Calendar and Contacts just stopped working

I have an odd issue creep up that Apple Enterprise support and I cannot seem to remedy, I am hopeful someone here might give me some insight.
Mac Mini Server, Running OS X Server 10.8.4.
A few users (no Open Directory)
Each user has their own contacts and calendars.
Each user can enter user and password to see server shares
As of yesterday each users account on their client Macs cannot access either contacts or calendars, the server keeps asking for the password within both calendar and contact apps, entering in the correct password still yields the error.
I have tried:
-resetting the password
-logging that user in directly to use the server be sure they can login, they can.
-resetting the password with must reset password upon next login checked
-reset all the services
-reset the databse for contacts and calendars via terminal
-removed keys from keychain
-looked at console and found errors, but they don't point to much
-restored the entire server from a TM backup when I know all was working fine. Did that and then accounts that were working no longer work, so it became worse
-apple is stumped, therefore I am starting phase 3 of digging deeper
Their suggestion at this point is a clean install of the OS which is a large undertaking and does not provide comfort as I am not sure what started this issue to begin with therefore it could come up again.
Any one out there with any ideas? I can provide more information if needed.

Another item I found curious is some accounts I deleted and tried to create them again but got an error stating that I could not create that account because there was another one with that name. I checked this in terminal as well but even there the account could not be found.
This am I restored from a TM backup from July 1st and things are smooth. Apple Eng suggested instead of putting the same calendar and contact account on each client Mac so that multiple users have the same calendar and contacts accounts in order to read and write to those, instead use delegation for multiple calendars and contacts. The PostgreSQL will work more effieciently with delegation.
Any experience with this?
I had a situation very similar to yours some two years ago (Server 10.6).  Happened out of the blue as I was finishing setting up the server.  All of a sudden the calendar and contacts stopped working.  In their situation we had one account used just for calendar and contact.  Separate credentials for shares etc, and no OD.  I basically did everything you mentioned in the OP several times, hours on the phone w/ Enterprise Support.  Even escallated to Engineering but nothing worked.  Ended up doing a nuke and pave.
On the delegation versus adding each account thing.  I've done both ways and never had any problems.  In fact my production server has half a dozen separate accounts for major customers of mine.  The only problem I have had is with my iPhone.  For some reason it randomly stops updating an account so I have to remove and re-add the account.  Does not happen on my iPad though.

  • How can I sync only Calendars and Contacts on my work PC

    Previous versions of the iCloud control panel allowed me to select separately which items I wanted to sync with a PC, Calendars, Contact, Email.
    The new version of the control panel has this bundled as a single choice.
    How can I eliminate incuding mail?
    I am trying to use this on a work PC to keep calendars and contacts in sync, but cannot include iCould email.  If I cannot eliminate just the email will need to remove all syncing (defeating the purpose of the cloud).

    You might wait until the next Mavericks to see if iTunes syncing for contacts and calendars is restored.  Otherwise, you can either install OS X server to restore local syncing (see https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/os-x-server/id714547929), or start syncing your calendars and contacts with another service such as Google/Gmail.

  • I can't make or take phone calls, but i can message and use data. Has this happened to anyone else? I've gone through three Samsung Galaxy S5's in the past three days, two of which have this problem and one just stopped working all together.

    Im in 79707. So to recap my whole case: I upgraded my device using the verizon wireless website. I received my phone and switched my old SIM card from my Droid Razr Maxx HD into the new Galaxy S5. Everything worked fine until the next morning (May 31st) when I woke up and the phone wouldn't turn on. I took the phone to the local Verizon store and they were also unable to turn it on. They issued me a new Galaxy S5 (referred to as phone 2) and switched my SIM card into that one.
    With PHONE 2 i was able to make calls and receive calls, along with text and data for approximately four hours. After that, i was unable to use the phone function of the device, but text and data were still functioning. I took PHONE 2 back to the Verizon store where they attempted to hard reset the phone twice, they also installed two new SIM cards at the store. After this they would get the same error, which is the phone just reading "Dialing..." after attempting to make a call. The Verizon associate declared the phone "DOA" and issued me another Galaxy S5 (referred to as PHONE 3).
    PHONE 3 worked well, with phone text and data featured intact from when I received it on the after noon of the 31st until approximately 2:30PM on June 1st. I contacted Verizon Tech Support via Gmail phone to attempt the correct the problem. They reset the connection, had me do a battery pull, had me close the "phone" application, and erase the data and catche, then restart the phone. All of which had no effect. My phone is still able to receive texts and use data (even with wifi off) it simply cannot make or take phone calls. all it says is "dialing..." when I attempt to make a call. When other phones call my device it rings once on their end and directs them to voicemail, PHONE 3 does not ring on my end.
    I have made sure my old phone is completely powered down.

  • My ipod touch 5th generation keeps wifi signal for 10-30 minutes and then just stops working.

         I've had my ipod for about a month now and it worked fine up until this week.
    This week I noticed probelms with the wifi. I would be just on facebook or browsing the web and the wifi would just stop working. Every time I turned wifi off and the on again it would give me about 5-10 more minutes of wifi before I had to do it again. I've never expeiranced this with my other 4th generation or 3rd generation ipod touches. The wifi itself is not the probelm because it works just fine on my laptop. Today I updated my software and the probelm was not resolved.
         I need help sould I got to the Apple store and have them check it out?

    Does the iPod have the problem with other networks?

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • Keyboard and Trackpad just stopped working completely

    Hi, I'm on a MBP 2.4 GHz running 10.4.11. Beginning yesterday my keyboard and mouse completely stopped working. This happened twice. The first time I got them working again with a hard shut down, the second time I got them working by closing the screen, putting the computer in standby. When I opened the thing back up, everythign was working.
    Today, though, when the keyboard and trackpad quit, I've been unable to get them working again.
    My problem is similar to the ones experienced here by MBP 2.4 and MB Air owners:

    With the difference being that I'm on Tiger, not Leopard and I can't get the key or pad to respond at all. The solutions offered at that thread don't work for me.
    I've plugged in an external keyboard and mouse and those work fine.

    Related to the keyboard and mouse or trackpad not working, I've found of late that the whole lot freeze up and that wretched spinning timer takes over ad infinitum. Only way out is to hold pwr button the customary 6-8 seconds, then re-start with pwr/option.
    Problem could be related to (Apple) upgrades as it's after a new one that this problem creeps in.
    Makes me want to either revert to Factory settings or, Heaven forbid, give this MacBook Pro the float test and go back to Microsoft or even dig out the old steam typewriter.
    The latter may be the best option - my life has definitely NOT improved since I invested in this heap of junk and the almost daily offerings of wonderful software by Apple are now set up for Spam, they're such a waste of time...
    So, that's my Sunday moan.
    If I leave this thing alone while I make a cup of tea I'll find it frozen again by the time I come back - any help on this from anyone??? (Steam being a bit pricey these days)

  • FW800 and 400 just stopped working.

    I was trying to add a FAT partition to my external drive connected with FW800 with Disk Utility (and it failed to do so, like the last 40 times I've tried, but that's not what this topic is about) so I did what I always do to get the drive back to normal after Disk Utility screwing up; quit Disk Utility, and restart the drive. Only this time, the drive didn't show up. So I tried the USB connection, and it worked. I tried the FW400 connection, and it didn't work. I tried the other FW800 port on the external drive, and it didn't work.
    Since all the FW doesn't work, but the USB does, I am assuming it's not the cord, or the drive.
    I don't have any other devices to check the FW ports on my computer.
    Any help solving this will be greatly appreciated.

    Well, of course one of the first things I tried was a restart, and it didn't help, but I switched between XP and OS X through bootcamp about 3 times since then, and reading your post, and since I hate having to find all the settings that get lost by resetting the PRAM, I thought I'd try the FW one more time, and, of course, out of the blue, it works.
    In response to your other question, c), but it's sort of a long story and, though I haven't at all solved why disk utility ALWAYS gets stuck on "modifying partition map" when I try to add a FAT partition to my drive, I have resigned myself to the fact that it is impossible to get a HFS+ and NTFS partition on my drive (that is currently only HFS+) without erasing it, and doing the NTFS first.

  • My Calendar and Contacts don't work with iOS5!?

    I updated my Iphone 4 last night to the iOS5 and it went seamlessly. I thought everything was fine until I tried to edit one of my contacts. The little plus sign in the top right corner to add contacts or the edit option when viewing a contact have both disappeared I also found this to be the case in my calendar. I can edit events that are already saved, but cannot add any new ones because the plus symbol is gone. I haven't found anybody else with this issue so far, but its frustrating and I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions as to what I can do.

    I found the solution. . . . Go to iCloud and turn it on for contacts. Merge the contacts and you should be able to edit, delete, and add contacts. Same thing if you can't edit your calendar. Turn it on in iCloud on your phone and you should be able to add or edit events.
    Not sure I'm a fan of iCloud. . .

  • K800i as a bluetooth modem - email and web just stopped working!

    I have been using a K800i as a BT modem for many months now - have had no problems.
    The phone pairs with my PowerBook - I can browse files, iSync etc. I can also establish a live connection to the internet through the phone - connects and authenticates no problem - but for some reason, I simply cannot actually surf the web via Safari (or any other browser) or download/send email. There is no problem with my phone - I still can retrieve email and surf form the handset.
    Thoughts would be appreciated!
