Usb cable for L1950 monitor

I need a USB cable for my L1950 monitor so that I may connect it to my new laptop. What cable do I need?

While I see that the monitor does have a USB port, that port does not connect for monitor use. Now if that part of the monitor is what you want to connect, not to display but as a USB hub, then a regular USB cable will work for that. What you need to use the monitor as a monitor on a laptop, then you need either a VGA cable or a DVI cable, depending on the available ports on the laptop.
After looking at that model's features, it is not clear that a monitor can be connected, unless you have a HDMI port or use a USB to monitor adapter.

can some one help me on how to sent rs232 command to samsung monitor 460MX-3, i just want to sent command from the control power on and power off to the monitor.
i have:
1. eanble the dmp RS232 control supported,non dmtech.. option. from the dmm
2. connect a cross serial cable to the sumsung monitor from the dmp.
i tried to turn the monitor off using this code rs232.tx_hex=0x11x0 but it doest work.
help.

I believe you must us a null modem cable to connect the DMP to any display. Can you verfiy?
The Cisco branded TVs are the DX model by Samsung so the same code to turn off the monitor for the Cisco TVs should work for the Samsung.
We have both Cisco and Samsung TVs in our shop and the I have used the Cisco power off command for both.

I'm currently using one external monitor on my MacBook Pro via a mini display to VGA cable from apple.
I would like to hook up another (second external monitor) one using also VGA.
After doing some research I've learned that I should use some sort of adaptor cable for this. I'm just wondering if there is any way of getting one of there for a decent price in europe? (decent is sub €100).

How to set up a samsung 2433LW monitor as a second monitor?

I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE running on Windows 7 64bit. I have one monitor attached, a HP 2311x connected using one of the two available DVI ports. When I connect a second monitor, a Samsung 2433LW using the second DVI port, the second monitor is not recognised and has a black no input screen and the original HP monitor loses all shortcut icons and only the desktop background is visible.
Please advise how I can get my second monitor to work.

Does the Samsung 2433LW monitor work by itself on the computer???
It sounds like the Samsung is taking over as the primary display and the HP is becoming the secondary display. Try swapping the DVI cables in the back of the computer and see if that helps. Here is a photo of the back of the original display card in your HP Pavilion Elite HPE-540me Desktop Computer;

Connecting MacBook to Samsung TV / Monitor

I have a MacBook Pro version 10.6.5 and a Samsung TV / Monitor. I want to connect my Macbook to the Samsung TV so I can watch shows from my computer on my TV / Monitor.
I have a Mini Display Port to VGA adapter. I also have a cable that connects the VGA port to the PC input on my TV / Monitor. When I connect the two and put my TV settings on "PC", My desktop from my computer appears on the TV. But I can't get any other activity beyond this. Is there anything I can do or is this a compatibility issue? Please help.

Will A 27 Inch Samsung LED Monitor work on my Macbook pro?

I have a Mid 2009 Macbook Pro and I am not sure what ports it has. I see 2 ports apart from the USB (2 ports), Power and LAN. I am planning to buy a 27 inch Samsung LED monitor for the laptop. Here are the Macbook specs:

I have read that even if I buy a monitor with speakers, I won't be able to get sound from them. What are my options if I buy a monitor with or without speakers? Will I need to connect to speakers using USB? The monitor has an HDMI port... in that case what cable will I need to connect the monitor to my MBP?

Well you are in luck (I think) because the 2009 models actually output sound via HDMI with minidisplay port.**

Samsung 27" monitor doesn't recognize my MacBook Pro

Hi All....I bought a Samsung 27" monitor ( S27B350H ) last night to use with my MacBook Pro laptop. I connected a HDMI cable from the monitor to the HDMI/DVI adapter then connected it to my MacBook Pro. Monitor doesn't recognize my MacBook. Why?
The CD that came with the Samsung can only be opened on a Windows machine. I don't know/do Windows.
There is a floating box on the monitor screen that switches between the word Analog and the word HDMI.
Do I need to do something in the System Preferences > Display section to get the Mac and Monitor to recognize each other?

The Mac does not use Drivers for specific displays, so nothing on that CD will be useful anyway.
Instead, the Mac uses a highly parameterized display driver for each graphics card. When the display identifies itself by name and capabilities, Mac software automatically sets the parameters in the Driver for optimum performance with the stated display capabilities.
The problem comes when a display does not properly identify itself. No picture.
About this Mac > ( More Info ) Graphics & Displays ...
... will show you whether the display has reported it NAME and CAPABILITIES.

I use the DVI to HDMI cable for the video signal. If your Monitor has HDMI connection, then that is what I would use.

Samsung SMS27A850 monitor

As has been noted in several discussions on the net, Mavericks does not play nice with all third-party monitors and when hooking up one of these monitors, all the resolutions are not displayed (especially the higher resolutions such as 2560x1440).
Specifically, this happened when I recently purchased a Samsung SMS27A850 monitor (a 27" monitor). I hooked it up to my MBP Retina 13" via the Mini-DisplayPort-DVI adapter and the most I could get was 1080p resolution. I went on several of the boards and read up on what to do; from zapping the PRAM (several times) to running a ruby script to over-ride the manufacturers monitor EDID defaults (which *does* seem to work for Dell monitors). Long story short, none of this worked for me and my forlorn monitor.
Here's what I had to do to finally get it working:
1) Purchase the Apple Mini DisplayPort Dual-Link DVI Adapter ($99 US, $109 CDN... so factor that in to your pricing of the monitor).
2) Connect the monitor to your Mac.
3) Reboot and zap the PRAM (hold down the Command-Option-P-R keys and wait for two reboots, then release the keys after the second chime).
4) Once rebooted, bring up System Preferences -> Displays.
5) Select the desired resolution for your new display which *should* have all of them displayed.
5a) **If** the higher resolution is not displayed (eg, 2560x1440) then hold down the Option key and click on the "Scaled" setting... it should then appear.
That's it!

A good option for this monitor is to get a mini displayport to displayport cable. These are cheap and can handle the resolution.

Retina to Samsung Syncmaster monitor: NO DISPLAY

I have recently bought a Macbook 15" retina. I already had the Samsung monitor display. (syncmaster 2333HD).
But when I'm connecting them with the thunderbolt to HDMI converter, I get no display on my Samsung display, nothing.
The only thing I note, is that my macbooc's screen gives a blue flash when I pull out the cable (thunderbolt).

I'm having the same problem.
Here's what's happening on my end:
Macbook Pro Retina 15" is suppose to 'Plug & Play' easily to Samsung 23" Monitor (syncmaster 2333) using thunderbolt to DVI cable.
This monitor only offers a DVI and VGA ports.
Also, tried using the rMBP's HDMI cable to HDMI-DVI adapter in the Samsung monitor. (same symptoms as with other cable)
rMBP's screen shows blue for a moment when the cable is removed or connected from computer port then goes back to normal screen.
Samsung Moniter's blue power light on the bottom edge of the screen blinks at 1 sec intervals (so power isn't an issue)
After pressing the "Menu" button on the side of the monitor a "test good" message displays in the top left corner for a moment then goes blank. (actual monitor menu does not show)
After pressing the 4th button from the top (looks like a back arrow or return arrow icon) it seems to switch from digital to analog (I think) and a floating message displays "Check Signal Cable" with a red, green, and blue box and "Analog" in the floating box. During this the monitor's blue power light on the edge of the screen is a steady solid blue not blinking anymore.
System Preferences Display doesn't show any indication of sensing another monitor is connected.
I have tried to connect to a Samsung 46" HDTV via HDMI to HDMI port and that works wonderfully yet isn't practical for my desk set up. Just glad to know that something actually worked and I'm not cursed.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Would really like to use this 2nd monitor. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I hope I gave enough details.

Samsung LED Monitor TA950 not working with Macbook pro

I bought a Samsung TA950 Full HD LED 3D 27 inch monitor and trying to connect my MBP (early-mid 2009, does not support, MiniPort Audio). Connecting using MDP-DVI to HDMI to connect and MBP detects the monitor, I can see and change Display preferences. The monitor only flashes "no signal" when I disconnect the cables so something is happening...every so often my macbook pro display "flashes" momentarily as if it is recognizing a connection but a)nothing shows up in the display prefs after clicking "detect display" and b) nothing shows up on the external monitor. The monitor did worked and showed the MBP screen when I disconnect the cable, set the MBP display resolution to 1152 by 720, than connect the Miniport cable, the monitors flickers and shows the screen, and after a minute or 2, it goes black and goes in the loop of flickering and trying to detect the monitor

Hi, I got the same monitor the other day and there should be no problem getting it to work.
Use the DP to mini-DP cable supplied with the monitor.
Make sure this cable is plugged into the correct input DP port in the back of the monitor (not the DP port for daisychaining).
Make sure the DP input is selected in the inputs menu on screen.
Plug mini-DP end of the cable into Mac
Should work ...
