Calculator app not working in latest installed windows 10 enterprise technical preview

I am not able to start calculator. I tried to  run using "calc" command as well as from app menu. But its not getting executed.
Please suggest solution for this. Is this for all ?

Same here, seems to be with a large number of W10TP users (see Windows Feedback).  The calculator was reportedly redesigned for Build 9926 so this looks like a pretty significant bug.  I installed a 3rd party calculator app from the Windows Store.
You can't unpin or uninstall the stock calculator icon from Start menu so I just ignore it.

I have attempted a clean install booting from a burned dvd with the iso file on it using the windows 7 USB/DVD download tool, Ive attempted to boot from a usb using rufus. Ive even attempted to just run as administrator right from the download
    the setup file.
Installing via USB windows 10 opens the language screen but everything on my screen is distorted, ive tried to change my screen resolution to fix this. it did not work.  Once I managed to click my way to the next screen but windows 10 asked me
for a driver to be installed and I have no idea what driver that could be.
Installed via DVD and direct setup file windows 10 opens to the making sure your pc is updated.. then it downloads and says its installing. at the moment it finished installing and restarts the next screen is black and the windows wheel starts turning
it freezes.. about every minute to five minutes it will turn a bit more.. I left my pc in this state for a full 24hours without touching it and it never finished installing.
I have tried several different builds. I even downloaded bluestacks and ran windows 10 enterprise technical preview as a virtual and I was successful doing it this way but Ive already tested windows 10 on two other desktops and a laptop of mine and im ready
to make the switch. this is my last desktop to run windows 10 and its giving me a hard time.
can someone please help me figure this out

    Hi Metro1952,
I found the following link indicates that there is no official driver designed for Windows 8 or later:
Compaq Presario Media Center SR2034NX Desktop PC
    http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/Compaq-Presario-SR2000-Desktop-PC-series/3239110/model/3250934
So, there might be a compatibility issue.
Again, to prepare the USB installation, you need ensure that you boot from the USB device, I suggest you make a clean USB boot drive by using diskpart:
     DISKPART> list disk
DISKPART> select disk x (x is the USB drive letter)
    DISKPART> clean
    DISKPART> create partition primary
    DISKPART> select partition 1
    DISKPART> active
    DISKPART> format FS=NTFS QUICK
    DISKPART> assign
    DISKPART> exit
Then copy the all installation files to the root of the USB drive:

  • How Do I Convert Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview to Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview and Back Without Reinstalling Windows?

    Howdy,
Much like in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, Windows 10 provides you with experience that allows you to convert your Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview to Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview without having to reinstall Windows.
Why would I need converting my Windows SKU (edition)
Currently, you may need this to fix issues with Windows not synchronizing browser favorites between different editions. For example, if you're using Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview in a test environment at work and Windows 10 Pro Technical
Preview at home, you won't see favorites added on Enterprise edition at home and vice versa. All the links added on Pro edition while browsing web at home won't appear on your work PC.
To convert Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview to Windows 10
    Enterprise Technical Preview:
    1. Press WindowsKey+PauseBreak and select Add Windows Features at the bottom left corner of System window.
    2. In the Add features to <OSName> window click to add Product key and type in the
public product key for Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview available here.
Voila! Your Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview is now converted to Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview.
To convert Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview to Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview:
Following the above procedure does NOT reveal Add features to Windows 10 link button in System window.
We could try doing this through DISM tool.
    1. Press WindowsKey+X and select Windows PowerShell (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
    2. At the command prompt type dism /online /Get-CurrentEdition to obtain information about the current edition of Windows:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> dism /online /Get-CurrentEdition
Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
    Version: 10.0.9926.0
    Image Version: 10.0.9926.0
    Current edition is:
    Current Edition : Enterprise
    The operation completed successfully.
    PS C:\Windows\system32>
    3. Check which versions you may switch to:
    PS C:\Windows\system32> dism /online /Get-TargetEditions
Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
    Version: 10.0.9926.0
    Image Version: 10.0.9926.0
Editions that can be upgraded to:
(The current edition cannot be upgraded to any target editions.)
    The operation completed successfully.
Looks like Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview cannot be downgraded.
To downgrade edition from Enterprise to Pro, you can trick Windows setup into thinking it is running on Pro by going to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion and changing the following keys:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion]
    "EditionID"="Enterprise"
    "ProductName"="Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview"
I believe for Pro edition this must be
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion]
    "EditionID"="Professional"
    "ProductName"="Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview"
After that you may run in-place upgrade using Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview Setup disc.
Note, if you can't find the Add features to option in Control panel, press Windows Key + R and type control /name Microsoft.WindowsAnytimeUpgrade.
If you want to, you could change Windows edition via DISM servicing tool by running:
    DISM /online /Set-Edition:Enterprise /ProductKey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX /AcceptEula
In case you can't access official page for
Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview download, or the page that contains
product key for Windows 10 Pro Technical Preview, you can always obtain the product key by looking for
F:\sources\pid.txt on the Windows Setup disc.

  • Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview - Search Options?

I am running a 64bit version of the Enterprise Technical Preview.
When clicking on the new Search button, a sidebar with "Trending Now" appears.  Is there any way to turn this off?   Having pictures of Justin Bieber and the latest California murder news isn't really appropriate for a business environment.
    TIA!

In the search box type Search Settings, click on the Search Settings icon when it appears, then under Metered Connections move both sliders to the left (off).

The only suggestion I can offer regarding the notebook not running so good is to download and install the amd chipset drivers from the link below and reboot.

  • Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview

Windows update not completing (0x800705b4), Start button not working correctly cannot left click (I can right click). Also Cortana not working. Please help.

    Hi saigon53,
    0x800705b4
ERROR_TIMEOUT This operation returned because the timeout period expired.
This may occur during download phase if the network has some issue. I would suggest retry to see if it could finish.
if this does not work, try the troubleshooter:
Cortana is only available for U.S.-English in the current build, though search will work in all languages. So please confirm your region and location is English.
For the start menu issue, I suggest you install the all latest updates, many known issues are fixed by the updates.

  • Mail app not working after upgrading to Windows 10

Hi The mail app is no longer working after I updated to Windows 10. When I open the app I can see the folders and the list o emails, but I can't do anything. It doesn't matter what I click on, nothing happens. Does anyone know how to fix this? Kind regards Joey

one more thing. I was not able to download cleanup tool/online scanner too. but may be it has something to do with my internet bandwidth. and other strange thing i observed is that before restart i was not even able to turn off all security features. but after restart that problem seems to be corrected.

  • Keyboard and mouse not working correctly after installing Windows 8.1

I was forced to upgrade my computer to Windows 8.1. My keyboard worked fine until the sytem did a reboot. Numbers on keypad stopped typing and letters were being capitalized when the caps lock was off and the numbers across the top will only type the symbol above the numbers.
I looked up this problem and it seems I need to enter UEFI settings and disable Intel XHCI mode. When I get into the UEFI settings I cannot make any selection from the startup menu. Both my keyboard and mouse stop working.
    Any suggestions?

It doesn't appear that you can do this in the current release. I tried switching to using the Start page, rather than the Start menu and IE still opens in desktop mode.
Keep in mind that we're still early in the process and that IE12 is not included in this build so things are likely to change.
If you haven't already done so, please use the built-in feedback tool to report this.

  • Hyper-v Client in Win10 Enterprise Technical Preview does not boot to PXE via Leagacy Network Adapter after OS is installed using gen 1 BIOS

Using Hyper-v within Windows 10 Enterprise Technical Preview to boot a Win 7  Legacy BIOS (Generation 1) Operating system client does not boot to PXE legacy network adapter after operating system has been installed within the Virtual Client.
Hyper-v Client will boot to PXE Legacy Network Adapter only when no other boot device is available and no OS is installed.
Hyper-V settings seem to ignore BIOS - Startup order within Hyper-V Client Settings and will always boot to VHD before Legacy Network Adapter even if Legacy Network adapter is first in the startup list.
IF VHD is deleted and a new VHD added to the Client then will boot to PXE using Legacy Network Adapter. Again once OS is installed then will not boot to PXE Legacy Network Adapater.
Gen 2 BIOS/UEFI works as expected and boots to PXE network everytime.

All of a sudden, Adobe Flash is not working. Have installed the latest version to no avail. This happened at the same time on four (4) computers! Any suggestions?

Well, I kinda figured that was true, so I disabled it. Firefox does not lock up now. I suspect it might be a Google Finance page graph that is causing the problem, rather that Flash. Thanks for all your help. J

After hibernation in the Windows 10 do not work with three fingers gestures:

We had the same problem of wi-fi not appearing at all in network connections, with a newly bought Lenovo Yoga 2 13 with Realtek wireless just upgraded to Windows 10, and after a lot of tinkering managed to get it working. We did three things at the same time, which between them fixed it:1. Installed the Intel Chipset drivers for Windows 10 (from Lenovo's support site)2. Did a HARD/FULL SHUTDOWN (hold SHIFT when clicking shutdown), bypassing Windows fast hybrid shutdown.3. Accessed the BIOS, turned Wi-Fi setting in the BIOS off and on and saved settings (there's a button on the side to access the BIOS) I suspect the combination of 1 and 2 fixed it (with the FULL shutdown being key!), because I can't see just accessing the BIOS doing much, but thought I would list all 3 just in case! Sorry for not being more specific, but I hope this helps someone!
