Calendar + Badges

Is there any way of getting a badge to show up on the calendar icon when there is something scheduled for today? For example a birthday, I don't want to set an alarm, just have a visual cue to check the calendar today...
Any ideas? Or any apps that will sync with iCal on my mac?
Thanks
Phil

Not using the native calendar, look at other programs and/or task managers, note managers like Awesome Note and 2Do etc.

  • Calendar badge Still visible

I created an event from a link. It made the event on the calendar. I invited someone to the event who declined the invite. Now the calendar has a badge on it and I can't make it go away. In the lower right corner of the calendar it has inbox (1). When I tap on that the badge does not go away. I went back to the email and there is no badge there, as it has been read. How do I remove this badge?

on a bold 9700, go to your calendar, press the bb menu key, select OPTIONS then GENERAL CAL OPTIONS and scroll down to enable SHOW TASKS.

  • What does this number mean and how do I get rid of it?

The number 1 in hte red circle, what is it, why is it there and how do I get rid of it?

    From Calendar help:
Reply to an invitation received in Calendar
Click the Notifications button (in the top-left corner).
The Notifications button shows how many invitations you have. If you don’t have any invitations, it isn’t available.
If you have Calendar badges turned on in Notifications preferences, the Calendar icon in the Dock also shows how many invitations you have.
Click Accept or Decline. You can also click Maybe for an event invitation.

  • How do I get rid of the badge app icon on my macbook desktop calendar app?

This icon won't go away and I don't know how to get rid of it in any of the calendar's settings, system preferences etc. Please help!

If  you have not tried this already, try this.
    System Preference > Notifications
Select Calendar and uncheck the  box beside "Badge app icon".

  • In Calendar app for iOS 6, behavior of badges is inconsistent

My company has a good number of iPhones and iPads using Activesync to access our Exchange 2007 email environment. We have noticed that the behavior of "badges" in the Calendar seems inconsistent or inapporpriate.
Example: UserA has iPhone and iPad, both running iOS 6, and Outlook 2007 under Windows 7.. Both iOS devices share the same AppleID.
UserA receives a Calendar invitation. The invitation shows up on all three devices as an email. The "badge" count indicating the number of unresponded-to Calendar invitations count increments by 1 on iPad and iPhone. So far, so good.
UserA opens the invitation on the iPad and accepts or delines the invitation. The badge count decrements by one on both iPad and iPhone. Again, so far, so good.
But if UserA opens the invitation on the iPhone and accepts/declines, the badge count decrements on the iPhone, but NOT on the iPad. Doesn't make any difference how long he waits; refreshing mail on the iPad has no effect on badge count.
This (mis) behavior seems quite consistent. Do we have a setting wrong somewhere, or is this a known bug? I should say the badge counts on a number of my iPhone and iPad applications behave in, let's say, an unusual or uninformative manner. But this behavior in an enterprise environment is driving my CIO crazy.

Search the app store. There are several MS Office compatible apps. Quickoffice and Documents to Go are two to look into, but there are more. Numbers can certainly be used "offline" and personally I prefer it to many of the othes available (and you should be able to download a prior version: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5919). Depending on the specific needs, however, there may not be a substitute for Excel on a computer. No iOS spreadsheets apps handle pivot tables, for example, or include the ability to use macros.

  • Badge on calendar icon

I am using Snow Leopard. Just recently I noticed a badge 1 on the dock icon, and a calendar itself has the number 1 next to its name. I'm sure this is a trivial question, but I can't figure out what the number belongs to.

    Greetings,
The number indicates you have notifications waiting that have not been reviewed. Click on the small envelope button the lower left corner of iCal or go to the Window Menu > Show Notifications and then accept / decline the pending notifications.
    Cheers.

  • Unread Badge On Calendar

A red unread badge has mysteriously appeared on my icloud.com cleandar icon.  Where would an unread calendar event be found, especially since I haven't added anything to my calendar since seeing this unread badge?  The unread badge does not appear on my iphone or ipod or imac.  It only appears on my work desktop pc on the icloud.com website.  How can I reamove it?  Thanks for any help.

Scroll through your calendar and see if you accidentally added an event or something. It's possible that your iPhone, iPod, and Mac aren't synced to your iCloud.com calendar, which would explain why you aren't seeing the badge there.

  • Calendar Red Badge Notifications

Hi all, new iPhone user here.
Could someone please tell why I am not getting red badge notifications on the calendar icon. This is really frustrating!

    Thanks,
I don't/can't have MS exchange as the set up for outlook emails as they are via BT and in pop format 9correct me me if wrong) I only meant it was a bit of a pain as I would have thought the red badge should appear for any entry put in the calendar inrespective of the service it goes though. After all does the notification come from the info stored on the phone?
As for third party apps, I was hopeing that things like RSS and twitter items would show which they don't seem to (I am using Fee RSS and Twitbit) I don't have to many subscriptions through these so red blindness would not be a problem but it would be nivce to know when stuff come in without checking periodically.
Perhaps I am doing this all wrong do you have any hints or suggestions.
    Many thanks
    Andrew

  • Calendar app never shows red badges

I like the default calendar app but would like it to show red badges when there are events that I haven't looked at to check. I have seen others get these so why dont I?
Are there any other calendar apps that show the red badge?
    Mike

    Howdy Mike,
It sounds like you want a red notification badge to appear on the Calendar app which is in the dock on your Mac. You can enable this feature from System Preferences, as described in the article linked below.
OS X Mavericks: Change Notification Center preferences
    Badge app icon
Let the app show the number of notifications on its Dock icon.
    Cheers,

  • Calendar: Microsoft Exchange badge on Invitations

We have an executive in our company where their admin solely administers their Calendar via Outlook.  The exec has been inadvertantly managing/accepting/declining/etc meetings via the Invitations box on the iPhone Calendar when only the admin should.  They do not recieve the notifications via their Outlook client per an Exchange setup or rule, but they still see the meeting requests via a red badge in the iPhone Calendar.  I've turned off calendar audio alerts and the badge notifier on Calendar so that attention is not brought to it.  Is there a way to turn the badge off on notification or any other suggestions?
    Exchange 2010
    iOS: 6.0.1
    iPhone 4S
Here is a flow(from left to right).
    1. New meeting invite is recieved, admin has not accepted yet... Invitations shows a badge(1).  If opened, the reply options offered are Mabey, Accept, Decline.
    2. AFTER the admin accepts/manages the meeting invite there is still a badge(1) on Invitations.  However, the dialog prompt of Mabey, Accept, Decline, changes to OK.
The badge under Invitations will not go away until OK is selected.  That tells me that Exchange is properly communicating the status of the invite so I would have to think that the knob/setting to turn would be on the iOS side.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Are you actually adding your contacts to the correct address book on the phone?
Go into Contacts and tap the 'Groups' button in the upper left. Look at the groups that are there and see which one your contacts are in. If you've set it to sync with Hotmail, and the contacts are not being stored in hotmail, then they won't sync there...

  • Incorrect iCloud badge counts – calendar/reminders

My iCloud badge counts are way off, and getting worse every day – specifically the calendar and reminder counts.
Every day they just increase, without me using either app on my iPhone/iPad/Mac. When I open them up, there's no apparent reason for the badges at all. They should be 0, or rather, not there.
Here's a video showing some of the strange behaviour my account is exhibiting. The calendar count goes from 11 to 0 by just opening the calendar. Upon logging in again, it's back to 11, or even more.

    Any ideas?

I haven't yet, but I can give it a go. Quite a lot of devices linked up; iPhone, iPad, MBP, 2x iMacs!
It's really strange that it's only on icloud.com. None of my devices are showing any odd notifications/erroneous data.

  • Badges on Reminders and Calendar icons

I don't seem to be able to get badges displayed on home screen icons for Calendars and Reminders. I would like to be able to see at a glance how many Reminders I have that are due today and how many appointments are scheduled for today.
    Any ideas?

  • Notification badge for calendar

Hi guys, do you not think a 'Notification Badge' would be useful for calendar on iPhone 4? I tend to miss the important alerts! Especially, for example, when on the front it shows maybe 3 alerts and after you logged into your phone you only see two red badges!!

Seems to have solved itself on it's own.

  • Why doesn't the badge app icon ever appear in the calendar app?

I have the badge app icon turned on in notifications and also view in lock screen, but whenever I add an event or something the badge app icon doesn't show anything after the alert sounds. Can someone explain this?
