Calculate last 5 months
How to calculate last 5 months from sysdate ?
The statement - SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE,'YYYYMM')-1 FROM DUAL gives 201300. The desired output is 201212, 201211, 201210, 201209, 201208.
Sanjay
Try this
select to_char(add_months(sysdate, -1), 'YYYYMM') from dual
union
select to_char(add_months(sysdate, -2), 'YYYYMM') from dual
union
select to_char(add_months(sysdate, -3), 'YYYYMM') from dual
union
select to_char(add_months(sysdate, -4), 'YYYYMM') from dual
union
select to_char(add_months(sysdate, -5), 'YYYYMM') from dual

How to Calculate last 12 months in webi?
Hi,
I am working on a webi report based on oracle. My report table does not have any month field in it. Hence, I created a derived table in the universe for 12 months. Now, in my report I need to calculate last 12 months data. The month and year value will be given by the user and from that date values will be displayed for previous 12 months on a chart.
Any ideas how achieve this in webi?
Regards,
C MiraHi,
Generally you can get the user values using the UserResponse() function.
Using this, you can do some basic transformation of the user values for month and year to create a "Year_month_user" variable - e.g. in the format YYYYMM or better yet - create a date variable!
(using the ToDate() function)
When this variable is created, you can create a similar variable "Year_month_unv" from the universe objects.
Then apply a custom filter on your chart with the syntax
=[Year_month_unv] Between([Year_month_user];RelativeDate([Year_month_user];-365))
I hope this helps.
Btw: my first forum post - Yes!

How to calculate the sales in the last month of last year
Hi all,
I have a requirement need to implement ,
the report has three columns,
MONTH----SALES----SALES2
201201----10------------100
201202----20------------100
201203----30------------100
201204----40------------100
201205----50------------100
The Sales2 is the sales of last month of last year, that is sales in 201112, value is 100.
How to realize this requirement ?
thank you in advance!!!sorry,
I think you maybe not understand my requirement.
What I want to implement as follow,
MONTH----SALES----SALES2
201201----10------------100 (This is 201112's Sales)
201202----20------------100 (This is 201112's Sales)
201203----30------------100 (This is 201112's Sales)
201204----40------------100 (This is 201112's Sales)
201205----50------------100 (This is 201112's Sales)
201206----60------------100 (This is 201112's Sales)
If I set SALES2 =AGO(SALES,MONTH, <number of period>)
how can I set <number of period> ?
201201 should mapping to 201112
201202 also mapping to 201112
201203 also mapping to 201112
201204 also mapping to 201112
201205 also mapping to 201112
201206 also mapping to 201112 -
Modelling "Last Month" figures in a Calculation View
I am trying to create a Calc View to provide data for a report which for every slice of data should show some "this month" and "last month" data. My approach so far is to have a (graphical) Calc View which does Union of "this month" data (referred further as M) with basically the same data set (let's call it M1) where I only replace calendar month with another "calmonth1" column (I'm on SPS02 which doesn't have addmonth function yet, so had to make a Join with a month lookup table here).
That approach works mostly fine -- I get the data for this and last month, and performance is reasonable. Except when I specifically filter the testing SQL query by Calendar Month: then the runtime jumps from 0.5 sec to 9 seconds!
I have been able to narrow the issue down to the Union statement, where my two data sets have different fields (M.calmonth and M1.calmonth1) united in the resulting field U.calmonth. So, I guess, when I apply the filter to the field U.calmonth (effectively), the system cannot derive the corresponding values of M1.calmonth1 to cascade the filter down to dataset M, and tries to extract everything into M1, then does the Union with M, then selects what's right.
The same thing actually happens with a Projection, which indicates the issue is not in Uniting results from two data sets but exactly with deriving "reversed selections".
I went through HANA manuals, and the only related hint there was to have a JOIN ALL on key fields instead of a Union. I'm keeping it as a last resort, as I want to avoid scripting due to high maintenance effort.
I would be grateful to hear about alternative designs. Thanks!Roman,
You can push down your current month and last month logic into Analytical view.
In Time Attribute view, create two claculated measure for calender month. You can build this using "NOW" function, left functions. Once you have current month create last month leveraging current month and casting (current month -1)
Once you have these two calculated attribute ready in your Time attribute view. Bring it to Analytical view and using "if then" function you can calculate measures for Current Month and Last Month.
This will improve performance as it avoids jumps between various engine.

Identifying same values that existed previously (last month)?
I am creating an OBIEE usage report and need help with a complex Column Formula.
I want to identify returning users, that logged in this month AND last month.
This logic might be something like:
CASE WHEN User ID exists in Current Month = User ID that existed in the Previous Month then 1 else 0
I have Month and User ID columns to work with in OBIEE Answers (no RPD access).
Any idea of how to right a formuala that will compare non-measure values from last month to this month?
Thanks!Roman,

Which Time variable should use compare this month with last month
We want to calculate the increaed number of employees according to one action reason e.g. Entry to company compare with last month. In this case we have to use time variable in BEx query designer. Now can see 0calmonth has serval variable available.
1) Should we use [0CMLMON] for last month and use offset for this month like [0CMLMON]-1 or [0CMLMON]+1 or use variable [0RSTTCM1], which variable should we use for this month and last month? Do we need to create variables by manually?
2) Then using calculated KF to calculate the increaed number of employees, is this logic correct? If it is wrong, please info.
Edited by: hi ni on Apr 22, 2008 7:58 AMHi,
For the comparison of last 2 months data, you can use two Restricted Key figures with reference to 0CALMONTH and it is better to use only customer exit variable for both RKF's.For the Last month use offset value as -1.

Dear Experts,
I want the following result. I have a date parameter. I want to
get the last / end date of the previous month
for any given date which the user inputs.
For ex:
If user puts the date 15.06.2008
then i want to get the previous month end date i.e. 31.05.2008.
The reason being i am creating a program for updating Opening and Closing Stocks of every month in a ZTABLE. The user will put the date in the parameter and system will bring the closing stock of previous month and then calculate for the current month.
I hope i am not complicating matters too much....
Basic funda is to arrive at the end date of the previous month for any date which the user puts.
Please help me... it is mission critical..
Thanks & Regards,
Jitesh M Nairhi,
use this to get last month end date.
ex:
data: d2 like sy-datum.
d2 = sy-datum.
d2+6(2) = '01'.
d2 = d2 - 1. "prev mnth last date
write:/ d2. -

My phone has been smashed I need to get records of all my iMessages and texts from the last month. How do I get these?
Do you have a backup of your iPhone which contains these messages?
If so, you can restore a new iPhone from that backup during setup.
If not, the messages are gone. -

£750 bill from Vodafone as iPhone sent 20GB last month, please help!
Hi
I have just received a shock data bill from vodafone. Apparently my iPhone has been using between 500 MB - 1GB a day for the last month.
I have had the phone for almost 18 months and cannot work out why this has suddenly happened. I have not downloaded a new app or changed my usage at all.
I checked the phone and it states that it has sent 20.7 GB of data, and received 1.7 since last reset (October).
I only use the phone for calls, texts, and social networking. I have wifi at home and barely use cellular data.
I contacted Vodafone as I wish to dispute the bill (I am happy to pay for what I have used, but I cannot see how I have used this!)
They state that if I can show it is a software issue, they will write off the £750. At first they suggested I send it to them and they would check if it was software or a fault, until they realised it was out of warranty, then they said they can't look at it unless I pay £150.
They suggested giving apple a call, but I looked on website and to call them will be £25 and I am not sure if it will resolve the issue.
What can I do? The phone is still on iOS 6.0, I realise the data issue could possibly be resolved by updating, but am reluctant to do this before the phone is checked out (if I can get apple to check it out). For the time being I have restricted all data to wifi.
Is it likely to be a fault/software issue? I have not sent any files anywhere etc. If I drive to my nearest apple store (at least an hour away) will they look at it/are they likely to help/admit it is software and give me some proof for vodafone?
Please help!!Contact the Apple store directly (or Verizon) as Apple (nor Verizon for that matter) monitor these forums.

I gave my ipad 2 to my brother last month. After that he erased all content and settings, sign in with his apple id. The next day until now, I found out that I can not udpate my apps both on my iPhone and iPad Air. I had create new apple id, change my password, delete the icloud acc. But still I can not update my apps. I have many of red notifications on iPhone and iPad Air. What should I do? Thank you in advance.
1. It is never a good idea to include personal info like your email address or Apple ID in a post on an open forum.
2. The email you received DOES NOT say your Apple ID cannot be used to unlock this iPad. The email informs you that your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad. Fortunately the iPad is yours. The message confirms that. If your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad that was not yours your would then know to change your password. Since the iPad is yours you do not need to change your password.
Is your iPad working? -
For the last month or so my icloud won't back up, it keeps telling me that there is too much storage and I need to delete some data. But I have deleted between 3-400 photos and it is still saying the same, can anyone please help
If they were deleted from your camera roll that should have resulted in a corresponding decrease in the estimated size of your next backup.
If it's still saying that you don't have enough storage to back up, read through this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847. It provides some suggestions for reducing your iCloud storage, such as deleting unneeded email.
The other area to look at is your text messages. These are included in the backup. If you have lots of photos and videos attached to your messages, that can significantly increase the size of your backup. If that's the case, deleting these may make a big difference. -
Can I ask for a replace meant of iMac since yjere is a failure of one part every month. Last month lcd replied now optical drive.
Imac 27".
i do not like the idea of repairing every month.
Feel the imacs supplied to India are sub standard onesFolks have reported that the Apple policy is three major component failures and the Mac is replaced. For the first two the Mac is repaired. Apple would not risk alienating its customers from one of the most populated nations in the world, so its time to stop the "discriminating against the poor Indians and selling us sub-standard Macs" routine. Occasionally the universe aligns just right for there to be a Mac lemon. Folks in every country have experienced lemons. It is the hazard of manufacturing millions of Macs with even more millions of parts, all produced by different parts suppliers. And it is why the manufacturer's warranty exists.
Speak to the vender about a replacement. If necessary call Apple Care and request that your warranty service call be escalated to Customer Relations. Politely, but firmly, explain the situation and stand your ground that the solution to make you a happy customer is to have the Mac replaced. Don't make threats, mention lawyers or claim that Apple discriminates against Indians. If you do, you will have lost your case and Apple will then work with you from a distance and follow it policies and procedures to the letter, regardless of whether it makes you happy. -
