Calendar and Clock Time Incorrect?

Here's a weird thing that just started happening with my iPhone. Whenever I'm on Edge or Wi-Fi (as is most cases), my calendar thinks the date is yesterday, and my clock is slow. When I switch to 3G however, the date is right, and the clock is accurate. Switch back to edge? Wrong date, wrong time. I did a little quick fix by turning my phone to 3G, then had the clock/date put to manual, but I'd kinda like to know why it was having issues on edge/wi-fi?

I presume that settings > General > Date & Time has 'Set Automatically' toggled ON when this happens. If so, the problem is not with your phone, it's with the carrier (since that's where the setting is pulled from) - they would seem to be having issues with there EDGE network data that are not occurring on their 3G network. Give your carrier a call to report the problem.

  • I lost one of my calendars and every time I load the back up, I cloud updates and wipes out the calendar I am trying to restore.

As long as I stay off the cloud, I can keep my back up calendar. As soon as I open the cloud, the update wipes out the one am trying to recover. I use three-- and the most important one, appointments, somehow went a way. Fortunately I have a recent back up. maddening

If you synchronize any of your calendars with a server such as iCloud, disable that synchronization. Quit Calendar.
Triple-click the line below to select it: ~/Library/Calendars Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder selected. Enter Time Machine and restore that folder from the snapshot you want.
Relaunch Calendar and test. Your calendars should be as they were when the snapshot was taken. If you don't sync with a server, stop here. If you do sync some of the calendars with a server, select each one in turn and then select
    File ▹ Export ▹ Export…
from the menu bar. You'll get ICS files with the filename extension ".ics". Re-enable sync. Usually, all the calendars you just restored will be deleted. That's not a problem. Create a new calendar on the server for each one you exported and want to sync:
    File ▹ New Calendar
Then import the calendar from the corresponding ICS file by double-clicking it. Follow the prompts to import the new events to the calendar you just created. For calendars that you don't want to sync, just import them again. They'll appear in the calendar list under On My Mac.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • My iPhone will not sync calendar AND changes times by one hour

Have read numerous threads and see this is a chronic problem for others.
I have a Mac Pro, OS 10.6.8, don't use iCloud, do use calendar, which used to sync with the iPhone just fine.
Have an iPhone 4S, OS 7.0.4.
On the phone, the calendar pushes the time of events BACK by an hour, even if I input it on the phone correctly in the first place.
The iPhone and computer are both set to Eastern Standard Time (correct).
At the recommendation of one support thread, in iCal preferences on the computer, I went to Advanced and selected "Turn on time zone support." This did not solve the problem.
The computer and phone do not appear to be syncing, ie an event in the iPhone calendar is not showing up on the computer's iCal.
Have missed appointments due to this nonsense. HELP!

    Check the Mac:
System Preferences > Date & Time > [Date & Time tab] > Set Automatically = checked

  • I enter specific times on the computer icloud calendar and the times are three (3) hours different when viewed on my iphone. I have checked the time settings on the iphone and it is correct (EST).Where do I go next?

I have entered dates and specific times on my computers icloud calendar.  When I view the dates and times on my iphone the times are three (3) hours later. I have checked the time zone settings on my iphone and it is correct (EST).  Where do I go next?

Restoring is the answer. It sounds as if there is a rogue process constantly draining your battery.
The issue you face is that, if you restore your backup thereafter, you risk the problem coming straight back with your files.
Store your files individually and it is time to start fresh.

  • Clock/time incorrect after upgrade to bootcamp 5 running windows 8-64

Since I did the upgrade to bootcamp 5 running windows 8-64, (which solved all the previous problems), the clock/time changes by itself to be off by hours frequently throughout the day.

I'd suggest you upgrade to OSB10.4.0.1.0 release.
Webtool taking ages is probably related to some other OS issue, check /var/log/messages and whatever and check your DNS settings are all correct.
What about obtool commands, are they also slow?
    Thanks

  • Inefficient Calendar and Clock

I received the software update for my BB Z10 a week or two ago. As I understand it, the updates take out glitches and, I thought, make things easier. The calendar is NOT EFFICIENT anymore! Before, I could do everything on the one calendar page, now it takes about three steps - and they aren't clear! - to enter all my info. The clock is so **bleep** annoying now because if I happen to tap the screen at the wrong place, that annoying little red thing moves and changes the time for my alarm!
BlackBerry developers, if you're going to update software, INNOVATE, INNOVATE, INNOVATE! Nothing about the BlackBerry is innovative anymore. Stop playing catch-up with other companies. I have been using BB for several years and have always loved it. My new Z10 is sleek looking, much more esthetically pleasing than the iPhone in my view. However, I'm SO CLOSE to replacing my BB with an iPhone because of these updates that keep changing all my ringtones, notification sounds, display, etc. every bloody time I accept an update.
I hope someone from BB answers this. I wanted to send an email but of course it's impossible to do that. Apple (of which I own several products) is ALWAYS available to answer your questions, by phone or by email. BB's website is not even user friendly. No wonder this company is going down the toilet.
Yes, I'm an irate customer, a very dissatisfied one. Once my contract ends with BB, I will never get a BB again. Of course, they may no longer exist...
    Please answer me.

  • Why no stock, weather and clock/timer apps for iPad?

These are all great and useful apps. Why did Apple leave them off of the iPad. Any suggestions for replacements?

They've never been included in native apps on iPad, but there are loads and loads of options in the App Store.  Just go out and type in Clock in the search bar and you'll see many options.

  • Widget calendar and time

I recently moved to Seoul, from Portland, and I'm trying to get this figured out. I changed the time and date on my computer to Seoul time, but I'd like to keep my widget calendar and clock to Portland time for quick reference.
However, I changed the clock date and time, and when I put in "portland" for the clock, it stays at Seoul time. Does my computer think I'm still in Portland? I'm confused. How do I get it to work like I want it to?

    Hi pdxmeghan,
I'm from Vancouver but am living near Guangzhou, China. I solved this problem by changing my computer time to Canton time and then placing 2 widget clocks on my desktop so that I have both Vancouver time and Canton time whenever I click widgets on the dashboard. You can have as many widget clocks running at the same time as you like, from what I can tell.
To change the time on them you simply click the small " i " button on the bottom right side at which point the clock turns over and you input the time and city. Hope this helps. Vee.

  • How to print a monthly calendar with start and end times

    Hi,
I'm trying to print my monthly calendar and the times of the appointments do not show up.
    Am i missing something?

It looks like we're not alone in looking for this feature. I found 28 other posts to this forum alone asking for this functionality (dating back to August 2005).
I know Apple likes to be different and elegant with their apps, but until iCal adds this trivial feature, it's not an adequate replacement for even paper calendars.
Do the engineers in Cupertino not care how long their appointments last? Why not at least let users show the end time on appointments as an option in month view?

  • The time in iCal, iMail, and Screensaver clock is incorrect

*I've noticed that the time given for events in iCal is always displayed as 7:08pm and the time that is displayed for all of my emails regardless of what time they were recieved is displayed as 7:08, and the time displayed in my screen saver is also stuck at 7:08. The clock in the upper right corner of the screen is right on though, and is working just fine. I also noticed that in iCal the time scale in the day mode is gone, it just says -sat- where there should be a time, except for noon which is displayed as such. This is just a little problem that has been bugging me lately if anyone has any insight into how this can be fixed please let me know, i can take screen shots of some of the examples if needed.*

    Please try this:
    1. Open System Preferences
    2. Click on Language & Text
    3. Set Region for United States
Also when typing please do not type in bold, use the normal font. Bold is intended for something to stand out, putting a complete post in bold detracts from anything you may be trying to emphasize.

  • TS1638 When syncing calendar on iPhone with Microsoft Office whole day appointments get moved to double day. I am aware this may be caused by conflicts in clock, viz daylight saving time. However, Outlook seems OK and takes time from Windows time and zone

When syncing my iPhone to Microsoft Outloook all the full day appointments become two day - 2300hrs to 2300hrs next day. Sometimes this will include a nuber of a single day of 23 hours. Looked at solutions and all point to a clock issue or a daylight saving and winter times. Outlook operating time is directly from the Windows clock that incudes the change of times for daylight saving etc. It is set for UTC Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisban, London with daylight saving included in the options. I can't see what I can do.

When I open certain apps it says my device's date is incorrect. But on my calendar and general settings, it's all correct!

Try changing the date - doesn't matter to what - just change it - go back to the app and I assume that you will get the same message. Go back to the settings and change the date and time to automatic again and see if the apps will work after that. Turn location services on in the settings as well.
