Calendar appointment alarms disparity

My Blackberry synchs with BES. I am finding that when I make a desktop appointment, setting the alarm for 15 minutes, I get the alarm going off as soon as the appointment is synched to my Blackberry, regardless of how far into the future the appointment is. When I check the alarm setting I find that it is set for thousands of minutes before the appointment (I suspect this is the number of minutes between current time and the appointment). When I check the alarm setting for the appointment on my desk calendar the alarm setting has not changed - it is what I originally set. Any ideas?

Strangely enough, it has started working properly.  The only thing that's different, is that I've added the BBAlerts application.
I would still have thought that an alarm would go off at the appointment time, even if a reminder has been set (and sounded), but it doesn't.  Fore example, if an appointment is set for 1300 hrs, with a reminder set to go off 15 minutes earlier, I'd expect an alarm at 1245 and 1300 hrs, but I only get one at 1245 hrs.
If I have a reocurring appointment every Monday and Friday and the reminder sounds 15 mins prior to the appointment time, if I press DISMISS, will it dismiss just that reminder, or ALL reminders.  Hopefully it'll just dismiss the current reminder!

  • Calendar appointment alarm

Hello, your help with this is appreciated.
I use my calendar with appoinments a lot but the reminder is only a flashing led. I want a chime of some kind. Any suggestions on how I can do this or an app that will do this.  I know I can set an alarm but an alarm is not an appoinment and I like the features the appointment has.
    Thanks for helping.
    Best,
    Sophia

  • Outlook 2013 window missing Last Modified By information for Sharepoint 2010 calendar appointment

We have been running Sharepoint 2010 for about a year now, along with Office 2010. We have recently begun testing the upgrade to Office 2013. What we've found is that when in Outlook 2013 viewing a synced Sharepoint 2010 calendar appointment, you no longer
see the Last Modified By information at the bottom right-hand corner of the window. If you try viewing a shared Exchange calendar's appointment that is not on Sharepoint, you do see this information.
Can anyone else confirm this, and suggest whether anything can be done to restore the functionality?

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you can’t see the “Last modified by” information at the bottom right-hand corner of the window when you view a synced SharePoint 2010 calendar appointment in Outlook 2013.
In my environment, I create a calendar event in Outlook 2013, and the result is that I can’t see the “Last modified by” information at the bottom right-hand corner of the event window when I click on this event.
It’s by design that it will not show the “Last modified by” information at the bottom right-hand corner of the event window when we click on this event in Outlook 2013.
As a workaround, I recommend that you can follow the steps as below to change the current view to list view and show the information.
      1.  Open your calendar in Outlook 2013, go to “View“ tab, click on “Change View”, select the “Manage Views”.
      2.  Select the “List” view, click on the “Modify”, click on the “Columns”, select available columns from: All Mail fields, select the “Changed by” to add and move it up.
      3.  Go back to the “Change view”, select the “List” view and it will show all the calendar events with the “Changed by” information in a list.
And, if you want to set other settings of the current “List” view, you can click on the “View Settings” to modify it.

  • Outlook Calendar Appointment Custom Form Finding Contacts

I have an Outlook Calendar appointment custom form with a button to enter contacts. When the user presses the button, it brings up a window that starts in the user's own contact folder. Since the user of this application is supposed to use contacts in
a designated public folder instead of their own personal contacts, they have to drill down through public folders to get to the right place. Is there a way to have the window open up pointing to the folder I want them to use, so they don't have to drill down
each time? Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

    Hi Linda,
I cannot find a way to achieve this. However, if you just want to click the Contacts button to select the attendee, we can just add the Address Book button to the Quick Access Toolbar. To do this, go to File > Options > Quick Access Toolbar, select
All Commands and find out Address Book, then click Add button.
Now, when you create an appointment, you can just click the Address Book button from the QAT to open the contacts. (First, please make sure you have adjusted the display order as my first reply)

  • Why Can't I Delete or Edit a Calendar Appointment on My iPhone?

Why are my only choices "Accept" "Maybe" "Decline" for all calendar appointments pushed in from my Outlook calendar? I only have the choice to "Edit" calendar appointments when I create the calendar appointment on my iPhone itself. For all pushed in calendar appoinments, I can only "Decline" the appointment and then recreate it on my iPhone to be able to change it. This is annoying because I don't want to have to go through my calendar and "Accept" or "Decline" all my appointments, especially since this emails me that I have accepted or declined!

    Wienderful,
Make sure your email address on the iPhone and the Exchange server are the same. This article explains more:

  • Getting alarms for events in delegate calendar, but alarm not set in event

I use iCal as a front-end to Google Apps calendar (gCal). I am using the CalDAV interface to gCal. I set up iCal to sync 1) with my gCal and 2) with 2 other gCals, of business associate, via iCal delegates. This is mostly working. In iCal I see the events for all 3 calendars and syncing seems OK.
The problem is that for one of the delegate calendars, I get Alarm pop-ups for every event scheduled by that colleague. In most cases I am not an attendee in the event. When I look at the event settings, in this delegate calendar, the "Alarm" is set to none.
I'd really like to stop getting this extraneous Alarm pop-ups. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Actually, not quite ditto. I am not using gCal. I have a CalDAV server, with two calendars served, my wife's and mine. Each of us is a delegate of the other. On iCal on her computer, she has "ignore alerts" set for all my calendars, and this works. However, she gets the alerts on her iphone. I cannot find an option to "ignore alerts" for the iPhone calendar app. What am I missing here?

  • Is it possible to get calendar appointment to have to be dismissed instead of going away once you unlock phone?

I'm looking to see if it is possible to get calendar appointments to stay on the notification screen instead of disappearing once the phone is unlocked. Basically I want to have to dismiss all appointments on my phone. Is this possible?

If you go into Settings>Notifications>Calendar, you can set that notification alert style to Alert, which I believe causes you to have to dismiss the alert before you can do anything else on the device. It will take me a couple of minutes to test this, since it will require me to make some changes to my device, but you might want to look at that. When you receive a notification for a calendar alert, I know you can swipe that alert and I see that individual calendar appointment displayed on the screen. I'm not aware of another method to display your daily calendar on the home screen when getting notifications.
EDIT: I was correct. If you just unlock the phone, this dismisses the notification and will bring you to the home screen, no other information about the appointment. However, if you do not just unlock the phone and swipe the calendar notification on the screen it will bring you to that particular calendar notice. It will not, however show you other future appointments. That would require you to enter the calendar application.

  • Outlook Appointments received as email not calendar appointment

Using enterprise server.  some outlook appointments are being received as an email calendar notification; not a calendar appointment that shows on my calendar.  I have V4.7.1.6.1 and my assistant has V5.0.0.975 and his BB Tour 9630 does not have this problem.

    Hi,
What’s the procedure when you assign task?
When I assign task to others, they can Accept or Decline this task in the message. If we attach this task as attachment, they will receive this message with task as attachment and just can view this task, no accept, no decline.

  • Outlook 2013 Changing Shared Calendar Appointment Categories causes error The Operation failed the messaging interfaces have returned an unknown error

    Hi
Our user used to be able to change the categories in a shared outlook calendar appointment but is now getting the error:
The Operation failed the messaging interfaces have returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook.
We have tried re-creating the mail profile but still get the same error.
If anyone has any other suggestions, that would be great, thanks.

Glad to hear that it works fine in new profile. It seems your old OST file or other file in profile is corrupted. After you create a new profile, Outlook would re-sync your mailbox to a totally new OST as the data file.

  • Lotus Notes's Calendar Appointment Form

    Hi
I am facing a typical problem regarding extracting data from Lotus Notes Calendar Appointment Form through Java programme.
I need to check the appointment of a user on a particular day so that I can fix the meeting in order to avoid the clash with user's existing appointment.
So, I am running a sql query like select description, TimeRange (A field in Appointment from if you open it in Designer) from Appointment where startdate = "2001-06-27".
Now, It is showing me StartDateTime, Description.I am getting StartDateTime,Description and Date but not able to extract EndDateTime. I need EndDateTime so that I can make out that user is busy for some job from 3 to 4 pm let us say for this particular date so, fix the meeting at some another time.
I hope i have cleared my doubt. Please let me know the solution of above problem. My mail id is [email protected] and [email protected]

  • Calendar appointment reverting when reminder is dismissed.

    Exchange Server 2010 v14.01.0438
    iPhone5S 16GB
    iOS 8.1.3 (12B466)
One user in particular has witnessed (randomly) calendar appointments on her iPhone revert to a previously scheduled time/date when a reminder alert is dismissed on her iPhone. The result is the appointment is changed on her Exchange calendar to the previously scheduled time, but it does not affect any other invitees' calendars. She IS the organizer, so the appointment is not changing/sending an update to invitees, it's just reverting on her calendar only...
    Troubleshooting steps:
I have removed and recreated the mail profile on her iPhone and installed available patches on the Exchange server.

If you go into Settings>Notifications>Calendar, you can set that notification alert style to Alert, which I believe causes you to have to dismiss the alert before you can do anything else on the device. • E71 (S60) Calendar reminder alarm too long (1 minu...

Using an E71, but suspect this is an S60 issue:
Why does the Calendar reminder alarm last for an entire minute repeat the tone continuously until 60 seconds have elapsed? While other alarms like sms, email only invoke the tone once?
As an ex-Palm Treo user, I was used to being able to set the number of times I can repeat the tone (e.g. 1, 2 ,3 times).
How do I configure the phone such that the calendar reminder only triggers the (e.g. beep) tone, 2 or 3 times? I couldn't find any config on that. Is there any work-around or 3rd party software that can do this?

I also have this. My outlook calendar is the key and I like to have reminders. The fact that the alarm goes of during 1 minute sound is terribly annoying, I'd just like to have a reminder with a SMS-like sound, something I can customize at least (sound + duration + number of times it repeats...).
Anyone has info about this? I am using a E71 too.

  • Enter a calendar appointment and it immediately disappears!

    Hello,
I just entered a calendar appointment into my iPad and it immediately disappears!  What is the point of typing something into an application and it is displayed briefly and then disappears????  Whose bright idea was this user interface?
I'm done.  I thought using an iPad and iPhone and synching with my Windows calendar was supposed to make my life easier.
I'm back to using paper and pencil.  I don't have time to deal with this type of issue.
I look forward to getting rid of my iPad and iOS7.  iPhone is close behind.

Problem solved. I just turned the calendar preference off on the iPad and then turned it on again and presto! It re-booted itself and began syncing. Ain't technology grand??? ps...thanks AppleCare!

  • Calendar appointment invites are shifted 1 hour (...

    Hi
When I send a calendar appointment invitation from my lumia 900 to my girlfriend's lumia 800, the time of the appointment is shifted by 1 hour on her phone only. This means that when I make an appointment at 2 pm to 5 pm, it shows up as 3 pm to 6 pm on her phone. I have a Hotmail account and she has a Live account.
Am I the only one with this problem and can it be fixed?

    Hi Dalle,
    Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
Check the time zone settings both on the phone and the accounts, because it may be that either your or her device/account has been set to a different time zone. As the appointments are usually supposed to happen on the same hour regardless of the time zone, the starting time will be automatically adjusted. You can check the time zone setting on the phone by navigating to Settings > Date + time (if set automatically is on, turn it off to check the timezone settings).
Let us know how you get on!
