Hi,
If you select the ASC format, then the Data will convert to ASCII format then transfers the data through the data communication.
Already you got the answer for .dat is for binary format.
I did it practically and i am givining answer.
If u still not satisfied with this answer,pl get back to me.
Reward points are usefull.
Thanks,
Sandhya.

Preference calculation with batch management
Hi experts,
I am trying to find any documentation or manuals about how to set-up and use preference calculation in SAP-SD-FT or GTS based on batch management.
Does anyone of you know how to do it and use such kind of "standard"-SAP-solution or is customer-specific programming essential.
Any reply would be much appreciated.
Best regards,
CorinneHi Corinne,
Did you get anything for your requirement specific to Preference calculation with batch management. I am also looking for the same. let me know if you found something useful or if you created an enhancement to resolve this issue.

Automatic calculation for batch characteristic
Conversion factor is a batch characteristic which is to be calculated based on the other batch characteristics values entered by the user at the time of confirmation.
I have maintained the objectdependency in the batch class (023). The dependency type maintained is "Procedure". The batch class is assigned to material master. The formula is as follows
$self.conversionfactor=((($self.actthickness-0.067)*$self.density)
($self.paintgsm$self.metalgsm))*$self.width/1000
The formula is appearing in 2 lines in the dependency editor. There is no syntax error. As well as the dependency status is also "released".
But at the time of confirmation, if the values of the other characteristics are entered, no calculation for the characteristic conversion factor is done by the system.
Can anybody please guide on this???

Need Active Ingredient table field & its calculation from batch chars
Hi All,
Creating a report where Active Ingredient(AI) table field is needed. Further per batch AI content need to be determined based on AI characteristics in batch & planned value of AI in material master for a material. Please help me in finding out the table & its field for AI uom & value of AI chars in batch & in material master. I checked in table "AUSP" but value of AI is coming as blank in this table.
Thanks in advance,

If statement in calculated batch characteristic (dependencies)
I have a little problem with calculating a certain batch characteristic.
The situation is the following:
I have batch char A, batch char B and batch char C. Batch char C is the result of the sommation of char A and B. The problem I have now is that batch char C only should be calculated when batch char A and B are different from 0.
I have a custom build interface that imports QM data to the batch chars. Default, all my batch chars are set to 0 so if I just say $self.charC = $self.charA + $self.charB, I always get a value.
Is it possible to some sort of IF statement to check if the value is different from 0?Dear,
You need to try with variant table
take all the combination and enter in a variant table and see the result...it works
example
A B C
0 0 space
0 1 sapce
1 1 space
I hope you got it -

Batch Determination with WM manual staging
Hello,
I found documentation that suggest to use Pick parts when using batch determination with WM in transfer orders. However will/can determination be used with Manually staged components inducator 4?
Thank youHi!
I am trying to get batched with shelf life larger than 370.
We are in ECC6.0 and the note applies to releases up to 4.5. I read the note and also tried it but the characteristic does not take a range; only a numberic value. For => 370 I get an error. The date for SLED calculated for batch determination (from the batch determination analysis for a test) as shown below:
Characteristic Name Characteristic value
LOBM_ZUSTD Status of Batch Released
LOBM_LVORM Deletion Ind. for Batches Not Set
LOBM_RLZ Remaining Shelf Life for Batc 370 d
LOBM_MBDAT Material Availability Date 07/17/2008
LOBM_LFDAT Batch Determin. Delivery Date 07/30/2008
LOBM_VFDAT Expiration date, shelf life 08/04/2009
I wonder if the problem is that the operator does not seem to appear in this criteria for the calculated LOBM_VFDAT?
Thank you -
Sequence of steps n Material quantity calculation functionality
Hi, Pls advise the sequence of steps involved in MQC functionality in Master Recipe? Thank You.
Hi Raju,
Below are the steps you can explore.
1. Assign Classification to component if you are using any batch classification values for calculation of other components. This you can do it in BOM section of Master recipe.
2. Now goto calculation tab for the component of which quantity calculation is required.
3. In this screen you can see the characteristic assigned for calculation in batch classification as per step 1.
4. You can insert simple calculation formula using reference of these cells. The reference is simple like the references we have in excel. For example (001; 002) this given you value in 1st column & 2nd row.
5. At the time of batch determination or quantity change in Process order please make sure to click on Calculation tab & then save. This is required to get the quantity calculated as per formula.
Hope this will help you.
Please let us know the industry you are working in. This will help all to help you better.

Dear friends
The requirement is
Scenario:
The selling price of the product is based on the MRP that is reverse calculation; we need to handle one issue. When the MRP price of the packet change the selling also changes
Here the issue is, when the system picks up the old stock i.e. with old batch of old MRP that time the system should consider the old rate. For that I am maintaining the price with customer/ Material / batch, above the required condition
The system is not calculating the batch price since in invoice the batch is not getting triggered
The requirement
The old material will be maintained with batch combination
In invoice if the material has picked up two batches and there is price difference then in invoice it should split into two line item, otherwise it should maintain the same line item
If they maintain two different line items then it should be two different line item in the invoice
RegardsDear
as per my understanding the Batch is decided at the time of delivery only.
for the batches determied in at delivery the Pricing should be at delivery not at the sales order level.
at sales order the Pricing will not be determined it will be determined at the delivery level.
path for setting price at delivery level is.
SPRO - >logistic execution->basic shipping function -> Pricing.
set up pricing here ur all requirment will be met.
here the manual condition will not be transferred to Billin so please use all the Pricing by Condition records only.

Material quantity calculation to be done upto a limit
Dear PP experts,
I am using material quantity calculation for acitve ingredients. The quantity of API should be calculated as per the assay recorded in inspection lot. But the additional requirement is that the API quantity should be calculated after batch determination only if the assay recorded is 99 % or below 99 %. If the assay recorded against inspection lot is more than 99 % the API quantity should remain the same.
Pl. suggest how to proceed.
Thanks,
PrashantDear Prashant
If you can post this question in PP forum, may be you can get lot of suggestions.
thanks

Hi All PP Gurus,
Scenario from production client:
Issue:
For process order number 6300355; material code 15010163 the assay calculation is not correct.
Process in use:
Process order is created through tcode COR1 and Transaction code ZACOR2 is used for update of requirement quantity, i.e. assay calculation. The quantity calculated against batch no. 0001004480 is not correct. The correct value is 14.013.
can u please help me regarding this issue?????your question looks to be very vague as you are giving order no/material no/ batch no which no member can view. explain more detail about your scenario and issue so that somebody may try to help. sorry for putting my view in direct manner.
Thanks

All,
Is it better to have a sparse store member and calculating in Calcscript/Rule or sparse dynmic calc member with formula?
Thank YouHere's a little background on why sparse dynamic calcs can sometimes (but not always) be bad for retrieval performance:
- Essbase stores data in one of two types of files - the Index file and the Page file. (there can be many of each type of file, depending on how much data is stored in your cube)
- The index file stores all of the combinations of sparse members (where there is data). Think of each sparse dimension as a column in the index file.
- The page file contains "blocks" that are made up of your dense dimension members. Each "cell" in a block is 8 bytes. (a cell being a single combination of members from each dense dimension)
- Each row in your index file points to one and only one block. (this is why you need one member from every dimension to get to a data value)
So let's say we have three members in one of our sparse dimensions. For the sake of simplicity, let's say this is the only sparse dimension in the cube.
- Member "A" is stored.
- Member "B" is stored.
- Member "C" is a dynamic calc equal to "A" - "B".
Question - if you retrieve on member "C", how many blocks does Essbase have to pull into memory? 2 (the blocks for A and B), plus it has to create a block in memory for member "C". (at least I think it creates a block in memory . . . . ) Either way, that's a lot of I/O, relatively speaking.
If "C" were calculated in batch and stored, the same retrievel would only have to pull a single block into memory - the stored block for C. This is less I/O.
So why are some dynamic sparse calcs bad and others aren't? It all comes down to how many blocks the retrieval forces Essbase to pull into memory. (FYI this "memory" is really your database caches)
This is why sparse dynamic calcs like variance scenarios are common. A sparse dynamic calc that compares Actual to Budget doesn't pull a lot of blocks into memory. However, if you set a sparse parent to be dynamic, and it had 100 children, this would be pretty bad for performance.
If you can visualize this concept, you can performance tune a BSO cube. It's all about I/O.
Hope this helps,
- Jake -
Dear Experts,
Can we use ingredient specification calculation in batch for by product because by product is producing so its with -ve sign. no batch determination takes place in process order. and that qty takes according to BOM not according to batch specific characteristics.
if i want to produce by product on the basis on second raw material's batch specification. how could i do that?
Regards
PravinYes, U can use the Base UOM in MQC.
Further while processing the Process order, you need to go to MQC screen after assgining the relevant batches,
do the Clauclation and update the process order.
Then only the By-product value changes with the Batch chracteristic value.

Sequence of steps, certificate authentication
Hi everybody.
Please consder the following example:
R1---------------------CA-------------------------R2
Both R! and R2 have been issued certificates by CA in above example.
Let say R2 wants to authenticate itself to R1 therefore R2 sends its certificate to R1.
Two questions need to be answered.
1) R1 must be able to determine R2 is indeed R2 by varying R2 certificate.
2) R1 next must determine R2 is indeed allowed to talk to R1
1)Let focus on 1. What are the sequence of steps R1 take to determine R2 is indeed R2 by varying its certificate?
Let suppose R1 varifies R2 is indeed R2 by varyfing its certifcate. Next R1 must determine R2 is allowed to commuincate with R1.
2)How does R1 accomplish that ?
Thanks and have a great weekend.Hi Raju,
