you are probably seeing the extended display.. to see ur main display go to pefrences then display steeings and turn mirroring on.

My 30 pin dice silverline ipod kit in my car worked fine with my old iphone. it charged and played audio. I bought both 30 pin to lighting (cable and adapter) from Apple store but it does not charge. It only play audio. I have verified that both adapter and cable are working fine. Is there anything to fix this?

Apple sells a 30 pin to lightning pin adapter - you can find it on the Apple on;line store - or Amazon sell 3rd party one - but if it didnt works with your 4S which also has a 30 pin input - there may be something else wrong

The sound was coming out of the laptop and not out of the tv though
Connect an audio cable from your Mac's audio out socket to the TV's audio in socket. Adapter cables often need audio to be connected separately. I had a similar problem connecting the mini display port to DVI cable, then DVI to HDMI adapter from there.

My 4 month old iPhone 5s stopped charging, original cable with adapter works fine on other iphones.
I have tried restarting iPhone while its connected to my macbook pro and when it restarts, I see it starts charging again.
After this, when I plug phone to wall outlet, it works perfectly and charges but next day again it stops charging.

Will Apple cover this under warranty if the port is damaged due to unknown reasons as its under 1 yr warranty?
Also, I am out of USA now and would like to know if I can send it through a friend and get it checked out by Apple tech...
Never has any iPhones of all generations that I owned gave such problem.

Can you tell me what cable or adapter I need for a AUX to AUX/CHARGER?
Have a stereo with an AUX output and I need to hook up to my iphone 6 but I also want to charge it while using the AUX connection.

Apple do not offer anything like that
and I suspect you mean AUX in on the stereo to allow music from the iPhone to play through the Stereo
You would need a dock to sit the iPhone 6 in to allow charging and where the dock has an AUX out which you then connect to the Aux in on the Stereo
Suggest Amazon as a start point for that

Mini display port hdmi cable and adapter not showing display on LG TV

Connected my macbook air up to my LG TV 32 inch, via mini displayport - adapter to HDMI and then HDMI cable to HDMI port on the TV.
the TV is detected on detect displays on the macbook - but the TV says no connection.
Does anyone have any idea why this isn't working?
I've tried both HDMI 1 and 2 ports on the TV and neither can detect a connection, although when first connecting it it did say "connecting" for about 5 seconds before cutting out.

Seems like many people are experiencing problems with connecting to a tv via mdp-hdmi adapter. I have the same problem connecting my newly bought macbook air to my 4 year old samsung 32 inch. Both screens goes blue and blinks. My mac recognise my tv though, it says samsung when I go to the screenmenu to change resolution.
I have tried two different adapters, the moshi adapter which Apple recommends and another one. Im experiencing the same problem with both.
I´ve kinda concluded that it has to be a software problem since my mac has started to act strangely after I tried making it work for 20 minutes.

HT4241 How do I get an Epson EX5210 to display using the HDMI mini display port adapter so I can see 1080p downloaded movie from iTunes? It won't recognize the display via hdmi cable and adapter!

Please help! I've tried everything to get this dang thing to display a downloaded movie from itunes on my epson EX5210 lcd projector via a HDMI cable plugged into a minidisplay port adapter. I am no expert and have no idea what to do!

USB seems to work as well. Tried that?
By the way, this dang thing has "only" 768 physical pixels vertically, so "1080p" won't be visible anyway, and scaling will take place. Hope you won't be diappointed. All specs including resolutions here.

Female to female mini-displayport cable or adapter anyone?

All that fuss about mini displayport to mini dvi adapter and even to micro dvi for the MBAs - let's face it, its not gonna happen people. Jobs has made it pretty clear about that, so lets stop hoping.
Instead lets look forward, and now since mini displayport has picked up, there is bound to be connectors and cables by partner developers. A female to female mini-displayport cable/adapter/connector is the only possible solution I could think of to connect a non aluminum MB to the new LCD.

Hence the new technology is not backward compatible and any solution for backward compatibility cant be resolved with mere external adapters or converters, perhaps it would be possible with the Express Card Slot, so for MBP owners you may be in luck, nevertheless it would prove to be quite complex and may be expensive - I also doubt any developer would take the initiative.
I guess its time to accept our fate, buy a non Apple display or if you must buy an Apple display, then I believe you are left with no choice but to get the older models, unless you upgrade of course.

I have an old iMac with the clear globe speakers. The connection on these speakers does not fit todays, computers, iPods or iPhone. Does anyone know of an adapter so that I could use these speakers today?

You can certeinly look for one cheaper. If you can find one for under US$50, it at least sounds like a good finanacial investment!

IPhone 5, lightning adapter, Life Fitness treadmills

Hi, has anyone tried the iPhone 5 with the lightning adapter in the life fitness treadmills that have iPod 30pin connectors. I tried myself and it didn't work, it recognizes the iPhone which charges and says accessory connected in the iPhone screen but apparently an image with controls of my music library are supposed to appear in the treadmill. Is this an "iPod out" functionality or is it because video is not supported or there is something I am missing (first time I try to connect iPhone/iPod to these machines).
I was wondering if somebody else has tried.

ps: I have sent an email o Life Fitness with this issue as they said before that audio should work and I am awaiting their answer.

I just bought an Ipod nano 7th generation and the lightning to 30 pin adapter and can get the music player to work just fine on Life Fitness equipment at my gym. What I can not get the equpment to do though is recognize it as having video playback capabilities. My Iphone 4s works great to play video on the equpment, but not the new Ipod with an adapter.

VGA Cable (Not Adapter)

My iBook is used as a desktop machine, connected to an external 17" panel via the VGA adapter which Apple supply.
The Apple VGA Adapter is only a couple of inches long and so you end up with an ugly VGA plug hanging down from the iBook. Does anyone know of a VGA cable (rather than adapter) is available. To connect the iBook to a VGA monitor directly i.e. With an iBook VGA plug on one end, and a normal VGA connector on the other ?

With that all you need it an HDMI cable. If you mean that you tried a lightning-to-30-pin adapter with existing cables you had, the specs for that adapter clearly state that it doesn't work with video.

I have an Old camera an Canon AE1 from the 70's. Any adapter to fit the Old lens to the new Cameras

Can anyone give me any advice on if I can purchase an adapter to make my Old lens fit on the newer modle cameras. I have 3 old lens that worked with the Old AE-1 A 55mm, A 35-70mm, and a 100-200mm. Any Thoughts would surely be appreciated.

Don't waste your money on an adapter even though they do exist. Much better to buy modern lenses which incorporate Auto Focus. The new cameras DON'T have a focus aid such as a split screen or whatever your film body had.

just got a new ipad2, the charger cable ( the same cable as ipad1 ) doesnt seem to fit ? i have loads of apple products and the charger is the same on them all ,so whats different? the charge port under the home button looks slightly differant?

I got the same issue with my iPad 2, when I got it on opening day. For some reason, it just didn't accommodate any of my other cords (ipod touch, ipod nano, etc.). Now, though, every one of my cables except for the ipod nano one can fit in it. I think that the iPad needs time to "stretch out" its parts to fit the other cables.
