Cache Battery Modules
I've had 2 Cache Battery Modules installed in my Xserve RAID since July 2005, one has started whining and shows a red light, the details are:
Status: Failure
Cycle: DIscharge conditioning cycle
Charge level: 80%
Can anyone tell me what his means? will it charge up and then work okay? shall I take any action or leave it alone?
Suggestions greatly appreciated!
Thankyou.

You may want to check your firmware level. At one point in time the firmware version has effect on the function of the cache battery. It's not good to leave it alone.

Which battery module serves which controller?
I have an original XServe RAID with only the drives served by the lower controller populated. It has been in service since about 2003, if memory serves. I have a few questions:
1) How can I tell if the cache batteries are any good? The RAID admin software seems to perpetually have them in a discharge conditioning cycle of 87-90%
2) Which battery module serves which controller (I only want to replace one if I have to)
TIA,
WillThe battery modules are redundant. They both serve both controllers, and one of the batteries can back up the caches for the specified 72 hours.
That said, if they're 5 years old, they're probably getting old. I doubt they'd each work for 72 hours. They're only $300 for the pair; it's probably worth replacing both if you value your data
Also note that drives that are 5 years old are getting long in the tooth as well. Have you had any failures yet? Most data center operators would replace the drives at the 4 year mark, and certainly by 5. A MTBF of 500,000 to 1 million hours doesn't really mean you should run them that long -
New battery module for Muvo TX
Hi,
My battery module for my Muvo TX FM is broken. Where can I get a new one? Creative used to sell them in all colors, but I can't find them anymore.
I am currently in the US, but an alternati've store in Europe could work as well.
best regards,
elmultiYou can buy one directly from Creative -- this website also has a shopping area!

E17 battery module problem?
I'm just wondering if anyone else has a problem with the battery module in e17 (e-cvs). It used to work correctly before the upgrade but I just noticed that it now shows 100% on the battery all the time. My conky app still shows the proper battery level (ie. discharging 35%) so I'm assuming it has something to do with the e17 battery module. I'm running E17 on a T21 IBM Thinkpad by the way.
Edit: It's definitely the e-cvs upgrade that's the culprit. I went back to e-cvs-2008220-1.pkg.tar.gz and now the battery level is correct again.

The battery time remaining does not work indeed, though the battery percentage remaining does work on my end (which was also broken before for me). Can you confirm that or does it not work at all for you ? -
Swap the battery module with older M
2 years ago, I bought a MUVO 256Mb. Recently, the clip that holds the battery cover on the battery module broke. I'm using a rubber band to hold the cover on. Can I buy one of the replacement battery modules for the Gb models to use on my 256Mb one? Put another way, are the battery modules uni'versal for the 256Mb, 52Mb and Gb models?
Thanks in advance,
flynnThe different memory sizes aren't the question. It's the different models of MuVo that are more important. If you can get a battery module for your model of MuVo then it should be tha same no matter what size the memory of the player is.
Some of the modules are a common size - you would need to check specifically for your model.

How important are the Cache Backup Battery Modules
I have finally gotten my raid in full speed by selecting write cache and drive cache options in the raid admin. It looks like cache backup batteries are recommended for those options, but I don't have any. How critical is it to have those batteries ? I work with broadcast video and 12 client setup.
If you aren't using a UPS, they are very important. If you suddenly lose power with the cache enabled, there will be data that was written to cache but not to disk. That data will be lost -- this could cause data loss and/or corruption of the volume.
If you have a UPS (actually, two separate UPSes with one side of the RAID connected to each), then the battery back-up modules are less important. What they do is maintain power to the cache for at least 72 hours in the event of a power failure. So long as you get power back to the RAID within this window, data will be safely pushed from the cache down to the disks on the RAID.
For $300, I think it's an easy choice, personally. -
845e ht ready and pc 2100 200/266 mhz 256 mb memmory module(s)
Hi all i am experiencing this problem on all my mainboards as described in the title, here it is:
Bios recognizes only 128 Mb of Ram no matter if they are 1 or 2 (same kind of modules), i tried BIOS update too.
The weird thing it's that it's happening on all my mainboards of this kind but when i'm trying the same memory modules on MSI VIA chipset based mainboards it all works fine.
Thank you in advance for your repliesmotherboard is MS-65663 ver 2
Here is the report generated by AIDA, i cutted off the stuff about the OS because it is too long if you need it i will post it in the reply if asked:

JAVA Caching in Web Application
Hi friends!!
I am currently working on a web application using Servlets & Jsp. I hav to develop CACHE MANAGEMENT module for it!!!
For this development restriction is i cannot use any External cache package(like JCS, Swarm Cache).
So i hav to use the Cache class which comes with Java Software.(developed by sun)
But i hav not found any such class.
pLz tell me if anybody knows the Java class used in Object Caching!!!However, when the link is clicked second time then the request is not received by our servlet Impossible mate.. can you show your code. You sure there are no javascript errors ?
Why dont you just remove your object from the session after displaying the data from it and see if your page "automatically" hits the servlet when the link is clicked.
cheers..

Importing table from Intersystems Cache DB failing
I am running Oracle Database 11g 11.1.0.6.0 on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Server 5.2 Service Pack 2 (32-bit), owb is being run on this machine also.
In OWB Design centre i add a location to an Intersystems Cache DB, testing the connection is successful.
I then right click on the location and select import, then next, next until i get to the object selection screen. I can see the tables and views which are present on the Cache DB in the left pane.
Here i select a table and click > button to add it and i get the following error:

The wizard then closes and there is no sign of the table under the location as it has obviously not worked.
Any input as to the reason for the first error?
The first error could be causing the other two. If this is not the case for the "Table 'SQLUSER.ALL_COL_COMMENTS' not found" error, there is indeed no table or view with that name in my Cache DB, is there some reason why owb is looking for it?

As I remember there was a problem (in OWB10gR2, I don't tested this feature in OWB11g) with non-Oracle location created in hots:port:sid form.
Try to create new location (under ODBC node in location tree) with type SQLNet and specify for Net Service Name string
(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=SDMFLAGSHIP.SDM.com)(PORT = 1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=AlexGeneratedDataSite1))(HS = OK))I just tried this and the connection tests ok, and the tables are showing up when i try to import, as was the case previously,
i still get the same error as i did when using hots:port:sid :

I just installed the Java JDK 7u51 as well as the JRE 7u51. Following that I extracted SQL Developer to a fresh directory. When I open SQL Developer I get the following error message:

Ti Powerbook Internal Battery Question
Folks,
I have a Ti Powerbook (400Mhz) and it has been stored for some time. When I tried to turn it on it would not start up. I have tried to recharge the internal battery, recharge the primary battery (which did not charge at ALL), reset the PMU and zap the PRAM. None of these things have worked and the computer still won't start. i am assuming from these things that the internal battery is dead. Can someone please tell me: 1.) where exactly the internal battery is located (I believe it is under the optical drive) ? 2.) How hard of an install a new battery would be (I'm pretty handy with a screwdriver) ? 3.) Can I buy a replacement battery at Radio Shack or the like? I would very much like to get this computer up and running for my fiance who is considering a switch from a......GULP.....Dell laptop. Thanks in advance for the help.
Powerbook Mac OS X (10.3.9) NoneHi, epotkano, and welcome to Apple Discussions. When you tried to recharge the internal backup battery, did you do so without the main battery in place? If not, do. The backup battery is often resilient enough to come back to life and take a charge even when both batteries have been drained so long that the main battery defies resurrection, but it may only happen if the dead main battery is removed. If after 24 hours of attempted charging with the main battery removed, the Tibook still won't start, disconnect the backup battery's wire leads and try again. If the PB then starts up, the backup battery should be replaced. If it doesn't, the backup battery is not the problem — or not the only problem.
The backup battery module resides directly under the right wrist rest, above the slot-loading optical drive. You must remove the keyboard, the lower case (bottom panel) and the DVD drive to get to it. It isn't hard. The module (here's a picture) is a unit, though it contains several flat, disklike cells; if it has to be replaced, you replace the whole thing including its wire leads, not just the cells. It's only sold by specialty Mac parts dealers, and I notice that it's currently out of stock at iFixit. One or more of the following other vendors may be able to help you sooner, if you need to order one:

Creative MuVo v100 battery cover
Hello,
I own a Creative MuVo v00 2GB mp3 player and it has worked fine for me for a few years. However some time ago I managed to drop the battery case cover and subsequently stepped on it. And naturally it broke a little bit. I had an earlier creative mp3 player (don't remember the name) which was a similar system of player module + battery module but the cover from that does not fit into this one. I have a few questions:
- Is it possible to get a new battery module from somewhere? I li've in Europe but any online stores around?
- Which creative player models have battery modules that are compabtible with MuVo v00 ?
(I could by a second hand player and regardless of the state of the player module, I could take the battery module for my machine)
Right now the player works fine but I dislike taping and retaping the battery cover back every time my batteries run out.
Best regards,
~skydehi i lost my creative MuVo v 00 battery case cover so that i just tie it by rope which is not safe. the player works but it doesnt look proper i got hard time when i use it while i'm working out it disconnect easly so bad. is there any way i can get the battery case cover lots of thanks ..

Creaky MuVo battery pack? Also, warmness after uploading files (renamed thre
Sorry to keep making threads about little things, but I reckon it's worth checking. My MuVo feels quite a bit hotter after I upload files to it (completely fill over USB2.0 usually). It cools down in a few minutes, but I thought I'd check to see if it's normal behaviour. If it's relevant, the USB connector on the main bit (with the controls) is squint (angled towards the screen face of the player).
Also, my battery module's a bit creaky. When I press buttons on the player or swap the battery I can feel it creaking into different positions. The main player doesn't do this on its own, so I'm wondering if all the battery modules are like that. If not, I might send off for a new battery module as it's only about ?9 and it'd really improve the feel of the player (I hate cheap-feeling plastic if it's something I'm handling a lot).
Edit- Just to elaborate on the "creaky" thing, the battery pack feels really loose and plasticky on its own and when the main player bit's plugged in. This makes the whole thing feel a bit fiddly, creaking when I press down on buttons or the scroller, when in fact the player bit itself feels solid on its own.
Now, if I pop the player in the belt clip holster widget, it suddenly "tightens" up, presumably because the holster is pressing in around the player. It feels really, really solid. Is the problem shared by all the battery packs, or have I just mistreated mine a bit's If it's the latter I'll nab a new battery pack.Message Edited by Sockatume on 06-20-2005 03:44 AMMy Zen Micro heated up a bit when I was charging/transferring files too. I just unplugged it and in a few minutes it was fine. So that seems to be normal. Don't know about the other problem though, sorry.
