Calendar 'Categories' from Outlook

Is it possible to utilize the 'Categorize' function from Outlook 2007 on the iPhone? Calendar items appear on the iPhone, but do not have the category tag/color.

No, that feature is not supported. The only way to 'color-code' calendar entries on the phone is to create multiple separate calendars (in Outlook or iCal), and enter the events in different calendars.

  • Lync 2013 Clients prompting repeatedly for credentials for calendar data from outlook

Our Exchange server had crashed recently (nothing major) and a reboot of the CAS server resolved the issues. However since then all our domain computers with Lync 2013 clients are prompting for credentials for calendar data from outlook. We would but in
our domain credentials but it still asks. It would sometime ask once a day or sometimes repeatedly throughout the day.
I have look on the forums and tried fixes that included: editing IIS Autodiscover and ESW to use NTLM first , rebuilt lyncs cache in app data etc and none seems to resolve the issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Note: Our Lync 2013 environment is internal only. Only users on domain computers can access the service. We do use a proxy server here for internet but I do not believe Lync is going through the proxy since its internal to our network only. This is NOT happing
to our users with the Lync 2010 client.

Please update your Lync client with the latest version.

I copied a calendar item from Outlook to the Calendar app.  I can't delete it and the reminder repeats itself every few seconds.  How can I stop the reminder?  How can I delete the calendar item?

Can you access in on icloud.com and delete the event?  If not, and force-quitting didn't help, try going to System Preferences>iCloud, uncheck Calendars, choose Delete from Mac when prompted (they will still be in iCloud), then restart your Mac and go back and check Calendars again.

having trouble syncing/downloading contacts & calendar & tasks from outlook 2010 to iphone4s help please.

I had the identical problem.  I still don't know how to sync the tasks, but here's how I did the contacts and calendar:
    1.  Connect the 4s to the computer.
    2.  Open iTunes.
    3.  Click the iPhone box in the upper right corner.
    4.  Click on the info tab.
    5.  Hit the checkbox Sync Contacts with... and choose Outlook from the dropdown box.
    6.  Ditto for Calendars.
    7.  Hit Apply.
My problem was that originally, I wasn't getting the checkboxes.  I turned off the iCloud settings on the 4s.  That did the trick.

  • W can I bring over my contact Categories from Outlook 2007 to my iphone 4s?

How can I bring over all of my contact Categories from Outlook 2007 to my 4s iPhone?  All of my contacts have synced, but I have nearly 1500 business contacts and need to be able to filter them down by Categories as I do in Outlook.  Is there a way to do this or an app?  I am coming to the iPhone from a Windows Mobile platform that automatically brought the categories from Outlook to that smartphone.

Sync old iPhone 3G to iTunes on your computer. Then connect new iPhone 4S to computer and Restore from Back-Up of the 3G. This command can be found, on Windows you right mouse click on iPhone name in left column of iTunes, on Mac Option click on iPhone name in left column of iTunes.

  • Issues with calendar invites from Outlook address that come to my gmail on iPhone

I have been trying for HOURS to get to the bottom of this iPhone calendar invite problem I'm having. I'll try to summarize.
I LOVE iCal and I want to continue using it. Though I have a personal mid-2010 Macbook Pro, I don't use it too much (my company functions solely on Windows). I almost exclusively use my iPhone 4S for calendar purposes. Yes, my calendar is synced up to iCloud. I have a gmail account as my primary apple ID and my mail account on the iPhone is synced with gmail. I've been very annoyed lately as I have been receiving a lot of calendar invites from a friend who has Outlook, and I cannot accept or decline when I received her invite. The events are added to my calendar, grayed out.
After much research, I realized that I had to setup my gmail account as an Exchange account on my iPhone, which I did. I then sent myself a test invite from Lotus Notes, and low and behold, I can now accept and decline!
..but I am VERY particular about my calendar organization, and I want to be able to choose which calendar the event is added to; however, it is added to my exchange (gmail) calendar, I guess because it was received on the gmail server. I want my calendar invites to be received on my ios device calendar! I don't know if having people use my .me account would help, but I don't want to tell everyone to change the email address to which they send me notifications, because I want to continue to receive mail at my gmail account (like the many calendars, I have many folders there and have everything set up the way I want it).
I get emails concerning work, events, tennis matches, etc via my gmail account, and I want to sort them to the correct calendar when the invite comes to my gmail while STILL maintaining the functionality to accept and decline invites.
    Is this a crazy question?

I posted this question a while ago and didn't receive any responses but there are a lot of people who have viewed it and 10 have said they have the same question so I thought I would update you that I added my nanny to my exchange server account (created an email for her) and I send all invites to that email address and they work.  So sending invites from an exchange server account to a non-exchange server account apparently is a bug so to solve it, get on an exchange server I guess.

  • Transfer email, calendar etc from Outlook PC to Outlook Mac

    Hi all,
I've had a look around for this but can't seem to find a solid answer and I'm concerned that something will be missed.
I need to transfer all email, calendar, contacts etc from Outlook 2007 on Windows to Outlook 2011 on a Mac. Could anyone point me in the right direction please?

  • Receiving an ics calendar file from Outlook

I have two calendar databases.  At work, my PC is attached to the corporate Exchange server.  No other email client or system is permitted.  At home, I'm using Mail that is part of Mac OSX / iOS5 / iCloud as well as a cpi[;e pf other providers such as Yahoo and GMail. Each in their own domain is working well.  One annoycance is I may setup a calendard event at work where I need the calendar event to warn me that i will need to leave the office for an external appointment.  Howeer, I also need tis informaiton at home.
If I set up this personal appointment at work, I open the event and forward it to my iCloud (formerly Mobile Me) account as an ICS file.  If I work next on my iMac or Macbook, I open the attachment on the eail for ics event, OS X will open a proposed calendar even which I can edit and save.  That is just perfect.  However, if I see the event in my eMail on the iPhone 4s (iOS 5 with current updates), the event is attached to the email.  But if I press on it, it does not open or show more detail. All that is displayed as an iCon that I beiev identiies it as a calenar event, a file name with the subjecct of the meeting with a .ics at the end, the size of the attachment and a right pointing arrow that does nothing.
The design appears to be a good one if it worked.  As it may be many hours from my seding the event to my home email until I get to the home computer, I woudl like to update my iCloud calendar and I prefer to autoamate that to the extent that I do not need to retype the infor again.
Any ideas what my issue is?
    thanks,
    Bruce

In my case the only exchange account I had was at work and was read through Outlook (the only mail client the company permitted at work).  What I was trying to do is send an appointment from Outlook at work to my xxx.me account at home.  If I opened it in Mac OS X Mail client, it worked perectly.  But on iOS devices the attachment was not recognized as a calendar event.

  • Cannot sync Calendar items from outlook to PDA

Hi I am using Active sync via exchange to sync wirelessly. My devices are Palm Treo 750v's running Windows mobile 5 and 6.0. I am on New Zealands Vodafone Network
My problem is that we cannot sync from Outlook calendar to the PDA calendar, from the PDA to the calendar is fine when entered on the PDA.  We sync wirelessly via exchange 2003 on an SBS server.
I have have tried hard resets, different user accounts, different Treo 750v's, different versions of windows mobile all with no difference.  I have checked the firewall logs and event logs for errors. I have set all the virtual directories to the settings recommended by Microsoft. I ahve searched for a firmware update applicable to my devices without success
To me it seems like a permissions problem on a folder or virtual directory as when you sync an appointment from the PDA to Outlook you can modify it but the change is not reflected on the PDA although the PDA detects a change the appointment is not changed on the PDA.  If you move the appointment in Outlook to a new time that change is still not reflected on the PDA although it detects the change, but if you delete the message in outlook even though it is in a different time slot (in outlook) to the PDA copy it deletes the PDA copy when you synchronise.
    Any ideas
    Cheers Geoff
Post relates to: Treo 750 (AT&T)

    Hi,
The devices are syncing to exchange directly, we do not use active snyc on the desktop as we mainly run a terminal server / citrix enviroment.  The appointments show up in OWA and in Outlook when entered on the PDA (Treo) so this means they are getting to the server.  When entered via Outlook they show up in OWA but not on the PDA although the PDA will detect the change.
    Cheers Geoff
