Hi Nott.
RamCash let you allow to set priority on Writing, Latency and some Others important details.
If you have the same CPU and GPU as I have we can start making sure this:
Your CPU is o.c. @ 4.7ghz or+.
GPU o.c.930mghz" this improve my time approx 7 sec."
Use 10gb of ram for ramcache, set latency on 10, and set writing priority.
Please let me know what HardD config you have and I will do with it.

  • Macbook Pro Good for Video Work?

    Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if the Higher end 15" or 17" Macbook Pro would be adequate for video editing with FCP? Does anyone use laptops for video editing? I previously used a 2007 MBP and it wasn't very good with rendering and real time playback.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
I don't do much video work myself but I have a pool of users who do that I support on campus. I asked one of them after seeing your post and this is the response I got:
+I definitely recommend to the user to get the machine with 512MB of VRAM and upgrade to 8GB if it's a production machine where time is money. While the 17s we have get the job done, they're not our primary production units, they're our mobile, "in the field" units for quick touch up or editing work. We have a series of Mac Pros that do the majority of our work and given the price vs. performance comparison between a Mac Pro and a 17" MacBook Pro the Mac Pro far exceeds the portability advantage.+
    Hope that helps.

  • Vector (good for storing) and arrays(good for numerical sums, multiplying)

Hi guys, I am trying to use vectors because I need a variable lenght and store 2D arrays in one coordenate of a vector. That is why I am using vector instead arrays. I can turn the type of variable using "Integer" (instead of "int" as arrays), "Double" (instead of "double") and so on. The problem is that it doesn't allow me to operate, it is very good for storing, but I need to be able to operate, multiplying, sum, etc the elements there are in the coordenates. And I think it is not possible.
What u think about it? I can only store stuff ion a vector, I cannot operate. Besides I cant turn a data from "Double" to "double", I can either use arrays OR vectors, but not both of them at the same time.
You think i am wrong?, because I mean in that case, Java is not very useful to do this numerical problem.
    Thanks.

The only way to, for instance, multiply a Double object by another Double object is to convert them back to primitives, multiply them, and create a new Double instance:
    public Double multiply(Double lhs, Double rhs) {
       return new Double( lhs.doubleValue() * rhs.doubleValue() );
}This is just an overhead that you have to accept if you want to use collections with primitive type data.
Coming soon in 1.5 (which is in Beta now and available for download in the usual places) a new feature called auto-boxing will do a lot of this automatically for you. You need to be aware that it's doing exactly the same operations with the same performance overhead; but it does save a lot of typing.
Thus in 1.5 the above becomes:
    public Double multiply(Double lhs, Double rhs) {
// Under the hood this is IDENTICAL to the above example
       return lhs * rhs;
    }Now, addressing your post directly:
Besides I cant turn a data from "Double" to "double"
Yes you can, as in the first example, the doubleValue() method converts a Double object to a double primitive.
Java is not very useful to do this numerical problem.
If you need math performance, you need to use primitives, yes. Yes, that will preclude the use of collections.
    Dave.

  • Is this macbook good for video games

what is the best mac for video games?

MacBook Pro has two graphics processors, the AMD comes in when the graphics load is high.
The iMac has a much better graphics processor and can handle much more memory and faster cpu for better response.
The Mac Pro has an even higher level graphics processor, memory, cpu, plus can take very large cinema displays and handles dual displays very well.
Take you pick depending on just what you want in the way of gaming capability.  How much do you need, 3-D?  Go to the Mac Pro for that level.

  • Is it possible to "partition" Iphone or Ipad when syncing?  What I would like to do is set up Itunes to use say 15GB for photos 15GB for music and 15 GB for video.  Any help would be appreciated. Thx

I am using a Widows 7 PC with the latest Itunes.  I would like to alot hard disc space on my 64GB Ipad2 as follows  15GB for music, 15GB for Video and 15GB for photos. I would then like Itunes to autofill from my PC. Can this be done? The same question also applies to my Iphone4. Thanks in advance

To my knowledge the iPod can only be used as a secondary monitor since you have to boot up the Mac and turn on the secondary display. You would still need a KB and pointing device for the Mac
However, you can log into the Mini from an iOS device like an iPad using app like LogMeIn, GoTo MyPC or TeamViewer on both the Mac and the iPad. You use the touch screen on the iPad for all control of the Mac.
As you said, that would be tedious for a lot of typing but you could use a BT keyboard for the iPad.

  • Which MacBook Pros are safe to buy used and not recalled for video graphics/display failure (due to overheating)?

I've had some bad luck with MacBook Pros lately. I bought a 2010 model but it was effectively a Total Loss because of a vehicle accident. From searching with Google, people have reported logic board failures. Who knows if mine would've failed, too.
Then I bought an older 2009 MacBook Pro and that eventually failed due to the graphics chip failure. There was a recall on it but the problem occured JUST after the recall period expired. I don't have a microwave solder lying around or a proper setup to fix the problem myself.
Now, I im in the market for a used MacBook Pro, as a gift (I can't afford a new one right now) (with the luck I have, I'm basically done with them but the person wants one).
I've seen some 2011 models priced quite attractively, which caused me to do a quick check and find that the (early) 2011 models also have video graphic failures. I don't get it. I understand paying for the name, but the name also has to have reliability and you don't hear about video graphics failures from some of the more well known PC manufacturers..just saying.
I'd strongly prefer to not purchase any retina models, if at all possible. I want a mechanical SATA HDD and an optical drive. I oppose proprietary components -- as I understand it, the retina models make it nearly impossible to upgrade.
Which used MacBook Pros are safe for purchase? In other words, which ones do not have recalls or are susceptible to video graphics/display failures? I don't want to put the money down for one, only to hear it kicked the bucket and it needs service and is out of warranty.
    Thank you for your time.

  • Usb 6211 and LabView - good for IV characteristic aquisition?

    Hi there,
I pre-emptively declare my lowest level in using LabView and all the annex tools, so my question won't result too silly.
I need to automatically acquire the IV characteristics for 4 solar devices, so I am thinking about connecting them to the USB 6211 in order to switch from one device to another one.
My question is: can I use a LabView Program in order to simulate the Voltage signal to apply (range c.ca -1 to +1 V), and then collect the relative current?
    If so, how??
Many thanks in advance for any sort of help.

LabVIEW has a toolkit available for this.  It uses an SMU card but you could simulate that with your 6211 and a current sensing resistor.
    Using LabVIEW: 7.1.1, 8.5.1 & 2013

  • Step between FMS2.0 and Orion/edge for video chat

We are planing a deployment of 4 FMS 2.0 Pro boxes with
hardware load balancing on port 1935 working successfully.
This allows for vertical scaling as we grow.
Our troubles are comming in video chat. I cant cluster chat
till Orion/Edge, but our needs are just barely outside a single box
configuration. Has anyone mastered video/chat pre-clusterd
    solutions?
    thanks!

AIM said this about AIM 6.5 http://www.aim.com/helpfaq/starting_out/getstarted.adp#608
There is no information that they have posted that says AIM 6.8 is any better.
Some say it will work (AIM in General that is)
This is certainly needed http://www.ralphjohns.co.uk/page12.html#_Service to allow the app through the Windows Firewall.
In the AIM Preferences you will also have to select the camera in the Enhanced IM tab
The Mic should be selected in the control Panels as a System wide thing.
AIM since before AIM 5.9 has used port 1024-5000 as well as the Login on port 5190 and there is no reason to suspect it is any different now.
These ports will need to be allowed or open in your routing device.

  • IChat and "Insufficient bandwidth" for video chats

I have spent hours and hours trying to solve this problem, after having spent a lot of money for an iSight specifically for use with iChat, which I now find don't work together. I just made the switch from PC to MAC and have been nothing but amazed until this... Here I have to give a huge "thumbs down", though. Apple has really screwed this one up.
The error when trying to connect video is "Insufficient bandwidth to maintain..." and sometimes "A communications error has occurred".
If anybody out there, especially APPLE can help me fix this, I'd be very appreciative. Note that I had GREAT success with aMSN, Yahoo Messenger, and Skype (for the mic).
Based on lots of reading, here are things I've done without success. Note that I have a very good ADSL-2 20MB connection! The machine is a new Mac mini Intel core duo.
    1. Set the QuickTime streaming bandwidth to below what I know the ADSL line can do.
    2. Set port forwarding for all the ports I found in all the FAQs, Apple technical documents, etc., etc.
    3. Tried turning the UPNP of the ADSL modem both ON and OFF.
    4. Made sure there is no firewall.
    5. Tried every setting for the video bandwidth setting in iChat.
    6. Tried both .mac and AIM accounts. (You never know...)
    7. Made sure I have none of the known conflicting software indicated by Apple.
    8. Made sure that Apple Remote connections are disabled.
    9. Upgraded to 10.4.7.
I have actually read that some people got around this problem by connecting their MAC directly to their ADSL modem and (presumably) turning off its routing functions. But what am supposed to do with my 4 other computers, then?
Apple, please FIX THIS! There are abosolutely tons of people with the same problem and no solution.
Mac mini intel duo   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    Ok Ralph... Thanks again.
When you said "two lots", I thought you may have meant that the DHCP server might be giving out IP addresses on two sub-nets (192.168.0.xxx, 192.168.1.xxx, etc.).
Since all of my machines have a static IP (except my business laptop, which I have to drag around to customer sites), I actually tried turning off the DHCP server to see if it helped. It didn't.
Also, I don't quite follow what you're saying about the NIC actually having two addresses (masquerading)... one from the modem and one from the DHCP. This should not be true, as it is the specific purpose of NAT to avoid this. Only the modem/router should really know "who is who" and relay packets appropriately.
The only pseudo-exception I can see for this is if the iChat software on the client and/or the AIM server is passing through the external/internal IP addresses as part of its data packets... ie., not in the IP headers to be handled normally by the NAT layer. If so, then this is just quite simply a design flaw in iChat... and a really stupid one.
One other point... Should I understand from your reply that if I set the modem up for "single user" mode (ie., turn off NAT and DHCP), then I would need to manually forward the right ports?

  • Movieclips no good for video?

I have been reading the article
    Migrating
Flash Project to Video where Chris Georgenes is saying you
should avoid Movieclips in this particular scenario.
I have seen this in other texts also, but at the same time I
think I've read that this is something that is corrected now. That
you can use MC's and still create a functioning video. Correct?
And if so, is there anybody who could redirect me to an
article in the same subject, but more recently written?

Found out that - since CS3 - Movieclips are OK for use when
    producing video.
Still would like to learn the best practice for taking swf to
high quality media that would be suited for DVD and/or big screen
projection. How to think regarding Pixel Aspect Ratio for example.

Open the set up page of the router by typing the IP address of 192.168.1.1 or open Cisco connection go to router settings
Then go to advanced settings and  then click copy password and hit OK ..once you on the router page
Go to wireless and click manual after that create network name (SSID) Then set the wireless security as WPA2 personal
Which would give you stabilize connectivity then upgrade the latest firmware on  the router and reduced the MTU to 1462..
Unplug the power from  the modem and  the router
Wait for 1 minute and plug them back wait for 1 minute and then check the speed .
