CAF Tutorial - My First Process

Hi All,
I'm getting this strange error, I am following the My First Process tutorial, I can create a Content Package Object, when I try to upload the StartPage.htm, I follow the steps, hit "add" then the screen just goes back to the upload file page (no "done" button appears) and it acts as if I haven't uploaded a file yet..
Am I missing some roles or something to allow me to upload a file? In the details section of this content object i did make sure to give myself full control over this object, not sure if that helps.
I'm running ESS 60.1 on a EP7 installation

Hi Jitender,
Did you update the SMTP host by logging into the Visual Admin (Server-> services-> caf/eu/gp/model).
Also, for the id with which you logged in, make sure you give first name, last name and email.
Thanks
Ram

  • Mapping LDAP Role in Building Your First Process with Oracle BPM 11g

    I'm working on "Building Your First Process with Oracle BPM 11g" I'm at the end of step where assigns user for the requester. The problem is in identity lookup, "Realm" is empty for Remote_WLServer.
    Servers are up and running. Demo user community has been loaded - I can see the list of users and groups in the administration server under myrealm. We haven't done much since SOA suite 11g installation. I'm probably the first one who uses this. I wonder we have a missing set up? Can you me what's missing? Appreciate your help in advance.

    I get this error message when I clicked gear icon.

  • Regarding CAF Tutorial

    Hi,
    Is there any link available in sdn where i can get sample applications on Composite application services (CAS), mainly on the core part so that i can get some hands on practice on the programming part of CAF .
    For webdynpro for java we can get lots of sample applications  .
    I tried searching in sdn .There are lots of PDF documents on GP and visual composer but very few are on CAS . Sample applications are not available at all .
    Thanks a lot .

  • In Katie's Cafe tutorial, how did she create her color sample?

    In the Adobe Muse tutorial for Katie's Cafe.  How was the color sample created.  She just had us drag it onto our Muse document, but how was the color palette created initially so that it can be used in your Muse document?
    Thanks!

    I think I figured out the solution to the problem people are having.  It has to do with the order that you do things when you try to bring in colors from somewhere else.  If you try to just take colors from somewhere else (ie copy and past them) muse will not recognize them as swatches and even if you take the colors and put them in rectangles in muse and save them to a library muse will still not recognize them as swatches.  What you have to do to create a color set like she did in the tutorial is as follows....
      Copy/Paste your colors into muse
      Make rectangle objects in muse that contain the colors
      Open up the swatches window and click add swatch
      Select one of the colors you added - click ok
      Repeat this process for all the color rectangles you have made
    Now you can use the selection tool to select all the colors you made and create a library with them that will work.
    The issue people seem to be having (and that I myself had) is that when you just copy/paste colors into muse it does not automatically make a swatch for the new color.  When she uses the swatch library in the demo it does add the swatches automatically.  This happens because she went through the process of creating the swatches in muse first (which you are never shown) and not just copy/pasting the colors from some other program.

  • Townsend Cafe Tutorial - in CS3? Where?

    I have Fireworks 8 running at home and have used the fine
    tutorial of the "Townsend Cafe" to practice setting up site
    graphics;
    I wanted to use this with some students, but the school lab
    has CS3 (soon to be CS4). I see the Townsed Cafe files there, but
    when I go to Help, I don't find the totorial which uses those
    files. Am I missing something?
    I thought of copying my FW8 files, but couldn't find the FW
    Help. DW has its Help files right in the directory. Where are they
    for FW? How can I use this with my students? Anyone know?

    You may need to upgrade Jdeveloper to the latest 11.1.1.6.5 version (get it from support or edelivery) or better still to 11.1.1.7. There were some bugs in previous releases especially on the human workflow edit screens. Right now there is nothing much you can do except hit continue and then restart Jdeveloper - but again I think you might still see that error.

  • Problems with CAF tutorial 85 Using RFCs as External Services

    Has anybody managed to follow this to the end successfully? I have managed to get to the last step. When I try to test in the Service Browser with a valid userId I get the following error:
    "ERROR. Mandatory attribute userId value is missing".
    I have definitely got a valid userId; it seems as if it is not being mapped to the input of the BAPI.
    Any suggestions how to proceed?
    - Tony.

    Actually there is a little more detail here: if I pass in a definitely invalid userId eg 'Fred', I get the error message:
    "ERROR: User FRED does not exist".
    Which is the message in the RETURN table of the BAPI.
    This means that the BAPI must have received the input parameter.
    However, when I pass in my own userId (which I tested in the BAPI already from the SAP GUI), it gives me the error mentioned in the first post:
    "ERROR. Mandatory attribute userId value is missing".
    So this implies to me that the error message is a bit of a red herring, since the first case clearly demonstrated that the userId was being passed into the BAPI.
    Any suggestions for follow up?

  • Guided procedures scenario, don't know where too start.

    Hi all,
    I am totally new to the CAF framework.
    I've done a lot of reading and also did the tutorial "My first process".
    The scenario:
    I need to have a scenario where a user fills out an interactive form and submits this form. The data is also submitted in a SQL database.
    His manager (a dynamic user) has to approve this form.
    After the approval the form has to go to the inbox of a department where they can fill in additional information.
    After filling in this information a feedback has to be sent to the user that filled in the form.
    Problems:
    - After doing the first tutorial i wanted to do some more turorials to learn more about guided procedures. All tutorials that I have found requires some beginning point like a Web Dynpro CO or something else. Are there more tutorials that guide you trough a process from scratch?
    - The tutorials that I have found with Interactive forms are designed with the Adobe Designer, not with the NWDS designer. So if you want to add a CO Interactive form you can't use this one because you don't have a .XDP file.
    - Is there a clear tutorial how to add a user dynamicly? For example in the tutorial "My first process" you have to add users while initiate the process. I also read the blog "Passing email address for Interactive Form step". But here the user still have to define to wich email address the form has to be sent. In my scenario the right email address is already in the Adobe form so I want to sent it to that email address.
    - Does a user always has to go to Guided Procedures > Runtime in the portal or can you make your own menu items for starting a process, approve a process etc.
    I know it are a lot of questions but I hope that you can help me out with at least some of them because it is really dazzeling right now.

    The scenario you mentioned should be possible using GP.  In response to your questions,
    > The tutorials that I have found with Interactive forms are designed with the Adobe
    > Designer, not with the NWDS designer. So if you want to add a CO Interactive form
    > you can't use this one because you don't have a .XDP file.
    Adobe LiveCycle designer comes packaged with NWDS.  You can download it from service marketplace and run it standalone:

    > Does a user always has to go to Guided Procedures > Runtime in the portal or can

    No, the runtime doesn't have to be used.  Check out this thread for more details:

  • Sending Emails in GP

    Hi all,
    I am working on the tutorial "my first process".
    See URL: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/4a/d78041a17e060de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
    But I am not able to send or receive a Email.
    I created Email-Templates and the SMTP server is set to the mail server of the company (Visual Administrator).
    But the system is unable to send mails to the recipient.
    Can any of you suggest what the problem is and what is the possible workaround?
    Thanks in advance,
    Stefan Becke

    Hi Dipankar,
    thank you for your response, but a valid Email-Address of the receiver is still set at the UME details.
    Do you have also any other ideas?
    Thanks,
    Stefan

  • Tried to follow the first video tutorial with no success

    Hi,
    I tried to run the first video tutorial (Your First AFCS Application) on LCCS SDK Navigator with no success.
    The code as described is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"

    I am not getting any message related to connection.  And yes, the username and password are correct; I just removed them for privacy.  Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hi Kevin (and welcome to the forums!),
    Wow, that's a trip... ConnectSessionContainer is a visual component, so I
    guess it needs to be outside your <fx:Declarations> tags. I didn't know that
    putting it in there would cause all hell to break loose (I love how the
    number of bytes keeps changing!); you learn something new every day!

  • Only a "zombie" process appears when Firefox is launched for the first time.

    When I launch Firefox, only Firefox process appears in the Task Manager. Firefox window does not appear at all. When I launch Firefox for the second time, Firefox window appears normally and there are two Firefox processes in the Task Manager.
    While writing this story, I have two Firefox processes in the Task Manager:
    firefox.exe *32 Jussi 01 102 540K Firefox <= the second process
    firefox.exe *32 Jussi 01 1432K Firefox <= the first process
    Why doesn't Firefox start at the first attempt?
    The procedure repeats every time I try to launch Firefox.

    A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • How to send e-mails using CAF GP?

    Hi All,
    I have created a sample application which uses Process Control -> Visual Approval Callable Object for approving a vendor. I have also developed two mail templates for Approval and Rejection.
    The SMTP server is set to the mail server of the company.
    But the system is unable to send mails to the recipient. The following error message is displayed on clicking on "Approve":
    <i>Recipient data is missing.
    The system failed to send an e-mail notification to <Initiator>.</i>
    Can any of you suggest what the problem is and what is the possible workaround?
    Thanks in advance,
    Pavithra

    Hi Pavithra,
    Have u completed all the necessary configurations needed at the Visual Administrator level,
    You need to configure GP to be capable of picking the mails from your mail server at some regular intervals of time,
    You can refer to the document "Configuring GP for Interactive forms" at
    SAP Composite Application Framework - CAF Tutorial Center [original link is broken]
    Hope this will help,

  • Invoking GP process from UWL

    I'd like to invoke a guided procedure on our EP (7.0 SP8 with Java stack) triggered by an organisational change in R/3 HR (4.6C). The Business Workflow is quite easy to set up, and a task can be seen & executed in UWL on portal.
    How do I easily start a GP instance either through an URL (from e-mail message) or a direct (RPC-style) call from workflow using the agent's credentials and pass an employee number as parameter?
    Possible techniques which came to mind are these:
    - expose WD application as a web service and call it from R/3 workflow; WD app in turn launches the GP process
    - as above but deliver link to service as an URL in e-mail message
    - call a function module which somehow can invoke the GP process on another SAP system
    Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    -Arto-

    you can start a GP process via Web service
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/44/64db6d81896d12e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
    or via GP Java api, look at section "3.3.4.1 Starting and Terminating Processes Within a Composite" (page 284) from the How-to guide https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/1eb928a1-0601-0010-f890-be9169f0d856

    or from a UI like wedynpro using the GP web service or GP java api method

  • Cannot start BPM process, "Start process" button is disabled: Why?

    Dear all,
    I am working on the BPM example "Modeling Your First Process with SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management" with the "Purchase process". I did everything as mentioned in the tutorial.
    At the end, I would like to start the process using
    NWA > Configuration management > Processes and Tasks > Process Repository
    I can see my WD example that I have deployed and I see the my task definitions and my process definition. In the tutorial it says, that I can select the process definition and click "Start process". But the button "Start process" is always disabled. I cannot click the button. I don't know why. Did I miss something?
    I am logged in as Administrator. I am using NW AS 7.2 and I am developing with NWDS 7.1 SP04.
    Anyone has an idea what can I do to start the process?
    Thanks in advance
    Edited by: Patrick Beck on Jun 25, 2010 4:55 PM

    Thanks for the link.
    I added the new context attribute in the XSD files (under Process Modeling > Data Types > XSD Files).
    Since I added a new context attribute "Comment" of type String in my Web Dynpro, I added the following on the corrent position of the XSD files:
                             <xsd:element name="Comment" type="com.sap.dictionary.string">
                   <xsd:annotation>
                        <xsd:appinfo>
                             <xsd:attribute name="ReadOnly" type="xsd:boolean" fixed="false"/>
                                                                          </xsd:appinfo>
                   </xsd:annotation>
              </xsd:element>
    I also edited input and output mapping of the human and automated activities to support the new attribute "Comment". I thought this is enough to pass the new "Comment" parameter from activity to activity.
    But when I started the process, I filled in the comment field in Web Dynpro and went to the next step in the process. Seems like the new attribute value for "Comment" got lost. It does not appear in the next process step.
    Did I miss something?
    These are the steps I did:
    - edit Web Dynpro UI to support the new context attribute "Comment". created new input field and mapped to the Comment context attribute (that is defined in my WDP interface).
    - edited XSD files (one for each human activity) to support the new Comment attribute as mentioned above.
    - edited the mapping between the activities to support pass-through of the new Comment attribute between the activities
    But it seems like it's not saved in the context attribute "Comment". It got lost after the first step.
    Any ideas?
