Calendar 6.0 in Lion removed 24hrs clock function

Apparently, apple removed the 24hr clock function from calendar (former ical) application.
It was until Snow leopard OS that this function was still possible, with the new OS Lion, this very useful function is no longer available.
It is true or is just me that I can't figure it out how to find it.
I wish somebody out there can guide me to find the answer.
Thanks guys
Cheers
Betin

I'm not sure what your on about with Calendar. Mine says iCal. Check System Preferences Language and Text. Set the time format there.

  • How to clear calendar cache on Mountain Lion

At least, I think that's the problem.
I have multiple Apple devices (iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, Macbook Pro running 10.8.3, and Macbook Air running 10.7.x (it's not in front of me at the moment)), and we're talking about an Exchange calendar.
I deleted all future occurances of a recurring appointment on the Air. It removed from the calendar on the Air, and synched to all of the iPhones. However, it did not get removed from the Pro running Mountain Lion. If I then try and delete the appointment from the offending machine where it still exists, it gives the spinning pinwheel for about 20 minutes, but ultimately removes it ... until I quit Calendar, and open it back up, at which point the meeting has returned (even though it's still not on any of the other devices, and if I log in via Outlook on the web, appears not to be on the Exchange server either).
The above sounds like a cacheing issue to me, so I tried the following:
Deleted the Exchange account from Mail, Calendar, and AddressBook.
Removed the following files and folders:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.CalendarAgent
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.iCal
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.CalendarAgent.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences/widget-com.apple.widget.calendar.plist
Then I rebooted, opened Mail, and added the Exchange account (including address book and calendar) ... and the deleted appointment immediately returns! (certainly much faster than it could be syncing with an Exchange server, so it must be getting it somewhere local).
The only sign of anything going amok is in the Console log:
CalendarAgent: Unexpected EOF, returning last token as fallback
Does anyone have any suggestions on either how to really clear the Calendar cache on Mountain Lion; or other guesses as to what the problem might be?
    Thanks!
    Chris

    You must be right:
CorelDraw was originally developed for Microsoft Windows 3 and currently runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.[26] The current version, X6, was released on 20 March 2012.
Versions for Mac OS and Mac OS X were at one time available, but due to poor sales these were discontinued. The last port for Linux was version 9 (released in 2000, it did not run natively; instead, it used a modified version of Wine to run) and the last version for OS X was version 11 (released in 2001).

  • How can I create a group Calendar in iCal, Mountain Lion

How can I create a group Calendar in iCal, Mountain Lion?

How can I create a group Calendar in iCal, Mountain Lion?

  • Cannot create new Calendar Group in Mountain Lion

I am using a brand new iMac. I didn't use the migration tool-- instead I exported all of my Calendars from Snow Leopard and Imported them via the File menu in the Calendar application in Mountain Lion.
Under the File menu, there is no "New Calendar Group" option. Command-Shift-N results in an error alert sound and no action.
I do not use iCloud for anything other than email-- everything is turned off in System Preferences.
In Calendar, under the Preferences -> Accounts section, I have NO accounts. It is completely blank.
My previous groups from my export/import are there under the "On My Mac" section of the Calendars panel. I can edit them. But I cannot create any new ones.
Any suggestions? Everything on the internet says I need to deactivate my iCloud account calendars... but I don't use them.

Ah, Barney, you are a lifesaver!
Sorry for the late reply, I was away from my computer this weekend.
All of my calendars had been in groups. I moved one of them outside, and TA DA-- "New Calendar Group" appeared.
Thanks so much for the help. I will have to leave 1 calendar outside of a group so I can add as many as I'd like.

My app cleaner accidentally deleted an important component of the Calendar widget on Mountain Lion. The widget didn't work any more (no dates in it) so I deleted it.

  • Calendar from Time Machine Lion backup to Mountain Lion

    Hello,
I copied the Time Machine backup from my crashed Lion iMac to my Mountain Lion Mac Mini, folder ~/Library/Calendars.
The calendar data is not correct converted from Lion to Mountain Lion: ex. appointment from 31-jan-2013 18:30 upto 19:30 is changed to 31-jan-2013 18:30 upto 01-feb-2013 19:30.
How can I correctly convert the calendar database from my Lion backup to Mountain Lion ?
    Thanks,
    Hubert

Here are the steps I would use.. do not connect by ethernet at all whilst you do them.
    Factory reset the TC.
    The Factory Reset universal
Unplug your TC/AE. Hold in reset. and power the TC/AE back on..  all without releasing reset and keep holding in for about 10sec. The time is not important.. it is the front LED rapid flashing that indicates you are in factory mode.
    Release reset.
If it doesn’t flash rapidly you have released reset at some point and try again.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel..  add no more pressure after that.
TC/AE will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.
Redo the setup with different names. Short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. eg TCgen5 as base station name. TCwifi for wireless name.
Make sure the password for disk and wireless etc.. are 8-20 characters pure alphanumeric mix of case and numbers.
Reset TM then to the new drive location.
See A4 pondini for a full reset.
    http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
Strongly recommend you also verify the backup and install the Widget.. A5 and A1. The log you get from the widget is a big help to see what is going wrong.
Ensure the ipv6 is set to link-local only in wireless.
I would do the whole lot but you can test at each step if you want.. I just had it happen to me.. first time in 12months and regular posting in this area. Doing the above got me going again.. although it takes a bit of patience to work through the lot.

  • I can not remove the clock that is on my desktop.

I have a power book G4 with OS 10.3.9. A few months a go I put a clock on my desktop. It is an analog clock and I want to remove it from my desktop, but I cannot. When I open the clock from the menu, another clock comes to my desktop and when I quit it, it disappears from desktop, but still I have that analog clock. Is there anybody that can tell me how can I remove this clock? I appreciate your help.

Go into your System Preferences and to Accounts. On the far right top button bar there will be a 'Startup Items' tab. Open that and highlight on the clock and then in the lower left is the '+' and '-' boxes to add or remove an application.Try that!

I would like to keep the email in Mail.app if i accept an calendar invitation.
currently it get removed when I accept it and places it in iCal.
    How can I do that.

For POP type accounts, go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Advanced tab for the account preferences, deselect "Remove copy from server after retrieving a message" and no messages downloaded by Mail will be removed from the server.
If you have multiple POP type accounts created and accessed with the Mail.app, this must be deselected under the Advanced tab for the account preferences for each account.
Or select it and below, your options via the pop-up window are:
    Right Away
    After one day
    After one week
    After one month

Why did Lion remove spotlight search from right click options?

If by "contextual menu" you mean Right Clicking, then Yes, I now can highlight text (say a name in Address Book), right click it, and Spotlight searches for it.
There is a little triangle next to the word Searching in Sys Pref; make sure it's pointing down and opens the sub-choices below it, i.e. Look up in Dictionary, Search with Google, and Spotlight.
Let me know if this doesn't do it for you.
    Good luck.

  • Stock Clock app desk clock function

I've used the stock Clock app on my S4 (and previously on a different phone with an earlier version of Android) for alarms, timers, and a stopwatch. I only just discovered (because it's scrolled off to the right in portrait mode) that it has a desk clock feature as well. Sorry for the length of this, but I want to post on this in case others have not seen it either. (The user manual is hopelessly uninformative.)
When you tap the Desk Clock button in the Clock app (turn it sideways to landscape mode for easiest access), you get a screen with the time and date, a calendar, and a weather widget. (On my S4 it's an AccuWeather widget, which seems not to update unless GPS is on, making it less useful.) In either portrait or landscape mode, it's a handy clock to have on, especially with a kickstand. Press the Menu key to get Settings for options to display or not display the calendar and weather, and to access the system Date and time settings.
It gets handier when you tap the little icon in the upper right corner to make it full screen. Now it displays without the other Clock app buttons across the top. It also has four shortcuts across the bottom of the screen, for Alarm, Music, Gallery, and Internet. The Menu key in this full-screen mode offers more options, including changing or hiding those app shortcuts, and settings to hide the Status bar and to choose a background from your gallery or use the Home screen wallpaper (but a busy background makes the clock hard to read).
In this mode, the desk clock display is not affected by the screen timeout setting. It will display indefinitely. After a brief time, it turns off the background image (I hear two little splash noises when it does this) and just displays the time and date and weather on a black background, I presume to save battery. To prevent the remote possibility of burn-in, it even moves the items displayed around on the screen every so often. This display mode can also bypass the lock screen. With the desk clock in full-screen mode, press the Power/Lock key. (Again I hear not one but two little splashes when the phone turns off.) When I press the Power/Lock key again, instead of my lock screen, I get the full screen desk clock.
You may want to plug the phone in if you keep the clock displayed for a long time; even with the black background it's going to be using some battery. As far as I can tell, using the above procedure will keep the clock displayed as long as you want. Since it bypasses your lock screen, when you press Power/Lock to turn the phone on with the clock displayed, everything is available: you can just touch the screen to restore the background and access the notification bar, or press the Home button, or whatever.
Two last notes: The settings for the Desk Clock function also include settings for Dock, which I don't use and can't report on. Also, I don't have a PIN or pattern set up for my lock screen. I suspect that if you do, this will not bypass the lock screen, on the reasonable assumption that you want some actual security; but I don't know for certain, and hopefully someone with experience on that score can post a reply.

    Nice! Thanks for the write-up.
