Calculations not updating in fillable PDF

I have a fillable PDF with columns of numbers requiring totals. The sum function works but if I then change one of the numbers in the column, the total does not update unless I also change another field (for example, a description field or some other field that seems to refresh the calculation). Is this a bug and is there any way to force a refresh to avoid having to manually prompt the form to update the sum?
Thanks!

OK. I see the option now, but it lists all of the calculations in the entire form. My problem is that once all of the form data is entered and then the user changes a value, the sum is not updated automatically. Hope I'm explaining this properly..

  • Vertical slider position not updated while displaying .pdfs with Adobe Reader X

When a .pdf file is opened inside Firefox 4 (beta/RC1), the vertical slider position does not update while scrolling through the document until the mouse cursor is moved to the slider bar (then the slider immediately jumps to the right place).
I am using Adobe Reader X.

Here is a URL that will not save in Reader X:
    http://samplepdf.com/sample.pdf?meaningless=1234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456 789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456 789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456 7890/&blah=blah.pdf
However, if the last slash is removed or encoded as %2f (which should not be necessary, as it appears in the query portion of the URL), there is no problem.

  • Selectable map not saved in fillable PDF form file

Hi all, I have a problem with a document (it's a book for children) which has been created using InDesign CS6 on Macintosh. I need to make a fillable form (which is not a problem) and I have applied the "Extended Features for Acrobat Reader". I guess the client uses Acrobat Reader for Windows.
The problem comes when the client asks me to include a map where the pupils can select the countries, and that I have solved using buttons that show/hide these countries. It works fine, but when the client fills the form and saves the document, the map doesn't save the selected fields.
How can I make it work properly? I also tried creating a "SAVE MAP" button, but unfortunately, Acrobat only applies this feature to the current state when I create the document, NOT when the client clicks on this "SAVE MAP" button. Is there another solution, please?
And there's still more... In another page, the pupils must select 5 words, and the problem remains the same... the selected fields are not saved.
    I hope I've explained myself correctly, I know it's a bit confusing.
    Thanks in advance!!

If you will be adding up the mileage reimbursement amounts you might need to round the result of the calculation to 2 decimal places and that will require a custom JavaScript calculation. Using unrounded values can result with an answer that does not add up to the displayed value.
Using the simplified field notation also requires that field names meet a very specific format. The field names need to start with an alphabetic character and it cannot have any white space character in the name unless some additional coding is done. These restrictions are a result of processing the formula string with JavaScript and how the data string is parsed for processing.

  • TOC not updating when creating PDF from Robo9

I have not really created PDFs from Robo before, so I might be missing something basic. I am trying to create Word and PDF documents from my Robo9 project. My problem is that some of my topics are not being generated, in either the Word output or the PDF output. The topics are indeed part of the TOC in the Robo project, but they are not part of the TOC in the Word and PDF output. The strange thing is, all of the TOC books make the conversion, but the one book I am having the issue with includes one topic, but all of the other topics in that book do not get converted. I tried recreating the TOC, and it still does the same thing. It's almost like the printed documentation generation is ignoring any new changes to the TOC, as it's the same every time no matter what I change. I tried making some changes to topics that are generated, and I can indeed see the changes in the printed output docs.
Anything glaring I am missing, or should try? Thanks.
    Mark

    Likely a common misunderstanding.
The first time you create printed documentation, the topics are based on the TOC. Thereafter there is no link.
When you add new topics to the project, they are not automatically in any of the TOCs. You have to add them to each TOC. It's the same with print, you have to add them in the print layout.
Easiest way is to simply use the double left chevrons to remove the topics in the print layout and then use the double right chevron to back in, the difference being it will add all the topics in the TOC and as you added the new topics there, they will be in the print layout.
There's more in Printed Documentation on my site.

  • Date not updated in PDF

    Hi,
I am using AdobeInteractiveForm in Web Dynpro for Java. Method used is updateDataInPDF.
Scenario is like this : When user clicks on one button in Web Dynpro view, some of the fields in PDF document displayed in view should be updated and email should be sent to the user with PDF as attachment.
Problem: Email is getting sent to the user, but fields are not updated in the PDF document sent as attachment.
Page is refreshed only after processing is done (i.e, email is sent) and then all the fields are updated in PDF document displayed on view.
Can I refresh PDF programmatically, so that all the data in context nodes is updated in PDF (binary file) , and email sent to user contains updated fields?

  • How do I update the background art of a fillable pdf

How do I update the background art or type of a fillable pdf without having to redo the fillable form fields in the portion of the form that remain the same?

Create a new PDF with the updates. Open the old one and use Document>Replace pages. That will replace the background while leaving the current form fields intact.

Obviously your download was not successful.

  • Acrobat v9.4.6 Update does not update Firefox v3.6 Adobe PDF Plug-In

I have Acrobat Pro v9.4.6.252 and I havd used the Repair Acrobat Installation option but I notice that Firefox v3.6.22 and now Firefox v3.6.23 is still using Adobe Acrobat PDF Plug-In v9.4.5.236.  Should the repair Acrobat installation of Acrobat Pro not update the Firefox Plug-Ins as well?
Just curious if anyone else noticed this as well.
    Thanks.

  • Can I create calculated fields using formscentral on a locally created, fillable PDF form?  If so, how?

I am using Acrobat XI Pro to build a fillable PDF form that can be used by customer who have Adobe Reader installed.  I would like to create calculated fields, including the summation of two or more currency fields and the product of a currency and number field.  The procedure for creating these escapes me.  Does anyone have any insight?

    Hi Gilad,
thankyou! - yes it seems though I was using the text tool when I had this problem: When I had created a few fields in the 'form edit' mode I then may later have added some normal 'comment' fields of text in the normal mode to highlight certain aspects on a form - I used the text tool thinking that was the right way in to add or edit text - I can now see I double click with the hand tool to still be able to access any text field I want to. Yay!
Many thanks for your kind assistance - I shall try this method later on a new form I was trying to create and which was giving me grief.
One last thing then: what is that default text field that can't be deleted actually for - why is it there? After all, a 'blank pdf' should surely be a truly blank pdf? Perhaps this is one for mighty Adobe....?
    Kind Regards,
    Pete

  • Printing a fillable .pdf originally created in Forms Central, but not submitted properly?

    HELP!
I created a scholarship application for High School Seniors, but most of them found the submit button didn't work for them, so they just saved and attached the fillable .pdf to an e-mail.  So, now I have these .pdf files that because they were created in Forms Central, cannot be uploaded to Forms Central for data manipulation.   Also, it seems I an unable to easily print these files with the filled sections visible.  I also tried converting them to .docx and .xlsx, but the filled data didn't convert.   I need to distribute these applications to my committee somehow for voting!   If I can't print them, nor can I distribute them through Forms Central... what can I do???

This FAQ explains why the Submit button may not work.
    http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-2653
They need to be filled out using Adobe Reader. The students filled them out with a PDF Reader that doesn't properly support PDF forms.
Do you have Adobe Acrobat? If you open those forms in Adobe Acrobat and do a save as it will fix the issue.

  • Fillable PDF will not scroll to 2nd page

I have a 4 page fillable PDF.  The 2nd two pages are exact duplicates of the 1st two pages, and not needed.  When I delete the 2nd two pages, and "save as" the file, it works fine until I close the document.  Once I close and re-open the document, it will not go past the third or fourth line on the 2nd page before automatically going back to the top of the form.
This is not a form I created, and the person who created it is no longer here.  Could there be some type of setting that is making this happen?
I am working in Adobe Acrobat 9, if that matters.

Thank you!!!  That was it!  Form is working perfect now!
    Thanks again!!

  • Fillable PDF's-can send but not receive

I recently scanned documents into Acrobat Pro XI and converted them to fillable PDF's.  When I send the file out to others, they are able to open & fill in the form, but not save and send it back to me.
    Any suggestions?

  • Can a forms central generated fillable PDF be updated and submitted multiple times?

I am creating a set of forms to support a client's workflow.  One of the forms is a budget worksheet, showing budgeted amount and actual amount.  Since a previous form submission can't be accessed and updated, I was conidering using a fillable PDF.  I understand that the previous submission can't be updated, but can the form be resubmitted, creating a new row in the database?

Yes, the form can be submitted over and over again. Each submission will be a new row in the Response table.

  • Adobeforms (pdf is not abre with fillable = ' x')

    Hello!!
I am making a Adobeforms and I have the following problem: I have made a Adobeforms interactive (a Matchcode and all Ok can be introduced texts, be deplegar) the subject that when to quier to make keep like from the pdf when through program him step SFPDOCPARAMS-FILLABLE = X does not load the form to me.
                 It gives the error me:
    Exception SYSTEM_ERROR YOU GO message:
                      FPRUNX Nº message: 001
Message: Services documents Adobe: com.adobe. Processing Exception: Could not retrieve (2
FILLABLE = X (intercativo Form c/derechos use additional)
FILLABLE = N (intercativo Form s/derechos use additional)
FILLABLE = ' ' (Form of impression (normal Impression)
If him step FILLABLE = ' ' Ok. If him step FILLABLE = ' N' Ok works. (It lets to Me publish Adobe but not to keep the changes in the pdf, lets them to me print, only works Ok) If him step FILLABLE = X, gives an error me and Adobe is not loaded (It is option would have to remove Adobe, to let me publish it and when doing To keep Like, to keep the changes). From my computer I have entered another client who has adobes, I have debugado and him step the same parameters and works Ok. Thus it seems that it is not problem of my Sapgui, nor of Adobe LiveCycle Designer, also I have watched the properties of the form and estan exactly equal. It makes the dot of being something of the configuration of Sap but that way I do not have nor ideau2026
It sounds to you that it can be?
    THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

    Hi isdisuser,
I agree with Robert "interactive" licenses are extra. By the way are you facing this error :
    adobe.processingException:com.Adobe.processin(200101)
The above refers to Adobe credential not being configured for interactive forms.
Please check by executing the program FP_TEST_IA_01. If the form is displayed correctly then Reader Rights credential is installed and configured properly.
Otherwise you need to obtain the Reader Rights Credential config see SAP Note 736902.
    Other programs :
    FP_TEST_00 - ADS configuration
FP_PDF_TEST_00 - RFC connection to ADS
    Hope this info helps.

  • It seems like Illustrator may not consistantly be updating the embedded pdf file when we re-save..........

It seems like Illustrator may not consistently be updating the embedded pdf file when re-saving, even if the embedded illustrator file does. We are seeing a number of issues which seem to suggest this is going on..... I have a file I might be able to share with adobe's developers to really look at this problem. In short this file does not have a client change when viewed in reader or output through Photoshop image processor to generate raster copies, yet when we open the file we see the client changes. I would expect this to be a huge issue..... I have told my team to perform a save-as from now on to avoid what I think is going on-it seems to work.....
We are using Illustrator  CS5.5 (15.1.0)

    Hi,
I think your pdf file is probably damaged. There is a tool called Advanced PDF Repair. I have used it to repair many corrupt PDF files successfully. Its homepage is http://www.datanumen.com/apdfr/  Maybe you can have a try.
