Open the Calendar app
Tap Calendars (bottom menu)
Tap the ! icon (right of specific calendar)
Tap the color you wish to use
Tap done
In some cases, the calendar color is determined by the source if it is a subscribed or online calendar (Google for example).

  • Calendar colours changing themselves

I've been using iCal on Macbook Air syncing the Calendar over iCloud to both iPad2 and iPhone5 for about a month.
I have two calendars - one was in Green and the other Orange (these were the default colours from when the devices were first used and I was happy with them so left the colours alone).
Two days ago the Green calendar started changing itself to Blue and the Orange one started changing itself to Purple.  If I change the colours back to my desired Green and Orange (and I've tried doing it on all three devices) then they just keep changing themselves (on all three devices) to the undesired Blue and Purple.
Both the MBA and iPhone5 are one month old, and software is up to date on all three.
I'm aware of another (old) thread concerning colours and subscribed calendars, but these are not subscribed calendars.

    Me too.
I have iPhone5 (less then 3 months old) running 5 calenders (each with a different colour).
    All are iCloud enabled.
All are subscribed to by a MacPro (Lion) and an iPhone4.
1 calender is subscribed to by a iMac (early silver casing runing Lion).
In the past few days, calendar colours on the iPhone5 & then the others) keep self-changing.  If you change them back, they self-change again.
All softrware is up to date.
This definitely was not a problem until a few days ago.
Help !  Apple sort this out - it is driving us mad.

  • HT4910 ios 7 Calendar Colours Changing

Help! Since I moved up to ios 7.0.2 my calendars (on ipad mini, iphone 4 and icloud on PC) keep changing willfully. When I edit to change them back, it appears to work then they revert again. I use colour coding to know where I should be and when so this is extremely problematic for me. I have searched all over but cannot find any information addressing this.

    Hi Breqpur,
If you look to the right of this thread you will see "More Like This". You are not alone. Folks who have contacted Apple have indicated that Apple is aware of this problem, and it is related to some iCloud updating they are doing. It is supposed to be fixed any time now....
Hope that at least sets your mind at ease (a bit....)

  • HT2513 Calendar colours changing randomly.... fix ??

    Please help !!!

    Ok then........ solution.
Export the calendars that are affected, (not all of mine were), to the desktop. Then delete the calendar. Create a new calendar with the original name and then import the saved, desktop calendar to it. Repeat this for all the affected calendars. I did this three days ago and it seems to have solved the problem and is stable.
    Good Luck !!!

  • Shared iCloud calendar colour keeps changing

I haven't had this problem for a while, but this week my the calendar my wife shares with me in iCloud keeps changing colour.
I am running iOS 6.1.3 and we have had the shared calendars set up for ages. Now no matter what i do her calander displays as blue, even though it is yellow when i log into iCloud on the web.
When I change to colour to purple on either my iPad or iPhone the colour changes on the web iCloud calendar but displays as blue in iCal on my mac, and in iCal on both my iPad and iPhone.
I haven't added any other new calendars or accounts recently, so I have no idea why this is happening (again)
Anyone else having this problem and/or found a solution?

I started having this problem in late June. Both the names and colours for some of my shared calendars suddenly changed to the names and colours used by the calendar owners (instead of the names and colours that I have assigned to them). This had worked just fine ever since shared calendars became available until June, 2013. My Mom and my sister are having the same problem.
I reported the problem to Apple support on July 3, and they ran through some troubleshooting with me. The names and colours are correct on the calendar app in Mountain Lion as well as iCloud.com through Safari on my Mac. However, when the calendar syncs to any iOS device, the namea and colours on SOME of the shared calendars change. This even occurs when setting up a brand new iPad for the first time.
If I change the name and colour on either my iPhone or iPad, the change seems to sync back to iCloud, but, just a few seconds later, the calendar app on iOS begins syncing again and the names and colours change back.
I spoke to two levels of support at Apple who were not able to resolve the problem. The second rep said the problem needed to be forwarded to an Apple engineer for investigation. It's now been over a month, and there has still been no response from their engineers. I've contacted Apple twice for an update, and they said the engineers still have not replied.

  • ICal Calendar Colors Changing On Their Own; iCloud Connection

    AGGRAVATING PROBLEM:
Many in this forum have written recently about a problem ongoing for people with multiple iCal calendars where iCal calendar colors change "automatically" when you haven't selected those colors, or even "change back" before your eyes to some color your DIDN'T select after you select a new one.  If you log into iCloud on the Web and try to change the color of certain calendars, they refuse to change.  Try as you might, the color you want for your calendar won't "stick" and it is forced to be the wrong color on all your devices.  In some cases, even the names of some of the calendars cannot be changed.  On other calendars in your list, the colors and names will change fine.
Related symptoms:  Calendars you have deleted "come back."   Or, calendars you did not create yourself show up in your calendars list, such as "Calendar" or "Home" or even "Untitled."  Note that the problem seems to be most prevalent with calendars with names "Home," "Work," OR either of these words in the NAME of the calendar.  For instance, "Bob's Work" might get snagged (it can't be deleted without coming back or its color is stuck and "comes back").
I spent a long time on the phone with a helpful Apple senior advanced specialist on this problem today.  We conducted a very large number of "experiments". Our family has two iPads, 2 iPhones, and 2 iMacs, so it was easy to rule things in or out.  I will present some information that may help.
SOME OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE GOING ON:
First, Apple has not resolved this.  But the problem appears to be related to iCloud, and NOT to individual devices.  After de-linking all of my individual devices from iCloud, I could change any of the colors or names at will on any given device, create new calendars and then change their colors to whatever I wish, delete calendars, change names...no problem.  However, after re-linking calendars to iCloud, all the problems mentioned above returned.  The chances that my iMacs, iPhones, and iPads are all causing the problem independently is very low. They also have slightly different OS versions on them, so it is not likely an a particular device OS, though that could be indirectly related.  Also, the colors "change back" within about the same time (usually a few seconds to up to 30 seconds) that it takes to do a "refresh" (i.e. an update) to the iCloud servers.  This when iCloud is turned on, and the absence of it when iCloud is turned off (for calendars), strongly suggests that it is the iCloud server and its interaction with your devices that the fundamental cause of the problem.
Apple has said that they are aware of this problem and their engineers are working on a fix.  Historically, this can mean just a few days, or it could be a few months, years, or "whenever."  They don't give estimates of when it will be fixed.  Exactly WHY this is happening is unclear, but my guess is that it is a modification to the iCloud server code that Apple implemented without testing it thoroughly enough to discover this problem.  Apple does not admit to that, of course and I don't know if I am correct.
A WORKAROUND SOLUTION THAT WORKED FOR ME:
Please note this is a workaround and not a full fix.  Apple needs to run a patch on their iCloud server code.  Until then, I did the following which seems to have worked for me for now.  Read the whole list before deciding whether to proceed.  I don't guarantee it will work in all situations.
Note...I found I was stuck for now with the color of ONE of my calendars.  If you are like me, you want to keep that one and work around it....
Backup first... Make sure that your iCloud copy of your calendar data has the calendar event information you want to save - even if the color is wrong.  Log in at www.icloud.com and do a refresh to sync to the Cloud.  Check over your calendars online to make sure the event data appears to be there for all of your calendars (even if their color or name is not what you want).
    Steps:
    1.     Go to every device that you have linked to iCloud separately. Go into Settings, iCloud, and then uncheck the "Calendars" option.  This delinks your calendars for that device to iCloud.  As you do this on each device, when prompted, select "Keep On My" ..iPAD...iPhone...iMac... etc.  This will preserve the calendar information on the device so it won't be deleted.  I think this is safer, but you can click on "Delete" if you want, too.  Note - if one of your devices is an iMac, with OSX Lion and before, you may be forced (I was) to delete the iCloud calendars from the iMac.  So again, make sure they are backed up to the Cloud first (or somewhere else).
    3.     With the iCloud Calendars Option on all your devices still turned off, go to the WEB and log into iCloud.com.  You need to figure our which calendar iCloud won't let you change the color for.  You probably already know.  On iCloud.com, click on "Calendars," then click open your calendar list and select "EDIT" at the bottom of the dialog box.  One at a time, click on the color dots next to each calendar name and try to change the color (you can put any back after the test if you want). You will probably see a certain one that just goes right back to what you don't want.  This is the one for which the color is stuck, but you may be able to change the name of it now that your devices are unlinked from iCloud.
    4.     Still in iCloud.com, change the names and colors of any of the other calendars you wish to change.  Delete any empty calendars that mysteriously appeared without your wanting them.  Take note of all the calendars, names, and colors that are on the final list of calendars.
    5.     On EVERY device, BEFORE turning iCloud back on on ANY of them: Change the colors and/or names of calendars, delete calendars, etc. so that the calendar names and colors on the device are exactly the same as what you left in iCloud.com in the last step.
    6.   One at a time on each device, go back to Settings and then "iCloud" and check again the box for "Calendars."  You will be asked whether you want to "MERGE" your data with iCloud.  I selected MERGE to ensure I didn't lose anything.  Link each device again into iCloud one at a time.
    7.  When each device is back, go back to iCloud on the Web, or go into iCAL on one of your devices.  Set to view ALL calendars.  Look for duplicates of some of your events.  I found quite several as an artifact of "merging", but in my case it only took me about 5 minutes to go through quickly and delete the duplicates.  It deleted the duplicates on all of the devices at once, so I only needed to delete dups on one device.  I did not find that I lost any events as long as I kept one valid copy.
Again, no guarantees...hope this works for others.  Good luck.

I'm getting the same thing and it's really bugging me! Keeps changing colour to one I do not want and I have tried everything to get it to stay the colour I have chosen!!

  • Calendar colours broken suddenly, and odd new calendar called, "New List"?

    Hi,
So, suddenly today iCloud has changed the colours of two or three of my calendars spontaneously after them being the same colour for months, and won't let me change them back - after a sync they just revert to whatever iCloud has decided they must now be.
I've checked in BusyCal (my default) and Calendar, and changes to either of them are just reverted on sync.  There doesn't seem to be a way to change colours in iCloud itself.
Also, I now have a new calendar in iCloud all of a sudden called, "New List", with a tick next to it.  If I delete it it just comes back on next sync.  This doesn't appear in iCloud or in Calendar, only BusyCal.
    Help?
EDIT: I'm running 10.8.5.  Apple's Discussion board doesn't seem to want to let me change my device details no matter how hard I try.

This is the response I received from BusyCal support yesterday...
Something changed on iCloud recently that affects calendar colors in BusyCal. We are investigating it and will notify you once we have found the cause of the problem or a solution.

  • ICloud Calendar colours

iCloud Calendar colours has finally fixed !!!!

Eureka!! Discovered a solution for this systemic problem (albeit temporary for some users). Can't take the credit for the fix, though. All kudos goes to Sam Yu.
    He wrote;
"Found a workaround for this issue. I don't think it has to do with the fact that the calendar is named "work". Here's what I did:
    exported existing "work" calendar
create a new calendar with a new name, "work 2"
imported calendar to the new calendar
change calendar to the desire color
    deleted old "work" calendar
    named calendar back to "work"
I closed the calendar app and opened it again. The color stayed to my desired setting. Hope this helps!"

  • 2.1 Reset calendar colours?

I updated to iphone 2.1 last night and it has reset my calendar colours on my iPhone. Mobile me and iCal are both the same, but in the software upgrade it seems to have put my calendars in alphabetical order which has completely mucked up the colours.
Is there any way to change the colours on iphone? I know this was a problem early on but is there a solution yet?

Hi I had the same problem. I seem to have fixed it, but I don't know which step actually solved the problem:
    1. Turned off Calendar syncing on my Exchange account in Settings. This deleted all my Exchange events on my iPhone.
    2. With my iPhone connected to my PC running Outlook, re-enabled syncing of Calendars with Outlook (work calendar) in iTunes. This didn't seem to do anything.
    3. With my iPhone connected to my PC running Outlook, enabled syncing of Calendars with Outlook (calendar) in iTunes. This overwrote all my iPhone appointments with my Exchange appointments, coloured slate blue.
    4. On the iPhone, turned back on Calendar syncing on my Exchange account in Settings. This cleared all my blue appointments and then reloaded them into the red Calendar calendar. My iPhone appointments in the Work calendar (orange) reappeared.
I am guessing there are various lists of events stored somewhere against calendar names, but it is not possible at the moment to properly configure a mapping between external calendars like the one in Exchange and the ones in the iPhone.
Hope this helps. Now I have no more white/yellow entries!

  • How can I move an event in my calendar to my "completed" calendar without changing all the events in the series?

How can I move an event in my calendar to my "completed" calendar without changing all the events in the series?
As Apple has yet to upgrade iCalendar so I can check off my events as I complete them (no, I do not want to use a task list/reminder list), I want to be able to move my events to my "completed" events calendar as I complete them. The issue is that most of my events are repeating events, and it changes the entire series. How do I change only the event I clicked on using my iPhone?
    Thanks

If you change anything in a repeating calendar entry it will give you the option of disconnecting it from the series. So may any random change, choose to not change the series.

  • IOS 7 Calendar colours only appear in grey in Month View on iPhone 5

Why are Calendar colours in month view on iPhone 5 only in grey? They just appear as small grey dots underneath the date number. This is about as helpful as a chocolate teapot. I am so disappointed with the iOS 7 upgrade.

I have downloaded IOS7 on my iPhone and all calendar events have disappeared. The general functions of the calendar have changed and are definitely not 'user friendly'. How can I retrieve my calendar events. Will Apple improve the calendar function or revert to the previous system. Even the typing function on IOS 7 is faulty - very slow to respond to the keyboard. I no longer enjoy using my iPhone. Can anyone assist. Thank you

Very strange! All of my calendar events have reappeared. This has happened one week after downloading iOS 7
The calendar however,  is not easy to use.
The typing function on the phone has  become even slower. Have to wait for each letter to show on screen.

  • On Mac. Colours changed after switching to 64bit mode (ver 2.7)

Been using Lightroom 2.7 on my iMac quite happily and after reading a few articles realised it wasn't running in 64bit so changed it.
Now colours are all out, most noticeable on reds:
    Before change
    After Change
Any ideas why this is happening?
Tried changing back to 32bit and still the same so something has changed.
    Thanks
    Andrew
P.S Posted this on another forum and just to clarify here also, whilst the above are exported jpegs, these are used purely for illustration. The colour change is happening within lightroom itself, not on export.

After some advice elsewhere it seems I have 'lost' some of the camera calibration profiles.
I only have ACR3.1 and ACR4.4 listed and checked on another machine I used I normally have it set to Adobe Standard.
So, how can I get the profiles back?
    OK. Problem solved. Reinstalled Lightroom.
