Calculator application disappeared!

Hi, i have a 2 mth old nokia 6233.
I just realised that my calculator application (which I use very often) is missing, can no longer find it under 'menu..organiser..'. It also disappeared from my 'go to' shortcuts. Other applications like alarm clock and stopwatch are still present. Did I accidentally delete it and is it possible to do so? Didn't do anything special on the phone recently other than surfing gprs for soccer results...
Will a firmware upgrade at a tech support outlet restore the application? Will my msgs and pics disappear?
Thanks to anyone who can answer my queries...

I don't have a 6233, but if the calculator app was a Java program, it might very well be uninstallable.
A firmware update will remove anything in phone memory. Anything on a memory card should be safe (but I'd take it out when leaving a phone to be updated).
Use, e.g., Nokia PC Suite to back up or copy everything you wish to save to a PC.
A firmware update should restore the calculator app.
You can also try to do the update yourself (requires a Windows PC and USB cable):

  • Safari application-disappeared. & can't be found after download/install ...

This morning, Safari application was no longer in the Applications Folder on my iMac. (Nor was FireFox!) Can't find it anywhere, even using 'Search'.
So, I installed Safari from a previously downloaded .dmg/.pkg. Went through all the steps, and greeted with "Installation was successful!!!"
However, the [supposedly] newly installed Safari application is nowhere to be found.
I have been through various cycles of this, even downloading anew on MacBook and then dragging from MacBook to iMac. I have been careful to use the correct versions to match the Mac OS 10.6.2 that's on the iMac.
I'm befuddled. Can't find a similar problem on the forum ...

    HI,
*I have been careful to use the correct versions to match the Mac OS 10.6.2 that's on the iMac.*
    Absolutely.
First, instead of using a .dmg Safari from a previously downloaded .dmg/.pkg... that might be a previous version of Safari, Go here and try downloading the newest version of Safari.
    http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
Make sure and select Snow Leopard on the left. If after the installation, you still can't use Safari
after you download and install Safari....
When you have probems with applications disappearing, it's probably a good time to check the startup disk for errors.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
*(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space*
If the startup disk appears to be ok and there sufficient disk space, try booting in Safe Mode
    What is Safe Mode

Hello, I synchronized my iPhones with iTunes, having a new laptop, I had to do this step. But instead of helping it, I lost many applications. All my good applications disappeared. How do I get them back? What I have to do? I bought those app!!!
How is this possible? How can the iTunes eat what I bought and what for? To buy the applications again?! Geez!
Tell me the solution. It must exist one!

You can redownload you previously purchased apps for free as long as they are still available in the app store.  Be sure you are logged into the Apple ID in iTunes used to purchase them, then follow this guide: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519.

  • I think I found a problem with the calculator application.

I'm a south korean highschool student and I think I found a problem with calculator application. I use iPod touch 4th generation with iOS 5.0.1. I was playing with calculator app and I found out that 0.1!(factorial) is 0.951350769866873. This can't be right bacause factorial calculation can only be definrd whan n is natural number or 0(in n!). I want apple to correct this error.
And if you are someone working with apple, please let me know the algorithm of factorial calculation(if possible). I would be grateful if I can have a chance to study the algorithm and find out what made 0.1! possible.
    so question.
do anybody know how to send an email to apple? I tried but I couldn't find the address.

Apple doesn't dialogue with users via email the way you want, but you can report such problems to them via
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
But in this particular case you should be aware that factorial can in fact be done for non-integers:

  • Using calculator application without numeric keypad?

    Hello,
I have a little but very frustrating problem. I was bought a new MacBook in the last week to replace my old PowerBook 12". Everything is fine, I like the new machine but the numeric keypad is missing. This isn't a catastrophic problem, but I can't use the calculator application only using the keyboard! Why? In the calculator application doesn't support the multiplying key (AltShift,) if you are using Hungarian keyboard layout. Any other function is working fine (add, sub, div). With the numeric keypad we can handle this problem, but without it: no!
So anyone can help me how I can solve this problem?
    Best regards,
    Peter

I'm not used to Hungarian keyboards but am I right that the multiplying key is the one with the 'Ú' (just googled it)?
Then you should try to access it with ALT+Ú ... NO shift.
Maybe this could work. Just give it a try =)
    Edit:
Hm or it could be the '-' key...
But I found something interesting on the net:
    http://blog.felho.hu/hungarian-unicode-qwerty-keyboard-layout.html
It's an apple keyboard there =)

  • Excel application disappeared

    iMac running OSX 10.7.5
    Microsoft Office for Mac 2011
Excel application gone and can't re-install because Apple ID invalid?
After not using for a few weeks, by Excel application disappeared.  Application Icon still there, but error message appears.   Excel users files still there.  error message says: "Check the the developer to make sure Microsfot Excel works with this version of Mac OS X.  YOu may need to reinstall the application."
I purchased Office for Mac 2011 and have a product ID.  I tried fixing the application but that didn't work, so the support info said to re-install.  When I try with my product code, it says that my product key is short 5 digits; it is 20 digits not 25.  However, when I look at the Product Key in Outlook, or Word, which are part of the Office Product I have, it says the product is licensed to me and shows a 20 digit product ID.  Why is my product key short 5 digits so that I cannot re-install Excel.  And why did my Excel application disappear?  I have automatic updates on, so it may have been an update.  I really can't pinpoint when my Excel application disappeared.

I suggest you post your question on the Microsoft Mac Office forums as that's where the Office gurus hang out...

I just got my new IMAC desktop, still learning, but for something I did, the download fan is gone.  what should I do to get back on the bottom of screen?

when I using the delete key, why is backspace deletion instead of regular way deleting?
    Thank you very much.

  • Silencing the HP15c calculator application: anyone know how?

I have the official Hewlett-Packard 15c calculator application. Does anyone know how to silence it? Everytime I press a key, it is so loud.
I know that I can hit the side ringer on/off switch, but I want to leave my ringer on. I also know I can put headphones on, but then it clicks through the headphones.
I've looked in the application settings both inside the application (tilt to landscape, then hit the menu key) as well as in the general iPhone settings area (no HP 15c selection).

Thanks, Mort, I tried that, but it didn't work...maybe because I was already in the highest resolution?
I saw advice to someone whose itunes window was too large. They suggested applescript code:
    tell application "Adobe Illustrator"
      set bounds of window 1 to {296, 97, 1394, 996}
    end tell
I replaced iTunes with illustrator, but got an error message:
    Adobe Illustrator got an error: Can’t set window 1 to {296, 97, 1394, 996}.
    thanks!

  • Downloaded Applications Disappear on iPod

Hi, I recently bought an iPod touch and a Mac. Apparently either I don't completely understand how it works or there is a problem with my device. Every time I connect my iPod to my iTunes and sync everything (i have enabled syncing everything from music to applications). The applications disappear from the iPod although I can still see them in the "Applications" pane of my iTunes.
Afterwards I go back to the AppStore and re-install the application. When I do it I get a message "You have already purchased this item to download it again press ok".
The part which is annoying is that I don't want to re-download every-time the applications.
Anyone has any idea why this happens and how to prevent it? On a similar note how can I install an application directly from iTunes to iPod touch, of course if it is possible? Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you have your applications set to sync as well in iTunes. Click on your device and then click on the tab marked Applications. Set iTunes to sync your apps - or it will remove them the next time you sync.

  • Why do my applications disappear?

When I export my applications from my dev instance and I import them into the prod instance in without the build option they disappear from the list when I log into the prod database as the schema owner. Looking in the App Builder they don't show up.
I only foind this when I wanted to rev the prod application and I couldn't find the current version in the list. It still works but I cannot see it to remove it.

    Hi
The Application Express User’s Guide, section 'Exporting an Application and Related Files' mentions that while you are exporting an application:
From Build Status Override, select one of the following:
    ■ Run Application Only - Developers can only run an application
    ■ Run and Build Application - Developers can both run and edit an application
Selecting Run Application Only is an effective way to protect an application from
modifications from other developers. Note that if you select Run Application
Only you cannot set the argument p_trace to Yes.
I hope this makes some sense for you.

  • Calculator utility disappeared! (OSX newbie)

    Hi,
I recently found that the calculations functionality of the new leopard was not working and tried to find the reason. What I found that might be related (or not) is that it appears that I have no calculator anymore! I can't for my life understand where or how it has been moved/deleted/disabled but I can't find it anywhere.
Any tips on how to get it back highly appreciated!
    /Hannes

If you look in your applications folder is there a calculator.app?
If you don't see it and your apps are not in alpha order, select view->arrange by name
For some reason when I installed Leopard, the icons were in some random order and I thought some were missing.
You can also use the finder search bar and type in calculator.
If it's not there then you may need a tool like Pacifist to extract the app from your DVD.
    You can get pacifist here:
    http://www.charlessoft.com/
    It's easy to use.

  • Notes application disappeared from my iMac, how do I get it back?

My notes application has disappeared from my iMac, how do I get it back?

If you don't find it: start the iMac while holding the Alt(option) key: you get the EFI menu, choose the recovery disk, reinstall Lion: this leaves the user data untouched. But as always: backup.
It will restore the system apps also.
