CalConnect - Event Calendar survey

As a founding member of CalConnect â The Calendaring and Scheduling Consortium â Oracle is assisting with a study on the use of online event calendars within organizations and the need for more interoperability between them.

Thank you for your response. That does adequately cover the
client-originated sessions, but still leaves the ability I am
looking for unavailable.
It did serve to definitively answer my most pressing
question, however, with this statement:
Note: ColdFusion cannot create a session if an initiator
application uses a SendGatewayMessage method to start an
interaction with a client, such as an SMS user. In this case, the
sending code must keep track (for example, in a database) of the
messages it sends and their destinations. When a response event
arrives, it can look up the origniatorID to determine whether it
was in response to an outgoing message.
I will play around with the Application scope to see if there
might be a workable solution there.

Building a Web-based Event Calendar using VB in aspx 4.0

Technical Article back in 2000, written by Scott Semyan (July 2000) titled "Building a Web-based Event Calendar" detailed an example of how to create a simple event calendar in asp.
I am new to aspx .NET codind (using VB), and I have attempted to recode to the newer framework to no avail. Do you have an update of this article for ASPX 3.0 and up?
And if not, is there sample code for me to use to create a web-oage using aspx with vb in 4+?

I'll move this to off-topic since you've been correctly pointed to forums.asp.net. I just want to mention that whatever that article was demonstrating is probably irrelevant in today's web development ecosystem. For example, an event calendar
is likely to be its own web control that you can just drop onto a web form (or otherwise instantiate in a web page). I know of a couple retail components that can do it and there are probably free ones available too. Even if you build your own
it will likely be little more than an existing calendar control with perhaps some custom rendering code.

Changes in events calendar

Hello I download this event calendar.
I try to change starting week from Mondays by changing this: firstDay = firstDate.getDay() + 7;and retyping days in function createCalendar()
But after that is not green marked present day. It is but in 2009 year.
I try to change also this: firstDate = new Date(String(monthNum)+"/0/"+String(yearNum));but it is the same.
Could some one help me. How to change calendar to starting weeks from mondays and left marking present day?

Issue with syncing bblink calendar + group events calendar into outlook 2003

Had a BB Curve OS 7, and I was able to sync my default calendar AND my BBM groups calendars in one single sinc.
Now, I have the Q5 OS 10.2.1 and I can not find for the life of me, how to sync my device calendars (personal and BBM Group Events calendars) onto my pc using Outlook 2003.
Called my carrier and they don't even know what to tell me. Can someone point me in some direction please!
PS I would also accept a solution using a cloud calendar (Gmail, Outlook.com...) I just want ALL calendars to be visible from my PC with one combine calandar view.
2014-02-22 UPDATE: Just installed BBLink 1.2.3, same issue.... No solution yet!

The OS7 calendar sync ONLY sync's the default calendar. Unless you merged your BBM group calendar entries (you would have had to move them to the default calendar using a special, and little known, documented procedure) into your default calendar you couldn't have had the BBM group calendar sync'd.
Regardless, the BBM group calendars will not sync to Outlook in BB10.

PHP MySQL Event Calendar that's DW friendly

I've tried ExtCal 2.0 and I'm not satisfied. It's loaded with
features, but I want something that I can use my own page layout
template and drop in the calendar page code. DW can't preview
ExtCal pages properly in Design view to edit. I know PHP MySQL
reasonably well but I'm looking for something to automatically
generate the month/week/day views automatically. I'm rambling here
but anyone have any suggestions?

I have been looking for a replacement for the old InterAKT
calendar extension. Adobe killed it whwn the bought InterAKT. I
need an extenstion that will help me create an event calendar for
my CMS websites. Or, I have to keep a copy of MX 2004 around just
to edit those pages.
If anyone ever finds a good calendar extension for creating
dynamic event calendars, please let us all know!!

Creating an event calendar with Muse

I have a client that wants an events calendar.
We want to use MUSE to build this calendar and have it updateable by the project manager on the client side.
I followed some links to a Business Catalyst forum article that talks about this issue. I read it thoroughly, and logged into Business Catalyst as suggested in that post (see link here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5077545#5077545#5077545)
Once inside of Business Catalyst I got overwhelmed, and generally confused. I don't know which product does what, I don't know what I need and I don't know how any of it works.
For example, let's hypothetically imagine that I bought the "webMarketing" package at $18.88 USD / month. Will that allow me to place calendar modules onto pages inside of MUSE?
Ideally any upgrade via business catalyst will allow me to create blogs and calendars. I need to keep costs down and be able to give access to the client's marketing team to manage the calendar once we've finished with it.
Eventually the client will want to build a community forum - not sure if there is a business catalyst tool that will help us do that, but if so it's something we would like to be made aware of for the future.
Anyway, again: I am having a hard time figuring out what to do to get event calendar creation via MUSE.

I visited the muse site of the day and took alook at the events page. How was the events list crated, was it a new widget or add-on? Was this created using code, can I do the same on my

An Event Calendar

I need to work out an event calendar using Javascript. The calendar will allow the users to input in reminders. Upon date, there will be an email sent to the user as a reminder. OS is Windows, Database is MsSQL.
Is there any one who can help?

Using JSP, to be exact.Which has little or nothing to do with Javascript.
I store the date(to be reminded) in the database. Do I
store the whole date as a string, You could strore it as your database's version of a date or timestamp, then pull it out as a java.sql.Date. Or you could use a String, or whatever method you decide would be easier to take back out.
For me, I store the date split up, with month, day, year, then time_of_day. Then, I only poll the DB for the month and year when displaying a month's calendar, then poll month. year, and day when looking at a daily view. Finally, I poll the DB for the year if looking at a yearly view. This way, the DB connection takes the minimum amount of time (but needs to be done more often). An alternative is to get get all your events at once, then put them into a collection stored someplace (session or application) and pull the data out of the collection when necessary. The problem with this is that the DB call could take a long time, and the collection could end up taking a lot of memory.

date is up?You would have to build an external program that scans the DB, pulling the current date's events out and then sending the mail. You can check out javax.mail for info on mailing. This program should probably be a scheduled event on the Windows OS to run at specific times each day, rather than run all the time...

I am trying to sync my iCal with my school's events calendar.

I am trying to sync my iCal with my school's events calendar, but it's not showing all the athletic events that my school is having, although I believe it was a day or two ago. Now when I try to resubscribe with the school to reset it, it says I can't because I am already subscribed.

The iTunes source list is the column on the left hand side where Library is located to select Music, Movies, Podcasts, etc. and your iTunes playlists.

I have several event calendars on a webpage that are broken down by categories (IE: {module_calendar,48,c,94584} ). When I do this only the first calendar on the page will change dates. The other calendars won't change the date.
Is there a way to fix this? Is this intended behavior or a bug?
Note: I would provide the page but it is within a secure zone that charges a membership thus I cannot post access to it publicly.

Is the events calendar now showing past events?

Hi,
I am seeing events that have already happened in my events calendar, this causes issues cause the module list view doesn't output past events which breaks my JS.
I didn't think the calendar used to show past events, and can't find a toggle.

Is it possible to publish an event calendar as a portlet? I know I can do this with a users calendar, but I have not found a way to do it with an event calendar.

Officially this was never tested OR tried from what I can recall. You could try to use proxy authentication (see the posting I did about Application to Application authentication) and specify the event calendar unique id (much like you would specify a user calendar unique id) in the SOAP authentication header.
Perhaps this may work.
