Calendar appointments duplicate when entered in Outlook

I got a 8330 Curve with Verizon service through my place of employment.  When I enter a calendar appointment in my desktop Outlook, my BB Calendar will show the same appointment twice.  When I delete the duplicate appointment on my BB, it deletes everything from my Outlook calendar.  Is there a fix for this?  Thanks.

If you are having errors in your Calendar or Address Book on your BlackBerry, and you wish to delete the entire Calendar (or Address Book) database on your BlackBerry, follow the directions below. Make certain you have a good copy of your Calendar or Contacts elsewhere, as this procedure will complete delete ALL Calendar entries and/or Address Book entries on your BlackBerry.
1. Open Desktop Manager on your PC.
2. Open up Backup/Restore > Advanced.
3. From Advanced you'll see a split pane screen. The left pane is what is going to be backed up from your device and the right is a list of the currently existing databases.
3. Highlight on the right side your Address Book database (or your Calendar database) and click the arrow in the middle pointing to the left. This will copy the information over and prepare it for back-up.
4. Once the back-up has completed, hit the Clear button at the bottom to erase and clean out the entire address book database (or Calendar database).
5. After it's finished, it will ask you if you want to save the back-up you've created, say yes and check the device to make sure the address book (or calendar) has been properly cleared out. Now, resync the necessary contact information and you should be set to go.
If I help you with any inquire, thank you for click kudos in my post.

When I try to synchronise my calendar it all goes wrong when I have recurring appointments which I enter on Outlook. These are in the format ' first Tuesday of each month' as I play Bridge with different partners on different days each month so it is NOT every 4 weeks necessarily, it depends on the month.  These get lost on synchronisation or sometimes end up on a totally different day/date.  What can I do as it is very annoying.
Also it altered some theatre dates where I had entered both date and name of play - the name of the play vanished when I synchronised not just on i-pad but it deleted the info from Outlook as well.

Others have the same complaint.  iCal on the iPad can do recurring appointments, but not in the format you want (First Tuesday of every Month).  It will do the same DATE each month (e.g, the 25th of each month), but for now it does not do a particular DAY of each month.

Try to reset the iPod by  pressing the home and sleep button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data doing a reset, but it can clear some glitches after installing new software or apps.

  • Desktop manager wants to delete calendar appointments in both bb and outlook.

I have had my bb 8330 since last August.  I have had to delete and reinstall desktop manager multiple times due to various problems.  Recently I sync'd and lost appointments in both the bb and in outlook.  DM will not allow me to override the flagging to delete.  I deleted DM and reinstalled the newest version with media, attempted to resync and it still wants to delete.  Currently I have 40+ appointments in the bb that are not in outlook (they had been at some point).  I also have appointments in Outlook that the sync wants to delete from the bb.  On top of this, I have lost contacts I didn't realize until I tried to use them (appear to have been deleted by the bb from my outlook).
The "Details to confirm calendar edits" window box in desktop manager allows clicking to view the entry but does not allow me to override the status of either delete or add so I cannot change the deletions to additions, etc.
I looked in the options in DM to see if there was a place where I could change a setting which would allow me to override the status but couldn't find anything.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Otherwise I think the only way to fix it is to write down all of my appointments in both the bb and outlook, attempt a sync and re-enter all the appointments again.  Time consuming!!  And if I need to do that I may as well go back to a hardcopy calendar.
A friend suggested that if there is too much data in the bb that it will only keep the newest entries and maybe that is why I have lost some data.
So, along those lines can someone tell me how to do a mass delete of e-mails on the bb directly?  I know how to delete one e-mail but cannot figure out how to flag more than one.
    Thanks!  motomom3

on the device if you open messages, highlight the newest one you want to delete, click menu button, and click delete prior, this will delete eveything older than it.
if you plug into DTM, goto backup/restore - advanced... you can completely clear the messages database
what DTM and device sofwtare do you have?
    DTM- help-about
device- options- about, 3rd line down, v4.x.x.x
you can go to c:\documents and settings\(your username)\research in motion\blackberry\   and delete the intellisync folder
then go in and setup sync settings again

  • Calendar appointments not quite showing in Outlook 2007

    Hi,
I'm syncing my calendar on my iPhone to Outlook 2007 via MobileMe. When I create an appointment on the iPhone, it will sync and I can see it in Outlook on the to do bar next to my email preview pane.
However, when I go to the calendar I don't see the appointment. I only have one calendar so I don't know where the appointments are going?
    Anyone got a solution?
    Many thanks

I have this same problem when syncing with my itouch. My appointments do not show when displaying day/week/month but do show when all appointments are viewed. I checked Microsoft Outlook 2007 support and they say the problem is with the new apple itunes update and that apple needs to fix it.

  • How can i get my icloud calendar appointments to appear in the outlook to-do bar?

I find the upcoming appointments in Outlook's To-Do Bar really useful but since synching with icloud they are no longer there. I know this is an ongoing issue and wondered if there was any up-to-date information on how to resolve it?

There has been no change, MS have yet to alter Outlook to more fully take advantage of iCloud.

  • Calendar synced elements behave strangely in Outlook

The syncing between my iPod and Outlook works perfectly most of the time.
However, when I create an event on my iPod, it is properly synced back to the Outlook calendar, but I am unable to right click on this new item in Outlook to access options. I can double-click to change the same options but it is quite irritating that you cannot right click.
    A bug?

go to your account settings for mail. email address is case sensitive, and must be input the way your company's network recognizes it. i.e. you may have put in [email protected], whereas the company network recognizes [email protected] as the appropriate name. This change will have an effect on all the activesync that occurs and will accordingly allow you to edit any and all calendar items that are entered through outlook.
i had the same problem, this fixed it.

  • Anyone else haveing a problem with appointments not syncing, duplicate appointments when syncing with Outlook? Also, noticed that my primary SMTP disappeared, and I had to re-establish to send e-mail. Apple tech support was worthless.

Anyone else haveing a problem with appointments not syncing, duplicate appointments when syncing with Outlook? Noticed the problem a couple of days ago.
Also, noticed that my primary SMTP disappeared, and I had to re-establish to send e-mail.
Apple tech support was worthless on both issues.

Hi I am also in the UK, but not with Tiscali and am having the exact same problems. I can also send with wifi, but not 3G. I have tried amending all sorts of settings, including those above and amending the smtp server to the settings for my provider, but all to no avail.
It is thoroughly frustrating, as I cannot send emails unless I have wifi access.
Any further suggestions would be very welcome.

  • Why do appointments duplicate in Outlook calendar

Appointment invitations in my Outlook Exchange calendar are duplicating when the originator, also on the same Outlook Exchange server, updates the original appointment on their iPhone.

  • Appointments not showing up in Outlook until calendar view is changed

I realize there are 3 other threads regarding this problem, but none of the answers have worked.  I've tried the "Outlook.exe /cleanviews" and I have made sure that the Month view is set to High Detail.  The problem persists that when the user
opens the calendar (defaulted to Month view, high detail) only the recurring appointments are displayed.  The non-recurring appointments will show up after the user switches to week, day, or schedule view and then back to month view.

Are they using account with Exchange online mode or cache mode?
Does the calendar item store in OST file, PST file or mailbox database (online mode)? If you are using cache mode, please try to rename the old OST file or create a new PST, and then create a new non-recurring calendar item to check the result.
Please let me know the result when you launch Outlook with safe mode.
By the way, you've not detailed the Outlook version and Exchange version. Feel free to post back. Thanks.

  • Outlook 2003 & Recurring Calendar Appointments

I am using Windows XP, Microsoft Exchange Server, with an itouch. If Outlook and itunes were open at the same time, or Outlook was opened after itunes, Outlook would fail to properly operate and would respond: Outlook0.ost is in use and could not be accessed.
For me, this problem was solved be eliminating all recurring appointments in Outlook that did not have an end date. Once end dates for all recurring appointments were set, outlook seems to behave properly now.

I am having the same issue and the article you're suggesting only relates to a Mac operating system. Whereas I do own a Mac (Mac Mini & Macbook), this issue is occuring when I'm attempting to sync my iPhone with my calendar & contacts at the office.
I just recently upgraded to Office 2007 from Office 2003 and now when I try to sync, it seems to get stuck during the syncing of contacts. I am just an end user and my company does not support iPhone so there aren't any changes I can make to the exchange server, etc....
Please help!!!! I desperately need access to my updated calendar appointments.

  • HT1386 When I sync outlook for mac 2011 calendar to iPhone the dates are repeated?

When I sync outlook for mac 2011 calendar to iPhone the dates are repeated?

OK, I think I figured it out, with Apple's iCloud instructions and a little help from campus tech support. This only applies to people using Outlook with Microsoft Exchange.
Enable iCloud on your computer (running Lion) and your iPhone. http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html
Then go to your iPhone's Mail icon, click on Add Account > Microsoft Exchange and enter your login info.
Doing this transferred my work email and calendar to my phone wirelessly.

  • O365 OWA & Outlook 2010/13 shared mailbox - duplicates when moving items

    Hi Support
I have been directed to ask this question in the IT Pro forum.
    Previous thread:
    http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/158/p/281263/859737.aspx#859737
Issue: I have noticed an issue whereby a duplicate mail item is created when a mailbox is shared between 2x users and the users move mail items at the same time (or within a short period (say 30seconds) before the next sync). Both users have the O365
email account programmed directly into their Outlook (not using sharing permissions).
Replicated issue: If user1 moves a mail item from say the inbox to a folder, then (within 30-60seconds) user2 also moves that same mail item from the inbox item to another folder (before the sync of user1's actions show up on user2's Outlook),
then a duplicate of the email is created in both folders. I can replicate this issue in O365 OWA, Outlook 2010, Outlook 2013 and on different O365 tenancies.
    So my questions are:
    1. Is this is a limitation of Outlook/O365 sync capability?
    2. What would be the best option to stop this from occurring, assuming both users need to access the same email information?
    What do you guys think?
    Kind Regards
    Aaron

    Hi,
    Another reference point...
    When to use Online Mode
Online Mode is the legacy method of connecting to Microsoft Exchange. It is a fully supported configuration in Office Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, and Outlook 2010. Online Mode has value in certain scenarios in which the behavior of Cached Exchange Mode is
unwanted. Example scenarios include the following:
“Kiosk” scenarios in which a particular computer has many users who access different Outlook accounts and the delay to download e-mail messages to a local cache is unacceptable.
Heavily regulated compliance or secure environments in which data must not be stored locally for any reason. In these environments, we recommend that you evaluate Encrypting File System (EFS) or BitLocker in addition to Cached Exchange Mode as a potential
    solution.
Very large mailboxes on computers that do not have enough hard disk space for a local copy of the mailbox.
Very large mailboxes (greater than 25 GB) on which performance considerations become an issue in Cached Exchange Mode.
Virtualized or Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services) environments that run Outlook 2007 or Outlook 2003. Cached Exchange Mode is not supported when you run Outlook 2007 or Outlook 2003 on a computer running Remote Desktop Services (Terminal
    Services).
Virtualized or Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services) environments that run Outlook 2010 on which disk size or disk input/output (I/O) limitations prevent running Cached Exchange Mode at the desired scale.
If you work with a very large mailbox, you can reduce the size of the local data file by using synchronization filters. For more information, see
Create a synchronization filter (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=193917) and
Optimizing Outlook 2007 Cache Mode Performance for a Very Large Mailbox (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=193918).
If you work with a very large mailbox on which performance considerations become an issue in Cached Exchange Mode, see
How to troubleshoot performance issues in Outlook (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=193920).
    Thanks & Regards

  • When I enter events in my calendar to quickly, when it auto-syncs it will revert back to my old event.

When I enter events in my calendar to quickly, when it auto-syncs it will revert back to my old event.
If I have two calendars in use, if I use one (say red "home") and decide I want to change it to another (say green "work") it will revert back
I've called Apple, been in the store to meet numerous "geniusus" and no one can figure it out. Most apple assistants tell me over the phone that "that is not possible", well it is possible and the so-called "geniuses" have seen and confirmed it is possible but to this point the only thing "impossible" is solving the problem.
NOTHING MORE FRUSTRATING THAN PUTTING AN APPOINTMENT IN MY CALANDAR ONLY TO MISS IS BECAUSE OF AN APPLE ERROR

    Naughty,
You are posting a Pages question in the Numbers forum.  I am going to ask thie be moved to the Pages forum.  In addition please post a screenshot.  Based on playing with a chart in Pages, I do not think the charts take their input from a table, but rather, you enter the data by clicking the chart (to activate it), then clicking the button "Edit Chart Data":
manually editing the entries in the table:
I would think you want to have a table in Numbers to create the data, then copy and paste the data into the data table for the chart (I wouldn't type it in)

  • Can Outlook 2007 Calendar Appointments sync over the Air

    Hi,
I have an Iphone 3GS and i wonder if my Outlook 2007 calendar appointments sync over the air as my e-mails do.

As Chris said, you can use MobileMe which provides other handy features as well. Gmail is a good free alternative see here for one way to import. Then see here for instructions to setup google sync on your iPhone.
