CAD 5.0 Integrated Browser

Hello Guys,
I have a customer running UCCX 5.0.2 Premium and they are trying to access a web application via the CAD Integrated Browser, whenever they do specific menu functions they receive an error dialog box.  The applications works fine in IE 6 and higher,  and thier developer says all that is required is to disable debug from Internet option as you would in IE.
My Question:
How do we disable script debugging in CAD Integrated Browser?
Thanks
Rich

All good questions!  The integrated browser uses the built in module shipped with IE and it would if anything be affected by disabling script debugging in the normal IE instance on the machine.  If thats not affecting it you can use the adapter I wrote to move them external.  https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3401856#3401856

When openeing the CAD Desktop Workfow Admin > select the default workflow> CAD Agent > User Interface
We can't find the "Browser Setup" tab so that we can enable the integrated browser !
For CAD-BE we could find the tab, but for CAD Agent we could not !
    It's really strange !
    Can you please advise ?
    thanks in advance.

    Hi ,
Could you attach the screenshot of the same? What license you have for UCCX?
Integrated multitabbed browser comes only with UCCX Premium licensing package.

  • CAD Integrated browser and CUIC Permalink

    Hello All,
In Cisco Desktop Administrator the Integrated browser is enabled and CUIC Permalink home page is setup.
One of the work flow is using CUIC Permalink. There are 7 agents assigned to the work flow however couple of agents and I experiencing below started issue.
Which I suspect may be a desktop or Microsoft group policy related issue. However I want to investigate the issue from the UCCE CAD aspect.
I have looked into CAD however no luck.
    Problem Description
    ++++++++++++++
Please see screen dump CAD login. When Agent login into Cisco Agent Desktop, The agent gets the Certificate pop and the option on the certificate (Yes and No and View certificate).
If I click “YES” I login Cisco Agent Desktop displays the home page in the Integrated Brower. If I click “NO” I can login into CAD however the home page is not displayed.
If I click “view certificate” I have the option to install Certificate. The source of the Certificate is CUIC. I have installed the certificate however I am still getting the certificate pop up.
I would like to know that why the couple of agents now getting the certificate pop up and the rest do not ?
    CAD 8.5(2a) and CUIC 8.5.3

    Thanks Anthony.
I did find out that if the customer's web app has links in it that when you click will launch a new tab it will work within Integrated Browser. You can even close it afterwards. The other problem I'm running into is that it doesn't seem that I can use the "Run Macros" within the Integrated Browser. When you try the "Record" option it doesn't record any of the clicks you do within the CAD Integrated Browser. I take it there's no workaround for this as well?
BTW, I did already suggest running it outside of CAD (via launch app and macros) and customer didn't want it that way...

  • Child protection fail: Gmail app's integrated browser bypasses Safari restrictions

I found, the hard way, that my children are able to bypass parental restrictions on their iphones by clicking through links in gmail.
Scenario: iOS device, Parental restrictions on downloading 12+ apps, Parental restrictions on Safari browser.    Result: Presumably, children cannot download an app that contains a browser, and cannot access the Internet except via apps that protect against adult content.
However, although the Gmail app is rated 4+, if the child receives (via an invitation, a friend sharing a site, or through spam) an email with links to a mobile website, the integrated browser allows access to content of any age range. How is this reasonable?  Common sense would indicate that the parental controls within iOS should be able to also restrict the integrated browser within the Gmail app.
My purpose here is to start a discussion that will attract attention to this issue. I realize that no amount of parental controls can create a 100% failsafe, but this seems a glaring hole through which any number of attacks can get to our children. The app developers need to close the hole, by not activating the integrated browser if parental controls have restricted browser access. Can children (and especially teens) still bypass the security?  Probably so.  But, it makes adult content a lot harder for children to access by accident or inadvertent click-through.
Apple moderators...your company has incredible power to influence change. Please evaluate whether you agree that this is a risk.  I would be delighted to discuss the matter further, and either way would like to hear back from you on this subject.
    John

You would have to talk to the creator of the application, and go through Apple's feedback forums to be able to contact either of them to change this. It is an issue, but this is not the place where anyone who could fix it can become aware of it.

  • CAD and CUPS integration query

I have customer integrating CAD (on UCCE 8.5) to CUPS (8.5).
The CUPS infrastructure is being built to log IM chats.
A question has been raised on whether or not CAD's IM chats would be logged?
I'm told it may depend on whether CAD uses XMPP, or SIP/SIMPLE to integrate to CUPS,
but that question aside, would CAD's chat be logged?

    Hi
I will try to answer theoretically since I don't have this deployment in the lab nor have I tested the CAD integration.
As per SRND the IM storage is supported on both CUPC 7.x and 8.x clients. That means that both protocols are supported ie SIP/SIMPLE and XMPP
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/8x/presence.html#wp1185603
By default all inbound messages to those clients that pass through CUP server will be stored in the external postgres db (you can also enable outbound IM to be stored but anyway)
So based on the above I would say that yes they should be recorded if the messages pass through CUP server (and I think they do)

  • UCCX 8.5: CSQ Name Displayed in CAD Integrated Broswer?

    Cisco Forum:
Can UCCX 8.5 for the Cisco Agent Desktop (CAD) provide the CSQ Name in the Integrated Broswer portion of the CAD?  That is, the CAD can be used to pop a web link to agents on incoming calls.  While the CAD can show the CSQ Name by default, it does so in a reasonable small font amid other data.  Can some call script variable be set for the CSQ Name which would then be used to dynamically pop a unique web link on CAD Integrated Browser which would then display whatever is configured as a web link to display?
As an alternative, can agents using the CAD also have a IP Phone display of the CSQ Name.
Thank you for your comments and suggestions.
    Dan

Before you can pass the CSQ name to the integrated browser you must first have the script pass the CSQ name to the CAD. It needs to show in the top left panel where the ANI is currently displayed.
See this link for an example of how to create a layout and the script changes to pass a value to CAD.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3478154#3478154
You can then build a dynamic URL in the desktop administrator with the CSQ name.

  • How to spawn and reuse separate browser windows from CAD?

I'm currently working to integrate some of our existing web applications with CAD.  My original plan, before I got my hands on CAD, was to spawn new windows from the mbedded browser via targetted hyperlinks or JavaScript.  However, I've learned the hard way that CAD's integrated browser makes every attempt to open a new window in a new tab.  Worse, even if you name your target window, CAD seems to refuse to re-use the previously opened tab but just spawns a new one.
This is quite problematic.  The agents all have two monitors to faciliate more screen real-state and showing information side-by-side.  Forcing all websites to show in CAD's tabs thwarts this.
I've considered launch Internet Explorer as a separate application, instead, but that is a degree mroe complicated in building a dynamic URL.  I believe it would also spawn a new window each time, meaning agents would have to re-log-in every time.
If I disable the integrated browser, will it leverage Internet Explorer on its own?  Or will it just disable HTTP application integration entirely?
(Am I wrong to be entirely frustrated by such a handicapped web environment?)

From the sound of it, he was using javascript inside of the web application to open a new window. This was automatically being forced to open in a new tab by CAD, similar to clicking on a link. There is no method I am aware of to directly instruct CAD to open a request in a new tab.

  • Offer: Move Screenpops to External Browser in CAD!!

    Hello,
As many of you may know I write software from time to time.  I have long had a request and seen it on these boards.
"How can we move our screenpop integration outside CAD to a browser window?"
Very logical, it indeed it pretty rough on the screen realestate, as well as utilizing multiple monitors.  Anyways please find attached the 3rd iteration of my screen pop utility.  This will allows use the default instance of the browser of your DEFAULT browser.  supports chrome, firefox and IE.  Windows XP, Vista and 7.
1.) its written in VS 2008 so you need need .NET 3.5 installed on all the agent PC's.
2.) Put the exe and config file in a directory on all the agents PC's.
3.) in the configuration file you will see 2 configurations.
    <
    add key="DefaultURL" value="https://www.google.com"/><
    add key="ParamURLBase" value="https://www.google.com/search"/>
Default URL - This should be your login url for your CRM.  https://exampecrm.com/login
ParamURL - This is specifically for outbound screenpops.  Where we need to pass Parameters instead of full URL to the plugin.
4.) You can configure a button in CAD for login by assigning the Launch External Application and pointing to the exe with NO parameters.  This will launch the default URL.  this will launch the default instance with the login screen so the CRM remains logged in
5.) For an inbound screen pop you should for the FULL URL in an ECC variable in the ICM script.  Pass this ECC to CAD and on Answer pass this ECC variable in as the only argument to the EXE...                        "C:\Stuff\ExternalPop.exe" ECCURL  in CAD Desktop Administrator
6.) For outbound screenpops set ParamURLBase to the base of you pop...  http://www.google.com/search
For argument 1 pass in the word "params"..  each argument after that will be treated as a variable pair for the URL... ie.  search=test
In CAD configuring this under a button..    "C:\Stuff\ExternalPop.exe" "params" "stuff=test1" "tool=awesome" will produce a URL of
    http://www.google.com/search?stuff=test1&tool=awesome
This should allow you all to move your screenpops of all types outside of the CAD integrated browser giving your clients a greater experience.  If you or any of your clients have custom tools or integrations please contact me at [email protected] for guidance.  Feedback is much appreciated!
    Chad Stachowicz

    Hey guys,
I am releasing version 1.0.0.8 tonight.
This version has true support for outbound, inbound and any url combination possible.
There is three ways to use it.
1.)  With a button and Cad, if you call the exe with Launch External Application, and no paramaters it will launch the DefaultURL in the config file.  Good for having your agent login screen
2.) If you call the exe with a single parameter, it expected this is a URL and will screenpop the URL you want.  Good for normal screenpops
3.) Anything more then 1 parameter and the exe is expecting the first parameter to be the URL you want to pop from the config file.  For example in the config file See      OutboundURL.  Paramteres 2 - x fill in the %'s in the config file URLs.  This is necessary for using this with CAD outbound option.  I have implemented this at a customer and its working good, but takes a decent amount of configuration in the workflow.
    Cheers,
    Chad

  • CAD integration with sap

could any CAD integration experts give me some integration capability documents? i'm new to this area, just want to know the integration points between the cad and sap...for example: I've read some material, it saids that when the CAD design is near to complete, the material used in CAD will be transferred to SAPu2026
The question is: how the CAD material is integrated with SAP  material master data? is this two different set of material master data? thanks in advance!

    Hi,
It is not required to use interface only when the design is completed in CAD..these interfaces are bulit in such a way it will support complete CAD document life cycle ...

  • UCCX Integration with ITSM Tool

    Dear
We are running Cisco UCCX 8.5 in our environment. We are in process of integrate the ticketing system with Contact Centre.
Our developer needs to develop connector between Agent and Heat Service Management to get data depend on Caller ID
When phone rings, we need to get caller id to show popup screen with customer data and history from our system
how CISCO help us with this issue to get caller id by service or api.
Kindly suggest the best way to do it or if anyone has done it please guide us.
    Regards
    M Taha

There are a few ways of doing it but you should be aware that most of these are due to be deprecated when Cisco replaces CAD with Finesse, a browser-based OpenSocial UI. A specific timeline for this is not publicly available; you can speak with your Cisco AM/SE to get additional details. It is not yet clear which integration options will exist through Finesse. Almost all of these options require Premium licensing.
Send an HTTP GET/POST event from within the AEF script. You would need to adjust your Select Resource parameter Connect = no. This would change the Connected branch to a Selected branch. You need to embed a Connect step within it; however, you can add HTTP steps prior to that which can push a URL containing the agent username and the caller ID for example. This has the advantage of making CAD irelevent.
Utilizing CAD gives you several additional options. These are explained in detail in the CDA User Guide (starting around page 97)
Send an Inter-Process Call event to the other local application
Run a keystroke macro to copy and paste variable data into another window.
Launch an external application (including command-line switch options)
Send an HTTP GET/POST message using the CAD Integrated browser

  • Calls In Queue on Cad

Is there an easy way to display Calls In Queue inside the CAD?  Maybe even longest waiting call?   Aside from clicking around the tool bar and opening windows, is there a solution for pushing this available info out to the CAD?
Anyway to modify the Icons in the Supervisor Agent List.  Currently it shows Ready and Not Ready, but is there a way to create customized Icons that match Not Ready States?
    Duh...

The Calls in Queue is displayed as a report within CAD.  Agents would have to click on the  Reports icon (or Ctrl-Q) then select Contact Service Queue Statistics.
If you want more detail, one workaround is to use a wallboard.  There are some opensource ones available (search the forums).  If you have a web-based wallboard setup, you can customize it, then display it as a tab within the CAD integrated browser.  That way your agents always see it (without clicking), and you can show any data you want.
I don't believe you can modify the Supervisor Desktop icons.

  • No Browser setup tab in Desktop Workflow Administrator - UCCX 8.5.1

    Hi ,
I am unable to see the Browser Setup tab in desktop workflow administrator ( pc installed version) under the workflow group / cad agent / user interface
I assume that its due to me only running enhanced licences rather than premium but can't find any documentation to confirm that

I have found the answer , it is a licencing requirement , integrated browser on CAD is premium only

  • Uccx/CAD/Message board

      Good afternoon,
Has anyone in the Cisco environment had experience with bringing message board capabilities to the agent desktop..I have one CSQ that has requested seeing agents available and call Que's somehow right from the CAD without going to and opening up separate report windows..It seems to me that there would be a way to maybe scroll that info somewhere in the cad window..and then again...
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

CAD does not offer this natively. You can use a third-party wallboard application of your choosing. If that product supports display within a normal browser window and you have Premium licenses in CCX you could use the CAD Integrated Browser. This is a tabbed browser that exists within the CAD window.
Only two products are listed on the compatibility matrix; however, there are others out there assuming you are willing to self-support.

  • CSQ Stat Screen in CAD-BE

Can someone tell me how to configure either the Windows CAD or the CAD-BE to display that CSQ Stats screen within the main windows with the smallest footprint possible? Also, I would be interested in opinions on the pros/cons of CAD vs. CAD-BE. Our agents run a couple of simultaneuos applicatios, so screen real estate is at a premium.
    Thanks

CAD or the CAD-BE to display that CSQ Stats screen within the main
windows with the smallest footprint possible?
I presume you are referring to the basic calls waiting statistic available to the agent through the Reports button?  If so, this cannot be integrated into the main CAD/CAD-BE window. If you have a third-party wallboard product you could put that in the Integrated Browser if you have a Premium license.
opinions on the pros/cons of CAD vs. CAD-BE
CAD allows for workflows and the integrated browser while CAD-BE does not. CAD-BE relies on Java which could be a pro or a con depending on your environment. At the moment, CAD-BE is typically used for customers who do not meet the install requriments of CAD.
