Calendar App Broken

I've got a Centro, on AT&T, with an IBM ThinkPad running XP PRO as my computer.
Hotsync is with the Desktop software, through the USB cable.
Computer is up to date with all windows software updates.
Phone is not used for e-mail, or internet browsing, just as a "mobile" data source for my information, a camera, and of course a phone.
Desktop software version is 6.2.2.
I've been a Palm user since the companies beginning, and been one of the biggest fans, but this version has more issues than all the other version put together.
Here's what happens:
When ever I open my calendar, regardless of view, If I try and create a new event from the menu bar, the desktop software just closes.
When ever I open my calendar, regardless of view, if I click on an existing event and ask to edit it, the desktop software just closes.
When ever I open my calendar, regardless of view, if I click on it to create a new event, everything is fine.  However, I can't set it up for repeat, or edit it in anyway after the initial creation.
I have downloaded the new version of the software three times, and installed it three times all with the same results.
I have also edited the registry to eliminate any and all references to Palm or Palm Source, or US Robotics each time.
I have no appointments that span over midnight on any day, and I have downloaded the mprogram DB fixit and it was unable to find any problems.
What can I try now?

This question was solved.
View Solution.

right click on the palm destop>choose properties>compatibility.
try to check the compatibility settings.
is it set to other OS or just win NT or 2k?
sometimes if it is set to incorrect OS or other settings are check it causes the palm desktop to crash or not work properly.
other causes are corrupted files.
try taking off the whole calendar folder from the username folder and do the things you did that caused the crahes.

  • Ios 7.1 Calendar APP STILL broken

I have an iPhone 5S - updated to 7.1 yesterday. Nice to see the old view with the calendar and summary at the bottom but when I went to hit the Magnifying glass for the "List View" the thing is a SEARCH now? WHAT!? Apple broke the calendar APP in ios 7.0 but at least the List View was there. Come on apple - put the list view back for busy people that need to see more than 2 things at the bottom of the screen.
Oh - and my awesomely awesome battery life that I had prior to the update is now reduced to 1/2 of what it was. Trying a few things I found on communities to fix this one. Hopefully I can get that back.

There should be a button on the left side of the magnifying glass. On the current day it will give you a summary of the actual day, when I click on another day that button changes its icon and will allow me to look at the list view with all upcoming events.
If you you do not see any button you could try to reset your iPhone.

  • Google Sync with Mavericks Calendar totally broken?

When I go to Internet Accounts and add my google account, Calendar never works. It tries to connect and fails. Console log shows:
28/10/2013 12:26:23.662 pm com.apple.preferences.internetaccounts.remoteservice[73686]: [com.apple.calendar.iaplugin.log.CalInternetAccountsPlugin] [Autodiscovery error: [Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1001 "The request timed out." How can I get my calendar working again? This is really important to me.

This did not help. Having Calendar.app active or inactive seems to have no bearing on the calendar sync function working.
As the console indicates, the request times out, which means either googles servers are broken, or the calendar integration features are looking in the wrong place.
I've read up on the caldav api as supplied by google and tried to implement it directly using a caldav account in the calendar account preferences, but i have had no success.

  • Calendar.app not showing First Day of Week selected in iCal

I have selected Monday as the first day of the week in iCal. After syncing, Calendar.app on my iPhone 4 does not show Monday as first day of week. My original iPhone 2G (3.1.3, jailbroken) does show the correct start day, Monday.)
I do not need assistance with my iPhone 2G. I need a solution for my iPhone 4.
How do I get my iPhone 4 to be in sync with my other calendars?

That's a real pain. I'm in Australia and the regional settings have Monday as the first week, which throws me out because all my calendars and even settings in iCal have Sunday as the first day of the week (which is what it's supposed to be). To get what I want, I have to set my country as New Zealand, and this messes up my phone number formats (closest to Australia than any of the others that start the week correctly though). It should be an option in the settings!

  • Calendar app stuck on year view

iPhone 4S running OS 8.1 - Calendar app stuck in year view. Shows todays date in red but when you try to go to "Today" nothing happens. Any thoughts?

There is more than one place to change time. If you set the time to local, you need to go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>scroll down to the bottom under calendar and set the time zone support there for the local time zone.

  • List view in Calendar App

    Morning.
Is there a way to enable Calendar App to show the end time of events in list view?
    Kind regards, Friedrich

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • How to Hide Timezone in Month View in Calendar App?

I live in two timezones and go back and forth often so I use the timezone support in Calendar app for Mavericks and on my iOS devices and it's quite useful. However, one thing about it really stinks, imho.
I cannot find a way to hide the timezone information associated with individual events in the month view of the Calendar desktop application. This redundant and superfluous information results in the truncation of the event information, which *is* important to me.
For example, instead of an event in month view being displayed as "check amex payment", as it was before I enabled timezone support, it now says "check a... 3AM GMT+7". Since every event has this appended timezone information displayed next to it the month view of my calendar has become much less useful than it was previously. I don't really need to know how many hours ahead of GMT an event is, I pretty much just want to know what the event is and on what day, in the month view. Now I cannot tell what any event is unless I open it in in week or day view. Very frustrating.
If anyone knows of a way to hide that information in the month view it would be greatly appreciated to post it here.
    thanks Apple Community!

No one else has this problem or knows of a solution? *weeps quietly*

I Have multiple colour categories in my calendar  but need a calendar app that can sync with outlook. Do NOT want to sync with google calendar. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Hi ron1098,
Try my application Dates to iCal. it runs on the Mac, but you can sync the calendar to your iOS device.
See more about Dates to iCal here. It is £4 shareware with a 2 week demo.

  • After update to IOS 6 on my Ipad2 it not possible to go to month view of March 2013 in the calendar app?

after update to IOS 6 on my Ipad2 it not possible to go to month view of March 2013 in the calendar app?
on my Ipone with IOS there is no problem
is Apple aware of this problem?
    When will it be solved?

Probably the app developers fault but then Apple needs to warn people about compatiblity of apps... I will add a review note to TOP 3 to warn people
If it is an app compatibility issue - it IS the app developers responsibility to make sure that they update their apps in order to work with the new iOS. Apple owes no users a warning whatsoever. Common sense tells me that a very old app that has not been updated for the last two iOS updates just might not make the grade in the third iOS release since the app came out.
I can't even find an App called Top 3 Solitaire in the U.S. App Store. Perhaps the app was so old and it hasn't been updated in so long so it was pulled from the App Store.

  • After I upgraded to Mavericks 10.9.2, calendar app won't open

I recently upgraded to Mavericks 10.9.2 on my mac. After the upgrade i cannot open my calendar. I get a message that my mac does not dsupport this app. Can anyone tell me where I can find out what kind of mac would support the calendar app. Is there something I csn do on this computer. I am on an imac 3.2 GHz Intel core i3 with 8 GB of memory.

Please use Finder to locate your Applications folder, then the Calendar app there.  Control-click on the Calendar app and choose "Get Info".  What version number is shown there?  It should be 7.0.
If it is 7.0, click on the Calendar app you just located in the Applications folder.  Does it open?  If so, drag the old Calendar app off your dock (which will remove it), and drag this one from your Applications folder to the dock (which will add it there).  That should solve your issue.

  • ICloud / Calendar app keeps changing my calendar colors

I just noticed this happening two days ago, the calendar app on my iphone and macbook is changing the colors of my calendars at random. They're only cycling between two colors for each of the 3 calendars (the original color, green, orange, purple and the changed color of blue and purple). I have no idea why it's doing this. No one else has access to my icloud account, and so far I have not noticed any loss of data. I've backed everything up. The same thing is happening on my iphone as well.
    OSX 10.8.4, Cal version 6.0 (1648)
It's more of a nuisiance, but I don't want to lose appointments if this is a sign of something else going on. Any ideas?

sorry. please disregard. I did not check out the other threads about this issue.

  • All of my schedule is missing from the calendar app. Why and how do I fix it?

I only noticed at the beginning of this week, but my entire calendar is empty. I didn't have it separated into different parts or anything else special. It is now just an empty blank and it won't allow me to input any new data. I have had everything re-synced, un-synced and re-synced, each time completely exiting the app. I have also turned it off and turned it back on. What else could be done to fix this problem?

Try this: In the Calendar app, tap Calendars at bottom center. Make sure "Show all calendars" is checked.

  • Why does my wife's calendar app ask for the password to my calendar account?

My wife and I used to have iPhone 4's. We each have a Google calendar, and we had our calendar apps set up so that each iphone would show both calendars. We never had any trouble.
Recently my wife and I switched to iPhone 5c's. Since then, whenever my wife tries to enter something into the calendar, the app asks for the password to my account. I don't have that problem on my phone. I'm pretty sure the phone apps are set up the same way. What gives?

It is possible that those 2 calendars are syncing Google accounts and being shared.  My friend shares her calendar with me and it shows up in my calendar.

  • How can I get my old calendar app restored

The new update changed my calendar and it is now HARDER to use. Is there a way to restore the old calendar? If not is there a calendar app that is similar to the old IPHONE calendar? I'm just about ready to leave apple for another phone becasue each change they make is not user friendly.

No, you cannot downgrade the software. However, you can take a look at apps like Week Cal, Fantastical, Tempo.
