Cached old alert re alerting?? Wont stop!!

Ok here is the setup. We have subscriptions that run a script for certain alerts meeting criteria that runs a powershell script to change the resolution state. Orchestrator 2012 is setup to monitor for an alert with this specific resolution state
and when it sees an alert with this resolution state, the runbook creates and sends an email to our ticketing system based on the severity and what not.
About 2 weeks ago a Unix agent started sending alerting every night about the exact same alert. % Free space is too low. The alert is making its way to Orchestrator and cuts a ticket, but its a false positive because the disk is actually healthy.
The alert never shows up in the SCOM console as an active alert OR a closed alert. In fact, I cant find it anywhere when I am looking in the console, but somehow Orchestrator is seeing it as a new alert. I have removed the agent from the server
numerous times. I had the Unix admin remove the scx directories and files from the agent. I have rebooted the SCOM servers and the Orchestrator servers. I tried to add the disk objects to a group where its overridden not to alert. I
even went into the databases and removed all entries I could find for this alert for the particular agent.
And it still alerts every night. Each time it has a different alert GUID. The alert seems to be cached somewhere, but I have no clue where.
Anyone else ever run into this? Its only one agent, but it has to be raising the alert each night and setting of the subscription to send to orchestrator.
At this point I am totally lost!

For a little more detail here is what was happening. The server runs a script every night that mounts several volumes connected to a SAN. SCOM eventually discovers these objects and one of them was actually full so the alert ended up being valid.
When the script was done running the mounts would get removed so it was falling out of the override that I setup to ignore these alerts.
I created a dynamic group population formula on Unix Logical disk objects matching a name pattern and the alerts immediately stopped and have not come back. I think that the override pics them up after they are discovered post mount so they fall back
into the override....I think.

This has worked fine until about 18 hours ago when I started receiving an alert similtaniously on my iphone and ipad that "his calendar is now public" - this has been going off EVERY 15 seconds since then.
I have completely powered doen both ipad and iphone but it still happens.
I have switched of calendar alerts in my settings, still it happens. I have had to have my phone on silent all day just so I do not hear the alert.
When it pops up my calendar saya I have one invitation, if I click and say ok it still pops up again.
PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!

Old Model Apple TV wont stop synchronising

I have an old style Apple TV (Love IT!!) Of late it synchronises without stopping. Am using iTunes 10.0.1. It also keeps on losing connection to iTunes. Any ideas??

Me too - exactly the same. I love(d) my Apple TV but having spent many months researching this I'm afraid to tell you that
A) There is no fix.
B) Apple don't care.
Occasionally someone answers one of these threads with the helpful "Mine works just fine" but no-one (to my knowledge) has been able to say why the ATV loses connection to iTunes, via wifi or cable, or why it hangs syncing. Incidentally, it doesn't matter whether you use PC, Mac, Apple routers, whatever. Even the new ATV2 is not immune. Spend a few hours on this forum or Google to confirm..
The only thing that resolves it for me is re-starting iTunes. The library re-appears on my ATV for 2 mins, 2 hours, who knows...
It's such a shame because the interface is lovely and the idea is great. The only reliable way to use it seems to be to sync everything to the ATV and just use it as a giant iPod - in other words forget streaming from your computer's library completely. Difficult if your library is > 160gb though

PS. I have streamed my library via Twonky all round my network, both wired and wifi, to PCs, XBox, PS3's, without any device EVER losing the library, for about three years now.

Issue on BPM(Business Process Monitoring): Reorganization of old alerts

Hi BPM Folks,
Is there any way for reorganization of old alerts to clean up the system?
Because a service desk message(Ticket) is created each time when a job is cancelled. i.e, The number of tickets are created as many times of the same job is cancelled.
Is there any way to accumulate the tickets related to the same job OR not to recreate the ticket again if the same job is cancelled?
We do see an option called u201Cmax number of alerts for each message idu201D in MTE properties of tcode RZ20. Is anything to do with this?

This issue is resolved.
Resolution:
1. BPMon alerts are automatically reorganized by the BPMon engine according to the settings in the BPMon session in node "Activation", tab "Alert reoganization".
2. If we have configured 1 service desk message per 1 alert, then that's what we'll get. If we don't want fewer messages, we will have to change the thresholds for the messages in node "Notification" in the BPMon setup session.

Just power off the machine(s). Shut them down. Migration Assistant gets 'stuck' sometimes - best way to migrate really isn't over Firewire, though it will certainly work, but with both machines hardwired via Ethernet to the same router. You can use a TM backup, too, of course, provided that it's recent. Which is the best? Your choice. I've done it both ways and have a preference for MA, but TM restore can be a bit faster and less quarrelsome.

Operations manager console shows old alerts

Hi All,
I Have this issue regularly, I am using SCOM 2007 R2 CU4. But recently this issue has become very frequent. I see more number of old alerts rather than new alerts in my SCOM console. Below is a screen shot. Is there any specific reason for this ? If
yes, How can i overcome this issue.
I checked the Health of the databases (Both Opsmanager & Ops manager warehouse database). Both are healthy they have 0 consistency errors in them. And have enough free space in them.
Below is the SQL Query what is used to check them.
For OpsmanagerDB -

For Ops manager Data warehouse:

Ops db has 16GB Free from total of 40GB.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

Alert sounds stopped working

My email, WWF, etc. alert sounds stopped working on my Ipad2, suddenly, for no reason. I tried resetting the system 3 times and that did not hellp. The OS is up to date. The do work if I 'test' them, though. And, my sound works fine on videos, etc.
Any suggestions? It is past the warranty period

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. My voicemail alert wont go away even though there are no voicemails

my voicemail alert wont go away even though there are no voicemails, i have tried turning notifications off and restarting the phoe. the little red circle above the phone icon wont dissapear on the home screen, and the red circle above the voicemail icon wont go away either.

Make sure you tap on Recent in the Phone app. I've found that when the red badge shows up for a missed call/voicemail it means I need to go to the recent calls view as well to clear out that notice.

ICal Old Alerts

I have an iPhone and two computers syncing iCal. I only use my MBAir every couple of months when I travel. When I do use it, I get pop-ups and emails of all the old iCal alerts from the past months since the last time I used it.
I have tried to solve this by setting the alerts set to not be sent unless iCal is open - which is not what I want, but I did in order to have iCal time to sync on the computer before I open iCal. Even after it has the MBAir has synced, when I open iCal on the MBAir, the calendar items seem to be updated, but I still get all of the old alerts.
Any suggestions?

on your MBair go to Preferences>advanced and check "turn off all alarms"

Just a quick question about the old alert logs on the home page of the oem. They have been sitting there for a while and I would like to delete them. Is there a way to go about doing this?

For most of the alerts in EM-GC, the main way to clear the alerts is to resolve the underlying issue. For example, if you get a filesystem utilization alert, then if you free up more space, then the next time the Agent checks the space against the thresholds, if the space used does not cross the thresholds, then the filesystem utilization alert will clear. There are also a subset of alerts (e.g. log-based alerts such as alert log) that will allow the user to manually 'clear' the alerts from the EM-GC console. If you do not care about getting alerts for the metric, then you can remove the thresholds from the metric to prevent the generation of alerts for that metric.
If You are pretty sure that the underlying cause is cleared and the alert stucked in GC Repository you may need to log a new SR it could be a bug.
Regarding Deleting the alerts manually from the repository this is very dangerous and it may has a bad impact on the consistency of the data.
also deleting the alert manually from OEM-DBconsole is completely different than Grid Control R2.
Note: OEM-DBconsole = OEM-GC R1 (Utilize The Same Repository)

My Ipod classic wont stop restoring

Is there anything i can do without having to buy a new one? Its about two years old, and a few months ago it made some clicking sound and kept restoring and now it wont stop. Is there anything I can do to fix it or is it just unusable now?

Ringtone wont stop playing

everytime i have the sound on on my phone and i get a text message i open the text but the ringtone keeps playing until its over. it doesn't stop when i open the message. My old one never did that not even when i first got it. i just got this one the other day in the mail because my old one fried itself. i have tried everything and i have no idea why it wont stop playing the ringtones. Please help me.

Do you have a long ringtone assigned to these types of messages? Different OS versions on the phone can sometimes handle this differently. Try a shorter message notifier, not a long mp3.

My 1 year old -- ha! one month out of warranty -- iPhone 4 has been having a nearly identical problem over the past few days.
It started by dying completely so I had the battery replaced, thinking it was simply battery issue.
It then worked again for a moment but started doing exactly what you describe, going through a reset cycle (longer than 30 seconds but who's counting). And it felt quite warm.
Did hard reset, plugged into wall charger and MBP USB but the new battery wouldn't even get a full charge (a whopping 92% after nearly two days). It would even lose battery when plugged in if I opened an app. And all the while plugged in, if I left the phone on, it would cycle through these resets. So I turned it off to try to charge it.
Now suddenly, it's dead again. Totally black, and hard reset does nothing. Up until two days ago there was nothing wrong whatsoever with this phone! And I hadn't even installed a new app that could be the root of the issue. No idea whatsoever what caused this.
Any help would be much appreciated!!

i tryed everything i can in the setting and so on , i even clicked on the downloads arrow to pause it and delete them but like i said it will now stop.

to the right by search library theres an arrow there click on it : it will show you what it is downloading , from there you can pause and select all and delete them but still will continue to download them if you tell itunes to check for downloads. that download engien is crazy i tell yeah.
no matter what we do it will still download them trust me i tryed everything and i also went to icloud to see if it was there but to what i see is that there is no apps there this is some crazy itune program that needs to remade.
