Calendar App on Apple Watch

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening fellow Appleites,
Received my Apple Watch on April 24th via UPS  and have been like a kid on christmas morning since! It really is spectacular. Some glitches, certainly, but thats to be expected from any new product release.  Something else to be expected is that not everything will be included in the first release ... As people say what they want, Apple will no doubt incorporate these wishes into future versions of the OS - we all know that, so if some features are missing from 1.0 ... big deal! Having said that ... I have a quick question I am hoping the collective Apple Watch Community can help answer.
On the Calendar Watch App, it appears I can only view the current month ... not future or prior months? I feel like being able to scroll through months is something fairly basic and would be included in a 1.0 iteration ... so I am thinking user error. But i've tried a couple searches on various sites with no luck in finding out how to swipe to future/previous months and am hoping "you" can help me. I thank you in advance for your help!
Happy Time Telling!

I believe it's not possible. It's already 1st of May here in Sydney and I cannot get back to 30th April.
Interestingly I did not notice in the last two days that I couldn't get into May. Maybe I couldn't see May in the monthly calendar but I could at least scroll into May in the day view.

When i update the ios 8.2 new apps for apple watch i dont have.please advice

It was the first thing mentioned in the update description that came up before you chose to click 'Accept'. iOS8.2
You accepted, therefore you have it. Simply put it at the end of your Apps as I have done with Apps I did not want e.g.. Health, Tips, Compass etc.

  • Find My Friends app and Apple Watch

Will Find My Friends app be able to be downloaded on the Apple Watch?

OK. I have read any and everything their has been on the Apple Watch, and their has been nothing about all the apps that will be available in those articles. Now, you could say "Well, that answers your answer."  But, I'm sure their will be some apps that are released that have not been mentioned yet. So, I thought I would ask.

  • Gym apps for apple watch

Thinking of buying an apple watch, but not sure if there is any apps that log my gym routines?

Go to the App Store on your iPhone. One of the options right now in the banner at the top of the Home page is a link to Apps that have Apple Watch components. Look through the Health & Fitness section.

  • Develop Apps for Apple Watch?

I've been developing iOS apps with Flash since 2012.  How can I develop an Apple Watch app with flash?  Any good links with info on this?  I've googled, and Ive forum searched.

There haven't been any announcements around support for that platform. Doesn't mean there won't be in the future but for you you simply are not able to.

  • Medication app for Apple watch

I am a pharmacist and am very excited about using the new Apple Watch to help people with their medications.  An app could be developed (or a link to existing one) to track their current medications they take and reminders of when to take their medications.  It could also remind people to get refills.  In addition, monitoring can take place; for example monitoring the person's blood pressure when they take medication for high blood pressure, blood glucose levels for insulin dependent people, etc.
I am willing to be a resource to anyone who would like to work on this project.  Is anyone developing a medication app for the new Apple watch?

I have been developing Health Apps for years and the Apple Watch is an exciting new device for sure. A good deal of my work is around respiratory diseases which involve collecting data from a number of sources and putting that data into one of my apps to gain the overall condition of the patient. What is difficult to assess right now is what the Apple Watch can monitor in real time apart from standard 'obs' (BP, temp etc.) It will not do Pulse Oximetry (yet) and it is unlikely to be able to do real time monitoring of blood glucose as this is still an invasive test. Until the SDK is added to Xcode (due soon), we will not see quite how this new gadget will present options to us, but I am sure that the device is a cornerstone of the next wave of consumer wearables. Timing medication iterations is a natural for the Apple Watch and I am sure that a slew of apps will be made for just this kind of thing. I will be releasing one as soon as I can, so I will be one of the many I'm sure!

  • Why does my iPad keep on crashing on the calendar app

    Hi,
I'm a student and the last thing that you want to forget is Homework. I like to keep organised every year with all my homework in the calendar app that apple provide so it will alert me when homework has to be in and started. However I click on march and it then crashes every time! I don't know why. It's fine on January and Febuary but when u click on march 2013 it crashes.
    Please help,
It's an iPad 2 by the way and on the latest iOS 6.0.1.

Try removing any all-day events from the calendar for the 1st April 2013 e.g. if you are syncing the calendar from somewhere else (e.g. Outlook on a PC or iCal/Calendar on a Mac) then change it to a timed event instead of all-day (if you don't sync your calendar from anywhere then try going into list view, go to 1st April and change any 'all day' events to times e.g. change Easter Monday to start at something like 4am) - it seems that there is a problem with all day events on that date which is when the clocks change due to daylight saving on the day before.

  • Apple watch workout is way off on calories

I've used the apple watch workout app and the approximate calories burned is way off from what it should be. Is there any way to calibrate it so it will be more accurate? It shows only about half the calories burned that I know it should be.

    Hi poolmanrob,
Yes, there is a way to calibrate your Apple Watch to improve the results shown in Workout and Activity.  By following the steps in the article linked to below, your Apple Watch will then be calibrated.

I also recommend going through the best practices outlined below to ensure you get the best Workout measurement.
    Get the best measurement
Your Apple Watch will estimate your measurements during workouts based on the information that you entered during setup, but you can further improve its accuracy using these tips:
Wearing your Apple Watch regularly can improve the accuracy of the Activity and Workout apps.
Choose the Workout that best matches what you’re doing. For example, if you're running on a treadmill, choose Indoor Run.
For GPS accuracy when you walk, run, or cycle outdoors, select the appropriate Workout and bring your iPhone. This will also help calibrate the accelerometer in Apple Watch for times when you don’t have GPS, such as during treadmill workouts or when you're running outside without your phone.
To get the most accurate heart rate measurement when you use Workout, make sure your Apple Watch fits snugly on top of your wrist. The heart rate sensor should stay close to your skin.
You can also use another heart rate monitoring device, such as a chest strap. To pair an external heart rate monitor with your Apple Watch, tap the Settings app on the Home screen, then tap Bluetooth and select it under Health Devices. Learn more about the Apple Watch heart rate sensor, its accuracy, and its limitations.

  • Apple Watch calorie burn

MY Apple Watch is showing a much lower calorie burn, about half, compared to equipment at my gym and other apps such as Runkeeper. Why is this? I was expecting a difference but not that much. For example of the cross trainer I work out for 40 minutes with my heart beat over 170, the cross trainer says 55o calories, the Runkeeper app is similar and the watch was 240 calories.

    Greetings Janebi1,
It seems you are concerned about the workout results after using your Apple Watch. The article below may help you calibrate your Apple Watch for better results:

  • Calendar not showing on Apple Watch

I have different calendars set up on my iPhone 6plus, one of them is from Google Apps. And It is turned on on my calendar app on the iPhone but it is not showing on my apple watch. If I turn on my other iCloud calendars they do show but not the google address which is the one I use by default And that I use the most.
ON the apple apple watch I have it set it up as "Mirror my iPhone"
    ANy ideas to fix this?
    THank you.

I was wrong, I found the preference on the iPad to add the US Holidays calendar, which dupicated the "Home" calendar.
The iCloud calendar still does not include the US Holidays calendar.

  • Calendar app contains multiple entries for birthday calendar and Apple US Holiday's calendar.

After the most recent update, my calendar app began showing duplicate entries for all of my calendars (google, birthday and US Holidays). I deleted all of the google calendars from my phone and then added each calendar back to the phone one at a time. After doing this, there were no more duplicate entries for the google calendars. However, I have been unable to fix the duplicate entries for the Apple birthday calendar or the Apple US Holidays subscribed calendar. I tried restoring the iPhone, but that didn't work. I then tried to delete the birth date from various phone contacts, but even though I had removed the contact's birthday, the duplicate birthday entries on the calendar remained. I tried changing the contacts' birth date (i.e. altering the month or year), but that didn't update on the calendar either. I'm using an iPhone 5, ios 7.1.1. I do not sync any calendars with iCloud and when I show the birthdays calendar in iCloud, there are not any duplicate entries. Any suggestions?

Literally, no.  You will not find a single identical application for all.  Apps that are written for the iPhone and iPad have optimizations specific to those platforms, while computer programs will be at least slightly different as they will have optimized features specific to them.
You could look throught the APp store for something you like for the iOS devices, then check the developer's site to see if they also make something equivalent or near so for desktop and laptop computers.
The best you can find is separate applications (albeit maybe from one developer and designed to work as companion apps) that share data seemlessly somehow, but none will be without glitches at times - just the nature of anything that tries to syncronize multiple devices frequently over the internet.
I use Week Calendar on my iPhone and iPad, Calendar in OS X, and Outlook at work.  I do not use iCloud to sync calendars, but use separate Google Calendars for personal, and work calendars, linked through my google accounts to those programs on all my devices.  Its worked pretty well for the past 3 or 4  years for me.  However, I do use google sync for the Outlook calendar, and you cannot get that any longer (google killed it off, but keeps it working for legacy users).
That's just my setup, but no single app or program exists that I could use for all that (or even just for the Apple machine's alone).

  • How do I get rid of the Apple Watch ad that's just appeared as an app icon on my iPhone 6 Plus?

Ad for Apple Watch has just appeared on my iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 8.3)--how do I get rid of it? Holding the button down to get jiggly app icons doesn't help--it doesn't have a Delete "x"; neither does it appear as an app in settings. I'm a bit unhappy about this appearing unbidden, out of the blue. If I want ads/demos, I'll download them. No call for pushing them onto my phone.

If I want ads/demos, I'll download them. No call for pushing them onto my phone.
It's not an ad/demo.  It's the app needed to use the Apple Watch with your iphone.  Like all apps that are part of the iOS, it can't be deleted.
