Calendar broken on my iPhone

Well here is the problem.
Ever since I synced iPhone Calendar with Google Calendar, the following would happen:
-When I open the calendar, and tap a date, it will freeze and I am unable to tap anything. I can either press the sleep or home button, both of which have a 4-8 second delay before they actually work. I also tried waiting to see if it would un-freeze itself after tapping a calendar date, it didn't.
-When I go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> and into my calendars options, it will freeze when I try to delete the account, and it will freeze when I try to change the values.
For control purposes, I tried deleting my email account from iPhone, which fetches my mail from gmail. It worked instantly. On the other hand, anything I do with the Calendar, it freezes!
Now I've already tried a restore, and I reloaded my backup, zero improvement; same issues.
I'm running iPhone version 2.1, again this issue began after I synced my google calendar with my iPhone 3G using MS Exchange.
I synced google calendar and my iPhone 3G using this method: http://www.ianfernando.com/2008/sync-google-calendar-with-iphone-3g/
This phone is three weeks old.

Nuevasync bloged about the issue (the app have to make a full resync)

  • How can I remove calendar alerts from my iPhone?

My iPhone 4 (iOS 6) seems to be adding calendar alerts on its own and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove them. I use iCal on my Macbook Pro (running Mountain Lion 10.8.2) to sync my calendar events. None of my events on iCal have alerts set to them and I have disabled all alerts in my iCal preferences. Yet, for some reason, when I look at a calendar event on my iPhone, an alert is set for it.
How do I remove these properly? I do not simply want to silence these alerts, but figure out how they got there in the first place and remove them completely. For comparison's sake, I've included an image of the event from iCal and the event from my iPhone.

    Hi pjdemeo,
I understand you want to delete all of the photos from your iPhone.  As a precaution, I would suggest importing the photos and videos from your iPhone into your computer.  This will give you a backup for the images, and after import you will be asked if you want to delete the photos.
Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201302
The iPhone User Guide has instructions for deleting photos directly from the device:
Organize photos and videos - iPhone
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/8/#/iphf14943e
Delete a photo or video from Photos. Tap the Photos tab, tap the photo or video, tap , then tap Delete Photo or Delete Video. Deleted photos and videos are kept in the Recently Deleted album on iPhone, with a badge showing the remaining days until the item is permanently removed from iPhone. To delete the photo or video permanently before the days expire, tap the item, tap Delete, then tap Delete Photo or Delete Video. If you use iCloud Photo Library beta, deleted photos and videos are permanently removed from all iOS 8.1 devices that use iCloud Photo Library beta with the same Apple ID.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • How do I delete a calendar event in my iphone?

How do I delete a calendar event in my iphone? It allows me to "edit" the event but not to totally delete it. Or at least I can't seem to find a "delete" option anywhere!

Did you create the event somewhere else?  A lot of time when u create it on lets say PC or mac, you wont be able to edit it unless its from the same device.
Its also possible its created under a mail account.  I would suggest making all your events via icloud, then u should be able to edit it on all platforms regardless on which device made the event.

  • Issue with Calendar not syncing with iPhone 3g

Issue with Calendar not syncing with iPhone 3g.
    Solution
Create backup of your entire mailbox before starting (THIS IS IMPORTANT)
Create offline folder (.pst file) Check windows help on how to do this for your version.
    Open folders view on Outlook
Right click on Calendar in tree view and 'copy to' offline .pst folder
Go back to main calendar view and delete all entries in your calendar.
Create simple cal entry and sync test with iphone
If this works then start dragging cal entries back from the offline folder into the main calendar then sync after each step....
I moved events in this order
    -Yearly recurrences (ie Birthdays)
    - Monthly recurrences
    - weekly recurrences
    - Daily recurrences
All appointments from the beginning of this year >> to the end of time!
If all these sync then the issue is with an older cal item and you have to decide if you actually need these in you current calendar.
I chose to leave these in the offline cal and if i need access them from there.
If at any point the sync fails then you know you have a corrupt cal entry in the block you just transferred. Move the offending items back into the offline folder and try again in smaller chunks until you identify the offending items and delete them and manually recreate them in your real calendar.
Also smart to run the inbox (.pst /.ost ) repair tools for your OS/Outlook version.
    Fixed so far
    XP Pro / Outlook 2008
    XP Pro /Outlook 2003

I just updated the firmware to iPhone 2.0.1 and the syncing works great both ways.

    Try This...

  • ICal calendars not syncing with iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0.2

I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0.2
I'm using iCal on my MBP running Mac OS 10.6.4
    I have a MobileMe account.
Never had an issue with calendars syncing with the iPhone previously.
I am using MobileMe Calendar Beta. This now displays my calendars in iCal under my MobileMe account name (eg. [email protected]) rather than the 'On My Mac' section that it use to.
I have five separate calendars in iCal on the Mac all named appropriately (eg. Work, Personal etc.) and all that appears on the iPhone is one calendar named 'Calendar' with no events in it??
I've used MobileMe (.Mac) and iPhone syncing for years and have them set up as I always have.
Does anyone have the same issues? Does anyone have any constructive advise?
    Thanks
    Jeff

    Devendra : pl wait...its syncing

Wendy G. : We will first switch the Contacts only to "off" and select "Delete" data.
Wendy G. : Then we will go back to Settings>Mail Contacts and Calendars and switch only the contacts to "On" and "Do not Merge" data, but we will need to wait until the syncing is complete OK?

Devendra : Switched it off but after turning On again, it didnt ask me for anything, simply the switch turned to On
Wendy G. : OK, thank you.
Wendy G. : Please place a test contact and a test event on the iPhone, and also place on your Mac, to verify if the syncing has resolved OK.

Wendy G. : OK, take your time.
Devendra : my contacts list on the phone is empty
Wendy G. : Yes, that is expected.
Wendy G. : Please put a test contact there and the information will refresh from www.me.com
Wendy G. : Also please verify your iPhone is set this way:
Wendy G. : Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>MobileMe account, tap it>Fetch new data>Set your Push to "on" and select "every 15 minutes please.
Devendra : yes, its that way only
Wendy G. : OK, thank you.
Devendra : Just as I was creating a new contact, all the contacts came back.
Wendy G. : Once you have the test event and contact on the iPhone and the Mac, please open www.me.com and verify when they arrive there!
Wendy G. : OK, very good, thanks Devendra!
Devendra : Bingo! Its syncing fine now.

How do I get my calendar to sync on iCloud?  I changed a calendar event on my iPhone 4 and it has not changed in Entourage on my MacBook.  This is supposed to be automatic, isn't it?

Entourage will not sync with iCloud, not now, probably not ever, time to change.

  • How can I add my icloud contacts and calendar back to my iphone?

As of last week, my iCloud contacts and calendar disappeared from my iPhone 4S. I was trying to do something with adding Outlook to my PC to access calendars for my children's school, and now I cannot get my iCloud contacts as a group (tried turning setting off then back on in Settings) and my iCloud calendar doesn't show up (tried turning this off then back on in Settings also - won't add it back) on my iPhone (iCloud account is intact on PC). It's as if iCloud isn't even an option any longer. PLEASE HELP!!

    Hello sstoller,
It sounds like you now have no iCloud Contacts or Calendar information on your iPhone.
There are articles for each I'd recommend checking out.

They both have troubleshooting sections to step through.

  • HT1296 I have a problem synching calendar data between my iPhone 3GS iOS 5.1 & Outlook 2007 on MS7.  The basic calendar is OK but the birthdays (little box icon) are a day early & cannot be changed to the correct date. How can I fix this?

I have a problem synching calendar data between my iPhone 3GS iOS 5.1 & Outlook 2007 on MS7.  The basic calendar data transfer is OK but the birthdays (little box icon) are a day early & cannot be changed to the correct date. The birthday entries in my Outlook contacts have correct dates. How can I fix this?

The following peocess corrects the calendar entry:
edit the contact & change the birthday, save the change; edit the contact & change the birthday to the correct value, save the change again. The calendar entry then displays on the correct date.  Alternatively as a temp solution I can just de-select the "birthdays" calendar which stops the icon being displayed.
Thanks for your advice, I think that it's n going to be a slow process to fix all the entries for not much return.

  • Contacts and Calendar have disappeared from iPhone

All my contacts and calendar entries have totally disappeared from my iPhone on 20.5.09. My free trial of MobileMe was due to end on 20.5.09, so on 17.5.09 I cancelled my subscription (didn't really use it). The only backup of my contacts/calendar was on MobileMe. Is it just a coincidence that my information has disappeared on the same day as my subscription ran out?!

When turning on over the air syncing for Contacts and Calendars with a MobileMe account on an iPhone, all contacts and calendar events on the iPhone are erased first and replaced with your MM online address book and calendar events. After the initial transfer from your MM online address book and calendar(s), contact info and calendar events are kept synchronized between the two.
Your MM online address book and calendar events are designed to be kept synchronized with the supported application or applications on your computer.
When a MM account is cancelled, the data on the MM "cloud" is no longer available.

  • Maverick won't permit syncing Address Book or Calendar by USB to iPhone or iPad and permits only syncing by iCloud, which I don't want to use.  Any ideas on how to sync without using iCloud?

Maverick won't permit syncing Address Book or Calendar by USB cable from my MacBook Air to my iPhone and iPad and permits  syncing only by iCloud.  Mountain Lion permitted this via the Info tab on iTunes.  I don't want to use iCloud.  Any ideas with Maverick on how to sync Address Book and Calendar from computer to iPhone and iPad without using iCloud?

ymcneil - thanks for the work around. But isn't it amazing Apple forces us to do this to maintain our privacy.
I live in Australia where there are good privacy laws protecting  citizens. I do not want to be forced to use iCloud when the data sits in  the USA with weaker privacy laws and also able to be seen by the US  Government under the Patriot Act. Further I suspect Apple will  interrogate my contacts and calendar for commercial purposes and I do  not want that either.
I  chose to synch my calendar and contacts with my iphone and ipad. I have  relied for years on carrying around my phone with my diary on it. I can  no longer do that.
Whoever  made this decision at Apple has to be someone who knows little about  the world. I can actually see EU regulators getting very annoyed by  this.
I too woud like the itunes mac to iphone/ipad local backup given back.
In the meantime - thanks for the work around

  • Incorrect time in Live when calendar event accepted on iphone

When accepting a calendar entry on the iPhone, scheduled for 10:00 PST, it appears in the calendar at the correct time but when the calendar syncs back to Live (Hotmail Calendar) it shows up in live at 2AM, thus an 9 hour difference.
Me time zone support on the iphone is set for Los Angeles and my Live calendar preferences are set to Pacific Time.
Here is how the calendar event got on the phone. From work, I scheduled a meeting with my home e-mail address using Lotus Notes at work. The invitation arrived on my iPhone and I accepted it into my personal Live calendar. (I have two Live calendars, my personal and the US Holidays that sync to the iphone)
On the iPhone it shows the correct time but on Live it shows 9 hours earlier!
Any suggestions on how to solve this problem?
    Thanks

    Barry,
As I indicated above, this is set and is correct, but for some reason things dont get scheduled on the default time zones.
