with one issue after another.
I'm bewildered as to why ever since Infinity was installed here, my upload speed is generally faster than my download speed. I'm not happy with endless Internet connection failures though am thinking that Vista is playing a large part here with its "wrong security key" and unending 'Local Only / Limited Connection' failures. I do miss my Netgear router and the ability to access a fantastic help menu and re-boot directly from the desktop without having to keep going up and down three flights of sdtairs to do so (I haven't been able to find out how toe access the BT Hub remotely.)
Above all though: I'm  really tired of repeatedly trying to run freshly downloaded and installed BT Desktop Help software but getting no further than a blank page because the program has stalled.
If anyone has any advice / suggestions, other than to buy a carrier pigeon, that'd be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

Thanks again to John and gg30340. Here's an update:
    1) BT Desktop Help removed completely from this computer. The uninstaller itself mopped up everything, which surprised me. But anyway.
    2) Bt Home Hub manager set up and working. Had to input serial number and create new password. All of this sounds fairly easy and would be if one had the device near the desk. But the idiots who built this property shoved the BT master socket inside the garage next to the door. Our two home computers are on the third floor. To ensure the wireless signal strength is OK, the Hub and Infinity module/device/whatever it's called are on a high shelf. It's a major job to even reach the darn things, never mind read the labels seeing as how the BT Infinity engineer was good enough to tidy up the cabling and make a very tight connection to the wall socket.
    3) I had hoped to be able to back up the Hub's settings, seeing as the software provides for Advanced Settings / System / Backup. But not on mine (Hub 3.0). All that System allows is choosing which internet clock to define the accurate time. Everything else in System is just a pattern of short lines as if trying to indicate that there's some text there but it's invisible. This is now my second encounter with BT software which, for whatever reason, isn't functioning as it should on this PC.
    4) Hub reset to factory fresh, according to BT guide.
    5) Reset appears to have achieved nothing apart from requiring the password to be popped in again. After reset, it wasn't even possible to connect to the hub manager. Internet connectivity was eventually established for all of 30 seconds and then, gone.
    6) Computer was shut down and then booted anew. Internet connectivity is still. . . dreadful. One minute everything's fine and then, literally,. the next minute a webpage won't load. Even opening the Hub Manager has taken three attempts, i.e., disconnecting from the Internet, re-connecting, failing, and trying twice more until success. Yet all the time these failures are occurring, the tray icon is showing a steady, unwavering green icon for Local and Internet access -- despite the fact, there manifestly isn't any.
    7) Speedtest. net tests are actually showing upload and download 'trajectories' going slower and slower and finally halting at some point on the arc, then after a period of up to 30 seconds, suddenly becoming animated again. Speed test results with broadband speed checker UK and Think Broadband's checker are so at variance with one another, and with Speedtest, net, that it seems all three are using different technologies in pursuit of the same thing. Either way, upload speeds continue to be much, much faster than download speeds, a state of affairs I certainly have never encountered before.
    8) Speedtest net tests taken in the past 10 minutes, with one test following on from its predecessor, begin at 8.24 down/8.88 up, followed by 5.24 down / 6.40 up, followed by a mind-numbingly lonnnnng 0.62 down / 8.70 up -- in other words, a continuous yo-yoin g of Internet connectivity to the pooint that it actually might as well not even be here (I've had to make five attempts just to get on to this forum. . .)
    9) BT Speedtest will necessitate disconnection of everything downstairs and all boxes being lugged up here. This is actually going to require uncoililng tied-off cabling and hanging off a stepladder to do so -- though I surely can't be the only person in Britain who doesn't have a nice, handy BT master socket in their study or lounge. That said though: until we switched to Infinity, we *never* experienced these kinds of horrendous connectivity problems and never had need to unplug the Netgear router downstairs and bring it upstairs to connect directly to tjhe desktop PC so BT's own test could be run.
I'll just have to get to work dismantling stuff tomorrow. However, I have to say that after a factory re-set which has changed nothing at all, I'm beginning to think there's a problem with the BT line itself (hence why I'm happy to follow the advice here, though less than happy at the prospect of the messing about involved.)
Thanks, you two, for your patient help, and also for clarifying the situation re the three signal paths being shown on inSSIDer. At least I know that's usual now! And now, hopefully, when I press 'Post', I won't be faced with an endlessly spinning Firefox circle culminating in  what may well be, or seem to be, the 57,938th time today of seeing "Page Not Found". . .

"No Cable Connected!" message when trying to connect new Benq GL2750 LED to my new Mac Pro with Mini Display to HDMI adaptor. Anyone know how to solve the problem??

  • Ipod connection problems

After a period of about a year of the ipod working properly, I started to have connection problems.
My ipod isn't recognized as connected by windows when I connect it- and I often get "a device connected to a usb port has malfunctioned and is not recognized by windows", and it doesn't charge when I connect to the power adapter that I bought from apple.
If I restart the computer with the ipod plugged into USB port, the ipod briefly flashes the "Do not disconnect" screen before it goes back to the menu screen.
If I connect my ipod to the adapater, it's as if the ipod doesn't even recognize that it's plugged in to anything - there's literally no response from the ipod.
I'd been having intermittant problems getting my ipod to connect and charge when connected through my computer's usb ports - having to unplug the ipod and plug it back in, or restart the computer before it would charge and be recognized by itunes.
So, guys, do you think this is a faulty usb cable or could my ipod's dock be messed up? The usb ports on my computer are 1.1, but they work fine for runnning my webcam and other accessories.

Given what you've posted, the first thing I would check is the cable.
