googlegroups and twitch.tv won't load properly (no content displayed) cleared cookies/cache, nodnsprefetch=true, made sure no proxy, safemode, didn't help!
The rough page layout works fine, but the actual tv-content (twitch) or the actual message texts (ggroups) won't show up. Also, clicking on the prefernces wheel in ggroups will display a small, empty box instead of a drop down menu filled with stuff.
The pages all work properly in chromium.
Note that youtube and normal google search, freemail provider pages, news pages and basically all other pages i can think of work normally and 100%!
I'm using linux 64bit, firefox 22. This problem however, is not new, it happened with older ff versions too. I'm just tired of firing up chromium each time, so i decided to report it here to get a solution.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":

I did think about that and if I have to I will do that, however there are about 50 songs. I have closed and reopened iTunes several times and I am sure that I have the latest version. It fails right away but I can click on the cloud download icon and download the song that it failed on ... therefore it is not that song "or any one song" causing the issue. Any ideas?

  • Websites won't load properly

    Hi
After just fixing my wifi problem (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1345209) I am able to access the internet but I have a problems loading pages from some websites. The browser will say that I have loaded the page fully, but none of the flash, javascript, or backgrounds will load. Some pictures, but not most of them would load. The page is a white background with text and links and a couple small pictures. The text is a default font and only the links are a color other than black. Most sites will work, but a few big one's won't.
    Some sites that won't work:
youtube.com (This wasn't working and then it worked for about three days and now it's not working again. It worked on all of the other computers in the house, mac or windows.)
facebook.com (This won't load on any of the mac computers in the house, but will work on our windows laptop.)
    flickr.com
    Sites that do work:
    Google.com
    apple.com
    pretty much anything else.
This problem persists on both Firefox and Safari. I have tried restarting the computer, deleting the preference (.plist) files for both browsers, checking my firewall settings, and nothing has worked.
Does someone know what is wrong?
    Cameron

I still haven't resolved this problem. Here is some more information...
youtube is the only website that has started working, but it sometimes stops working again.
There are many other sites that don't work, cnn.com, washingtonpost.com (sometimes), and a lot of others.
I have contacted our internet service provider and they said that they had nothing to do with the problem.
Some websites will not work at all. Safari tells me that it can't find the server. Some that do this are ups.com, computerworld.com, and others.
I think that the problem is that, for some reason, our mac computers can't access certain servers where we are. (We are at a small ski resort (on the mountain) in Canada.) I think this because when a site doesn't load properly there are several errors and they are all "can't find host" errors from a couple of the same sites (ex. example.something.something).
*Also, I ran a test on speedtest.net on the laptop and one of our iMacs and the results were way faster than anything actually loads/downloads or than the activity monitor shows, even when checking the activity monitor at the same time as running the test.

  • Windows 7 won't load properly / possible HDD failure?

Well I will start off by saying I've been having problems with this since I've bought it.  It used to be under warranty and I had to ship it back twice, and I've had to do countless system recoveries but this time I'm at a loss.  My current problem started about 4 days ago.  I had skype downloaded, and my skype started freezing randomly, but only for 30 seconds to a minute, and then come right back to working.  Then this started happening more frequently, and then it got to the point to where it wasn't just skype that would freeze, it was my computer.  It must have only been explorer.exe that was freezing or something because my mouse still moved, and if I was in a skype call the skype call would work but I couldnt type or click on skype without it saying that it wasn't responding.  Then yesterday that problem upgraded again to nothing working very well.  My computer (again I can only assume it was explorer or something) would start up normally, and then once I got to my desktop the load light would come on my tower and freeze / slow down anything and everything.  Example was I had VLC media player open watching a show and the video would freeze for 2 to 5 minutes, play for 10 seconds, then freeze again.  Beforehand it was only slight lock ups, but then it became full blown lockups.  Once that load light came on it stayed on and never wavered and I would be forced to restart my computer to even give it a chance to run properly for a few minutes before this same problem would occur.  Yesterday however the problem upgraded once again, and my computer wouldn't even let me get to my desktop normally.  I was able to load into safemode with networking to try some solutions but nothing worked.  Then the hangup issue started occuring in safe mode as well, forcing me to restart again.  This is where it just keeps getting worse sadly.  My computer would get to the "Starting Windows" screen, sit there for a couple minutes, then maybe 1 out of 10 attempts it would get to the "Welcome" screen as if it was trying to load my desktop but never would load it, and on the other 9 attempts I didn't make it to the "Welcome" screen it just sat a black screen with the load light going and it would never do anything.  My mouse has never been frozen at any point so it's not a full on freeze situation, but something isn't right.  I did a sytem recovery last night, put it back once again to factory settings and it still locked up a little but nothing compared to how it had been.  I turned my pc off and went to sleep, and then this morning it did the usual not getting past the "starting windows" screen.  Sometimes it wouldn't even recognize my hard drive, giving me the old "insert media and boot from disc" or "No media found", I also got two errors, PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable, and the other message was PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM.   Then after receiving those messages my computer would restart and give me the choice to hit a button to load from disk.  Throught the course of this problem I tried startup repairs, smart tests, anti viruses, nothing did anything to help.  So I decided once again it was going to be time for a system recovery, but now when I hit f11 to go into the system recovery options, all of it is blacked out.  I can't even click on system recovery anymore.  So at this point Windows 7 won't load at all, not even in safe mode, and I'm lucky to even be given the OPTION to start it in safe mode.  Half of the time it seems my computer doesnt even recognize my harddrive, and I can't even do a system recovery or repair tools, but the repair tools didn't really do anything anyway.  So I have no way to use that computer, and Im thinking it might be HDD failure but I'm not hearing any noises coming from it and my computer has always been a little slow so it's not like things have slowed down by a lot so I'm not so sure its my HDD but I have no idea what to do or where to start since I've exhausted all my of resources on trying to fix this issue myself.  I know this problem is probably way too vague to try to get an accurate idea of what is wrong, but I will check back now and then and answer any questions to the best of my ability (I'm not tech savy so if you need really fancy PC information you wil most likely need to tell me how to acquire said information).  I mean I guess if I have to I will get a new HDD, but that means I will most likely need to get a new OS, and I love windows 7 with all my heart and I don't want to upgrade at windows 8.  I feel like it's my OS but it could very well be anything at this point.

  • Site won't load properly in IE

I've created a site that works perfectly in Firefox and
Safari, but not in IE. I'm not sure why, but some of the pages
aren't downloading properly (some won't load at all). I used
Dreamweaver to create a drop down menu, but don't know if that
    would cause the problem.
I'd be grateful if anybody could help. The site is at

Looks fine here in IE6. You may want to compress your images
    better as the
    page is quite heavy:

  • Facebook won't load properly. Takes forever and then I get a script page with log-in and then that takes forever and gives me further script that won't let me access anything. Other sites load and work OK!

Started after last auto update several days ago. A few other sites are slow to load while many are good but Facebook just won't present it's usual mix of pre-programmed scripts and links but comes up eventually as part HTML script with a log-in box and when you log-in it then takes forever again and just gives HTML type script for "Friends" "messages" etc. but if you click these it goes nowhere!
Also it won't let me clear history at all despite many tries. I removed and reloaded the program last night but no positive effect.

  • A Web site won't load properly in Firefox, but will in other browsers, and most other sites load normally in Firefox.

I have intermittent problems with a Web site not loading properly (rather than a gray background with pictures and clickable captions linking to news stories, a page consisting only of text and hyperlinks loads). The page loads normally in Internet Explorer. The problem with Firefox seems to be limited to this one site. I've previously reported it by clicking Help | Report broken Web sites. Thanks for any suggestions

I had this problem. I fixed it by right clicking on the website page and found I had inadvertently ticked "block images from this website". Uncheck this and it's fine!

  • My website won't load properly in FF but will in IE - tried solutions - didn't work

I have 2 websites (1 cloned from the other) that both worked well in FF - until about a month ago.
    www.drydiapersplus.ca
(landing page now loading properly in FF - but loads properly in IE) and www.drydiapersplus.com (loads properly)
When I try & open the .ca site - the left panel, top panel and right panel open up correctly - and the top text...but none of the images load up in the bottom 1/2 of the screen in the middle.
I've tried clearing cache, I've tried CNTRL F5 (hard refresh) - and none of it works.

''edited by a moderator to fix the first two hyperlinks - Ed''

Turns out, after much going back and forth (and having them read your response) - that there was an issue with the security certificate and how the images were all 'secure' images..... so - the host reinstalled the security certificate - or whatever it was they did (I'd complained about this a month ago to my web developer - and was told it was my computer - but when a customer started having the same issues - they looked into it more - and found out it was a security certificate issue).
Thank you for your help - because it was your information that got my web developer to get on the host and get it fixed. :-)

  • Is there a way I can disable images for just one specific website that won't load properly?

The website Epinions.com is not loading properly for me (since it went through an upgrade). Pages will begin to load and stop midway or only load a small amount. I'm getting frequent timeouts where pages entirely fail to load. I think one reason this is happening may be because the site is much more image heavy than it used to be. I would like to disable images on just that one site rather disabling all images in general. Is that possible? If so, how do I do it?

Try to update to Firefox 8 to see if that helps.

Ever since upgrading to 4, i have been having problems with images and site loading properly. I am also having problems with the digital certificates, too. I tried going back to an older version but i am still having these problems. I have removed add-ons and without any change, re-added them.

    Do a clean (re-)install:
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 4.0: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
    * Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    * It may not be necessary to create a new profile, so first try if it works with your current profile and if not then create a new profile.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br />
See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting&#58; Make a new profile]]
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

  • All photos won't load properly

Does anyone have problems uploading pictures? When I upload some pics work and some don't. The show on the website but the pic doesn't load. Every pic is the same format so I'm not sure why it likes some and not others. You can see what I mean by going to http://www.slaughterscustomshop.com/bumperz.asp
Can anyone help? Thank you so much.

Well according to the links to the images, all 3 images are linking to images inside the same folder yes.  When when I try and view the image on it's own by following the links I provided, it shows that the image isn't there.
The path to the images is showing that all images are inside a folder named images with another folder inside that named bumperz. But the browser is telling me that the images are not there - they won't load up when I try and view them directly.
The only issue I can see is that the 2nd image does have a space in the file name, that *could* be a problem - you shouldn't have spaces inside file or folder names for example.  However, that doesn't explain why the 2st picture isn't working.
If you are sure that you *have* uploaded *all* the images into the exact same folder on the server, then maybe the images are corrupted...  try uploading just those *2* specific images again and see what happens.

    Reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
    Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

  • Help!  iSync won't load properly!

I need some help with iSync. I've had this problem twice since my initial attempt at setting up Syncing through my Palm Treo650 and MissingSync / Palm Hotsync.
    Part I:
After my first install of Palm Hotsync, I was told by the installer to turn on Syncing in the iSync preferences. Immediately I go to open the program to set the required preference and iSync just bounces in the dock for a minute or two, followed by nothing at all. It won't crash, it won't reload, etc. My remedy to this (the first time) was to do an archive and install of 10.4.. I do so, which was fine (and well needed anyway).
    Part II:
With the fresh install, I first call Cingular for assistance, making sure i'm doing what THEY would expect someone with Mac OS to do for an install. Accompanying this call, they forward me directly to Palm, in which someone there helps me fully install the Palm software (while avoiding several errors and mishaps). Finally the hotsync works and everything is jolly. Now, second to this, I go an install MissingSync (the reason why I bought this $300 Treo was so that I could sync all of my contacts, etc. and MissingSync is the tool I was really looking to use). MissingSync installs, but then tells me AGAIN that I need to enable syncing through iSync and that the iCal and Address book and any other conduit which may sync through iSync is not working properly. So, yet again, I turn to iSync - it bounces in the dock for a minute or two, then nothing! But this time, it reads in the finder bar that iSync is open, however I cannot click on anything in the menu to gain working order. Oddly, if I click and hold on the iSync icon in the dock and then drag up and click to Sync, it opens a bar which reads "Syncing is not enabled, please enable in the prefs, etc..".. Which is my original goal - just being thrown in my face AGAIN.. Now, I gain access after that point to the menu bars in iSync, but the preference pane is not listed!!! SOMEONE HELP!!!
    Part II: (sub)
I called apple for assistance only to find that my 3 year apple care has expired and that you can't purchase a new one - only $50 per problem! NEVER have I ever been so ****** at apple! I love my powerbook and everything that apple makes, but that is AWFUL!

I guess that you either did not thoroughly read, or did not understand, the documentation which accompanies the Missing Sync for Palm OS. It clearly states that you must perform one final (which may also be your first) synchronization with iSync before installing, configuring and using the Missing Sync for Palm OS.
And, you were unfortunately misled by Palm representatives who insisted apparently that you install the latest available version of the Palm Desktop after installing—and without subsequently reinstalling—iSync.
    At this point, you should…
    • stop any attempt at performing any sort of synchronization
    • remove the Missing Sync for Palm OS using the Uninstaller provided by Mark/Space
    • reinstall, update or upgrade the Palm Desktop using this package, and be sure to read the instructions at the link before doing so:
    http://www.palm.com/us/support/macintosh/macdesk421revd.html
    • extract and install iSync 2 using Pacifist
    • apply the latest Mac OS X 10.4.x Combo update which matches your machine to update iSync to the latest version for that OS release. For Mac OS X 10.4.7 and a PowerBook, that is this package:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxupdate1047comboppc.html
You are still not ready to synchronize. You must now…
    • back up your contacts using the Back up Address Book option in the Address Book application
    • do the same for calendars using the Back up Database option in iCal
    • perform a last synchronization with the Palm Desktop (which may also be your first) if you want an archive of the data on your handheld. Do so by setting the applicable Palm conduits to Handheld overwrites Macintosh
    • open iSync and select the Enable Palm OS Syncing… option under the Devices menu
    • set the appropriate values in the iSync Preferences… dialog
    • perform an initial synchronization using iSync, preferably one in which you choose to overwrite the contents of your handheld, not merge data with it
    • perform a subsequent synchronization with iSync if the first is successful
    Now, you need to…
    • install the Missing Sync for Palm OS, understanding that you will no longer be able to use iSync to synchronize your Palm device, as this process removes both the HotSync Manager and Transport Monitor
    • set your Mark/Space Contacts, Events and Tasks conduits to overwrite your Treo just once
    • synchronize
From this point on, you will be able to synchronize your Treo successfully with the Address Book and iCal using the Missing Sync for Palm OS.
