Cable used to connect an iBook G4 to a HDTV
Hi,
I recently got a Philips 23" widescreen HDTV, and I was wondering what cable I would have to buy to connect my iBook G4 to my HDTV. What I would like to do is connect my iBook G4 to my HDTV to watch my tv shows that I have in iTunes. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Ethernet cable used to connect BT Infinity router ...
Any help appreciated on the following.
I'm moving the BT Infinity router (HH3) 10 metres from the Openreach modem and I require a longer Ethernet cable
Do I require a crossover cable?
Should I choose CAT5e or Cat 6
And is a shielded cable recommended?
Thanks,
IainEither a Cat5e or Cat6 would do. Cat6 is the newer standard and can carry faster connections. You require a straight through or patch cable not a crossover. The shielding on normal cables is usually sufficient unless you are laying the cable along side electrical cable or appliances.

I'd like to transfer files from the iBook G4 to my new MacBook Pro. However, I'm not a "pro" at using a computer and I'm not even sure what cable to use to connect the two laptops. I welcome your suggestions!
The Y is FireWire and the MBP has a FW800 port. On the iBook you should find a FW400 port shaped like an arrow (see below, left pic). So for speediest transfer, you need a Firewire 400 to Firewire800 cable that will allow you to plug both Macs together (right pic).
Once you have gotten that, place the IBook in Target Disk Mode (see here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1661 ) and connect both with the cable. The iBook's hard disk drive will appear on the MacBook's desktop. You can either drag stuff across or use the Migration Assistant found in Utilities to ensure applications get transferred correctly. -
WHEN I USED TO CONNECT INTERNET FROM MY IPHONE 4S PERSONAL HOTSPOT VIA USB, AN ICON IN THE NETWORK PREFERENCE NAMED "IPHONE" APPEARS.... BUT NOW THIS IS NOT HAPPENING AND I AM NOT ABLE TO CONNECT PERSONAL HOTSPOT VIA USB CABLE. PLEASE HELP ME OUT???
Please don't shout! Using all uppercase means shouting on the internet. If your keyboard is stuck please say so, otherwise people will think you are being obnoxious.
Now the first question is, when you are saying connecting to personal hotspot, have you always been using the iPhone to connect to the internet? Are you someplace where the only place to connect is available via tethering to the iPhone's celluar network? Or do you have other options? -

what cable do i need to use to connect my grandson's old style external isight webcam to his 2014 Mac mini in order for him to be able to FaceTime me
You need either a FireWire 800 to FW 400 cable or a FR 800 (male)/FW(female) adopter.
However. it the Mini (note that you still have the late 2012 Mini, Apple has not updated the Mini since then) has Mavericks it may not work satisfactorily. I tried it on my 2102 and I get abount 1 frame every 20 seconds. Another uses posted same problem.
However, it it work fine on my late 2009 Mini with Mavericks -

Cannot Connect Pavilion dv6 2020sa laptop to HDTV using HDMI cable
Hi
I have tried to connect my laptop to HDTV using HDMI cable but it just comes up with a 'No Signal' message on TV, any ideas? I have done a search on internet with no joy.
Operating system is Windows 7
TV is 32" LG LCD HDTVI have been having the same issues trying to connect my Laptop to my TV to use as a DVD player. A normal HDTV cable would not work. I went to Best buy, and found a HDMI cable that said "Laptop to HDMI cable" It was the only HDMI cable out of all of the HDMI that said "Laptop to HDMI". It was also twice the cost, $50.00 for a 10 foot cable. It seems a little to high in price so I am looking for a cheaper one on the web. If I find one, I will post to let you know.

Best cable to use to connect an Airport Express to a Sony DE 1075?
Hi, Does anyone have suggestions on the best kind of cable (RCA etc) to use to connect an Airport Express to a Sony DE 1075 receiver (the receiver was purchased about 10 years ago)...I have the receiver hooked up to a Bose Acoutimass 15 sound system. Thanks,
If you plan to use the AUX input on the Sony receiver, then you will need a cable that consists of a 3.5 mm Stereo Mini plug on one end and 2 RCA plugs on the other.
The RCA plugs are almost always color coded red and white to designate the left (white) and right (red) channel.
Any electronics superstore will have what you need, as will the Radio Shack.
If you are still not sure what you need, take a picture of the back panel of the Sony receiver using your camera phone and take the AirPort Express with you to the store. -
What cable should be used to connect a macbook pro, 13 inch, early 2011 model to an external projector so the project displays the image on the computer screen?
You will need a cable or adapter with a minidisplay connection for the MBP. That will be inserted in the Thunderbolt port. The other end is dependent upon the connections of the projector which you have not listed.

What type of Fire Wire cable to use to connect MacBook Pro 2009 to tape-based Sony TRV720 camcorder
USB is the slowest. Firewire is faster. eSata is the fastest (and will be superceded by Thunderbolt). The old Fire was 4 pin (Firewire 400 and is essentially obsolete), new is 9 pin, Firewire 800. All of the will transmit data, simply a different speeds.
For eSata connectivity, you MBP must have an express card slot (and the appropriate eSata connection card) and you external enclosure must have an eSata input. eSata cables will only transmit data, therefor it will require power by Firewire or USB cables.
Ciao.
