Calendar bug - half-year view glitch - Z10 10.2.1

BB10 calendar app's half-year view display has a bug that seems pretty disturbing because it is so basic:
1) Open calendar to month view (this is my default)
2) Swipe the content pane down to reveal the half-year view
3) Tap the current month - this dismisses the half-year view and takes you to the month view
4) Swipe the content pane down again to reveal the half-year view, then swipe right to view the prior half-year, then swipe left to get back to the current half-year.
The dates shown for the current month in the half-year view will be shifted.
I noticed this bug in April 2014.  The 1st of the month fell on a Tuesday.  But after doing the above described swipe sequence, the dates shown for just April, in the half-year view, are shifted forward, so that it incorrectly shows April 1 as falling on a Wednesday.  As I'm reporting this on April 30, it's unlikely to get reviewed by someone at BlackBerry in April, and I didn't try re-setting my device date to different months to see if the bug manifests for months other than April.  So, if a BlackBerry reviewer is going over this bug report later this year and cannot get the bug to manifest, they should re-set their device date to some date in April 2014.  However, as they investigate the bug, they should probably try to get it to manifest in other months, and maybe also in a leap year.
Note that if you do two right swipes in the half-year view, to go back to the prior year, then do two left swipes to again get back to the current year, the dates for the current month then line up correctly.
A bug like this really makes me lose trust in my calendar (a calendar is not a new research problem in software development, so if this is broken, what else is broken?)
Device/OS details:
STL100-3
Software release:  10.2.1.2156
OS Version: 10.2.1.2228

Confirmed that the same bad behavior is there now that the calendar has rolled forward to May.
Like I said this raises the question of what else is broken in the basic functionality of an essential app.
BlackBerry folks reading this - hope to you see you reproduce the bug, and acknowledge ingestion of a bug report into your internal bug tracking system, for priority fix on next OS release.
Others reading this, if you reproduce the bug (should be easy) - please add comments as you see fit, to get BlackBerry's attention on this one.

  • Calendar stuck in year view

On my iphone 4 using ios7.02 the calendar is stuck in year view.  There are no tabs.  I can't escape.  I tried quitting and restoring the phone, that did not work.  How do I get back to the classic month view with the tabs?

At the top of the calendar there is supposed to be a set of tabs for view: day, list, month, year.  On my phone, it is stuck in a year view with no tabs at the top.
In IOS7 the interface has changed, the year view do not have any tabs on top except Search (lupe icon) and a plus sign ( + ) on the right. If you hold the iPhone in Landscape mode (horizontally) you get a week's view.

  • Calendar - Year view??

My iPad had a superb calendar with a year view. Seems a shame iCal doesn't have this simple facility. Is there a way to get it, or a suitable (compatable) calendar that does?

iCal doesn't have the year view in Snow Leopard.
When you upgrade to Lion, iCal looks very much like the calendar on the iPad.

  • ICal year view colors

Is there a way to change the color of the calendar events when you are viewing the calendar in the Year View?
My wife and I both share each other's calendars. Her color is blue and mine is orange in the daily/weekly/monthly views it shows up with the corresponding colors. Yet, when I click on the year view I get this:
I can understand the days where we both have events listed being a different color, but it should at least display blue for the days that have events for her calendar and orange for mine but that's not the case. Any way to fix this? Or can someone explain to me why it shows these colors instead?

Anyone got any latest news update of this?
It makes absolutely no sense to me and makes year view poinless. I can't see multiple events.
I can't believe how awfully regressive iCal is to be honest. It's not the mainstay of what I do but every time I use it I end up saying, "why the **** won't it let me do that?" or "why have they done THAT?"
It's out of character with all the other Mac software that has always been useful and completely intuitive. ICal has been an orphan child for years and this Lion update has just papered over the cracks for me.
How about allowing scrolling from one month to the next? How about running the months of the year into each other, especially  in year view? We don't make a big distinction between 30th June and 1st July in real life so why treat then as a separate page and block them out? It's so frustrating it makes me angry.
I suppose it's like the arguments I used to have with PC users years ago. Yes it does everything, but it's not much fun doing it and fun has always been the Mac way.
Come on Apple, look into this. It's not 3D modelling. It's a bloody calendar!

  • Weeks numbers (year view)

    Yosemite, Calendar:
In the year view the week numbers are completely wrong? But in day, week and month are ok.
How could I see the correct numbers in the year view, please?
    Regards

there is unfortunately no year view available in ical at the moment.
may i suggest you send your suggestions to apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ical.html

  • Calendar week numbers in Yosemite do not show entirely in Year View

Sorry to say this but I'm actually a bit shocked at Apple's quality control to be posting this bug. Bugs are one thing but this is, in my view, absolutely unacceptable.
Calendar Week Numbers are truncated in the Year View. Only the first digit is shown, which means it shows week number 1 - 9 correctly, but 10, 11, 12... etc. all show just 1. Week 21, 22, 23... etc. show only 2.
Tried it in a fresh Guest Account, so not an issue with my .plist files or similar.

Doesn't for me unfortunately with the Calendar List hidden, as to be seen below. I think it could have something to do with resolution and screen space of the display, since resizing the window tends to fix it for specific widths and heights. I'm using a Thunderbolt Display with my rMBP.

  • Why can't I print out a year view calendar?

I was thrilled to find we now have a Year-View in iCal with OSX Lion, but now I find I cannot print it out. Every year, I like to print a few year-view calendars to keep in different places. Right now, I do not have any calendar program that will let me do that. What is so wrong with letting us print a year view calendar?

    As a work around:
When displaying the year view, switch to full screen view and type  Command(⌘)-Shift-3 to take a screen shot.
That will store a picture of the screen on your Desktop. Print the picture.

  • Bug? My events on the iPad iCal app aren't shown in the year view if they are more than two years in the future.

My events on the iPad iCal app aren't shown in the year view if they are more than two years in the future even though I can see them on the month, week and day view. Any suggestions on how to fix it? I've tried it all. I called the apple support and they checked on their iPads. They all did the same and they couldn't help me. They suggested trying this way. I'd like to be able to plan a few years ahead and the year view would make thing so easy!
    Is this a bug?

Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.
Then reboot your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • HT201412 I cannot open the month of March 2013 in my iPad3 calendar. I can however see it in the year view for 2013 and I can view the daily and weekly calendars for March 2013. Any ideas what has gone wrong ? Thanks

I have a new iPad3 and have found I cannot open the month of March 2013 when I tap on it. All other months open OK ! I can see March 2013 in the yearly view and I can open the individual days, and weeks, of March 2013 but I cannot see the whole month in the monthly view. When I try to open the monthly view for March 2013 it returns me to the start screen which shows all the apps etc and closes the Calendar app. Any guidance of what is going wrong and how it can be corrected. Thanks !

Don't worry we have to start somewhere. Feel free to post your questions here, we learn from each other.

  • IOS 8 - Photos app bug - "stuttering" effect on Year view

    Hi Folks,
On the iPhone6 Plus 128GB with iOS8.1.3 (with 15000 photos inside several years go), I notice that when using the Photos native app in the “Year view” (yearly mosaic view), if I scroll up or down slightly fast, the scrolling that you get has a little “stuttering” or “jerking” effect, so the UI is not perfectly smooth in this view inside Photos native app.
Have you noticed it in your own iPhone's with iOS8.1.3. and also having a huge size photo callery as I have (>10000 photos spread in several years)? (I think that is it very important, because if you have not a huge photo gallery, probably you will not see the “stuttering” or “jerking” effect that I am describing).
I think this is a bug which impacts iOS User eXperience, which needs to be fixed.
    Thanks by your feedback!

    Hi Guys!
Any experience to share with us, please?
    Thanks!

  • Calendar app stuck on year view

iPhone 4S running OS 8.1 - Calendar app stuck in year view. Shows todays date in red but when you try to go to "Today" nothing happens. Any thoughts?

There is more than one place to change time. If you set the time to local, you need to go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>scroll down to the bottom under calendar and set the time zone support there for the local time zone.

  • The old calender iOS6, in the year view, it shows how much busy I am in a day by indicating the color intensity. But the new calendar year view is totally useless!!! also too bright!! Why apple does this?? What is the way to revert the calendar back???

Unfortunately, that's the way the cookie crumbles nowadays. Sir Jony Ive's GUI design for iOS7 has been met with much skepticism (to say the least). But until the company sees the compelling need for an adjustment or reversal, it "ain't happenin' ". So amble over to the feedback page ( http://www.apple.com/feedback/ ) and make your displeasure known to the company, OR make it known by not purchasing its products. Because as long as the iGadgets continue selling as fast as they can make them, they will see no need for change.
BTW, do note you are NOT talking to Apple here. This is just a user-to-user forum.
Edit: for now, you can also try out any of the alternate calendaring apps available in the App Store.

  • View the calendar for a year

How can i view the calendar for a year, not just a month

This feature is not available with the default Apple Calendar application. There may be an App in the iTunes App Store that does this for you.

  • My ipad air calendar doesn't show appointments in year view?

my ipad air calendar doesn't show appointments in year view?

Year view is too small. You have to be on at least month view.
You can view alll your events in list form by tapping the magnifying glass on the top right.

  • No events in Calendar "Year" view since IOS 7 update

I just updated my iPad to IOS 7.0.4. Before the update the Calendar app "Year" view indicated days that had events/appointments by colour-shading that day. Since updating no events are visible in Year view. Is there place where I can turn this feature on again?

As I stated in original post, the previous IOS version of the Calendar app showed days with scheduled events by colour-shading the background for that day in the Year view... just like the Calendar app in OSX Mavericks still does. I find it very useful when planning vacations/events, etc. That way I can view the whole year and see when I have free blocks of time.
